GF MOANED ANOTHER GUY’S NAME IN BED, SAYS IT’S BECAUSE TV WAS ON & SHE HEARD THAT NAME

0

My gf(19) moaned another name

M(19) and my gf F(19) were f-ing. This happened about an hour ago and she moaned another name that wasn’t mine. I don’t really know how to feel or what to say or what to do.

She claims the name was said on tv and when she went to moan my name she moaned that name. we stopped what we were doing and I just laid there not know what to really do after that.

Netizens comments

  1. I’ll never catch my wife in this. Her ex and I have the same name.
Unless that other man’s name was Jesus, I’d be suspicious
  2. I was once giving my ex head…. he moaned out his ex’s name. I asked why he did that and he said i ‘did something exactly like she used to do’ not really the same situation but regardless it sucked and found out he was cheating on me for most of the relationship.
unsure if it was ever with her because he denied it…. but he was cheating. we broke up eventually but it was a long while after this incident. too many red flags i ignored…. seems a little sus that she said that and said it was someone from the tv show?? I don’t know if it’s grounds for breaking up but really have a serious conversation with her about it and let her know how you feel.
  3. Bruh all these comments are so crap. If he had moaned some other girls name I know u all would tell him to get f-ed.
OP I would be hella turned off and upset too cause that is weird no matter the reason
  4. hey OP? when my ex did this, he was cheating, and I stupidly stayed for several years after that. choosing to err on the “oh it was a mistake” side of things. it was a mistake, that I let him get away with.
I’m not saying go scorched earth and drop your partner, but please be cautious. You need to have a serious conversation about it and decide if it’s worth it to stay with her and believe her, or if it’s too much and you need to go.

NETIZEN ASKS WHY SO MANY S’POREANS WHO DON’T EARN MUCH, STILL BUY BRANDED GOODS

0

Why do you like branded goods?

I have always been curious cos I don’t at all appreciate branded goods. I can afford them but happy with normal everyday brands such as uniqlo for example.

From a new shoe from Adidas, to luxury brands LV, Hermes, Prada, etc. Singaporeans queue for these and I know people who will state that their items are Prada or whatever.

And my observation is that many of these people are not high earners.

Why?

Netizens’ comments

  1. For now I think it’s a symbol of status though. Sometimes the design not bad.
  2. Some see it as an achievement (managed to become manager, shall reward oneself)/ status (able to afford this so one should buy all of these brands from now on) / I’m so cool (gotta fit in with the crowd like a sheep)
Some see it as a better quality = last long, due to good stitching and material
And then there’s the insurance/MLMs who wants to lure the naive into making quick cash so they wear as much branded goods so that it increases the enticement of it all / increase trustworthiness / put on IG to show #gratitude #10kpermonth
  3. I like the brand promise.
A brand has uphold their standards that live up to their name (e.g. quality, good design, nice aesthetics, etc.).
But if they don’t live up to what they are known for, I drop them.
  4. Honestly reading the comments and I wonder what is with this OP’s obsession with “look at me, I’m so frugal and thrifty and eat cai png only. You spend more? BAD LIFE CHOICES!!!!”
can’t people just enjoy stuff anymore???
  5. Depends on each person’s interest and priorities mah.
I don’t care for branded clothes bags shoes because my interest is not in that category, I find it a chore when I need to shop for those things. I am also clumsy and don’t trust myself to keep them in good condition. I can however appreciate how they look even though they’re not worn by me, and I see the benefits eg branded bags where you can bring them in for free regular cleaning and maintenance, or having high resell value.
When it comes to groceries and home stuff though, I would then get “branded” goods if that makes sense? I won’t mind getting the pricier brands of butter, Japanese sushi rice and quinoa, Kleenex 4ply toilet paper, 3M brand instead of cheaper no-name brands. I’m not high earner but I just appreciate the small improvements these bring to my daily quality of life.
I know people who purchase branded fashion items but are more frugal regarding food and household purchases. No right or wrong either way, as long as you’re not getting in debt or being driven by a shopping addiction then do what you enjoy la, life is short.

S’PORE MMA CHAMP ANGELA LEE LIKELY TO RETIRE AFTER DEATH OF SISTER, CAN’T FIGHT ANYMORE

0

Singaporean mixed martial arts fighter Angela Lee is reportedly considering retirement from her professional fighting career.

Chatri Sityodtong, the CEO of One Championship, shed some light on Angela’s future in the sport during a conversation with the South China Morning Post. This news comes less than six months after the tragic passing of Angela’s sister and fellow MMA fighter, Victoria Lee, on December 26, 2022.

While the exact cause of Victoria’s death has not been disclosed to the public, Angela has urged fans to refrain from spreading conspiracy theories and speculating about the circumstances. The Lee family is currently going through a devastating period of grief and healing.

In a recent interview, Chatri revealed that Angela has expressed that she has not yet made a final decision about retiring, but she no longer possesses the drive or motivation to fight or train. He emphasized that this is a deeply personal decision for Angela, and they have not discussed any work-related matters.

Tragic passing

Victoria, known by her nickname “The Prodigy,” passed away at the age of 18. Her professional One Championship debut took place two years prior, where she achieved an impressive 3-0 record. She was set to make her return in January 2023 but tragically passed away on Boxing Day. Angela announced her sister’s passing on January 8. Victoria would have celebrated her 19th birthday on May 17.

In an emotional Instagram post, Angela expressed that life will never be the same without her beloved sibling. Since their early years, the Lee siblings were trained by their Singaporean father, Ken Lee, and Korean mother at the family’s United MMA gym in Hawaii. However, the gym has been permanently closed since January 2023.

Christian Lee, Victoria’s brother and holder of the lightweight and welterweight titles, intends to resume training but will take a break until next year, according to Chatri. However, Christian will need to find a new coach as their father, who previously served as his trainer, has retired from coaching entirely.

Moving forward, One Championship plans to crown interim champions in the weight divisions formerly held by Angela and Christian. Chatri mentioned that he has sought Christian’s approval on this matter and hopes to finalize the arrangements in the coming months.

Victoria Lee Day

January 14, which was Victoria’s last scheduled fight date, will be commemorated as “Victoria Lee Day” in One Championship every year. Additionally, the Singapore-based Evolve MMA gym, of which Victoria was a member, will award several scholarships to aspiring young fighters. Furthermore, Chatri will establish the Victoria Lee Award, which will be presented annually to a fighter who exemplifies exceptional dedication in giving back to their community.

TAIWAN LAO CHIO LIN CHI-LING RETIRES FROM SHOWBIZ, HOPES PEOPLE REMEMBER HER

Taiwanese model and actress Lin Chi-ling has recently made the decision to step away from her career in show business. Her primary focus now is on her family life and fulfilling her role as a devoted mother.

In January 2022, the 48-year-old Lin joyfully announced the birth of her son. This momentous occasion came three years after she married her Japanese husband, Ryohei Kurosawa, who is known by his stage name Akira.

During an episode of “The Echo of Life,” a popular docuseries hosted by Taiwanese host Kevin Tsai, Lin shared her heartfelt decision to retire from the entertainment industry. In this series, Tsai spends a day with celebrities, engaging in intimate conversations about their lives.

During the interview, Tsai questioned Lin about her plans to return to show business once her son grows older and requires less of her attention. To Tsai’s surprise, Lin shook her head, indicating that she had firmly made up her mind not to make a comeback.

Amid Tsai’s disbelief, he sought confirmation from Lin, ensuring that she was resolute in her decision. Lin reiterated her stance, emphasizing that she envisions a future where her son will no longer rely on her as much. She expressed that her age, combined with her son’s growth, played a significant role in her choice.

Tsai, however, expressed his belief that age should not be a deterrent and suggested that Lin could potentially make a return to show business even 15 years later. Lin’s reaction to his suggestion was one of astonishment, as depicted in a screenshot from the interview.

She then shared her hope that she would always be remembered as the vibrant and cheerful Lin Chi-ling, even as time passes and her hair turns grey. Lin expressed her desire for people to remember the version of herself with youthful energy and warmth.

Tsai countered Lin’s sentiment, suggesting that she might change her mind in the future, highlighting examples of other women who continue modelling despite their grey hair. In response, Lin indicated that she might explore other areas, such as philanthropy, to remain connected with society. She emphasized that her future public appearances would depend on the purpose behind them.

If the purpose of her public appearance was for charitable causes, Lin expressed a willingness to consider returning to the spotlight. However, if the intention was merely to compare her beauty with other celebrities, she saw no necessity in participating. Lin believed that such comparisons were no longer relevant at this stage of her life.

Since the birth of her son, Lin has already reduced her public appearances significantly. In October 2022, during a product launch event, she hinted at her retirement from the entertainment industry, stating that her family would be her priority for the foreseeable future. Mirror Media, a Taiwanese news outlet, reported on her remarks.

Lin Chi-ling’s decision to retire from show business stems from her desire to focus on her family life and cherish her role as a mother. While she may step away from the limelight, her legacy as a beloved and radiant figure in the hearts of her audience remains.

MAN ORDERED KOPI-O BUT GOT 100 PLUS INSTEAD @ HOUGANG KOPITIAM, HAWKER SCOLDS HIM

0

I had my breakfast at Hougang Ci Yuan Hawker Center this morning. I ordered a coffee from one of the beverage stalls, which is located behind all the Halal food stores. The queue was pretty short this time, so I didn’t have to wait for a long time to get my beverage.

When it was my turn, I told the lady at the hawker stall that I wanted one cup of Kopi O to drink here. The lady hawker then said, “One cup of Kopi O, number 100…” I was curious about the “100” part and thought she was referring to the price of the Kopi O.

When I received my drink, I realized it wasn’t Kopi O but rather a 100 Plus. I politely informed the lady hawker that I didn’t order the 100 Plus; I had ordered a Kopi O instead.

The lady hawker seemed to get angry and snapped at me, saying, “You said you wanted a 100 Plus? Now that you hear the price is S$2.7, you suddenly want to change it to Kopi O, is it?”

Oh, Jesus! I’m certain that I made the correct order by specifically mentioning that I wanted a cup of Kopi O. I simply told her that I didn’t understand what she meant by “Kopi O 100,” which I thought referred to the price. She responded in a condescending tone, saying, “Is this your first time visiting a hawker center?”

I think next time I’ll either bring my own coffee or order a beverage from the Muslim food store located just behind them when I visit this hawker center again. I can’t believe a soft drink now costs $2.7 at this hawker center. Just last week, when I had a meal at the Hougang 1 food court, the 100 Plus was only $1.50 per can.

I forgot the name of the beverage stall, but it’s located in the second last row after the halal food stores. I’m writing this post to inform everyone here to be cautious when visiting this hawker center. To be honest, I don’t understand the term “Kopi O No. 100.”

However, I’m pretty sure I’ve never heard any food stall seller in Singapore use this kind of term. I’m also certain that none of the food stall sellers purposely misinterpret customers’ orders.

For example, when I ask for Kopi O, they wouldn’t say “Kopi O No. 100.” Perhaps this is part of their tactic to take advantage of customers.

I think I will file a complaint through the OneService app about this incident.

A Singaporean man, aged 43, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident that occurred in Thailand on June 12. The incident took place in the southern part of the country, and despite efforts to save him, he passed away in a hospital. The man is survived by his wife and three children.

The deceased, identified as Mohamed Reza Abdul Rashid, worked as a physical education teacher. He had embarked on a journey from Singapore to central Thailand with the intention of going camping.

On the evening of Sunday, June 11, he set off on his 2021 Ducati Multistrada V4S motorcycle. His last Facebook post was made at 7:45 am on Monday, where he excitedly shared that he had just crossed from Malaysia into Thailand around 6:30 am.

In his post, Reza mentioned his participation in the Iron Butt Challenge, a long-distance motoring challenge. He revealed that they were halfway through the challenge and had another 800 km to go.

With 8 hours already passed, he anticipated another 16 hours on the road. Unfortunately, tragedy struck as he lost control of his motorcycle near Phatthalung Province Central Stadium.

Photos of Reza were shared on social media platforms, accompanied by pleas for information about his next of kin. The images depicted Reza lying on the grass while receiving medical attention from healthcare professionals. Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Reza’s personal website revealed that he had previously completed the Iron Butt Challenge twice. In December 2014, he rode from Hua Hin in central Thailand to Singapore, and in September 2017, he embarked on a journey from Singapore to Hua Hin.

In the wake of her husband’s tragic passing, Reza’s wife, Huda Lajam, paid tribute to him on Tuesday morning. Overwhelmed by grief, she expressed her deep love and admiration for him, describing him as her soulmate, best friend, and everything in her life.

Huda described Reza as a good man with a kind and gentle heart, emphasizing his unwavering love for their children. Family meant the world to him.

DINERS LIFTED UP INTO THE AIR WHILE HOLDING ON TO EATERY’S TENT DURING STORM

A dramatic incident unfolded in China’s Hubei province when a powerful storm caused an outdoor tentage to be lifted into the air, leaving several people clinging onto its poles for dear life.

The event, which occurred on June 11 in Yichang city, Hubei, quickly caught the attention of Chinese media and social media users.

As the storm intensified, images and videos captured the astonishing sight of individuals, including both restaurant patrons and staff, desperately grasping onto the tentage’s poles in a collective effort to prevent it from being carried away by the strong gusts of wind.

Despite their valiant efforts, the power of the storm proved too overwhelming, and the tentage was ultimately lifted high into the air by a forceful gust.

As a result, several people were propelled into the sky, only to be swiftly brought back down to the ground. The chaotic scene left onlookers in awe and disbelief.

One individual, who was carried aloft, experienced a miraculous outcome as they landed on a mahjong table in a private dining room. Although the incident caused quite a scare, fortunately, the person sustained only minor injuries.

Remarkably, they even engaged in conversation with the diners present before departing. Chinese media reports noted that injuries resulting from the incident were relatively minor, although an exact count was not specified.

Responding to the incident, the restaurant’s boss decided to waive the dining fees for all the patrons affected by the unfortunate event.

This act of compassion amounted to approximately RMB50,000 (S$9,400). Understanding the distress and disruption caused to their customers’ dining experiences, the boss made this generous gesture to compensate for the disrupted meals.

As authorities seek to understand the full extent of the incident and its causes, investigations are currently underway. The focus will likely be on factors such as the structural integrity of the tentage and the adherence to safety protocols during extreme weather conditions.

22 Y.O S’POREAN LAW STUDENT DROWNED OFF THE COAST OF TAIWAN, FAMILY SEEKING WITNESSES

0

The family of a 22-year-old Singaporean woman is seeking the assistance of witnesses following her apparent drowning off the coast of Hualien, Taiwan.

Amelia Moo Wen Si’s parents are still mourning her loss, even though it has been over a month since she was discovered on May 7, 2023, and repatriated to Singapore on May 11, 2023.

In their daily visits to her resting place, her parents bring her favorite foods, such as lei cha and sushi, hoping that the circumstances surrounding her tragic death will one day be revealed.

Amelia Moo, a law undergraduate at Singapore Management University, had just completed her final year examinations before her untimely demise.

According to her father’s account to Shin Min Daily News, she traveled to Taiwan from April 28 to May 8, 2023. Despite it being her first time visiting Taitung, he wasn’t concerned as she had previously been to other parts of the island, including Taipei and Tainan.

Suspicion arose on the evening of May 7, 2023, when Amelia didn’t respond to her father’s messages. The last known contact with her was her attempt to call a friend through Telegram messenger at 8:17 pm. However, the friend missed the call and was unable to reach her when they tried to call back around 9 pm.

Alarmed by the lack of communication, Amelia Moo’s father contacted the Taiwan police after 24 hours and sought assistance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Singapore Trade Office in Taipei. He also contacted her hotel, where he discovered that she hadn’t checked out.

Body found floating off the coast

On the afternoon of May 8, 2023, Taiwanese media CTi News reported that Amelia Moo was found floating off the coast of Hualien. At that time, her identity had not yet been confirmed.

Amelia Moo’s father deemed it “impossible” that she had thoughts of taking her own life. Preliminary investigations revealed no signs of physical assault, and local police ruled out foul play.

Determined to uncover clues, her father conducted his own investigation while in Taiwan. He discovered CCTV footage showing her near the beach close to her hotel at approximately 6:05 pm. She was seen walking alone while around 10 other individuals were present on the beach.

During his visit to the beach, he noticed the presence of numerous stray dogs. Considering Amelia’s fear of dogs, her father surmised that she may have been pursued by them, leading to a loss of footing and her subsequent fall into the sea.

Childhood dream of becoming a lawyer

Amelia Moo had aspired to become a lawyer since childhood, and she was on the brink of realizing her dream. With a place secured at a law firm, she only needed to pass the bar exam. Her father had intended to celebrate her upcoming birthday by arranging a yacht outing.

In conclusion, the family of Amelia Moo is appealing for witnesses to shed light on the circumstances surrounding her tragic drowning in Taiwan.

They firmly believe that her death was not a result of self-harm and suspect that she may have been chased by dogs, leading to her fatal accident. Amelia’s untimely demise cut short her aspirations of becoming a lawyer, leaving her family to cope with the profound loss of a bright future.

The assortment of durians available for distribution encompasses a variety of types, such as Red Prawn, Gang Hai, and D13. To ensure fairness, the durians are given out on a first-come, first-served basis, starting from 8pm.

Elderly individuals participating in the campaign can anticipate receiving two to three durians each. Normally priced between S$5 to S$10 per durian, the recipients are able to enjoy these delectable fruits at no cost.

Grateful for the giveaway, these senior citizens expressed their appreciation, citing the high cost of durians. One elderly woman even mentioned that it had been years since she last tasted durian.

Gan, originally from Muar, Malaysia, has been in the durian business for 15 years. His Yishun store has been operating successfully for the past four years.

With business prospering in recent times, Gan felt compelled to give back to society, particularly to the elderly during this economically challenging period. This marks the second year of his giveaway initiative.
