Members of the public have been getting calls from “+65 6812 5555,” which is identical to ICA’s SafeTravel Enquiries Helpline “6812 5555,” said ICA.

The callers identified themselves as government officials. They accused the receivers of spreading bogus news about COVID-19 or breaching COVID-19 regulations and threatened them with a complaint or a penalty if they did not comply.

This is a scam. Such calls were not made by ICA or any other government agency.

According to ICA. ICA does not call members of the public to ask for money over the phone in any way.
