MAN LOST SAVINGS TO TERRALUNA, FIANCEE CONSIDERS DOING ONLYFANS

0

My fiance has lost money on TerraLuna.

We have been saving up since secondary school. We have plans to BTO, raise beautiful kids and go on dream vacations. All these have come to a naught within a span of just a few days.

The idea of investing in cryptocurrency was first introduced to him by his circle of close friends. He was made to believe that he can make a quick buck and retire early. He took his friends words for it and dabbled into crypto trading.

There were occasions where he would boast to me that he had made a killing which would enable us to realize our dream quicker. Given the volatility of such investment, he assured me that he is well aware of the risk and persuaded me to join as well. Considering that his decision meant well for both of us, I decided to follow suit and entrust my life savings to him in hope that he will not disappoint me.

I should have known better not to do it when he began distancing himself from me and stayed silent on Whatsapp over the past few weeks. Being a concerned partner, I reached out to him to find out how he is doing and to check on our investment. When the topic of investment is raised, he would flare up for no reason and would shout at me over the phone.

A few days ago, a crypto-coin known as TerraLuna (or whatever they call it) made headlines for losing all of its value with allegations made against the founder for fraud.

Worried that it would impact our investment, I phoned my fiance but failed to reach him. I tried to dial his friend only to find out that he had put all his money in this so-called coin only to lose everything. Upon hearing the news, my heart sunk knowing that our hard-earned money were gone and our dreams destroyed. The last I heard about him was from his friend who told me that he had to resort to borrowing from loan sharks in hope to recover his losses only to end up losing more.

We have plans to hold our wedding in Dec which was made known to everyone early this year. Now we have to call it off because of his silly mistake. I can no longer see a future with him and I certainly do not see myself helping with his debt. Heck, I am even contemplating doing OnlyFans to re-build my wealth.

I am v lost as to what to do and how to break the news to everyone about our wedding dismissal should they question about it due to this incident.

MAID IN S’PORE NO MONEY TO BUY BREAD, KINDHEARTED AUNTIE BUYS FOR HER & GAVE HER CASH

0

In the midst of life’s daily struggles, an anonymous domestic helper in Singapore found herself in a moment of despair.

She candidly expressed her emotions, stating, “Just now, I broke into tears.”

Her touching story began when she attempted to purchase a simple loaf of bread and realized her cash was missing, compelling her to cancel her order.

But what happened next was nothing short of extraordinary. Out of the blue, a stranger approached her and offered not only the bread she intended to buy but also some cash, placing it into her plastic bag.

Repaying Kindness

Touched by the stranger’s remarkable gesture, the helper felt a strong desire to express her gratitude. She asked for the woman’s number, because she wanted to repay her for her kindness.

However, the woman declined to share her contact information. Undeterred, the helper turned to the public for help, imploring anyone who might know the kind soul to inform her.

Her words echoed her heartfelt wish to return the favor. She said in her Facebook post that maybe someone online knows her, and urged them to inform her.

She said that she wished to visit her and repay her for her kind gesture, as she attached a photo of the woman’s backview, while the latter waited at a bus stop somewhere along Boon Keng.

A Heartwarming Gesture

This touching narrative serves as a reminder of the significance of small acts of compassion and the unexpected kindness that can brighten even the darkest of times.

In a world often filled with negativity and complaints, the actions of this stranger have touched the hearts of many.

MAN SAYS HIS DIPLOMA CERT ONLY GET $2.1K SALARY, CANNOT SUSTAIN LIFE

0

I earn $2.1k under one of the ministries with a diploma cert

I gradated one year ago and they offered me this salary stating that it is the job market and is reasonable.

I find it very sad how diploma certs are no longer enough to sustain a lifestyle. Gamen has always said that diploma cert is enough but after getting my after my take home pay is $1.6k per month, I find it hard to support my elderly parents and to start a family of my own.

$1.6k – food – transport – bills = there is barely any money left and to support elderly parents as it is viewed that we must support our parents, “The Maintenance of Parents Act provides for Singapore residents aged 60 years old and above who are unable to subsist on their own, to claim maintenance from their children.”

Of course, I love my parents but with such little amount of money left, how do you start a family?

Degree is necessary to ensure a higher pay to live in Singapore.

Here are what netizens think:

  • There are private courses you can take to prepare yourself for the future. Don’t take a degree to realise that you’re learning outdated stuff.
  • Quite sure there is something wrong about your work. You are getting the salary roughly similar to a full time cleaner.
  • Upgrade and hunt for better jobs while you continue to work. The worst thing you can do is to stay there for 5 to 10 years if you’re already unhappy now.
  • We are just waiting for education inflation to worsen.
  • Now a days cert are just for upgrading yourself. Work experience and upgrading yourself Is the way to help u get better pay
  • You are paid lower than Malaysians holding a spm cert, which is lower than our local o levels cert. If your salary is not paying you a liveable wage, find a job that will or upskill yourself.

CHINA UNCLE SLAMS WOMAN IN VIRAL SGH SAGA, SAYS THERE ARE MANY “BIG BABIES” IN CHINA

0

In a world fueled by social media, stories go viral in a matter of seconds. One such incident took place at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH) involving a 29-year-old woman from China named Han Feizi, who went viral after a video showed her in a heated exchange with an investigation officer (IO) at SGH after allegedly insulting a nurse.

China uncle speaks up for Singapore

This incident sparked intense debates both in Singapore and China. While many of Han Feizi’s supporters saw this as an injustice against one of their own people and demanded the release of CCTV footage and the IO’s identity, an uncle from China took a different stance.

A Douyin user in China, by the username “老导演的快乐生活“, posted a video responding to the incident and criticized Han Feizi and her supporters, referring to them as “big babies” and said that they had “glass hearts”.

The CCTV Footage Debate

He addressed her supporters calling for the hospital CCTV footage to be released, saying that many countries around the world, including Singapore, have restrictions of the usage of CCTV footage, and that only the police and other authorities had the authority to release them.

He argued that China’s extensive surveillance systems, not applicable in Singapore, made this argument irrelevant.

The IO’s Hidden Identity

On the issue of the IO not revealing her identification, the uncle clarified that both the China and Singapore police do not allow others to take photos or videos of their identification documents (Han was filming the police woman at the time).

The uncle said that if Han had stopped filming, the officer would have definitely displayed her identification documents. But as Han was filming the whole interaction, she couldn’t do that as it would pose a risk to herself.

Claims of Discrimination

He vehemently denied claims of discrimination against Chinese nationals in Singapore. The uncle accused Han Feizi’s supporters of making exaggerated claims of discrimination and pointed out that in the modern world, few instances of genuine discrimination against Chinese people occur.

The uncle emphasized that Singapore’s medical care facilities are some of the best in Asia and stressed that many of them do not tolerate verbal insults against their staff. He considered it normal and reasonable for the police to investigate and charge individuals who engage in such behavior.

GIRL FOUND OUT BF HAS BEEN TALKING TO FEMALE FRIEND ABOUT “NAUGHTY” STUFF

0

My 23M bf has a close female friend (Girl A) that is like a confidant of his. They would meet up a few times a year to chitchat about life and occasionally text one another.

Previously  i asked what they were chatting about during their meetups as it often takes 3-4 hrs for each meeting. He mentioned they were just gossiping about their ex classmates and some boring life talks which is normal and understandable on why they had never invited me to join for dinner.

Last week, i made a new friend which happens to be Girl A’s good friend and my bf’s acquaintance. She mentioned that Girl A had occasionally shared their conversation topics from those meet up sessions with her and its usually comprises of one of them asking advice for their relationship, and also frequently involve discussions of a more explicit nature e.g how to self pleasure and how to get better in bed etc.

After hearing it, i just dont feel comfortable knowing that such personal stuff about our relationship and intimacy are made known to someone outside our relationship. Furthermore knowing that he may be twisting the facts about the conversations they had during their catchups. As my bf and Girl A has been friends for a decade, he probably had been discussing all these issues with her prior to getting attached with me and I want to respect that privacy of his.

But how can i go about asking him respectfully refrain from discussing such intimate and personal issues with Girl A in the future?

CYNTHIA KOH SAYS TOO LATE FOR HER TO BE A MUM NOW, KEEPS BUSY TO PREVENT LONELINESS

0

In the movie “Confinement,” directed by acclaimed local director Kelvin Tong, 49-year-old actress Cynthia Koh takes on the role of Ah Qing, a nanny entrusted with the care of a newborn by Rebecca Lim’s character, in the psychological thriller.

Cynthia Koh’s character in “In Confinement” is that of a nanny who must take care of the infant. It’s a challenging role that required her to undergo pre-production training to handle the baby convincingly.

Cynthia Koh’s Personal Choice

In her personal life, Cynthia Koh has made a conscious decision to remain child-free. She spoke to The Straits Times and shared that it is already too late for her to become a mother herself.

Throughout the 2-week shoot of the movie, where she spent a lot of time with the baby, she revealed that she didn’t feel any yearnings to become a mother.

Although the thought of motherhood did cross her mind in the past, she said that she used to believe that childbirth was a responsibility for all women, but the practicalities of life led her on a different path.

The Challenges of Motherhood

Koh’s early plan when she was younger, was to start dating and potentially settle down around the age of 27. However, life had other plans.

Local men, she realized, were often in the early stages of their careers at that age, making it financially challenging to start a family.

She was also apprehensive about dating older men, fearing control or incompatibility. Time passed quickly, and before she knew it, the window for traditional motherhood had closed.

The Realization and Acceptance

Today, Cynthia Koh remains childless and single, having embraced her independent and fulfilling life. She keeps herself busy with work and by trying new experiences, effectively keeping away her loneliness.

She then reflected on her early plans and urged other women not to plan too much.

The idea of adoption did cross Koh’s mind at one point, but it was more of a fleeting thought than a concrete plan. Her focus shifted towards embracing her unique path in life.

In her early 40s, her mother suggested the possibility of getting pregnant using donor, a suggestion that Koh found amusing. She rejected the idea and said that she is already past the nagging stage and that it’s okay if she cannot become a parent.

The movie Confinement opens in theatres this Thursday (19 October).

GIRL LAUGHED WHEN SHE FOUND OUT SHE HAS LEUKEMIA, TOO SHOCKED

0

I laughed when I found out I had cancer, I know it sounds kinda odd, but I (F) (Would rather not say my age) laughed when I found out that I have cancer.

Two years ago in February of 2020 I got a lot of nosebleeds (around 3 a day) after a week my mother took me to the hospital.

I got my blood drawn and they said I had to come back there the next day. I did. They did something called a “bone marrow draw” and figured out I had cancer.

(This is where it gets weird) I just started to laugh, I didn’t think they were joking but I still laughed.

When I told my best friend, she started crying but I still laughed. I have suffered from Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, a very rare type of cancer, for two years.

And sometimes. I laugh about it.

Netizens’ comments

  • Sometimes laughing is all we can do. Keep your head up, and keep laughing. Look life in the face and shout “is that all you got?!”And then fight it with all your worth.

HDB CLEANER KAYSIAO POSE FOR PHOTO OF HIMSELF SWEEPING CORRIDOR, THEN LEAVES WITHOUT SWEEPING

0

An estate cleaner has drawn flak from netizens after he was caught posing for his colleague to take a photo of him at work at around 6.30pm on Oct 6, allegedly as “proof” that he had swept that area of the corridor.

Photo proof

In a world where every moment can be shared with the click of a button, a seemingly innocuous incident involving an estate cleaner has sparked controversy.

This cleaner, wearing an Aljunied-Hougang Town Council (AHTC) uniform, found himself in the middle of a social media storm when a colleague captured him posing with his broom and dustpan.

The incident, which unfolded on the evening of October 6th, has left netizens questioning whether it was an attempt to put on a show or simply a misunderstanding.

The Viral Video

The incident came to the public’s attention through a 13-second-long video uploaded on TikTok by user Rafeyan, a Sengkang resident.

In this video, the cleaner, who was wearing an Aljunied-Hougang Town Council uniform, can be seen walking behind his colleague, who then motions for him to stand at the end of a corridor for a photo.

With nonchalance, he strikes a pose with his cleaning equipment and proceeds to briefly sweep a small area. His coworker hastily captures this moment, and both individuals depart the scene shortly after.

The video is accompanied by Rafeyan’s caption, “Employee of the month. Must take photo show proof.”

Public Reaction

The video quickly went viral, garnering thousands of views, comments, and shares. Netizens across various social media platforms expressed their disbelief and, in some cases, outrage at the cleaner’s actions.

Some questioned the integrity of the cleaner’s role, while others condemned what they perceived as a staged photo op.

15 Y.O SCHOOLBOY DEAD AFTER FALLING OFF ROPE COURSE @ YISHUN SAFRA, 23 Y.O MAN TO PLEAD GUILTY

0

23-year-old Muhammad Nurul Hakim Mohamed Din, is accused of causing the death of Puah Xin Yang Jethro, a 15-year-old student, during a high-element rope course At Yishun SFRA.

This incident occurred at the SAFRA Adventure Sports Centre in Yishun, Singapore, during a school camp. The deceased was suspended from his safety harness during the activity and ended up suffering from organ failure, before he died, according to Channel NewsAsia.

The Incident

The tragedy that occurred at the SAFRA Adventure Sports Centre was a result of a fatal lapse in safety measures. Muhammad Nurul Hakim faces a charge of a rash act that does not amount to culpable homicide.

This charge stems from his alleged failure to ensure that both the leg straps of Jethro’s safety harness were properly buckled and adjusted before dispatching him onto the rope course.

Jethro’s demise was a result of multi-organ failure, which occurred after his neck was compressed, leading to traumatic asphyxia.

He was left suspended in a loose harness after falling off the rope course, and his leg straps became completely unbuckled.

The Role of Muhammad Nurul Hakim

At the time of the incident, Muhammad Nurul Hakim was working as the dispatcher of the Canopy Sky Walk rope course that was organized by the outdoor adventure learning company Camelot.

As the dispatcher, Muhammad Nurul Hakim had a critical responsibility to ensure the safety of participants, which, tragically, was not fulfilled in this case.

The consequences of this incident were severe and heartbreaking. A young student lost his life due to a mishap that could have been prevented with proper safety measures. The tragic events led to the loss of a promising life and brought immense grief to the victim’s family and community.

SAFRA Yishun said in a statement last year that the incident was a “mishap”, and revealed that the deceased was taking part in a camp programme by ACS (Independent).

Muhammad Nurul Hakim’s Travel Plans

In a recent development, Muhammad Nurul Hakim expressed his intention to the court on 16 October, asking for permission to leave Singapore temporarily. He plans to travel to Dubai and the United Arab Emirates from November 5 to November 15.

His purpose for this travel is to represent the Singapore Silat Federation as an international technical official at two international events.

The court, while granting permission for Muhammad Nurul Hakim’s travel, imposed several conditions. He is required to provide additional bail of S$5,000 (US$3,651) and submit his complete travel itinerary to the investigating officer before departure.

Additionally, he must remain contactable and surrender his passport within 24 hours of his return.

Upcoming Court Date

Muhammad Nurul Hakim is set to return to court for his guilty plea on November 22. This date will mark a crucial step in the legal proceedings and bring the case closer to a resolution.
