50 Y.O MOTORCYCLIST KILLED AFTER BEING STRUCK BY LIGHTNING ON THE WAY TO WORK

A 50-year-old motorcyclist was struck by lightning while riding his motorcycle to work, and he subsequently died from his injuries.

The incident happened on Tuesday (2 April) in Selangor, Malaysia; and according to local media reports, the deceased was on his way to work at the time when he got struck by lightning.

Malaysian news site The Star reported that the lightning strike took place along the Rimbayu Bridge in Banting, Selangor, Malaysia.

The motorcyclist was riding along the Rimbayu Bridge on his way to work at about 6.20 pm when he got struck by a lightning bolt, throwing him off his motorcycle and resulting in his falling unconscious.

His body was subsequently moved to the side of the road by passers-by, who called for help, and when paramedics arrived at the scene, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The authorities also noticed 2 burn marks on the road caused by the lightning strike.

The New Straits Times reported that after being struck by the lightning bolt, the deceased was flung about 50 metres forwards from his motorcycle.

He suffered burns on the right side of his neck, as well as bruises on his thigh and abdomen, and injuries on his chin and knees.

His death has since been classified as a case of sudden death caused by a lightning strike.

Protecting yourself from lightning when riding on the road

  1. Check the weather forecast: Before heading out on your motorcycle, be sure to check the weather forecast. Thunderstorms can pop up quickly, so it’s important to be aware of any potential storms in the area. If there is a high likelihood of thunderstorms, consider postponing your ride until the weather clears up.
  2. Avoid open areas: If you do find yourself caught in a thunderstorm while riding your motorcycle, try to avoid open areas such as fields or parking lots. Lightning is more likely to strike in open areas, so if possible, seek shelter in a building or under a bridge.
  3. Stay away from metal: Lightning is attracted to metal, so it’s important to stay away from any metal objects while riding your motorcycle during a thunderstorm. This includes metal fences, telephone poles, and other structures.
  4. Stay low: If you can’t find shelter and must continue riding your motorcycle during a thunderstorm, stay as low as possible. Avoid hills and other high points, and try to ride in the centre of the road. This will reduce your risk of being struck by lightning.
  5. Wear protective gear: In addition to taking precautions against lightning, it’s important to wear appropriate protective gear when riding your motorcycle. This includes a helmet, gloves, and protective clothing such as leather jackets and pants. These items can help reduce your risk of injury in the event of an accident.
  6. Be aware of your surroundings: Finally, be aware of your surroundings at all times when riding your motorcycle. Keep an eye out for potential hazards such as downed power lines, flooded roads, and other dangers that can arise during a thunderstorm.

GANGSTER MONK FIGHTING @ FUNERAL WITH DECEASED’S FAMILY, FRIEND BRING WEAPON JOIN IN

Facebook user Chu Pi Ka posted a video of a man dressed in monk robes getting into a heated argument at a funeral purportedly with the deceased’s family.

The incident happened on 29 April at a void deck in Delta Avenue, and it all sparked off when the monk asked the deceased’s family if the speaker used during the chanting procession could be shifted into their (the family’s) home, according to Mothership.

The family was not pleased and an argument then ensued with the monk.

The monk was seen in the video arguing with the family, with a man who was outside the camera frame asking him what his problem was.

The monk then replied and asked “why can’t you help to carry this?” as they went back and forth about what the monk said being wrong.

The monk then asked “why can’t I? I am here to help” as he approached the group, and another man then told him not to “do such things” since he’s “old already”.

A physical struggle then ensued before the video cuts off.

The netizen added in his Facebook post that the “gangster monk” allegedly go into a fight with the deceased’s family with his fists and even threw a chair, hitting a woman in the process.

The netizen also claimed that the monk’s friend, who was driving a lorry, came to back him up and arrived at the scene with a stick that was about 4-foot long, but was stopped.

The monk and the driver subsequently left the scene in the driver’s lorry.

Here is what he said

The funeral organiser said that the monk was arranged by the family of the deceased to chant at the funeral because he knew the deceased personally, as well as another family member.

After the incident, he then left before the casket could be brought over to the crematorium, and the organiser had to make last minute arrangements to find a replacement.

The Singapore Buddist Federation also responded to the incident, apologising to the deceased’s family and said that the monk’s behaviour and actions were “not befitting of a monk in Singapore”.

HOW OLD IS TOO OLD FOR A RELATIONSHIP, 52 Y.O WOMAN STRUGGLES TO FIND LOVE

0

At 50 years plus is it too late for a relationship?

I am 52 female, divorced in my early thirties after getting married for less than a year. For many years I held on to the thinking that if a second relationship comes it will just come, and never put in any effort to try look for one. I had 2 relationships, both divorcees..1 for 9 months and the other long distance for 4 years. It ended because he had depression and his family thinks it not fair for me to continue. So now I m 52 and contemplating.

Friends told me I should just live myife as it is, as relationships these days is tough n worse at this age, the ppl that I meet might just. E there for monetary benefits or not looking to really for something long term. These are from ppl who meant well I guess. But like to know what everyone or anyone else thinks.

Here are what netizens think:

  • Don’t let people tell you that it’s too late to do anything, even looking for love. It’s your life, you have only yourself to account to. 52 can be the new 40 or even 30, if you have been keeping yourself well. I’m pretty sure you have seen quite a bit, and will have some experience telling apart, the good ones from the ones who aren’t so. All the best!
  • Just love yourself and live your life I believe it would come when u least expect it. Just make sure to fill your cup first so that once u meet someone who matches your vibes and outlook, it would all come together naturally. And if not, there’s always pets. I’d always imagined myself with a dog and a parrot perhaps
  • Learn to be alone. We came alone and we will go alone. Nothing we can bring along except merits. I’m blissful when at times being alone, as I’ve no enemy within
  • I don’t think age determines/limits anything except if you were looking to reproduce. But even then, there’s always surrogacy. With that said, live your life as if you’re not lacking anything and if it’s meant to be, it will be. I never expected to find love at my advanced age but I just got married for the first time last week at the ripe young age of 46.

WOMAN UNABLE TO EVEN GET A SIMPLE OFFICE JOB EVEN WITH A DIPLOMA

0

Is career switch a stereotypical myth?

I have been a childcare teacher for 15 years. Reaching 40 this, i decided to quit the education sector and to try working in the corporate industry ~ desk job perhaps.

A less stressful job whereby i can balance my work family without any compromises. Not implying that Desk jobs aren’t stressful but comparing to a teaching job.. It’s a better option..

But despite being a preschool diploma graduate with O levels and a Higher Nitec in Business Studies, It is very difficult to land an admin or clerical job.

I sent out numerous applications and it got rejected over and over. witha staple reply – that my work experiences as a childcare teacher doesn’t fit their job scopes. Some would plainly say I had been a teacher with zero experiences in administrations.

Initially, I would explain myself that my career doesn’t only mean I teach the children. There are many other roles I did. Report writing, presentations, invoices, etc.

But they don’t seem to understand or accept the fact that we are equipped with skills that would cater to a clerical job.

There are many other teachers who have had quit their teaching jobs to start something more different. But we don’t get the opportunities for the careerswitch. There are many instances whereby we are encouraged for a mid career change.

The mindset of stereo typing a childcare is not something new. But it doesn’tget voiced out. There are many ex teachers in the same plight as me. who are left with no choice but to go back to teaching reluctantly.

Are our skill sets not good enough for an opportunity to go to another sector? Many job adverts state our skills mentioned in our resumes but just because we clock in some many years in the education Sector as an educator doesn’t deem fit for the position offered?

I really hope companies with positions opened would consider us as a suitable candidates too.

MAN QUITS BUT RETURNS TO THE SAME COMPANY & FACES WORKPLACE NIGHTMARE

0

I am a Boomerang employee.

Yes, I regret returning to the Company. It was the place that broke me and I walked right back in.

I was naive. I thought that the management was (finally) appreciative of the effort I had been making and provided me with an opportunity for career development, boy did I know this was the start of yet another nightmare.

In order not to burn bridges, I am still here (to help out) but I can feel myself falling further into the dark hole day by day. Every other day, I question myself if I deserve all the disrespect and disappointment from the team, and whether it is worth it to continue putting in more effort than I am expected to or walking extra miles.

It sucks to feel this way because I expect myself to maintain good work ethics, yet I feel like the team of people I am “managing” don’t deserve my presence at all.

Grateful to have met a few wonderful ladies during this return, though. Basically the only factor that made my return feel worthy. 感恩。

Here are what netizens think:

  • If u leave because of certain resentment, be it human relations or politics or mngent issues, never look back. Chances are, things will nvr change unless the cause (usually a person) left. If its policy cause, then those usually DON’T change at all. This can happen in either MNC and/or SME. Take it from someone who had joined both sectors.
  • One thing I’ve learnt. Everyone is replaceable. Doesn’t sound like you will stay for long. Good luck.
  • Probably a sme… Most SMEs doesn’t pay well with super heavy workloads. You get good colleagues if you are lucky
  • It is hard to leave employment in a call center – great pay, great hours, etc. don’t feel bad – take care of yourself.
  • If disrespect is what they are showing you, leave the company and them as though it’s a choice for you. Surround yourself with supportive people.

YOUNG MEN OFFERING ESCORT SERVICES TO LONELY RICH WOMEN EARNING $4.4K/MONTH

According to Kosmo!, young men in Malaysia are turning to providing escort services to lonely rich women and earning up to RM15,000 (about SGD$4.5k) per month.

Some of the part timers are raking in about RM8,000 (or SGD$2.4k) per month, while full timers make about RM15,000 monthly.

The clientele includes lonely rich women who are being neglected by their husbands and are desperate for company and attention, willing to fork out money for the escorts to share an evening drink with them and make them feel desired.

The women who patronise these young men consist of businesswomen, rich widows and Datins (the wife of a Datuk) aged between 40 and 50.

The fees for a night with these male escorts depend on what activities they do, which include meeting them in hotels, events, and drinking with them.

One of the male escorts, 26-year-old Alex, told Kosmo that his fees are about RM100 per hour (or SGD$29), and that he has been working in this line for the last 5 years.

He shared that he sources for his clients online, and if he’s lucky, the women would take him overseas with them so that they can do more “intimate” activities together.

Alex added that he is in this line of work purely for the money and that he first learned about it from his college friends and online, and made enough money from it to buy his own home and car, according to China Press.

But being a male escort isn’t easy, as they have to be handsome, tall, stylish, confident, positive personal image, good communicators, able to keep secrets.

Most of the male escorts are college students, fitness instructors, models, and flight attendants.

However, despite the earning potential of this industry, it does have its professional caveats – some of the escorts have faced women who refuse to pay the full price for their services.

MAN LENDS OVER $100K TO FRIEND BUT HE GOES MISSING FOR OVER 3 YEARS

0

What should I do when my friend owes me money and still blames me?

I was damn stupid to lend my friend almost 6 digit worth of money by bank loan even private loan, only for everything to be lost in a scam.

He told me cause of business failed all the money to settle his business debts. So I tried being understanding which he promise would return the money to me.

Really he don’t even bother pay me been 3years, I see his family going on trips to Korea etc. Which he using my credit card pay for it .

I posted he and his family recently on social media they’re fraudsters. He found out angry text threaten me said I’m a bitch , his family going to report police. He even text me give a chance to remove post. WTF… did he forget he the one owe me money didnt pay a single cents.

A lot of people say this money is confirm lost, he and his wife fraudsters. It’s not business failed actually their overspend. Because I don’t make noise, they keep taking advantage right?

The worse when i showed him all the transaction money he owed me. He say need check first correct anot. WTF… he said I’m one who screwed up friendship because of money

Here are what netizens think:

Hes playing u out to escape the payments he owes u. He paiseh because the whole people in his life will see this and be wary of his antiques. Tell him to pay u pay in smaller amounts, u keep track of the amount n balance. But frankly la, by the way he act, can see the money cant be returned. Take it as a painful lesson n stop lending ppl ur money permenantly. And cut ur friendship with him n whoever that u know who is with his side for good.

Money rule of thumb: never ever lend money to anyone unless you’re comfy with never seeing that amount ever again.

I get its hurting u… But… Why u let him use ur credit card?? I trying to understand this part.

This is painful to hear. I would ask what’s wrong with you instead of what’s wrong with him. This person treat you like atm you still call him a friend. What’s so special about this person and friendship that you will allow yourself to be used until no limit?
