GST Voucher 2026: Eligible Singaporeans To Get Up To S$850 From August 7

About 1.5 million adult Singaporeans will receive cash payouts of up to S$850 this August under the Government’s GST Voucher (GSTV) scheme, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Finance (MOF).

The annual payout is part of ongoing efforts to help lower- and middle-income Singaporeans cope with rising living costs and offset the impact of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

In addition to the cash payouts, around 710,000 senior Singaporeans aged 65 and above will receive Medisave top-ups of up to S$450, which will be automatically credited into their CPF Medisave accounts.

Up To S$850 In Cash For Eligible Singaporeans

Singapore citizens aged 21 and above may qualify for the GSTV-Cash payout if their Assessable Income (AI) for the Year of Assessment 2025 does not exceed S$39,000.

The amount received will depend on both the individual’s income level and the Annual Value (AV) of their residential property.

Eligible Singaporeans can receive between S$450 and S$850 under the scheme, with those in lower-income households receiving the highest payouts.

The GST Voucher scheme was introduced to cushion the impact of GST on lower- and middle-income households and has become a key component of Singapore’s social support framework.

Seniors To Receive Up To S$450 In Medisave Top-Ups

Apart from the cash payouts, approximately 710,000 senior Singaporeans will benefit from the GSTV-Medisave scheme this year.

Citizens aged 65 and above who meet the eligibility criteria will receive between S$150 and S$450 in Medisave top-ups. The amount varies according to the recipient’s age and the Annual Value of their home.

The funds will be deposited directly into recipients’ CPF Medisave accounts and can be used to pay for approved healthcare expenses, MediShield Life premiums and other medical insurance schemes.

Those unsure of their eligibility can check their status by logging into the Government’s benefits portal using Singpass.

Payment Dates And How To Receive The Money Earlier

Eligible Singaporeans who have already signed up for the scheme do not need to take any further action and will automatically receive their payouts starting from 7 August 2026.

Citizens who have not yet registered can do so through the Government benefits portal by 14 July 2026.

To receive their GSTV-Cash payout earlier, recipients are encouraged to link their NRIC to PayNow by 28 July 2026. Those with PayNow-NRIC linked bank accounts will be among the first to receive the funds from 7 August.

Individuals who do not use PayNow will receive their payments through other designated channels at a later date.

Government Warns Public Against Scam Messages

MOF has reminded Singaporeans to remain vigilant against scam attempts related to the GST Voucher payouts.

Eligible recipients will receive official SMS notifications only from the sender ID “gov.sg”. Citizens will never be asked to click on links, provide banking credentials, reveal personal information or transfer money in order to receive their benefits.

Those who do not have a registered mobile number will instead receive a notification letter sent to the address stated on their NRIC.

Anyone who suspects a scam or is unsure about a message can contact the ScamShield Helpline at 1799 for assistance.

Around S$1.4 Billion To Be Distributed This Year

According to MOF, a total of approximately S$1.4 billion will be disbursed under the GSTV-Cash and GSTV-Medisave schemes in 2026.

The payouts form part of a broader package of support measures aimed at helping Singaporean households manage daily expenses amid higher living costs. They are separate from other government assistance programmes, including CDC Vouchers and various Budget 2026 support measures.

With the latest round of payouts set to begin in August, eligible Singaporeans are encouraged to verify their eligibility and ensure their payment details are up to date to avoid delays in receiving their benefits.
