A dramatic car fire along the Seletar Expressway (SLE) left one man hospitalised after a BMW reportedly skidded before bursting into flames on Monday morning.
The incident happened along the SLE towards the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE), shortly after the Tampines Expressway (TPE) exit.
Videos circulating online showed the black BMW completely engulfed in flames, with thick black smoke rising high into the air and visible from a distance.
Footage recorded by a passing motorcyclist also captured skid marks trailing behind the vehicle, suggesting the car may have lost control moments before catching fire.

As the rider approached the scene, a police car could be seen parked safely behind the burning vehicle on the chevron markings.
The BMW had reportedly come to a stop across a merging lane in the middle of the expressway.
Parts of the vehicle appeared badly damaged, with the bumper seen detached from the car following the crash.
Moments later, a small explosion could reportedly be heard as flames continued spreading through the vehicle.
The incident quickly caused concern among motorists travelling along the expressway during the morning rush hour.
Passenger Sent To Hospital, Female Driver Assisting Investigations
According to the Singapore Police Force, authorities were alerted to the accident at around 8.15am on 1 June.
Police said the BMW was believed to have self-skidded before the fire broke out.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said firefighters extinguished the blaze using a water jet.
A 34-year-old male passenger was conveyed conscious to Sengkang General Hospital following the incident.
Police also confirmed that a 26-year-old female driver is currently assisting with investigations.
Meanwhile, the Land Transport Authority had advised motorists to avoid multiple lanes along the SLE due to the accident, with traffic disruptions reported during the operation.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
