44 PEOPLE CAUGHT PARTYING AT BOON LAY COMMERCIAL BUILDING

A group forty-four people consisting of 29 men and 15 women is under investigation after a Police report was made, it included 41 Singaporean citizens, a permanent resident, a Malaysian and a Chinese national.

The group gathered in the office of a commercial building on Boon Lay Avenue in the early hours of New Year’s Day for a party, suspected of violating safety distance measures, and the police launched an investigation.

The police issued a statement earlier tonight saying that the police received a report at around 1:20 am yesterday (1st) that someone was gathering in a commercial building on Wenli Avenue. When the police arrived, they found a large group of men and women drinking, smoking and singing in an empty office.

Preliminary investigation revealed that they were suspected of conducting social gatherings and that the venue did not provide a license for public entertainment. The police investigation is still ongoing.

According to the Public Entertainment Act, providing public entertainment without a license can be fined up to $20,000. Violation of the safety distance measures can be sentenced to up to six months in prison, a fine of up to $10,000 yuan, or both.
