MAN WANTS TO BREAK CONTRACT WITH MNC SO HE CAN JUMP TO A BETTER JOB

0

I’m currently on a 2 yr contract with an MNC that is ending in late Feb, upon which I will get a 1 mth completion bonus. However, as per the T&C of my contract, I am able to tender my resignation by serving one month notice any time within the contract period.

I recently started job hunting and have received a verbal offer (pending official letter) from another company. It’s a full time position. However the company has indicated that due to some upcoming project they would not be able to wait till Mar for me to fulfil my contract at my current company before joining them. They have asked if I am able to do a 1 month notice, as per my contract T&C.

Now, my dilemma is due to the close time frame. Out of obligation I do want to finish the contract but the new company needs me to join in Feb and cannot wait. If I were to resign before my contract is up, I would also lose the completion bonus. I’m concerned I’ll be seen as burning bridges or unprofessional, as I would be leaving in the middle of an important project. Plus, it’s just the last leg of my contract. In an ideal situation I would prefer to finish the contract then join the new Co but unfortunately they cannot wait.

For context, the new job is offering slightly higher than what I’m drawing now. Leave, bonus and benefits are typical, nothing to rave about. However it is a permanent position and there seems to be room for learning and career growth.

Will you choose to forgo the offer since the time isn’t right and just go back to job hunting or break the contract at this awkward juncture and risk burning bridge.

WOMAN LOCKED OUT OF HER HOME, RENTS A CRANE TO LIFT HER INTO HER 4TH-FLOOR UNIT INSTEAD

0

In a quirky turn of events, a woman in Selangor, Malaysia; found herself locked out of her apartment due to a malfunctioning electronic door lock. Faced with the prospect of expensive and troublesome door repairs, she opted for an unconventional solution – a crane.

The Door Dilemma

According to China Press, the trouble began when the resident, Tammy Kin Nee, discovered her home’s electronic lock malfunctioning upon returning. To make matters worse, her spare key was inside the apartment, leaving her stranded outside.

Tammy attempted to contact a locksmith, but was told that the only way to solve her problem would be to break down the door. The estimated costs for breaking the door (RM800), replacing her damaged digital lock and fire-rated door (RM2,000) seemed a tad bit too exorbitant.

The Crane Solution

Frustrated by the repair costs, Tammy noticed a crane used for tree-cutting nearby. A light bulb lit up inside her head and this sparked a creative solution to her dilemma.

Rather than opting for traditional door repairs and spending unnecessary money, she opted for an unorthodox solution and decided to call in a crane to lift her up to her unit, and surprisingly, the rental cost was only RM500, a considerable saving compared to the locksmith’s estimate for breaking and repairing the door.

Contrary to the assumption of living in a high-rise, Tammy’s unit was on the fourth floor. She decided to skip the locksmith’s expensive door-breaking suggestion and chose the unconventional route of using a crane to lift herself onto the balcony.

Tammy didn’t miss the chance to share her adventure on Facebook, playfully suggesting she might consider this method for future homecomings. The post sparked discussions among netizens, praising her ingenuity and applauding the cost-saving approach.

Netizens lauded the live-streaming host for her creativity, with many expressing admiration for her ability to save a significant amount of money through this unconventional solution.

GIRL HAS A WEAKNESS FOR GUYS WEARING MASKS, FINDS IT “SO HOT”

0

I [19F] have a weakness for guys wearing masks.

Yep, pretty much as the title said. I remember always finding the guys in motorcycle racing and motocross insanely attractive.

I’d just assumed I found the sport cool, and by extension the guys attractive until I realised that it applied to really any full mask, paintball masks, full face helmets, jet fighter pilot/pilot helmets, heck even ski mask.

Characters like deadpool were where I realised that it was the masked element I found so hot. Idk what it is maybe it’s the whole mystery aspect of it.

Anywayyy, I don’t know what this says about me and I’ve been too embarrassed to bring it up in person so It’s going to probably stay a fantasy. But goddamn would I like to F a guy in a mask.

Netizens’ comments

  • You should watch the newest Star Wars trilogy. LOTS of masks.
  • Covid says “You’re welcome!”
  • How about gas masks? Those are cool as hell

WOMAN WON $500K FROM LOTTERY BUT KEPT IT A SECRET FROM HUSBAND

0

The lottery winning took place back in August 2014. My husband and I were married in October 2014. It wasn’t a fortune, but enough to make a difference. The winnings were around $500,000. Most people would be over the moon, but I panicked. I didn’t want our life to turn upside down because we had extra money now.

I was still legally single at the time, and so I was able to accept it anonymously without the need to tell anyone else. So I didn’t. Tell anyone else. Not a single soul. Not my husband, my parents, siblings, best friends, etc. Only the state and federal governments.

(My husband has a tendency to spend on things we don’t need and that aren’t going to benefit us in the long run so I didn’t want our money to blown quickly on stupid stuff like cars and clothes.)

I opened a new bank account with a separate bank and put the cheque in. Got started with a financial advisor, who guided me into investing in local businesses and real estate. And that’s that. It’s been sitting there since just growing.

Flash forward to today. I’m doing dishes getting ready to start making dinner, and my phone rings. I can’t get to it but figure I’ll call them back. Then I get a text. No big deal. I’ll get to it in a minute….but my husband came into the kitchen and glanced at my phone to let me know who text me and called me (which he always does if my hands are full).

He called and text me to let me know my account just hit $1 million after one of the energy companies I invested in soared recently.

My husband is stunned. Has no clue what to even say, staring at me until he says “we have a million dollars??” I was so flushed that finally just sat him down and explained the situation. He’s clearly mad at me for never telling him. Asks if my family knows, and I tell him that no one knows except the financial advisor.

It took him a few hours to finally be able to really talk to me.. at the end of the silence he told me he’s proud of me for investing in our future but he needs a few days to clear his head because he feels like I hid a huge part of “myself” from him.

We might just need to take a vacation now.

GUY DUMPED GIRL ON 1ST DATE – PROFILE PIC LOOK DIFFERENT FROM REAL LIFE

0

A girl shared how she met a guy on a dating app and after they went on a date, he then blocked her because he found her “short, ugly, fat and disgusting”.

Here is the story:

“I matched with a guy on Coffee Meets Bagel and I am wondering if he is even interested in me or is just meeting me to satisfy his loneliness. I made the initiative to match with him and say hi to him, and we exchanged our contacts on telegram.

We have loads of fun chatting with each other and I made the initiative of asking him out to watch a movie and had dinner together, and we met up for the first time yesterday and I could somehow sense that he was disappointed that I wasn’t up to his expectations?

I have posted unedited photos of myself and didn’t lie about my height, and from photos, I think that he should know that I am definitely not someone who is tall, skinny nor looked like an influencer type, so I was disappointed when I happened to peep at his phone during our dinner, and he was texting to his friend that he wanted to leave the dinner with me as he was disappointed at me being short, ugly, fat and disgusting.

I pretended that nothing had happened and we chatted like close friends as we got to knew each other more. I told myself that maybe he is just joking only and would delete the message after that.

The day after the date, he had blocked me on telegram, and he left me with a message which stated that he had enjoyed the movie and dinner, but he was upset at himself for being so judgmental as he could not stand being with someone who is like a dinobu, and he admitted that he was being polite throughout the dinner and just treated me as a friend, and just leave me hanging like that. I was so angry and shocked at his reaction that I spent the rest of the day in my room, trying not to cry but I just can’t believe that a decent man like him could treat woman like trash.

I am now having doubts if I could get serious and decent men on dating apps, and looking back, maybe I should called him out directly on the dinner itself if he truly feel that I am short, ugly, fat and disgusting instead of texting to his friend and wanted ‘help’ to escape from me.”

Editor’s note: You deserve much better than him, there are better guys out there.

GUY LETS HIS GF SLEEP WITH OTHER MEN, NOW SHE MIGHT BE PREGNANT

0

My girlfriend might be pregnant with someone else’s child
TL;DR: me [22M] and my gf [23F] are terrified she might be pregnant after a hookup gone wrong

So some context, me and my girlfriend are in an open relationship. We have full veto power over each other’s partners.

The story: So me, 22M and my girlfriend 23F. Have been together for 8 months. Recently she was hooking up with a new friend of hers, he was a bit insistent on not using a condom which made us a little worried. We ultimately decided to go ahead. and the condom suspiciously “broke” while they were in bed.

We’re really worried she might be pregnant. She took plan B but is a bit on the heavier side so effectiveness is iffy at best. It’s only been around a week so we don’t know for sure yet.

She’s moving into my parents house with me in a few days. And I’m TERRIFIED she might be pregnant. We’ve talked about abortion but she doesn’t know yet and of course it’s entirely her choice and I’ll never pressure one way or the other. (Of course I have my own thoughts, but I won’t share them unless she asks)

Right now I’m TERRFIED she’ll decide to keep it. If she does she’ll almost definitely be kicked out of my parents house and I’ll have to change my entire life or leave her. Either one scares me, I love her with all my heart and told her I’d be by her side no matter what. But I also tour 3-6 months a year so I would have to go back to school to change careers.

I would love some advice on any part of this situation
