Dr Tan Cheng Bock, the founder of the Progress Singapore Party (PSP), said that he will not be idel in his new role as chairman of the PSP.
Dr Tan said on 3 April that he will now focus on reaching out to more Singaporeans, as well as scouting for new talent.
The new secretary-general of the PSP will be former RSAF Lieutenant Colonel Francis Yuen, 71-years-old.
Dr Tan said that the PSP has grown and matured and that the new team must have the opportunity to use their strengths and skills to move forward.
He highlighted that he was not stepping down, but rather, he is “changing gear”.
He added that he will not lead the party from the front any more, and that the time is ripe for him to play a different role.
