He was 25 years old when he committed the crime. Earlier today he was sentenced to a jail term of 5 years along with 6 strokes of the rotan.

During the robbery, he told the bank’s teller that he has a gun and the teller who was being threatened by was a pregnant lady and comply with his orders as she was afraid. After handing over approximately $30,000, David makes the run to Changi Airport and flies to Thailand.

The reason why the conviction took so long was caused by his money laundering activities in Thailand which landed him in jail for 14 months. After his release, he was extradited to Britain where he faced a legal battle against extradition to Singapore. Singapore reassured the British authorities that David will not be canned after his extradition in Singapore. However, the sentence he received included 6 strokes of the rotan.

Although David has tried everything he can to prevent the extradition to Singapore he failed to do so and he was extradited to Singapore early last year, during the course of his stay in Singapore he appealed multiple times against the British High Court to revoke the extradition.
