Marco Paulo Goncalves Guimaraes, 43-years-old, a Portuguese, pleaded guilty to 2 charges on 10 June and was sentenced to 3 weeks jail.
He was ordered to compensate the victim and was also fined $1,000 for not wearing a mask.
Guimaraes is a Fifa licensed players’ agent who scouts for talent in Singapore and the region to play for European football clubs.
What happened?
on 11 July 2020 at about 1pm, Guimaraes was on his way to pick up his daughter from Oasis Primary School in Punggol, driving along Edgefield Plains planning to wait along the road for his daughter, with other cars.
Another car honked at him along the road and he gave way, he then thought that he saw the driver make a rude gesture with his finger at him while driving past.
Guimaraes then tailed the man in his car and confronted him at the loading bay of a nearby HDB block, he didn’t have his mask on at the time.
He then pushed the car door as the victim was alighting from his car, causing it to hit the victim’s shin, before grabbing his wrist and arguing with him.
Guimaraes then pushed the victim after he got out of the car.
He was hurling vulgarities at the victim and only put on his mask after the victim took a video of him with his phone.
Guimaraes also slapped the victim at the side of his head and kicked him before the arrival of the police.
