CHEAPO COMPANY ASK INTERVIEWEE TO PAY BACK FOR COFFEE BECAUSE HE REJECTS JOB

A cheapo company recently made headlines after asking an interviewee to pay back for the coffee that was provided to him during the interview.

The interviewee had rejected the job offer and was astonished to receive an invoice for the coffee. This incident has caused a stir in the public and has raised questions about how a company should treat its interviewees.

The man who posted the screenshots on Facebook said:

Never once encounter this type of people/company before – ****************** Bring to coffee shop for interview, and when declined ask money for coffee back. Really a first.

After transferring the money the man said:

I’ve been to quite a number of interviews, but nobody has asked me to pay them back for a cup of coffee. Had I known I would have paid on the day itself, now it just seems unprofessional, please do tell your next potential hires that they’re required to compensate for the coffee if they decide not to proceed any further. Leaves a bad taste done like this. Guess I dodged a bullet here, thanks for your time.

Refund:

After the incident got viral, the company quickly refunded the amount and apologize to the man who was told to pay for the coffee.

“Didn’t think it would get so viral, that night I got into contact with her supervisor and she refunded the amount back. No replies from her though.”

Here are what netizens think:

  • Should have told her to collect herself from u in cash..then pay her all 10cents coin…
  • This is a notorious MLM by the way.
  • they only did that cuz your post went viral . Paynow back her the 6.50
  • They just want to lowball you. Weather they take back the $6.50 or not is no bog deal. If have is a bonus, if no at least tgey make you Dulan. But this type of people very petty. Should make the famous. The $6.50 should be a marketing cost.
  • I would’ve transferred $20 for my coffee, his and his boss’s coffee, and tell them to keep the 50 cents change .

MAN WANTS TO GIVE UP GETTING A DRIVING LICENSE AFTER FAILING FOR 4 TIMES

0

I have always been passionate about driving. As soon as I turned 18, I immediately set off to obtain my driving license.

It took me a few months of hard work and preparation, but I was finally ready to take my driving test.

Unfortunately, I failed the test four times in a row.

At first, I was determined to keep trying until I passed the test. I thought that the fifth time would be my lucky charm and that I would finally be able to get my license. However, after failing the fourth time, I started to feel discouraged and demotivated.

I was starting to lose hope in ever getting my license, and I was considering giving up altogether.

My friends and family were very supportive throughout the entire process, and they kept encouraging me to keep trying. They reminded me that I had done everything I could to prepare for the test and that I was capable of passing it.

But I couldn’t help but feel like I had hit a wall and that nothing I did was going to make a difference.

I struggled with my decision for a long time. On one hand, I was scared of failing again. On the other hand, I was scared of not trying and missing out on the opportunity to become a licensed driver. I kept going back and forth between these two options, not knowing what to do.

Can anyone provide me with some advice on how I can pass the TP.

I feel like the driving centre is sucking my hard-earned money.

Here are what netizens think:

  • Of course sucking your money lah, our license so expensive to get. The amount of money you paid to get one license can pay season parking for almost 2 years.
  • Aiya, don’t bother la, car also so expensive, take loan, installment end up just a vehicle. MRT bus the same.
  • Try again lah, no big deal, my friend took 8 times. Finally got it but got caught for drink driving. HAHA

MAN FOUND OUT HIS GF HAS BEEN GETTING INSURANCE CUSTOMERS WITH SKIMPY DRESS

0

My girlfriend has been getting insurance customers with skimpy dress. I hate seeing her dress this way, but she swears it’s the only way she can get people to sign up for policies.

I don’t understand why she feels the need to do this. I understand that she needs to make a living, but I believe there are other ways to go about it. She doesn’t need to show off her body to strangers just to get them to sign up for insurance.

Insurance agent

I’ve tried talking to her about this, but she just brushes it off and says it’s no big deal. She says it’s just part of marketing and that she’s doing it to make a living.

What really bothers me is that she’s using her body to get what she wants. She’s exploiting herself and I don’t like it. I don’t want her to be seen as just a body. She’s so much more than that.

I know she’s trying to make a living, but I worry about the message she’s sending out. She’s portraying herself as an object and I don’t like it.

It’s degrading and disrespectful.

It’s also dangerous. I’m afraid that she could attract the wrong kind of attention from men. I’m worried that she could be taken advantage of or worse.

I’m also concerned about how this will affect her reputation in the insurance industry. I know she’s trying to be professional, but this isn’t the way to do it. She’s sending the wrong message to potential customers and it could hurt her business in the long run.

I don’t want her to give up on her dreams on being a top insurance agent, but I wish she’d find a better way to go about it. I want her to be successful, but I don’t want her to have to rely on her body to do it.

I just want her to be safe and to be respected. I know she can do it, she just needs to find a different way to go about it. I’m trying to be supportive and understanding, but it’s hard for me to watch her do this.

Anyone have any suggestions on how I can solve this problem?

S’PORE POLICEMAN CHARGED FOR ACCIDENT THAT LEFT MOTORCYCLIST WITH BROKEN FOOT

0

A 47-year-old police station inspector, Liong Hong Yeow, was charged on Wednesday (17 May) under the Road Traffic Act for an accident that occurred back in October 2022, according to The Straits Times.

He is being accused of driving a police car without reasonable consideration for other motorists during an accident involving a motorcycle that resulted in the 39-year-old motorcyclist suffering from a fracture in his right foot as a result, although it was not revealed in the court documents how the accident occurred.

On 8 October 2022 at about 8.50 pm, Liong was driving a police car along Choa Chu Kang North 5 at the time and he allegedly didn’t give way to the victim’s motorcycle, who was riding straight from the opposite direction of the road.

Liong was purportedly making a right turn at the time during a green light at the road junction when the accident took place.

The Singapore Police Force said that following the accident, the police officer immediately rendered assistance to the victim and called for an ambulance, and he was sent to the hospital conscious.

A spokesperson for the Singapore Police Force said that their officers are expected to maintain the highest standards of conduct and uphold the law, and they deal with law-breaking officers accordingly, including charging them in court.

They added that the police began investigations against Liong, but are unable to comment further because the case is still ongoing.

ST reported that Liong is set to be pleading guilty to his alleged offences on 30 June next month.

Not the only traffic accident involving police vehicle(s)

Earlier this week, a 26-year-old sergeant who was attached to Bedok Police Division at the time, Johann Pak Zhuo-En, was sentenced to three months imprisonment and banned from driving for 5 years after pleading guilty to driving without reasonable consideration to other road users.

Pak was driving a police van on August 2020 when it got into an accident with a motorcycle that saw the 44-year-old motorcyclist suffering a severe brain injury.

GIRL WHO WEIGHTS 100KG SAYS SHE WAS REJECTED FROM JOB BECAUSE OF HER SIZE

0

I was always a happy and confident girl, but I had been overweight about 100KG since I was a child.

I had grown used to the stares I got from people in public places and the occasional comments from people who didn’t know me. I had accepted my body and didn’t think much about it. I was content with who I was.

But all that changed when I was rejected for a job I had applied for. I was shocked, I had worked hard to get the qualifications I needed and I had been sure that I was the perfect fit for the role. When I got the email saying that I had been unsuccessful, I was confused.

I tried to figure out why I had been rejected and the only thing I could think of was my weight. I was a hundred kilos, and I had never been ashamed of it before, but now I was beginning to question my own self worth. I couldn’t understand why my weight was an issue when it had never been an issue before.

I tried to talk to my friends about it, but they didn’t understand.

They said that I was being too hard on myself and that the rejection didn’t have anything to do with my weight. But I was certain that it had. I had seen how people looked at me and I knew that I was not the “ideal” woman.

I began to worry that this was how people would always see me. That I was doomed to be rejected again and again, simply because of my weight. I started to feel like I was worthless and that no one would ever accept me for who I was.

I started to look for answers, and I eventually came across a few inspiring stories of successful people who had gone through the same thing. I was amazed to see that there were people out there who had found success despite being overweight.

They had faced rejection, but had not let it define them.

MIXED VEGE STALL STATES 1 MEAT 2 VEGE FOR $3 BUT CUSTOMER TOLD TO PAY $5.70

0

Kimly mixed rice Coffeeshop beside shengshiong at Bukit batok street

Price stated is 1 meat, 2 Veg at $3.00

Purchase 1 meat, 1 veg and 1 egg steam at $5.70.

Super expensive.

Firstly, I asked why is $5.70 and they claim the beans veg with minced meat is category under meat. Which fair enough but I could hardly see any minced meat in the beans veg

Then they claimed the beans veg are expensive.

Would suggest that Mixed Veg Stall to list the price of each dishes or label them individually.

Label Green Tag – Veggie

Label Red Tag – Meat

label Yellow Tag – Fish

So consumer will be able to choose what they want and prevention of over purchased order or not towards their budget.

Here are what netizens think:

  • Next time ask how much the dish lo. Which now i do! Dun happy happy order then price not right u kpkb.
  • Maybe the stall attendants need to collect some differences?
  • Actual $3.50 but charges $4.50.. then key in $3.50.. At the end of day, the difference between the excess amount will be “pocket money”?
  • First world developed country and $5.70 expensive? Malaysia easily RM 7-8. N don’t convert to sg hor.
  • If price not right for you move away, too expensive boycott them.
  • Is better cook at home .. than buy ready made food from outside
  • This is everywhere mixed vege rice stall is doing. Add abit of meat to vege or egg, they will charge as meat $2 then only meat is $3 and above.
  • Now when you eat cai fan, you need to bring along a binocular to check whether the vegetable dish has meat because they cook 10kg of vegetable and put 0.1kg of meat is also consider as meat dish.

GOOGLE WILL BE DELETING ACCOUNTS THAT ARE NOT USED FOR 2 YEARS, FROM DECEMBER ONWARDS

0

Google said in a press release that they will be updating their inactivity policy for Google accounts and that from December onwards they will begin deleting accounts that have been inactive and unused for 2 years or more.

Among the accounts to be deleted will include Gmail, Docs, Drive, Meet, Calendar, YouTube and Google Photos accounts.

They said that this is because the inactive accounts are likely to be compromised and that these accounts are 10 times less likely to have set up their two-step verification(s).

Google’s press release

Updating our inactive account policies

People want the products and services they use online to be safe and secure. Which is why we have invested in technology and tools to protect our users from security threats, like spam, phishing scams and account hijacking.

Even with these protections, if an account hasn’t been used for an extended period of time, it is more likely to be compromised. This is because forgotten or unattended accounts often rely on old or re-used passwords that may have been compromised, haven’t had two factor authentication set up, and receive fewer security checks by the user. Our internal analysis shows abandoned accounts are at least 10x less likely than active accounts to have 2-step-verification set up. Meaning, these accounts are often vulnerable, and once an account is compromised, it can be used for anything from identity theft to a vector for unwanted or even malicious content, like spam.

To reduce this risk, we are updating our inactivity policy for Google Accounts to 2 years across our products. Starting later this year, if a Google Account has not been used or signed into for at least 2 years, we may delete the account and its contents – including content within Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Drive, Meet, Calendar) and Google Photos.

The policy only applies to personal Google Accounts, and will not affect accounts for organizations like schools or businesses. This update aligns our policy with industry standards around retention and account deletion and also limits the amount of time Google retains your unused personal information.

We are going to roll this out slowly and carefully, with plenty of notice:

  • While the policy takes effect today, it will not immediately impact users with an inactive account — the earliest we will begin deleting accounts is December 2023.
  • We will take a phased approach, starting with accounts that were created and never used again.
  • Before deleting an account, we will send multiple notifications over the months leading up to deletion, to both the account email address and the recovery email (if one has been provided).

How to keep your account active

The simplest way to keep a Google Account active is to sign-in at least once every 2 years. If you have signed into your Google Account or any of our services recently, your account is considered active and will not be deleted. Activity might include these types of actions you take when you sign in or while you’re signed in to your Google Account:

  • Reading or sending an email
  • Using Google Drive
  • Watching a YouTube video
  • Downloading an app on the Google Play Store
  • Using Google Search
  • Using Sign in with Google to sign in to a third-party app or service

If you have an existing subscription set up through your Google Account, for example to Google One, a news publication or an app, we also consider this account activity and your account will not be impacted. Additionally, we do not have plans to delete accounts with YouTube videos at this time.

THE SBS BUS SERVICE THAT ONLY GOES TO CEMETERIES AND RUNS 7 DAYS PER YEAR

Did you know that there is a bus service in Singapore that operates only 7 days a year, and only young male bus drivers are allowed to drive that bus for safety reasons, according to 8world News.

SBS bus service 405 only takes commuters to cemeteries and columbariums and it only operates on 7 days per year, namely on the Qing Ming Festival, Good Friday, All Souls Day, the first day of Ramadan, Hari Raya Puasa, Hari Raya Haji and Deepavali.

It plies the route from the Boon Lay Interchange towards Choa Chu Kang and Lim Chu Kang, and the members of the public can take the bus to visit their deceased loved ones during the abovementioned holidays.

Pre-registered members of the public had the opportunity to take the bus as part of the Singapore HeritageFest in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of SBS Transit.

Due to the remote nature of the route that the bus plies, SBS Transit stipulates that only young male bus captains are allowed to drive that particular bus service for safety, and it only operates during the day.

The first bus 405 leaves from the Boon Lay Bus Interchange at about 7am, while the last bus departs at 5pm, and it goes from Jurong West towards Jalan Bahar, then towards the Old Choa Chu Kang Road before heading towards Lim Chu Kang Road where the cemeteries are, before turning back.

Among the stops covered along the route at the Jalan Bahar Power Station, the Civil Defence Academy and the Nirvana Memorial Garden, and some of the bus stops along the way were purportedly built just for this special bus service.

Netizens have shared that on certain nights, commuters can see NSFs and/or NSMen during their training in the training areas nearby.

And speculation is also rife about the bus being an unofficial carrier for “invisible” passengers.

MAN LOST IN LIFE: RETRENCHED, WIFE PASS AWAY & SAVINGS WIPED BY BAD INVESTMENT

0

I was once a successful entrepreneur, with a happy and contented family life. I had a great job, two beautiful kids and a beautiful wife. Life was good and I was blessed with a comfortable and happy life.

However, in the last few years, my life took a turn for the worse. My business failed and I was retrenched. To make matters worse, my wife passed away suddenly and my savings were wiped out by a bad investment.

Series of unfortunate events

I was lost. I had no job, no money and no family. I felt like the world had abandoned me. My self-esteem and confidence took a beating and I was left feeling helpless and hopeless.

I was broken. I had no idea what to do or where to turn. I felt like I had no purpose in life. I was so lost that I didn’t even know where to begin. I was stuck in a rut and I couldn’t seem to find a way out.

I felt like I was at a crossroads. I had two choices: I could either stay in the same position I was in or I could take a chance and start anew.

I decided to take a chance.

I decided to start over. I sold all my possessions and used the money to start a small business. I knew it was a risk, but I was willing to take it. I was determined to make a fresh start and build a new life for myself.

I put all my effort into my business and it paid off. I was successful and my business flourished. I was able to rebuild my savings and eventually, I was able to purchase a small home.

I was able to find joy and contentment within myself. I was able to create a life that I could be proud of. I was able to start over and have a new beginning.

It was my child that was the motivation to bring me back on my feet, to give them a good life.

If you are ever in a situation like me, please please think about your love ones. There is nothing more important than family.

GIRL FEEL TEMPTED BECAUSE HER BOSS SEDUCE HER WITH HIS BMW SPORTS CAR

0

I am in my twenties, and I feel tempted by my wealthy and handsome boss. He has recently purchased a BMW sports car and has been trying to seduce me with it.

I have never been surrounded by such wealth and luxury before, and it feels like a dream come true.

I have a boyfriend, and although he is not poor, he will never be able to afford a sports car. My boss has made it clear that he wants me to be his, and he is willing to invest in me to make it happen. He has already bought me expensive gifts, taken me on luxurious dates and filled my head with promises of a life of ease and wealth.

I know I should not be tempted by my boss’s wealth and luxury, but it’s hard to ignore. He is always around, driving his fancy car and displaying his wealth. He is also very charming, and I can’t help but feel flattered by his attention and admiration.

I am also aware of how much my boyfriend loves me, and I feel guilty for even considering my boss’s advances. We have been together for several years, and I know he would do anything for me. But he can’t give me the kind of life my boss is offering.

My boyfriend works hard, and he is doing his best to provide for us. But he will never be able to afford a BMW sports car. I know I shouldn’t compare my boyfriend to my boss, but I can’t help but feel a little jealous of my boss’s wealth and success.

I have to make a decision:

should I give in to my boss’s seduction and take a chance on a life of luxury and ease, or stay with my boyfriend who loves me and works hard to provide for us?

I know I need to make the right decision for my future, but in the end, it comes down to what is best for me and my relationship. I know I should be grateful for everything my boyfriend gives me, and I know I need to stay true to him.

But at the same time, I can’t help but feel tempted by my boss’s wealth and luxury. I know I need to be strong and resist his advances, or else risk losing the man I love. After all, money can’t buy happiness.
