NEW COVID-19 CLUSTER IN S’PORE, AFTER WIFE AND OLDER SON OF CHINATOWN STOREOWNER TEST POSITIVE

MOH announced the 2 new community cases, which are the wife and older son of a Chinatown Complex shopowner, on February 12, who was previously reported to have not sought medical treatment despite showing symptoms of Covid 19 and ended up being positive.

His wife is a 62-year-old female Singaporean who is a housewife who tested positive even though she was asymptomatic.

His older son is an unemployed 33-year-old man and he was also asymptomatic and tested positive.

His younger son is a 32-year-old waiter at Swensen’s at Changi Airport Terminal 3, he tested positive as well and he was last at work on Monday.

“Effective contact tracing is an important enabler to ringfence community transmission,”

“Individuals are reminded to turn on their TraceTogether App or carry their TraceTogether token at all times so that we can quickly identify and isolate the close contacts of Covid-19 cases, and limit further infections.”
