78 Y.O MAN TRAPPED 12 Y.O GIRL IN TOILET @ SENJA-CASHEW CC & ASKED FOR ORAL, CHARGED

0

A 78-year-old elderly man in Singapore, faced charges in court today, June 26, for an alleged incident involving the confinement of a 12-year-old girl in a handicapped toilet cubicle at the Senja-Cashew Community Club, according to a report by The Straits Times.

He then tried to get her to perform an explicit act on him inside the cubicle.

The individual in question, Huang Youcai, holds Singapore permanent residency. He has been formally charged with two offenses under the Children and Young Person Act: wrongful confinement and exploitation of a child.

Due to a court-issued gag order, the identity of the victim cannot be disclosed.

Based on court documents, the incident occurred on February 1, 2023, at approximately 8:30 PM. Allegedly, Huang detained the victim within the handicapped toilet for a duration of nearly two minutes.

He purportedly used his left hand to secure the door, preventing the victim from escaping. While in the confined space, Huang allegedly made physical contact with the victim’s hand and inquired, in Mandarin, whether she knew how to perform oral.

Huang is scheduled to appear in court again in August.

It should be noted that attempting to procure an explicit act from a child carries severe penalties. Offenders may face imprisonment for a maximum of seven years, a fine of up to S$10,000, or both.

In the case of repeat offenders, the potential consequences increase to imprisonment for up to ten years, a fine of up to S$20,000, or both.

Wrongful confinement is also a serious offense, punishable by imprisonment for up to three years, a fine, or both.

Similar offences by pedos

22-year-old Teo Jun How was sentenced to 15 months and 4 weeks imprisonment on Tuesday (20 June) for obscene offences against 7 girls after pleading guilty to 9 charges, with 4 of them under the Children and Young Persons Act and another 3 for indecent exposure, according to The Straits Times.

The court heard that in 2018 or 2019, Teo had joined a Whatsapp chat group of a boyband that was created by the two sisters.

He then got the younger sister’s number (she was about 11 or 12 years old at the time) and they chatted normally at the start.

The girl then got annoyed with Teo for teasing her and blocked him on Whatsapp.

Teo then messaged her on Instagram a few months later and asked her to meet him, which she initially refused before eventually giving in after Teo persisted with his request.

Their first meeting went without incident, but on their second meeting a few days later where they went to watch a movie, Teo asked the girl to perform an explicit act on him.

The girl refused but Teo still unzipped his pants and exposed his private parts to her, and the victim then left the cinema angrily.

Teo then followed the girl and apologised, before offering to send her home in a taxi, but on the ride home, he tried to get the girl to touch him once again.

In October 2020, when the girl was 13 years old by then, Teo contacted the girl again and offered her $100 to send him explicit photos of herself, but was rejected.

He then offered her $150 to expose herself on video, to which the victim agreed, and the two then exposed themselves on a video call, with Teo secretly recording the video.

Teo then targeted the girl’s 15-year-old older sister on 17 January 2021 at about 3.30 pm, calling her and asking her if she wanted to be his friend.

She asked him who he was but he kept quiet, before moaning and making other explicit noises during the call.

The girl then ended the call and Teo then texted her and asked her if she wanted to see his genitals, which the girl ignored.

He then told her about his exchange with her sister and sent her a recording of the conversation that he had with her.

She then told her sister about it and they told their mother about Teo, and a police report was subsequently lodged against him.

Teo was arrested on 24 January 2021 at his residence, and police found a thumb drive with 502 explicit videos, including 354 videos that involved children.

Teo was out on bail when he joined a WhatsApp group for students from a girls’ school to talk about their school life which he found through a link on a social media page.

He then sent filthy messages to several of the girls whose number he had gotten from the chat group.

9 Y.O BOY GETS EDUCATION AWARD FROM K. SHANMUGAM, MUM ALSO GOT AWARD 27 YRS AGO

0

In this year’s Education Merit Award Ceremony, Nee Soon GRC Member of Parliament, K. Shanmugam, presented a prestigious award to 9-year-old Eben Yong for his outstanding performance at Yishun Primary School. Little did he know that this moment would hold a deeper connection to his own past.

Following the award presentation, Shanmugam had the opportunity to capture a group photograph with Eben and his family. It was then that Eben’s mother, Sharon, shared a precious photograph with him—a snapshot from the past that held a special significance.

The photo depicted a much younger Shanmugam presenting the Edusave Scholarship award to Sharon in 1996. At that time, Shanmugam served as the Member of Parliament for Chong Pang, which fell under Sembawang GRC, while Sharon was a Secondary 1 student at Naval Base Secondary School.

Fast forward 27 years later, the tables had turned, and it was Sharon’s son who was being honored with an education award from the very same person who had recognized her achievements in the past.

Sharon, a lifelong resident of Nee Soon for over 35 years, was deeply touched by the remarkable connection and continuity of recognition from one generation to another.

Expressing his joy, Shanmugam acknowledged Sharon’s decision to continue building her family in Nee Soon and extended his heartfelt wishes for their future endeavors.

Shanmugam’s Facebook post

[From mother to son – I gave awards to both!]

At this year’s Education Merit Award Ceremony, I gave out an award to 9-year-old Eben Yong for his good performance in Yishun Primary School.

After taking a group shot with the family, Eben’s mother, Sharon, showed me this old photo. It was of me giving out the Edusave Scholarship award to her back in 1996.

I was the MP for Chong Pang (which was under Sembawang GRC then), and Sharon was a Secondary 1 student at Naval Base Secondary School. 27 years later, it was now her son receiving an education award from me.

Sharon has been a Nee Soon resident for over 35 years, since she was a little girl. I am happy she has also chosen to build her family here too. I wish her and the family the very best.

CATHAY PACIFIC’S AIRPLANE TYRE EXPLODES ON RUNWAY @ HK AIRPORT, 11 PASSENGERS INJURED

0

On the 24th of June, passengers aboard Cathay Pacific Flight CX880 experienced a distressing situation at Hong Kong International Airport.

According to Reuters, as the aircraft was preparing for takeoff, it was discovered that one of the plane’s tyres had overheated, leading to a burst. The exact cause of the overheating is yet to be determined, but it resulted in the cancellation of the flight. The situation unfolded in the early morning, causing concern among the passengers and crew.

Due to the technical issue with the aircraft, Cathay Pacific took swift action and decided to evacuate the passengers. The 293 passengers and 17 crew members on board were guided to use the five-door escape slides for a safe exit. This evacuation procedure was carried out efficiently, ensuring the safety of everyone on board.

Regrettably, during the evacuation process, 11 passengers sustained injuries. According to reports, the injuries were a result of using the emergency slides.

The injured passengers, which included 10 women and 1 man between 29 to 77, were immediately transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

Following the incident, Cathay Pacific released a statement and emphasized their commitment to providing assistance to all affected individuals, including the passengers and crew. The airline’s top priority was to ensure the well-being and care of those involved.

Aviation incidents, although relatively rare, do happen from time to time. It is important to note that incidents like these are exceptions rather than the norm.

Recent aviation incidents

In another recent incident, a Scoot plane lost a wheel during landing in Taipei. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in that particular incident.

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, operating flight TR897 from Seoul to Taipei, experienced a technical fault during landing on June 19. Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport witnessed the safe landing of the aircraft shortly after midnight.

The mishap was discovered when it became apparent that the left nose wheel of the aircraft was missing upon inspection.

Normally, the landing gear of this aircraft model consists of two wheels under the nose to facilitate maneuvering on the runway.

With over 300 passengers onboard, the flight was reported to have encountered abnormal tire pressure prior to descent.

Astonishingly, only the right nose wheel remained intact, while the metal rim of the left wheel had fallen off. Additionally, the left wheel shaft was found to be damaged.

The exact location of the missing wheel remains uncertain, as it was not recovered on the runway by Taoyuan International Airport Corporation.

ELDERLY MAN DIED ALONE AT HOME, PLANTS OUTSIDE STARTED WILTING BEFORE BODY FOUND

0

A 77-year-old elderly man died alone in his flat at Block 174 Toa Payoh Lorong 1, and was only discovered after a foul smell started emanating from his flat.

A neighbour later recalled that the deceased’s potted plants outside his flat had began wilting about a week before his decaying body was discovered.

The elderly man lived alone on the 9th storey of the HDB block, and was found dead on Saturday afternoon (24 June).

The Singapore Police Force said that they were alerted to a case of unnatural death at about 2.50pm and the 77-year-old man was then pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the police’s preliminary investigations, they are not suspecting any foul play in the man’s death.

Police officers were also seen wearing masks when entering the scene because of the strong stench coming from the unit, before taking the body away at about 6pm later that evening.

Isolated

Neighbors recount their limited interactions with the deceased, describing a man who led a solitary existence within the community.

For approximately 30 years, he had made the block his home, initially residing with an older female relative who had since passed away.

Since then, he had lived a reclusive life, rarely engaging with those around him. His reserved nature meant that even his closest neighbors did not know his name, highlighting the anonymity that characterized his time in Toa Payoh.

A neighbour of the deceased, Mdm Zhang, recalled the wilting potted plants outside the deceased’s flat. She had seen him diligently watering them on numerous occasions, but suddenly, his absence became apparent as nobody tended to his plants, which started wilting.

Zhang had knocked on the man’s door but there was no answer, and she then helped him to water his plants.

It was only when Mdm Zhang’s brother visited and detected a foul smell seeping through the man’s unit that the gravity of the situation was realised and the police were alerted.

GIRL CUTS CONTACT WITH GUY BUT HOPES HE RETURNS & MAKE HER FEEL WANTED

0

A netizen shared how she cut contact with a guy because the relationship was toxic but is still hoping he comes back to make her feel wanted.

Here is the story:

“These days, I feel that people are taking relationships very lightly. Having so many cases of extra-marital affairs surfacing, fwb, cross partner exchanges etc, I cannot comprehend.

I have been pretty down recently. So I cut contact with a guy, now for 4-5 months already. I had initiated it because I knew that the relationship was toxic right from the beginning. We already knew we were going nowhere, and eventually the day would come when we needed to go our separate ways. Yet each time, he reaches out to me, again and again, I will unknowingly fall deeper for him.

It came to a point where I knew it wasn’t sustainable anymore. So I told him that we needed to stop so I can move on. Knowing that he knows the right words to say to make my heart turn back, I even blocked all channels of communication between us. Eventually, he still managed to reach out to me and drop a last msg, saying he accepts this, but he was still sad.

Somewhere within me, I actually still hoped that he would come back and make me feel wanted. I wish he gave me the feeling that I would have some reason to return to him. But no. We ended via message, with me saying “Let’s just end here”.

Between months, I still find myself missing him so much. I would uncontrollably contact him. When I messaged him, he seemed quite contented with his life. I realized I had always been the one holding on to things that don’t belong to me, thinking that he would miss me as much as I missed him.

I know I am silly. I should move on to find someone else I can rely on. But yet when guys approached me, I only wished that I could be back with him. Many times I had told myself to move on, but when I reached the stage of  “getting to know each other”, I would feel exhausted and the thought that he is no longer with me will bring me sorrow. Why am I so enclosed?

I question myself sometimes – perhaps if I don’t love anyone, I would not get myself so upset. That’s why when I look at people who play too much, I often wonder if they have been hurt badly before too?”

FIRE @ HOUGANG HDB, PASSER-BY HELPED TO EVACUATE RESIDENTS BUT END UP IN HOSPITAL

0

A fire broke out at a HDB flat at Block 308 Hougang Avenue 5 that saw 10 residents evacuated, with one person being sent to the hospital.

The person who was sent to the hospital was a passer-by who had helped to evacuate the other residents, before being assessed for smoke inhalation by paramedics and conveyed to the Singapore General Hospital, according to the Straits Times.

Singapore Civil Defence Force’s statement

[Fire @ Block 308 Hougang Ave 5]

Earlier this evening at about 7:30p.m., SCDF was alerted to a fire at the abovementioned location.

Upon SCDF’s arrival, the fire was raging in a bedroom of a 13th-floor unit. Equipped with breathing apparatus, firefighters from Sengkang Fire Station entered the smoke-logged unit and extinguished the fire with a water jet. As a result of the fire, the rest of the unit also sustained heat and soot damage.

An occupant from the affected unit had evacuated prior to SCDF’s arrival.

As a precautionary measure, about 10 residents from neighbouring units were evacuated by the police.

An SCDF paramedic assessed a person from the affected unit for smoke inhalation but the person declined to be conveyed to the hospital.

A passerby, who had assisted in the evacuation of residents from the neighbouring units, was also assessed for smoke inhalation and conveyed to Singapore General Hospital.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the fire is likely to be caused by an electrical origin from the affected bedroom.

SCDF would like to remind the public on good practices to adopt to prevent electrical fires from occurring:

a) Do not overload electrical outlets with electrical appliances;

b) Always switch off appliances when they are not in use;

c) Check the appliance for frayed wires or cracked cords. If observed the appliance should be repaired or replaced. Do not use faulty appliances;

d) Do not run wires under carpets or mats and keep wires away from hot surfaces;

e) Use appliances and electrical plugs bearing the Safety Mark. The categories of appliances can be found at http://www.consumerproductsafety.gov.sg;

f) Do not leave batteries or devices to charge unattended for an extended period of time or overnight.

NETIZEN REJECTED JOB OFFER, THEN COMPANY DEMANDS COMPENSATION

0

A netizen was offered a job by a company and he/she rejected it, and nothing was signed – the company then demanded compensation.

Here is the story:

“Posting this as a warning to job seekers.

I was finding a job 6 months ago through a recruiter, let’s call them ‘C’. They offered me a job and I accepted the offer. But I had a change of mind and eventually told C that I’m not interested, and did not turn up at the client’s place to sign the letter of appointment (LOA). Before that, I did ask C for the LOA, but C had insisted not to give, saying it’s for audit compliance and does not carry any of the employment obligations between me and the recruiter.

After I rejected the offer, C reiterated our email exchange and mentioned that there is a contractual obligation between us. In our contract, it was mentioned that I would only consider accepting any client’s job offer if C could garner a minimum monthly basic salary of S$XXXX, which C had successfully done so based on my request. C had negotiated with this client without my knowledge or request, saying that there was 1 competing candidate and C had negotiated for the client to accept me.

C is threatening legal proceedings against me for breach of contract if I do not pay them a compensation of 1 month in salary as per the contractual obligations, which had also stated that if I reneged an offer after acceptance, they could seek compensation from me.

What should I do?”

Editor’s note: Make a complaint to MOM, nothing was signed and the company can’t do anything to you.
