S’POREAN MAN USED INDONESIAN MAN’S IDENTITY TO ENTER S’PORE MULTIPLE TIMES, JAILED

0

52-year-old Singaporean Amran Abdul Sattar pleaded guilty to 8 charges under the Immigration Act and was sentenced to 22 weeks imprisonment on 20 April, according to The Straits Times.

He had moved to Indonesia to start a new life and overstayed there, before assuming a different identity and got himself 2 Indonesian passports, using them to travel to Singapore several times from 2007 to 2016.

He had last used his own Singapore passport back on 28 December 2004 when he left Singapore for Indonesia to work as a translator, staying there for about 2 months before realising that he had overstayed in the country.

However, he didn’t go to the authorities for help because he was afraid of being arrested for overstaying in Indonesia, and on top of that, he had also lost his Singapore passport as well.

Amran then asked a friend to help him out and get an Indonesian identity card under the name of “Indra Shahdan” so that he could continue staying in Indonesia without any consequences.

He paid 5 million rupiahs for the passport in 2007, with the passport bearing his own photo but had the particulars of “Indra Shahdan”.

It was not revealed if this “Indra Shahdan” is real or if he actually exists, and about Amran’s friend and how he managed to get the passport and identity card.

Amran use the Indonesian passport that he had bought to travel in and out of Singapore in 2007 and 2008, before forking out 350,000 rupiahs in 2016 to buy a second Indonesian passport that had his own photo but bearing the particulars of this “Indra Shahdan”.

He claimed that he had the necessary documents to apply for an Indonesian passport because he had gotten married to an Indonesian woman in June 2008, with the documents including a marriage certificate and an Indonesian identity card.

Amran used his second Indonesian passport on 16 February 2016 and showed it to an immigration officer at the Singapore Cruise Centre.

He claimed to be Indra on his disembarkation form and that he had never used a passport under a different name to enter Singapore and the immigration officer then unsuspectingly granted him a 30-day visit pass.

Later that year, he went on to commit similar offences at the Singapore Cruise Centre.

It was not made known how his crimes were found out, but he was eventually arrested at a Chai Chee flat near Bedok North on 15 March last month by officers from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority.

23 Y.O WOMAN PENETRATED 15 Y.O GIRL IN THE SAME ROOM AS HER MUM, JAILED 10 MONTHS

0

23-year-old Tuan Siti Aishah, was sentenced to 10 months imprisonment after pleading guilty on 19 April to one count of penetrating a minor under the age of 16, according to The Straits Times.

The victim cannot be identified because of a court order protecting her identity.

She also pleaded guilty to two counts of theft for stealing alcohol from a convenience store in Yishun and was sentenced to 2 weeks imprisonment for those offences as well.

What happened?

On 12 September 2022 at about 4pm, Tuan met up with the 15-year-old victim at the latter’s void deck with 2 other friends to drink alcohol.

Tuan got drunk at about 11pm and the victim then brought her to her flat to rest.

The victim offered Tuan the bottom bunk of a double decker bed at her home, with her mother sleeping on the upper bunk, but the woman asked to sleep on a mattress on the floor instead.

The victim then pulled out a mattress and proceeded to lie down on it with Tuan behind her, and the latter then placed her arms around the girl and cuddled with her, before penetrating her without warning and kissing her on her cheek.

She later penetrated the victim again and the girl then got up from the mattress and move to the bottom bunk of the double decker bed instead, with the woman remaining on the mattress on the floor.

Later that month, the victim then told her form teacher about the incident and a police report was then lodged.

Stole alcohol

In a separate incident on 24 December 2021, Tuan was with two 17-year-old girls and stole alcohol from a convenience store in Yishun.

The group entered the store and Tuan encouraged them to steal a bottle of vodka, before she later returned and stole another bottle of vodka.

19 Y.O GIRL MADE TO SEND OBSCENE VIDEOS OF HERSELF TO “PROVE INNOCENCE” TO CHINA SCAMMERS

MISSING PERSON-TURNED-VICTIM OF A CHINA OFFICIAL IMPERSONATION SCAM TRACED BY POLICE WITHIN SIX HOURS

On 17 April 2023, the Police received a report that a 19-year-old woman (“the victim”) had allegedly been kidnapped. Prior to the report, the victim’s parents, who were based in China, received a video of the victim clad in torn clothing with her hands tied. The video was accompanied with a ransom demand from an unknown person communicating in Mandarin. The victim’s parents contacted the teacher based in Singapore, who in turn reported the incident to the Police.

Following the report, officers from Clementi Police Division, Criminal Investigation Department, Police Intelligence Department and Commercial Affairs Department conducted extensive follow-up investigations and tracked down the victim within six hours at Woodlands Checkpoint. She was subsequently established to be a victim of a China Official Impersonation Scam.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim had received an unsolicited call sometime in early April 2023, purportedly from an Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officer. The scammer alleged that the victim had spread false news on COVID-19 in Guangzhou, China. The victim was then routed to another scammer who masqueraded as the “China Police” for investigations. As part of the purported ongoing investigations, the victim was made to report to the “China Police” in real time through continuous video calls 24/7 over a messaging application on her mobile phone.

The scammer further told the victim that she might be deported back to her home country to face prosecution if she was unable to furnish the bail amount. Under such ruse, the victim was requested to furnish RMB 1,000,000 as “bail”. The victim could not raise the bail amount. Consequently, she was told to record and provide obscene videos of herself to prove her innocence for a separate criminal case. The victim complied out of fear and in her confused state.

Sometime on 17 April 2023, the scammer instructed the victim to isolate herself and cease communication with others, to facilitate their investigations. The scammer instructed the victim to take a video recording of herself with her hands tied up to pretend that she had been captured. The victim was also told that the video would be used for their investigations to lure and arrest other syndicate members.

Unbeknownst to the victim, the scammers sent threats using the victim’s self-recorded video to her parents. Pursuant to the police report, the Police responded swiftly and tracked down the victim. Police investigations into the case are ongoing.

The Police would like to highlight that overseas law enforcement agencies have no jurisdiction to conduct operations in Singapore, arrest anyone or ask members of the public to help with any form of investigations without the approval of the Singapore Government. HALF OF JOHOR CUSTOMS’ COUNTERS NOT OPEN, KENA GAN BY JOHOR CHIEF MINISTER

Johor Chief Minister Onn Hafiz Ghazi was performing a spot check at the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Checkpoint at the Sultan Iskandar Building in Johor Bahru, ahead of the Hari Raya Puasa weekend tomorrow (22 April), where longer waiting times and heavy traffic are expected for travellers heading to Malaysia.

And he was not happy with what he saw during his spot checks.

The minister had previously told the customs officials at Johor Bahjru to open all immigration counters without interruption, but during his spot check, found that about half of the counters were closed, according to SG Road Vigilante – SGRV on Facebook.

Hafiz was seen in a video now circulating online, questioning one of the customs officials “how many lanes are open?” while inspecting the vehicles going through customs.

The visibly upset minister was seen telling the customs official to sort out their human resources at the checkpoint, lamenting how the “issue has been going on for too long” and telling them “I’m here, I’m going to wait until it’s settled.”

Hafiz told the Malaysian media on 19 April that at the moment, the level of efficiency at their checkpoints is at 80%, and added that he had requested for all the immigration counters to be working.

Netizens’ comments

ENTITLED & SPOILT BRAT SAYS SHE WON’T EAT AT KOPITIAM & ONLY WEAR DEPARTMENT STORE CLOTHES

0

Me as an entitled spoilt brat will never step in any kpt, food courts and only ate at fast foods/restaurants, only wore clothes from those department stores like isetan/metro etc cause i felt so paiseh to just “step down”.

Family was well off to let me have 0 finances idea cause i can just ask the money from parents, grandparents. Despite living in a HDB, our family had a condo here and had a holiday condo in JB.

Until the 07/08 financial crisis started that almost make my parents business went bankrupt in 11/12. It was so bad that we had to sell off both the condos and I had to start working to support my ill mum and almost useless father then.

Until my mum took out all her investments to help my father to get a taxi licence, every single expense was on the top of my head.

At the time being, my parents also filed for divorce. Crushed every single bit of the princess me. Battled mental illness when the debt is cleared due to it.

Glad that it changed me. Found out most good food came from kpt and happy there is still roof on top of me. But anxiety is still there lah, can’t deny though.

Netizens’ comments

  1. More like your backstory I see than a wake up call?
  2. Don’t think you’re going to receive many replies because I doubt people are going to admit they were once spoilt brats.
  3. I’m not spoilt but I do have a friend who is in his 30s, never worked a single day in his life and his parents give him $3k every months as allowance. Never washed clothes, cooked, or even folded his own clothes before, everything maid do for him. Doesn’t even know how to use a washing machine. Even during NS, use parents money see so many specialist until downpes and became admin, every day book out and bring uniform home for maid to wash. Complains about eating at coffeeshops because it’s too warm.

COUPLE SPLIT BILLS PROPORTIONALLY, THEN GF GOT PAY RAISE & REFUSED TO PAY MORE

0

expecting my girlfriend to pay proportional rent and bills?

I (M29) have lived together with my girlfriend (F29) for three years. We have always split bills and rent proportional to income (she introduced this idea and explained why she supports its equitable breakdown) and we both do chores and housework equally.

Up until a month ago, I earned almost double her income. However, my company has been doing pay cuts and my girlfriend recently got a major promotion, so now she makes about 50% more than I do.

However, now she wants us to “either keep the rent/bills pay distribution as it was before” (as in she pays 35% and I pay 65%) or she “will pay 50/50, max.”

I asked her why we are not doing proportional splits anymore and she said I should just be grateful that she is flexible enough to upend her finances for me and split it 50/50.

She’s been cold with me recently and told me she shouldn’t have to punish herself for her financial successes and that my “lack of adaptability is off putting.”

I am seriously considering leaving her, given her newfound selfishness and hypocrisy.

The only reason I received a pay cut was because of company reorganization. It is also extremely likely that I will be appointed to a major executive position this year, which would give me over 4x my current salary.

When it starts flowing in, I can enjoy that money on my own.

Netizens’ comments

  1. So it’s appropriate to pay proportional when you make more than she does, but 50/50 when she makes more than you?
    Yeah. No. That doesn’t work.
  2. I’m sorry but I’d break up and move out after she says this. I don’t even think I’d bring it up in a discussion with her. She’s so manipulative and I don’t think I’d want to share anything not rent or even a life together with her because she’d just take and taaakkeeee! Imagine her telling him he should be grateful! I’m fuming!
  3. She has one foot out the door already and is trying to save money for the inevitable break up. Get out now.
  4. She’s counting on this not being something you want to break up over. TBH if I was you, this WOULD be the hill I die on. F that.
  5. Red flags everywhere. She is one of those people who want everything equal till they are the one getting the benefits. She showed her ture colours. Dump her you deserve better

GUY FAKES HIS LIFESTYLE ON SOCIAL MEDIA, KAYSIAO “INVITED TO PARTIES” BUT IS HE SHOW UP HIMSELF

0

How far do people go to fake their lifestyle social media?

I understand that people always try to portray that best side of themselves on social media, but where do you draw the line between showing your good side and deception?

How far do people actually go to fake a persona online?

I have a classmate who‘a working as an air steward and his stories will always start with something like “Me having dinner with my crew say hello everybody!!” and he will pan the camera to everyone waving.

But another friend of ours who is also an air stewardess said that no one actually invited him cause he is a pain to be around with but he will causally invite himself.

He spends 90% of the time talking about himself and his luxury purchases and people weren’t having it. And after the cameras are off, people will engage in their own conversations and he will be left alone at the table.

Even when they head out to explore the country or visit tourist attractions, they wouldn’t invite him but for some reasons he’ll “coincidentally” be there with the rest.

And my favourite fake persona of all time, the one who cried wolf about being poor. TSKTSK.

Do you have people you know who go all out to fake a persona? How or what did they do?

Netizens’ comments

  1. Which is why I don’t bother checking up people on social media. People only put their best moments on there. Had a colleague who seemed to be in such a loving relationship as per his social media and then suddenly he got divorced.
  2. *Ahem* insurance agents *ahem*
  3. Had an ex-friend who used to post about how great her life is but when I ask her other friends, they mention that shes barely scraping by. Never believe those stories of people who have 100% great life and 0% hardships.
  4. Think of it this way, you will usually post about something you rarely do, so it is special to you.
If you gym everyday, its unlikely you will post about yourself gymming.
If I wake up early everyday to run, I wouldnt post about it, but if that morning I decided to wake up early to run, I might post about it to commemorate the occasion.
If you eat cafe food everyday, its unlikely you will post about cafe food. Its like we dont post hawker food, but when we go cafe we post the food. because its a ‘special’ occasion. Its not us faking that we eat cafe food often but actually eat hawker everyday but only post cafe food.
I eat lunch everyday with my colleagues, so i dont post about eating with them. But when I meet up with my friend who maybe i meet once a month/quarter, I might make a post.
