
Soon Tien Driving School apologised to a student after one of their instructors made offensive remarks towards a student.
Apparently, the instructor allegedly questioned his nationality and insulted Burmese people. To the student horror, the instructor even asked the student if his mum was a mail order bride and how much did his dad paid for her.
Wanting to get his driving license, the student has engaged the instructor through an online platform via SgDrivingInstructors. During his first lesson, the student was asked to drive on the road despite was not taught how to operate a clutch.
What followed next was the instructor asking the student for his ID to verify if he was a Singaporean. After the unpleasant encounter, the student requested to change an instructor but the request was not being looked into.
The student only managed to change the instructor after talking to the school’s coordinator in person. The school have since apologised to the student and compensate him with 2 complimentary lessons to the student.
The Instructor was penalised for his action and will not be receiving any fees from the lessons that he had from the student.
