A report by Singapore Food Agency has revealed that there are 15 consumers who have fallen ill from consuming food from home based bakery, The Peachy Sugarmaker.
All of them are suffering from gastroenteritis symptoms and nine of the 15 consumers are currently hospitalised but are in stable condition.
The 15 of them had consumed cakes, biscuits and pastries prepared between 5th and 7th August 2021 which the bakery business is known for.
MOH and SFA said that the company has since been stopped from distributing and selling food from Friday because of the suspected ongoing gastroenteritis transmission.
SFA further said that they would like to remind all operators that food and personal hygiene standards should be observed well at all times and that food safety is a joint responsibility.
Action will be taken strongly against those that choose to flout the Sale of Food Act or Environmental Public Health Act.
