A man who was shopping in NTUC at Chinatown point realised that a product was expired.

But the product is stated as ‘best before’ meaning it’s not expired.

The product is dated BEST BEFORE 17-06-21

What is the difference between the “best before” and “expiry” dates?

Expiration dates inform customers when a product is no longer safe to eat. On the other hand, the best before date indicates that the food is no longer in excellent condition as of that date. Freshness, flavor, fragrance, and nutrition may all be lost.

After this date, the food will be safe to consume, but it may not be at its finest. Its flavor and texture may be inferior.
