CLEANER JAILED 15 WEEKS FOR FILMING FEMALE EMPLOYEE IN THE SHOWER

According to a media release, a hotel cleaner was sentenced to 15 weeks of jail after filming another female employee while she was in the shower at a staff toilet.

According to the court documents, the 42-year-old suspect was cleaning the toilet at the time when the victim entered the toilet. The victim asked the suspect if she could take a shower in the toilet and the suspect agreed.

While the victim was showering, she spotted a mobile phone under the cubicle. She shouted and the suspect quickly retracted his phone. However, the suspect then decided to film the victim again for the second time.

The victim spotted the suspect in the act again but the suspect was nowhere to be found after she exits the cubicle. The suspect then proceeded to hide his mobile phone in a cleaner cart. A hotel member reported him to the police after the hotel security found the suspect’s mobile phone.

The suspect was charged with one count of intentionally recording another person doing a private act without her consent.

According to the law, the suspect could face a jail term up to 2 years, fined or both for the crime that he committed.
