MAN STARTING TO RESENT HIS WIFE, FELL OUT OF LOVE AND UNHAPPY

0

A netizen shared how he is starting to resent his wife and that they barely interact with each other at all.

here is the story

I’m really starting to resent my wife

Our relationship has been stale. We have 4 kids and we are a great team with them, doing fun things together, working together to solve life’s little problems that pop up, being there, showing how to be mutually respectful to one another etc.

Then they go to bed. And my wife and I may as well be roommates. We barely speak, we usually just watch one of our shows and then I go to bed.

We barely interact at all unless it’s a kid thing or if she is complaining about something totally unrelated to our household.

I’ve tried bringing it up, but anymore I honestly don’t even want her attention anymore. We are just stuck in this rut that we can’t steer out of.

We have zero mutual interests anymore outside of our kids. I am just so unhappy.

She tells me that I need medication because “I’m grumpy” but it’s really because of how unfulfilled I feel in our relationship.

I just don’t know what to do

MAN SMOKES ONE PACK OF CIGARETTES PER DAY FOR 14 YEARS, FINALLY QUITS

0

It’s my 2 year anniversary of quitting smoking

I was a pack a day smoker for 14 years. I quit the week we went into Covid lockdown but that’s not why I quit.

The hardest part was accepting that I was going to start actively choosing life. I never thought I’d live past 12 years old.

I didn’t want to be here and if I was going to forced to, I would at least help speed the process.

Well 2 years ago I chose to stop chasing death and be present not only for my friends and family but also myself.

It’s been a jarring experience but here I am. I’m actively in therapy. I started working out, lost 30lbs and my doctor is no longer concerned about me being pre-diabetic.

I haven’t had any heartburn. My anxiety has significantly decreased, and gums don’t bleed at the dentist anymore.

Happy 2 year anniversary to my new life.

Netizens’ comments

  • Happy anniversary. I hope life is treating you well. That’s super impressive
  • Way to go, OP!! You deserve to love your life.
  • I quit 3 years ago after being a pack a day smoker for over 30 years. I still crave it today. But I’m not going back. Props for staying quit!!

MOM CALLS DAUGHTER IN LAW A “DIRTY BEGGAR” FOR DIRTY HOME

0

I’ll cut straight to the point.

My mom visited us yesterday morning at 10am while I was at work. She must’ve found the house a mess because once she left, she called me to rant about how filthy and cluttered the house was. she went on a long rant about my wife having an attitude and almost kicking her out for pointing out that the house looked filthy and smelled.

I just nodded and uh-um’d through the entire call then went home thinking this was no big deal. But once I walked in, my wife started arguing with me about my mom berating her for the state of the house and calling it names like filthy and calling my wife names like dirty beggar.

She asked for my thoughts on this “verbal abuse” that mom keeps subjecting her to and I told her to just ignore her cause she’s like this with my brother’s wife too. She got upset and said that no, she doesn’t have to ignore her and mom has one chance to apologize or she’s no longer welcome here.

I said that was an exaggeration because, for one, she knows how much of a clean freak mom is and two, and let’s be honest here, She should’ve tidied up the house if she didn’t want any negative comments from mom or any other guest for that matter.

She said she really had no time to clean when she’s taking care of the kids and the dishes and whatnot and insisted that mom should’ve had basic human decency and called beforehand. I said fine but no longer allowing mom to visit at least for the kids sake was, in my opinion, over the top.

She said if I was okay with the kids hearing my mom’s despicable words then she’s not. She then argued about how I shouldn’t blame her for not tidying up the house when there’s so much on her plate already. I said I get it but she was really making a big out of it. now I could talk to mom about visiting times but I think that my wife is to blame too here. My wife was mortified and is saying she’ll go through to no longer allow my mom into the house if this keeps happening and the fight just got worse.

I feel like I got stuck in between both sides of the argument and was being blamed for both of their behaviors.

CHICKEN RICE STALL @ PASIR RIS PAYING $16,000 FOR RENT AND DISHWASHER

0

The chicken rice stall was grappling with an exorbitant rental cost, a burdensome additional expense of $2,000 for a dishwasher, and a substantial 20% profit reduction on each item sold. These financial strains seemed incredibly unjust and unsustainable, akin to daylight robbery for a small business owner striving to make both ends meet.

Here is the story:

I recently spoke to the shop staff at the chicken rice stall in Pasir Ris Drive 6, and it’s disheartening to hear about the challenges they’re facing. The cost of living in our area has skyrocketed, forcing the chicken rice stall owner to make the difficult decision to close down the business. It’s a testament to the tough times many small businesses are enduring.

The shop was dealing with a rental cost of a staggering 14K, an additional 2K for a dishwasher, and a 20% profit cut for each item sold at the stall. This seemed incredibly unfair and unsustainable, almost like daylight robbery for a small business owner trying to make ends meet.

On top of these challenges, when the coffee shop decided to renovate, the stall owner had to shoulder a certain percentage of the renovation costs, adding further strain.

In the midst of this adversity, Coffee shop has stepped up to continue the business. They’ve made adjustments by retaining the staff and shortening business hours, displaying resilience and adaptability in a tough market.

The Weight of Rental Costs

One of the most pressing issues faced by the chicken rice stall was the exorbitant rental cost. At a staggering $14,000 per month, this figure was nothing short of astronomical for a small business. It created a constant cloud of financial anxiety that loomed over the stall owner’s head, making it increasingly difficult to maintain profitability.

The Dishwasher Dilemma

Adding to the financial woes was an unexpected $2,000 expense for a dishwasher. While maintaining hygiene standards is crucial for any food establishment, the sudden need for this equipment further exacerbated the already precarious financial situation.

The Profit Margin Squeeze

In an industry where margins can be tight, a 20% profit reduction on each item sold was a heavy blow. This reduction was not only affecting the business’s bottom line but also putting pressure on prices, potentially driving away loyal customers.

GIRL HATES STUDYING HER DEGREE – USED TO BE PASSIONATE ABOUT IT

0

A girl shared how she hates the degree that she is studying for, which she used to be passionate about in the past.

Here is the story:

I hate the degree I was once passionate about
I’m now half way through my final year of study but everyday feels like an emotional burden. I’ve tried to stay focused on the positives but I now I just feel empty.

Luckily my degree is vocational and the job easily has vacancies available but the thought of working in the field seriously makes me want to quit everything.

I’ve mustered up the courage to tell my parents I don’t want to go down the conventional job route for the degree after graduating but I feel terrified to tell them I want nothing to do with it at all, especially since they have supported me so well since the beginning.

It’s starting to play on my mind now, I feel unmotivated, can’t focus on the work, don’t feel to reach out to friends much anymore or make new friends, I’ve stopped going to the gym and more.

I seriously want to escape from feeling this way but I also want to leave with my degree I once loved and worked so hard for.

HUSBANDS ALWAYS DRUNK & VIOLENT, WIFE IMAGINES HE IS SOMEONE ELSE WHEN THEY POK POK

0

I (F29) don’t feel attracted to my husband (M35) anymore

My husband and I have been together for four years and married for two. When we met, he was in shape, took me out often, spoiled me with gifts, took me on trips, held doors open, and was an all-around gentleman.

Fast forward four years later, and he’s overweight, is a rude and belligerent drunk, has punched holes in the wall while drunk and angry, has an explosive temper, never takes me out anymore, constantly demeans me, and makes me feel like I don’t matter.

The other day, he took me out for dinner for the first time in months, and I mentioned that this was a rare occurrence.

I spoke of the old days and how he used to treat me. He laughed and said he was doing what he had to do back then to get me to be with him.

I feel lied to and taken advantage of. I don’t know what to do and am drifting away from him. I don’t like it when he touches me anymore.

I don’t want him to kiss me, and when we do get intimate in bed, I pray that it’s over soon and imagine that it’s someone else. Is there any way to fix this, or will I always be unhappy if I stay with him? I don’t know.

Netizens’ comments

  1. Stop wasting your time and leave
  2. He has told you to your face you are an “object’ to him and your happiness means nothing to him. He won the ‘object’ you and now his work is done.
He sounds dangerous so get your stuff together and make a plan to leave without warning.
  3. His mask has come off and he’s not even pretending otherwise. This is the true him.
It’s sad to know you were manipulated into being “trapped” in a marriage. But you aren’t trapped and now is the time to leave him. Before he becomes abusive. Speaking of which, prepare EVERYTHING, make a plan, get out, and then give him the papers. He may lash out if you mention divorce.
  4. It’s not going to get better. Might as well leave now.
  5. He was comfortable enough to tell you he lied because he thinks he has you right where he wants AND YOU ARE GOING NOWHERE. Start making your plans to leave. Secretly. Warning you that as soon as he knows you are done he will “change” for the better. Don’t fall for it. It is love bombing.

MAN FOUND OUT HIS BEST FRIEND OF 22 YEARS PIAK HIS FIANCE AT LEAST 3 TIMES

0

I (34M) learned that my ex fiancé (30F) slept with my best friend (34M) 6 years ago

My best friend of 22 years, a literal part of my family in every sense but blood, told me he f-ed my ex fiancé multiple times, stone cold sober, when we were engaged in 2017

So this person we will call Sam, has been my best friend since age 12. We were as close as any best friends could be. He literally integrated my family, which is big.

He was always with me, hanging out, family events, weddings, funerals, vacations, reunions… you name it. I loved him like a brother and we viewed each other as such, or so I thought.

Rewind to May 2017, id been with my then girlfriend for 3 years. We had a 2 year old together. I was in the middle of getting my shit together, going to school, working 60 hours a week, looking to better myself and family.

In July that year I proposed to her and we were so excited. Long story short, she got pregnant again, we pushed back the wedding, ended up separating in 2020 with a really messy break up.

Recently Sam and his fiancé were set to get married and she broke it off 2 weeks before for a number of reasons I don’t need to get into here.

I spent a few thousand out of pocket on the bachelor party and then organizing all the dudes to get together to support him so he wouldnt be alone on his wedding day. Just trying to be a good friend.

Well, they had a small trip planned before their big honeymoon and decided to go since it was nonrefundable. An obviously bad idea. Not sure what happened but they got in a big fight, and Sam drunkenly blurted out that he slept with (my fiancé)

Well obviously he sobered up and knew it would get back to me so he went into damage control and started controlling the narrative about how he was glad he could finally get this off his chest and he would grow from it and all that bullshit that no one is buying.

I eventually learned from him, that they slept together (at least) 3 times. The first was at my house while I wasn’t there.

If I find out my daughter was there I may murder him. And 2 more times after work at the restaurant they both worked at. While I’m sitting at home waiting for her to come home, she’s f-ing my best friend. Cool

Of course she denies it but why on earth would he implode his entire life, his 22 year friendship with me,all his friendships in our friend group which is big, any chance of reconciliation with fiancé, literally ruin his whole reputation, for something that wasn’t true? Makes zero sense. Makes a lot more sense that he’s telling the truth and she is just trying to save face

This is nuts. If I’d learned that she cheated on me with some random guy 6 years ago I’d be upset but it wouldn’t really change much. This feels like such an incredible stab in the back I cannot process it fully.

It wasn’t a one time drunken mistake. It was a conscious, sober, well devised plan to do that and not let me know for 6 years. It hurts. Just the ultimate betrayal.

My question is, how should I proceed from here?

WOMAN’S NEHNEHPOK TOO BIG, POPPED OUT OF HER DRESS DURING FAMILY GATHERING

0

I had a bewb slip at a family reunion

Recently there was a family reunion because of our grandma’s birthday. It was a big party, a little full as family reunions can be but also nice.

Many relatives were there that I haven’t seen in years so I had to retell half of my life’s story a couple of times – from my schooling days until now where I work as a teacher.

I’ll be blunt: I have huge bewbs. Some of my relatives knew me when I was still flat as a board. So I had to expect that to become a topic at least once in conversation.

I mostly had to assure that they weren’t fake and what macromastia means. That’s ok though because at this point of my life I learned to deal with my size, the attention and all that comes with it.

I’m affectionately called Aunt titi by some in my family and comfortable with it. I’m also not afraid of wearing revealing clothes from time to time. On that particular day I was wearing neck holder dress.

Later in the evening my nephew snuck up on me and hugged me from behind almost making my bewbs fall out of my dress pressing himself against my behind – which raised a couple of eyebrows already.

I just screamed and laughed trying to escape his grip – he’s a bit smaller than me but strong. Almost everyone looked at us playfully wrestling until I noticed that my left nip was out in the open and my entire bewb was about to escape the dress.

And before that could happen my sister went between us and helped me cover up. It wasn’t a big deal, once he let go I rearranged my dress and sat down with my nephew, my sister and a couple of friends to chat.

We were laughing at the whole thing but I could tell some of my family were really embarrassed by what happened and avoided me.

That hurt s bit and made me angry. So when my sister and her family went home later and my nephew launch himself at me for a full motorboating attack I just let it happen to show all these bigots how little I care.

28 Y.O MAN GOT SCAMMED AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN, NEVER LEARN LESSON & LOST ALL HIS SAVINGS

Family member stole money because scammed

John, 28, was scammed and lost all his personal saving. He asked his family for help and they decided to lend him money as he slowly pay them back.

John, scammed again and need more money, asked his cousins for help. Family found out again and still decided to lend him money for his necessities (i.e. bills, daily food etc).

Fast forward about a week, John took his parents’ atm card because he thinks he can get his money back, stole 25% (below 20k) and got scammed AGAIN.

Parents are very unconfrontational and wants to forgive, citing that John keeps threatening to commit not unalive himself and that money can be earned back despite John scolding his Parents for telling on him as well).

Seems like John was being scammed dby the same person (give 3k, they’ll promise back 8k etc etc). Which is odd because he is usually very levelheaded and people-smart.

John’s sibling is furious that Parents is willing to forget everything that happened because they have placed tighter security on their atm card and bank accounts.

What should John’s sibling do? Fold that unfilial stupid John in half (possibly get arrested for assault)? Call police to arrest John (Parents will be upset, ruins John’s life cuz jail, Parents might side with John because they don’t want him to go to jail)?

Edit: Thank you everyone for your comments. It is very assuring to have a wide pool of opinions on this matter.

Police report was made when John got scammed for the 1st time. Now that he has stolen money from my parents’ bank account, should I report John to the police for theft?

Netizens’ comments

  1. Separate money, bank accounts, stay courteous but stand your ground that you will not be around while they consciously sink their ship.
Also which idiot gets scammed the same way again and again?
They are probably gambling the money away or are part of sextortion.
Separate finances. Be ready to take a loss on other family assets. Protect yourself. Let them stay in their sinking ship.
  2. Or is he… the real scammer?
  3. John was not scammed. John is the scammer.
  4. It’s not a case of scam. A 1000% it’s a gambling/addiction thing. The MO has been the same probably since the beginning of time – i.e., lying to your loved ones to fund your addiction.

OFFICE WORKERS SAY WORKING AT CBD NOT CHEAP, EAT LUNCH 1 TIME = $8 TO $15 GONE

How is working in corporate / CBD like?

I see a lot of people on TikTok posting that their work life in the cbd is really good. The office looks so new and modern, free flow of snacks, time to go for gym classes in the town area. Makes me feel like the lifestyle is really good compared to working in other areas like industrial parks or other office areas.

What are the pros and cons of working in corporate or working in the cbd area?

Asking those who work in corporate. Is working in cbd really is good as what it is shown? I feel there is so much things to do in the cbd area compared to other areas with industrial parks. Except of course the crowded mrt rides in 8am in the morning.

Feel free to pm me to share your experiences as well , I would love to hear your experiences working in the town area in Singapore.

Netizens’ comments

  1. No one is incentivised to put unglamourous things on social media.
Expect food and transport costs to more than double when working in CBD (basic meal is $8-15 vs $5-8 in industrial areas; more frequent restaurant and cafe visits).
Also expect the pace of life to be incredibly hectic. Imagine joining an incredible crowd of people heading into work at 8am each day, or being stuck in dense slow traffic, then scattering to your ultra-dense office blocks, and doing that return journey home. During lunch break, instead of a slow stroll to the nearest coffee shop or a communal car ride to a lunch place nearby, you take a lift downstairs into the dense lunch crowd and walk to your chosen location, filled with people rushing to get their meal before their 1hour break ends.
    Perks include:
-prestige of working in a gleaming tower block located in CBD
-your typical office has nicer renovation (not always) since the kind of company that needs a CBD office also needs to put on a show for employees and customers.
-more interesting food and dining options and restaurants around
-easy access to amenities (gym, leisure places after work, etc)
-other perks like snacks vary from company to company, though I’ve heard of more companies even in industrial areas realise the value of a good snack corner or private napping room.
  2. Working in MBFC area is really expensive!! Lunch is really expensive. I dunno why. My colleagues alwyas like to eat in the malll. Going LpS is like being on a diet. You go alone.
  3. WFH better. CBD means your expenses go up too.
