DELIVEROO RIDER SHOUTING AT DOOR, STRESSED WOMAN RUSH OUT OF SHOWER TO COLLECT FOOD

0

A woman in Singapore used Deliveroo for the first time, unaware of certain delivery options, she found herself in a distressing situation that left her feeling vulnerable and concerned about her privacy.

First time ordering on Deliveroo

The woman, Ms. Lim, decided to try out Deliveroo for the first time. Eager to enjoy a meal at home, she placed an order through a web browser on a rainy Thursday evening (20 July).

Unbeknownst to Ms. Lim, Deliveroo offers two delivery options – contactless delivery and a two-digit pin code system. Unfortunately, she was not aware of this choice and proceeded without selecting either option.

She also left instructions for the rider to leave her food order outside her unit, at the shoe rack because her doorbell was not working.

While waiting for her order, Ms. Lim realized she needed a shower after getting caught in the rain earlier. Assuming the delivery would be straightforward, she decided to proceed with her shower.

As Ms. Lim was in the shower, the delivery rider arrived at her doorstep and attempted to get her attention by shouting.

Feeling anxious about potential disturbances to her neighbor’s peace, the concerned and alarmed woman then rushed out of the shower, wrapped only in a towel, to collect her food.

To her surprise and dismay, the rider demanded a two-digit pin code to complete the delivery. Unaware of this requirement, Ms. Lim was caught off guard and felt as though she was being held hostage for her food.

She also saw the rider staring at her as she was only wrapped up in a towel and nothing else.

Feeling cornered and vulnerable, Ms. Lim hurriedly retrieved the pin code from her laptop in her living room. During this process, she worried that the rider might have taken images or videos of her in her state of undress.

Despite providing the pin code, Ms. Lim remained hesitant to collect her food until the rider left the vicinity. Once the rider had departed, she felt a mix of relief and distress over the entire ordeal.

Following the unsettling incident, Ms. Lim contacted Deliveroo to express her concerns and discomfort. However, as of 23 July, she claimed to have received no response from the company.

Feeling that her privacy and safety were compromised, Ms. Lim made a police report regarding the incident, seeking to address the issue and ensure that no other customers face a similar situation.

Ms. Lim, in reflection, questions why Deliveroo’s website did not provide clear information about the two-digit pin code option. With better communication, she believes the entire ordeal could have been avoided.

POLICE OFFICER WHO WAS FOUND DEAD @ YISHUN, LEFT 4-MIN VOICE NOTE TO FRIEND

0

In a heart-wrenching Facebook post, a close friend of the late police officer, Mr. Uvaraja S/O Gopal, who was found dead at the foot of an HDB block in Yishun, has shared his thoughts and insights into the life and struggles of the deceased, according to MustShareNews.

The post not only pays tribute to the fallen officer’s dedication towards crime-fighting but also sheds light on the challenges and anxieties he faced leading up to his tragic passing.

A Tribute to a Dedicated Crime-Fighter

The Facebook post, written by Mr. Raj Naga, a former colleague and senior paracounsellor in the same police division as Mr. Uvaraja, expressed admiration for the late officer’s unwavering dedication to serving the public.

Mr. Uvaraja had a deep passion for crime-fighting and firmly believed in upholding the values of the police force.

A Voice Message of Despair

Mr. Raj revealed that Mr. Uvaraja had sent him a voice message before his passing, which was four minutes long. Unfortunately, due to his absence, Mr. Raj could not listen to the message immediately.

When he eventually listened to it, he was struck by the despair and anguish in his friend’s voice as he shared his experiences.

Struggles and Conflicts

According to Mr. Raj, the late officer started facing problems in late 2015. These issues included conflicts with teammates and his commanding officer, leading to anxiety attacks and difficulty sleeping.

Amidst these challenges, Mr. Uvaraja was also caring for his mother, who was recovering from a head injury.

Seeking Help and Facing Adversity

Mr. Uvaraja reported an alleged racial slur incident to his commanding officer, but his claim was allegedly not supported by his other teammates.

Additionally, he had to undergo two surgeries and faced scrutiny over the validity of his medical condition during a medical leave. All these incidents took a toll on his morale and exacerbated his sleep issues.

A Display of Courage and Resilience

Despite the adversities he faced, Mr. Uvaraja showed remarkable courage and unwavering loyalty to the force. His integrity remained intact.

He sought to transfer to a different division, but his request was declined due to a low-performance grade, which further impacted his morale.

The Legacy of Mr. Uvaraja

Mr. Raj’s heartfelt post praises Mr. Uvaraja for embodying the core values of the police force throughout his career.

Despite the challenges he encountered, he remained steadfast in his commitment to his duty and his fellow officers. Mr. Uvaraja’s legacy is one of courage, resilience, and unwavering dedication.

A Tragic End and a Request for the Truth

Mr. Uvaraja’s life came to a tragic end when he was found motionless at the foot of an HDB block in Yishun. Before his passing, he had tagged Mr. Raj in his final Facebook post, instructing him to tell the truth about what he knew.

Call for Thorough Investigation

Law and Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam has instructed the police force to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter, as he called the allegations “serious” and that he has “asked SPF to investigate the matter thoroughly. We will get to the bottom of it. And be accountable.”

ANG MOH TOURIST CALLS OUR TAMPINES HUB “WORLD’S WEIRDEST STADIUM” & “BIZARRE”

Football, the beautiful game, has an unparalleled ability to bring people together from different corners of the world. It has the power to create dedicated enthusiasts who are willing to go to great lengths to witness the thrill of the sport in person.

One such passionate football fan, Sam North, embarked on an extraordinary journey from the United Kingdom to Singapore, covering over 10,000km, all for the love of football as he ventured to Singapore to watch a local match between Geylang International and Hougang United at the renowned Our Tampines Hub on July 12.

World’s Weirdest Stadium

Sam North’s adventure began when he set foot on the grounds of Our Tampines Hub, which immediately left him in awe.

The stadium’s unconventional design, modernity, and pristine cleanliness were nothing like any football ground he had encountered before.

As he gazed at the structure, he couldn’t help but wonder if it truly housed a football stadium. The intriguing aura of the stadium piqued his curiosity and fueled his excitement for the game ahead.

As Sam made his way to the stadium from Tampines MRT station, he let the world know about his presence at the game by checking in on an app called Futbology.

The app hinted at Sam’s underlying motive for traveling such great distances to watch football matches in different countries. It revealed that he had a bucket list of football games to experience across the globe, and Singapore was one of the destinations he was eager to check off.

Upon entering Our Tampines Hub, Sam found himself bewildered amidst a multitude of shops and eateries, and locating the football stadium became a puzzling task.

However, he was impressed by the sense of community and modernity at the mall/stadium. He admired how the venue hosted various community sports events alongside football matches, fostering a sense of inclusivity and unity.

As Sam continued his exploration of the stadium, he stumbled upon unexpected delights. A running track within the complex caught his attention, and he couldn’t contain his excitement as he spotted people jogging around it.

This unusual feature added to the stadium’s distinctiveness and left Sam in awe of Singapore’s commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle within the community.

Another astonishing find was the eco-community garden situated atop the stadium. Sam marveled at the ingenuity of incorporating such green spaces in a sports facility.

The presence of the garden highlighted Singapore’s dedication to environmental sustainability and provided a unique vantage point to admire the surroundings.

Reflecting on his journey, Sam admitted that he initially anticipated merely attending a football match, making a video, and celebrating his love for the sport.

However, the experience surpassed his expectations by revealing the hidden gems and wonders of Our Tampines Hub. The combination of modernity, community spirit, and sustainable practices made it an enigmatic stadium worth visiting.

He said that he was initially planning on making a video about him traveling 10,000km to watch a football match, but didn’t expect how bizarre and fascinating the stadium would turn out to be.

53 Y.O WHO HIT & KILLED S’PORE MAN WITH HIS PORSCHE IN TAIWAN, FACES LIFE IN JAIL

0

On November 1, 2022, a tragic incident occurred in Taipei, resulting in the death of a Singaporean flight attendant who had arrived in Taiwan on leave.

The cause of the unfortunate demise was a drunk driving accident involving a 53-year-old man surnamed Hsiang, who rammed his Porsche into the victim, resulting in a fatal collision.

A Fatal Collision

The accident occurred around 9 pm on a rainy and dark night, where the victim, a man believed to be in his 30s or 40s, was attempting to cross the road, according to Taiwan News.

Hsiang hit the flight attendant with his Porsche, but despite slamming the brakes, the car didn’t stop immediately, sliding for a significant distance of 72.5 meters. The impact left a deep dent in the car’s hood and critically injured the victim.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but, unfortunately, medical efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at 10 pm.

It was later revealed that this was not Hsiang’s first encounter with drunk driving. He had previously been convicted of the same offense in two separate incidents, according to Focus Taiwan.

In 2019, he faced a four-month sentence for each case and had his driver’s license revoked. Despite the previous convictions, Hsiang had been released on bail after the latest incident.

Taipei prosecutors swiftly took action and indicted Hsiang for his reckless actions. He now faces a potential sentence ranging from five years to lifetime imprisonment, as well as a hefty fine of up to NT$3 million (S$127,385).

Alcohol Impairment and Negligence

Hsiang claimed that he had only consumed “a few glasses of red wine” during dinner with friends before the accident. He insisted that the alcohol did not hinder his reactions and blamed the rainy and dark conditions for the collision.

However, the police discovered that his blood alcohol level significantly exceeded the legal limit at the time of the accident, indicating a clear case of alcohol impairment.

According to TVBS, Hsiang said that he was “unlucky” and that he had stopped drinking at 4-5pm before going for a massage, and then to his shop before driving home.

Additionally, there was a “no pedestrian crossing” sign on the street where the victim attempted to cross, raising questions about negligence on both sides.

XIAO DIDI RIDES SCOOTER ACROSS TRAFFIC JUNCTION & ALMOST CANCELS HIS OWN PUBERTY

In a heart-stopping incident on Wednesday (Jul. 19) around 4 pm, a young boy was caught cutting dangerously across a junction along North Buona Vista Road on his kick scooter, narrowly avoiding being hit by an oncoming car.

The incident, which took place along North Buona Vista Road, has since gained attention after footage of the near miss, which was captured on the dashcam of another vehicle that was nearby at the time, was uploaded to SGRV FRONT MAN’s Facebook page.

The Heart-Stopping Moment

Footage of the near miss accident was shared on the SGRV Facebook page. The video shows a young boy confidently riding his kick scooter, attempting to cross the junction diagonally.

As he reaches the middle of the road, he briefly glances to his left and, to his horror, spots a black car approaching at high speed. The driver of the car blasts the horn, alerting the young boy to the imminent danger he faces.

Reacting quickly, the young boy manages to slow down just in the nick of time, avoiding the oncoming car by mere inches.

It’s clear that his quick reflexes and the driver’s swift reaction were the only things preventing a potentially catastrophic collision. The video description aptly states, “This is clearly a miracle he was not hit.”

What camcar driver said

On 18 July, 2023, Time 15.57, I was travelling on North Buona Vista Road towards AYE. At the junction where MOE Building on left, and Star Vista on right, there was a *secondary school name redacted* boy on scooter, crossing the road.

Next moment, he scooted across the yellow box, and near miss with an oncomng car, travelling from Star Vista towards Metropolis

The boy is small built, and it is not surprising the oncoming car would have missed seeing him. This is clearly a miracle he was not hit. However, I would like to alert the parent of this boy, that someone can alert him of the danger

AH MA TAKE CHOPPER CONFRONT NEIGHBOUR @ SENGKANG, THROWS SOIL AT THEIR UNIT

Living in close quarters with neighbors is a common part of life, especially in Singapore’s public housing flats. While most people are understanding of occasional noises from above, the elderly couple in question had a different perspective.

An elderly couple residing in Sengkang alleged that their upstairs neighbor was causing them constant disturbance and resorted to extreme measures to express their discontent.

The incident was shared via a series of Instagram stories by Nicole Wong, who revealed the harassment that she allegedly faced.

Throwing soil

The alleged harassment began even before the upstairs neighbor, Nicole, moved into her Sengkang unit.

While renovation works were underway, an elderly woman from the unit below reportedly threw soil at Nicole’s front door, expressing her frustration with the construction noise. This initial incident set the stage for future conflicts.

Banging ceiling

Nicole recounted that, despite her efforts to keep noise levels down, the elderly couple started banging on their ceiling frequently.

These incidents occurred even when Nicole’s family was not making any noise at all. The couple’s grievances seemed to extend beyond specific instances of noise disturbance, hinting at deeper issues.

Accusations and Counter-Accusations

The elderly woman occasionally shouted from her unit, accusing Nicole’s family of disturbing her, even when the noises were as mundane as shower sounds.

When confronted, the couple would allegedly claim that the residents were ganging up against them.

Loud Thumping at Odd Hours

The situation escalated when Nicole was awakened at 4 am by loud thumping sounds. Frustrated and upset, she called the police. Strangely, the noise stopped as soon as the police were involved.

However, the incidents continued, prompting Nicole to seek further assistance.

The Alleged Medicinal Odor

During one incident, the elderly couple alleged that they smelled a medicinal odor. While this claim seemed unrelated to the noise issue, it added to the confusion and tension between the neighbors.

Escalation and Police Intervention

Nicole called the police on multiple occasions when confronted by the elderly couple. The situation reached a point where the police were frequently involved in resolving conflicts between the neighbors. The ongoing disturbances caused distress to all parties involved.

The swordswoman of Sengkang

A video shared by Nicole captured a heated confrontation between the elderly woman and the previous owner of Nicole’s flat.

During this confrontation, the elderly woman brandished a large chopper and made violent gestures with it. The confrontation escalated to the point where she allegedly threatened to hurt herself, necessitating the intervention of the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), who set up inflatable air cushions under the block as a precaution.

– Seeking Help for the Elderly Couple

Despite facing harassment, Nicole expressed reluctance to take legal action against the elderly couple. Instead, she sought help to identify their sons to ensure they received appropriate mental health assessments.

She reached out to her Member of Parliament (MP) Jamus Lim for assistance, who purportedly told the elderly couple’s son to get help for his parents but the son alleged refused.

MINIMUM GPA FOR ITE STUDENTS TO ENTER POLY WILL BE RAISED FROM 2.0 TO 2.5 IN 2027

Top 10% of Higher Nitec students guaranteed entry to polytechnics from AY2027 intake

To expand opportunities for Institute of Technical Education (ITE) students to upgrade to a polytechnic diploma, Higher Nitec students who meet a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 will be guaranteed admission to a polytechnic course mapped to their Higher Nitec course from AY2027.

2. This is part of a broader set of changes to the admissions requirements to ITE and the polytechnics, which aims to support students’ aspirations and enhance opportunities and outcomes. They include:

  1. For ITE graduates entering polytechnics from the AY2027 polytechnic intake:
    1. a) Extension of polytechnic progression guarantee to all Higher Nitec students who attain raw GPA of 3.5 or more; and
    2. b) Changes in Minimum Entry Requirements for Higher Nitec students progressing to polytechnics.
  2. For secondary school leavers entering ITE from AY2028 ITE intake: Changes in admission requirements for direct entry into Year 2 of Higher Nitec.

Extension of polytechnic progression guarantee

3. The Direct-Entry Scheme to Polytechnic Programme (DPP) currently allows Normal (Academic) stream students to be admitted directly into a 2-year Higher Nitec programme at ITE without having to sit for the O-Level examinations or undergo a Nitec programme. DPP students who meet the qualifying GPA are guaranteed a place in a mapped polytechnic course.

4. From the AY2027 polytechnic intake, polytechnic admission will be guaranteed to all Higher Nitec students with a minimum raw GPA of 3.5. This is expected to benefit the top 10% of Higher Nitec graduates, or around 1,000 students across all Higher Nitec courses. Currently, around 900 DPP graduates per year across all 18 DPP courses qualify for the polytechnic progression guarantee. With the removal of stream labels under Full Subject-Based Banding (Full SBB), the DPP pathway will cease from the AY2028 ITE intake.

Minimum Entry Requirements for ITE upgraders to progress to polytechnics

5. Today, most Higher Nitec students who progress to polytechnics attain a net GPA of 2.5 and above. To ensure students can better cope with the academic rigour of a polytechnic education, the minimum entry requirements (MERs) for ITE upgraders to progress to polytechnics will be raised from net GPA 2.0 to net GPA 2.5 from the AY2027 polytechnic intake.

6. In addition to the polytechnic diploma, all Higher Nitec graduates can continue to upgrade via the Work-Study Diploma (WSDip) and Technical Diploma (TD) pathways, which offer valuable hands-on, apprenticeship-based training and ensure students are equipped with industry-relevant skills. Today, 1,400 places are offered across both WSDip and TD pathways. This will grow to 1,800 places by 2025. ITE will continue to expand its WSDip and TD offerings to provide more upgrading opportunities to ITE graduates.

Admission requirements for direct entry to Year 2 of Higher Nitec from AY2028 ITE intake

7. ITE is on track to transit all Nitec courses to the enhanced three-year curricular structure leading directly to a Higher Nitec certification by AY2026. Today, the Higher Nitec pathway is accessible to O-Level students, a limited number of Normal (Academic) stream students via the DPP, and Nitec upgraders.

8. With the removal of stream labels under Full SBB, admission requirements for direct entry into Year 2 for all Higher Nitec courses will be set at G2 from AY2028. Students taking a combination of G3 and G2 subjects can apply for direct entry into Year 2 of Higher Nitec, as long as they obtain an ELMAB3 aggregate score of 19 points or better1. G3 subjects will be mapped to G2 for the computation of the aggregate score2.

9. Taken together, the revised admissions requirements to post-secondary pathways will expand access to upgrading opportunities, provide more flexibility and better recognise students’ strengths and interests, while ensuring academic rigour and students’ ability to cope with the curriculum. Secondary schools, ITE and the polytechnics will also continue to provide Education and Career Guidance (ECG) to support students. Students who require more targeted ECG support can continue to approach their teachers and lecturers for advice, or approach ECG counsellors for individual or group counselling.

COUPLE “TOOK A BREAK” AFTER FIGHT, GUY ASKS FOR 1 WEEK EXTENSION

0

A netizen shared how she got into a fight with her boyfriend and they took a break for a couple of weeks.

However, after the 2 weeks went by the boyfriend then asked for another week’s extension.

Here is the story:

“Recently, my boyfriend and I got into a fight (work-related) and I told him that I needed some time alone and said he’ll check up on me in 2 weeks.

After 2 weeks, I texted to check up on him to see if he was okay. There was a huge shift in his texting and I could tell something was up.

He said he was tired and he needed to take care of his mom (she’s sick) and tells me that he is not ready to love?

In response, I replied with “I feel bad for not being there for you” and he replies with “you wouldn’t have made a difference” and it really shocked me.

Does he hate me now? I really think he’s in a bad place and I understand that this year has taken a huge emotional toll on him with him juggling his work and taking care of his mom.

He ends the convo with he wants to extend the break for another week to clear out his mind.

Will this potentially lead to us breaking up?”

Editor’s note: No offence but a permanent break up is probably where you guys are headed to, inevitably.

GF FOUND BF HIDING PANTIES OF EX-GF IN HIS CAR

0

We’ve been together for a little under a year (10 months to be exact). It got serious pretty fast. He was 3 months out of a 4 year relationship before we met. Red flag, I know.

A few days ago, I was rummaging through the glove compartment of his car (while he was inside, driving) for some CD’s and found a crumpled-up pair of panties. I knew they were not mine. To be frank, they were trashy. The first time I opened the compartment he promptly closed it, which I figured was to keep all his from flying out while we were moving. Then I opened it again, and kept rummaging, until I saw them there. I seemed to have done this just as he was saying “Please don’t go through my stuff”. Our mutual friend was also in the car, so I didn’t say anything in the moment. I was shocked. He knew I saw them.

Later that night, I told my friend what had happened in the car and she excused herself so we could talk asap. I asked him for the keys so I could go grab the panties and throw them in his face. He was hesitant to give me the keys, but did. When i went back, they were gone. I looked everywhere. He had moved them.

I confronted him about it but took it all with a grain of salt. He said they were his ex’s and she left them in there after fooling around in his car during quarantine. He would remember they were there from time to time but kept putting off throwing them out, because “memories”. He says he swears they’re in the dumpster now and that he has never cheated on me. But I can’t shake the feeling that he’s lying about something. Could be about how the panties got there, how long ago she left them(cheating), or if they’re even hers. And the most suspicious thing, moving the panties when he already knew I saw them.

Of course, he’s on perfect behavior now. But I don’t know if we can move past this. He’s shown me before that he’s a liar.

What should I do? I am leaning towards leaving him but I could use some advice. I love him, but this hurts so much.
