GUY COMPLAIN ABOUT MUM NAGGING AT HIM UNTIL SHE DIED, NOW CAN’T HEAR HER VOICE ANYMORE

0

Yeah, so my mother just died.

I don’t want to get too much into the details, but the shock is still fresh and I’m still trying to digest the whole situation while grieving, I don’t know what to do.

I can’t breathe and it feels like I’m drowning, I’m having panic attacks because it suddenly hit me that I will never see my mum ever again.

When I walk into the kitchen, there won’t be food she prepared sitting on the table anymore, or the clothes that she folded set neatly on my wardrobe.

I still have her clothes hanging inside her room, and I feel myself dying inside knowing that she will never put on these clothes ever again.

Her half eaten ice kachang is still inside the freezer, I opened the fridge and just stared at it for a little while, hoping she had enjoyed it while she was still alive.

Her shoes are still at my front gate, and her socks are still tucked inside, and I find myself wondering where these shoes have taken her, has she finally made it to heaven?

Over the years, I have always been complaining about her nagging; she would call me incessantly and ask me what time was I going home, have I eaten, where was I, who was I with, and I would always get disgruntled and scold her over the phone, shout at her to leave me alone to let me live my life.

Sometimes she would call me while I was out having a good time with my friends, and I would just reject her repeated calls because I would get embarrassed in front of my friends that my mother was still checking on me at my age.

But what I would give for just one more phone call with her, to hear her angelic, beautiful voice again, for just a split second. I want her to nag at me again, but now I realise that I will never receive that incoming call from “mum” ever again, I will never hear her voice calling my name ever again.

She will never get the chance to watch me get married, have my own children and carry her grandchildren.

I touched her body at the hospital and it was cold, there was no more life in her… I watched as my mother left this world and I stood there crying like a baby.

I miss you mummy, please come back to me. I’m sorry for being the worst son in the world, I just want you to hold me again and tell me everything will be alright. I’m scared to be alone in this world without you, and I don’t know how to carry on. Please tell me what to do, I miss you mummy…

PROTECTED AREA/PLACE SIGNS UPDATED, NO MORE “PUT YOUR HANDS UP”, NOW IS “SEDIA”

UPDATED DESIGN FOR PROTECTED AREA AND PROTECTED PLACE SIGNS FROM 15 MAY 2023

The Police have reviewed the design of the Protected Area and Protected Place (PA/PP) signs, and updated signs will be implemented over the next five years, from 15 May 2023 to 14 May 2028.

During this transition period, members of the public may come across either the current or updated signs at PAs/PPs.

Under the Infrastructure Protection Act (“IPA”), sensitive installations such as military camps and immigration checkpoints are declared as PAs/PPs.

PAs/PPs are installations that could require entry, movement and conduct of persons to be controlled for security reasons.

The IPA gives the authorities of PAs/PPs and their guards the powers to protect their premises. This includes powers to control entry and movement, conduct search of persons and property, remove persons and property, and arrest and/or stop persons by force, including through the use of arms if necessary.

Authorities of PAs/PPs are hence required to display signs at the perimeter of the PAs/PPs to indicate their boundaries and warn members of the public about the possible consequences of unauthorised entry into these premises.

The current design of the PA/PP signs dates back to 1998 under the repealed Protected Areas and Protected Places Act. It is timely to refresh the signs.

The updated design depicts an armed guard at attention position, and is more representative of the posture of guards on duty at the PAs/PPs today.

The updated sign will continue to act as a warning that force may be used against unauthorised persons. Please refer to Annex A for the current and updated signs.

Persons who intrude into PAs/PPs may also be referred to the Police for investigations.

SMRT BUS DRIVER SEEN IN VIDEO USING PHONE WHILE DRIVING, SUSPENDED FOR INVESTIGATIONS

A video emerged online showing an SMRT bus captain taking both his hands off the steering wheel while driving to eat and use his phone.

The incident was witnessed and recorded by a passenger who was on board the bus at the time of the incident, when he saw the shocking and dangerous behaviour of the driver.

The netizen who posted the video captioned it: “Bus Captain caught not holding onto steering wheel multiple times and using phone while driving on the expressway.”

A warning was also attached to the TikTok video by the social media platform, saying that “participating in this activity could result in you or others getting hurt”.

In the video, the bus captain was seen holding on to the steering wheel with one hand and his other hand holding onto his phone that he was using while driving, before keeping it in a side compartment.

He was also seen with both his hands off the steering wheel as he took out a snack to eat.

STOMP reported that the bus captain has since been suspended pending further investigations.

Netizens’ comments

  1. Just remember, it takes one mistake and one accident that may cause lives… It can be anybody. When it happened, no point arguing right or wrong. Take road safety seriously…
  2. While I understand that people are attacking the guy who took the video instead of just reminding him, bus driver deserves punishment as he is putting people’s lives at risk. I don’t think he’ll lose his job but then again, this is a BIG NO on the occupation.
  3. Looking and typing is definitely wrong. But maybe replying to a superb urgent matters relate to life and death or etc from family matters ?
Eating sweet is to keep himself awake and keeping the journey alert and safe.
But, because of your video, u break his rice bowl.
Come , We all clap for u
  4. Now he has been caught with his phone while driving..give him a stern warning so that he knows it is wrong to use the phone while on the road…
  5. All bus driver who have been driving for many years has forgotten what they have signed and SOP they needed to follow . As such they have to go back to resit their license and bar from driving for a short period of time so they can go for holiday with no pay leave . Only by doing so they know the next time their licence will be terminated
  6. Why is there such a fuss over it? What about commuters who are romancing on public transports and talking very loudly?
Try to understand the dreadful long shifts blue-collar workers have to endure and the lack of time they have to spend with their loved ones as a result of their professional obligation.

YOU CAN NOW LOCK CHATS ON WHATSAPP, COMPANY SAYS “MAKE YOUR INTIMATE CHATS PRIVATE”

0

WhatsApp recently announced on Monday (15 May) about a new feature that allows user to lock their chats on the app, Chat Lock, with the company saying that it allows people to make their “most intimate conversations even more private”.

The chats will be locked and only accessible to the user via the entry of the phone’s password or biometrics, and the contents of the chat will stay hidden, even from the notifications.

WhatsApp’s statement

Chat Lock: Making your most intimate conversations even more private

Our passion is to find new ways to help keep your messages private and secure. Today, we’re excited to bring to you a new feature we’re calling Chat Lock, which lets you protect your most intimate conversations behind one more layer of security.

Locking a chat takes that thread out of the inbox and puts it behind its own folder that can only be accessed with your device password or biometric, like a fingerprint. It also automatically hides the contents of that chat in notifications, too.

We think this feature will be great for people who have reason to share their phones from time to time with a family member or those moments where someone else is holding your phone at the exact moment an extra special chat arrives. You can lock a chat by tapping the name of a one-to-one or group and selecting the lock option. To reveal these chats, slowly pull down on your inbox and enter your phone password or biometric.

Over the next few months we’re going to be adding more options for Chat Lock, including locking for companion devices and creating a custom password for your chats so that you can use a unique password different from the one you use for your phone.

Tell your friends about Chat Lock, which is rolling out now.

FORMER “WAH!BANANA” YOUTUBE ACTOR ALLEGEDLY MOLESTED & RAPED TINDER DATE, CHARGED

0

27-year-old Lev Panfilov, a Singapore permanent resident from Russia who was a former actor for the Singaporean YouTube channel Wah!Banana, was charged on 16 May with raping a woman he had met from the dating app Tinder, according to Channel NewsAsia.

Panfilov was a creative specialist with Wah!Banana from May 2020 to May 2021, and is currently working at a recruitment agency as a consulting manager. according to his LinkedIn profile,

He had met up with the victim to work on her script over a meal, before heading back to his condominium where he allegedly assaulted her.

Panfilov is claiming trial for his 4 charges of molestation, assault and rape, and a High Court trial has been set for 12 days, with the prosecution planning to call in 14 witnesses to support their case, including an investigation officer who seized Panfilove’s underwear and bedding for investigations.

What happened?

The assault allegedly took place on 12 January 2021 after Panfilov met up with the 30-year-old woman from Tinder for the first time at a Robertson Quay restaurant, Wine Connection.

The woman was hoping to widen her social circle and meet new people through the dating app, and matched with Panfilov because his profile stated that he was a scriptwriter.

Because she was writing her own script at the time, the victim wanted to get some feedback and advice from him, and they met up and worked on the script over a meal until about 10pm when the restaurant closed.

Panfilov then suggested to the woman that they should go back to his River Valley condominium and she agreed, and they watched some YouTube videos and discussed principles of comedy while working on the script as they sat on his bed, according to The Straits Times.

The prosecution said that Panfilov then dropped his “facade of civility he had presented throughout the evening” and that he started showing his “true colours”.

He allegedly forced a kiss on the victim before molesting and raping her despite the woman not consenting to his actions and repeatedly asking him to stop.

After being finished with her, he then booked a private hire vehicle to send the victim home.

Following the incident, the victim started feeling pain in her lower abdomen and sought medical treatment, and she didn’t know if she should lodge a police report at the time.

She eventually reported the incident to the police after about a week after the incident, after her mother found her crying on 18 January 2021 inside her room.

She was brought to the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital on the same day by her mother before they reported the incident to the police that same day.
