Potential penalties

Under Singapore’s Penal Code, shoplifting is considered a form of theft. Shoplifting refers to the act of stealing merchandise from a store or retail establishment without paying for it. It is a common form of theft that can occur anywhere, from small convenience stores to large shopping malls.

In Singapore, shop theft is punishable by law, and the penalties for committing this offence can be severe. The severity of the punishment depends on the value of the stolen items and the offender’s previous criminal record.

For items valued at less than $500, the offender may face a fine of up to $1,000 or a jail term of up to three months, or both. If the stolen goods are worth more than $500, the offender may face a fine of up to $5,000 or a jail term of up to seven years, or both.

In addition to these penalties, the offender may also be required to perform community service or undergo counselling. The court may also order the offender to pay compensation to the store owner or to return the stolen goods.

Repeat offenders face even harsher penalties. If a person has been convicted of shoplifting before, and they commit the offence again, they may face a jail term of up to three years, or a fine of up to $10,000, or both.

GOJEK DRIVER DULAN AFTER PAX TOLD HIM TO “GET A BIGGER CAR” CAUSE HIS 2 BAGS CAN’T FIT

0

A Gojek driver took to TikTok (@fransterwong) to share about an unpleasant experience with a passenger, who purportedly told him to get a bigger car because his 2 bags couldn’t fit into the car boot of the Honda Vezel.

Wong shared in his video that he received a one-star review from a male passenger on 17 March and that usually he doesn’t care about the comments but this one is “too much”.

For context, the male passenger wrote in his review:

“Car boot is small and cannot accommodate 1 big and 1 carry on luggage. Driver does not help load the bags from pick up point and also does not help offload the bags at destination. Driver claims that for 2 bags, need to book a XL car.”

Responding to the review, a visibly irritated Wong said that the complaint was not fair to him because he drives a Honda Vezel, which could easily fit the customer’s 2 luggage.

He said in a mixture of Mandarin and English “I’m driving a Honda Vezel, confirm can put your bags one. You are the one who doesn’t know how to fit the bags in the boot.”

Wong then responded to the man’s claim that he didn’t help to load the bags at pick up and drop off, saying: “Eh hello, when I alighted from the car, I asked you if you needed help and you told me no.”

He then added that the passenger boarded the car with a carry on luggage in tow, which Wong thought it was because the man wanted to take something from the luggage.

Wong then started driving and the man then told him “I think you need to change to a bigger car,” to which Wong then felt insulted and said “you ask me to change to a bigger car, you hoseh bo? Why don’t you book a bigger car leh?”

He then added that when he reached the destination, he asked the passenger “do you need help or not?” and the man told him “no I can manage,” but in the man’s review he said, “driver claims for 2 bags need to book XL car.”

Wong then retorted, “I was trying to tell you if you want a big car with a big boot, you should book the XL car, I’m not saying 2 bags need to book XL okay!”

JOBLESS MAN SUDDENLY BUYS DIAMOND RING FOR GF, SHE WONDERS WHERE HE GOT THE MONEY

0

My heart was pounding as I looked down at the diamond ring my boyfriend had just presented to me. It had to have cost a fortune, and I knew he didn’t have that kind of money.

When I asked him where he got it, he just smiled and said he had his ways.

He got no income, so I was scared that he had done illegal things to get the money

I was torn between joy and fear. On the one hand, I was so touched by his gesture and the thoughtfulness behind it.

On the other hand, I was worried that he had done something illegal to get the money. He had been jobless for months and had no visible means of income.

My boyfriend had always been a good person, so I didn’t want to believe that he was involved in something shady.

I tried to convince myself that he had just somehow managed to find a good job and had saved up enough money to buy the ring. But I couldn’t help but feel uneasy.

We talked about it for a while, but he wouldn’t tell me anything. He just kept telling me that I didn’t need to worry, and that he had everything under control. I wanted to believe him, but the nagging doubt was still there.

Finally, I decided to let it go. We were happy and in love, and I didn’t want to spoil it by being suspicious. I told him that I trusted him and accepted the ring.

We celebrated and enjoyed our time together, but the whole time I couldn’t help but think about the source of the money.

Till date, I still haven’t got my answer on where he got his money from and he is still all fine and still in one piece so I guess I will just let things be as it is.

MAN LOST HIS JOB BECAUSE HE CONSTANTLY BELITTLES OTHERS & THINKS HE’S THE BEST

0

I always thought I was the best. No matter what I did, I always thought I could do it better than everyone else.

I had an inflated sense of self-importance and believed that my opinions and ideas were always the most valid and I was always quick to criticize and belittle others, no matter how good their ideas or opinions were.

I always shut people off without giving any heed to their comments

I had a terrible habit of shutting people off without considering their comments or ideas. I was so convinced that I was right that I rarely gave other people the time of day.

I had an “I know best” attitude and never hesitated to make it known. I was so full of myself that I failed to realize the damage I was doing to those around me.

My colleagues began to resent me and my superiors had to constantly remind me to be more open-minded and considerate of those around me.

I was so focused on being the best that I forgot the importance of collaboration. Everyone around me was so fed up with my attitude that they eventually stopped trying to get through to me.

I was so sure I was right that I wasn’t willing to listen to anyone else. I was so focused on my own thoughts and ideas that I was blind to the fact that everyone else had something valuable to contribute.

I was so stubborn that I couldn’t see the damage I was doing to the team.

Because I was causing the team dynamics to be bad, I was asked to leave

In the end, my attitude cost me my job. I was so convinced that I was the best that I failed to realize that I needed to act with humility and respect.

I had a tendency to belittle everyone around me, no matter how good they were. This caused a lot of tension in the workplace and eventually led to my termination.

Eventually, my inflated sense of self-importance had cost me dearly. I had never taken the time to really listen to anyone else and consider their opinions.

Instead, I was so sure that I was the best that I failed to realize the importance of collaboration.

I had been so convinced that I was right and everyone else was wrong that I had shut everyone off without considering their comments or ideas.

My pride had cost me my job and my reputation.

MAN FOUND OUT HIS GF OF 11 YEARS IS WORKING AS AN ESCORT

0

I never thought I would be writing about this, but here I am. My girlfriend of 11 years broke up with me after I found out she had been working as an escort.

I met my now ex-girlfriend in college. We were both studying the same major and we hit it off right away. We got together a few months after meeting and it felt like the start of something really special. We were together for almost 11 years and I thought we were going to be together forever.

But all that changed when I found out she had been working as an escort. I didn’t want to believe it at first, but the more I looked into it, the more I realized it was true. She had been seeing clients for the past few months and had been making a lot of money.

When I confronted her about it, she was honest and admitted that she had been doing it. She said she had been doing it to make extra money and that it wasn’t something she was proud of. I could tell she was ashamed and embarrassed, but I couldn’t get past the fact that she had been lying to me for months.

I just couldn’t get past the betrayal I felt. We had been together for 11 years and I had trusted her. To find out she had been lying to me and working as an escort was too much. I didn’t want to be with someone who was willing to do that kind of thing.

So, we decided to break up. It was hard, but I knew it was the right thing to do. We both needed to move on and be happy.

It’s been a few weeks since we broke up and I’m still dealing with the shock of it all. I can’t believe she was willing to do something like that and that she was willing to lie to me about it. It’s been hard, but I’m trying to move on and focus on the future.

I know it’s going to take time to get over this, but I’m determined to find a way. I’m trying to stay positive and remember the good times we shared. I just hope that one day I can find someone who is willing to be honest and trustworthy.

XMM DROPPED $40, PRC WOMAN PICKS IT UP & REFUSES TO RETURN UNTIL GIRL KNEEL DOWN & BEG

A schoolgirl was seen begging on her knees after an older woman picked up the money that she (the girl) dropped and refused to return it to her.

The incident happened in Guangzhou, China, and a video of the incident was shared on Weibo and Douyin, garnering over 30 million views.

The girl had dropped 200 yuan (about SGD$38.90), which was her weekly allowance, and it was picked up by the woman who wanted to keep the money for herself.

What happened?

The schoolgirl was seen in the video crying after the woman had refused to return her the money that she dropped.

The woman was reported as saying “whoever picked up the money owns it,” to which the schoolgirl’s friend then retorted that they saw the woman picking up the money from the road, which belonged to her friend.

The schoolgirl then started screaming at the top of her lungs for her money to be returned, drawing the attention of other passers-by.

The man who was filming the incident, presumably also a passer-by who witnessed the confrontation and stepped in to help, was heard in the video saying that it was wrong for the woman to take the girl’s money.

He told the woman “we saw you picking up the money, you should return it to the girl. Even if it’s 1,000 yuan you should return it, much less 200 yuan”.

Other passers-by also stepped in to help as well, telling the girl to call her parents.

The girl then shouted that her parents didn’t live with her and the money was very important to her because it was her weekly allowance.

She said that her parents worked in another city and she is living with her grandparents.

The situation then escalated further with the girl getting down on her knees and begging the woman for the money back, as more passers-by stepped in.

The woman eventually relented and returned the money to the girl, who was still on her knees begging.

MAN FALL IN LOVE WITH KTV GIRL, SHE BROUGHT HIM HOME TO SEE PARENTS

0

Love found me in the least expected place

So my girlfriend of almost a year is a VB. She works in a ktv. Yes, I’m absolutely clear the notion of that alone is frown upon and I perfectly understand because I was once like that.

Never thought I would date a young, hot and smart VB

I’m close to mid 30s, had my fair share of tiong days as well. Tiong for more than 10 years and never once did the thought of dating a VB crossed my mind.

But it happened. Sounds cliche but it was love at first sight.

I’m not rich, earning enough to sustain my lifestyle and save abit. No fancy cars to drive either. Not K pop handsome either, possibly slightly above average only.

Now some quick description about her. (Wouldn’t be able to share too much since she’s still in this line). She’s young, hot and extremely smart.

Long queues of way richer bros waiting to get into her pants. Not inclusive of those like me who got mesmerized by her at first sight.

I’m even close to 100% sure some bros here even know her.

I consider myself the luckiest among the lot for her to love me. I didn’t step into that ktv looking for love, but love found me there.

She loved me more than any ex girlfriends ever did, referring to those I was in serious r/s with.

Brought me home to see her family

Cut the story short, we brought each other home and was introduced to our fam. We spoke about marriage, kids, future plans etc.

I haven’t spent a single dime on the so called “village matters”. She managed it all on her own.

Throughout this journey so far, I admit we have our fair share of quarrels. Jealousy is one of the main killers here and trust is key.

Who can ever tolerate knowing the fact that guys are pawing at her while she’s working? I came to terms with it…

I’ll be glad to share more and if any bros who are in the same boat, I could use some form of comfort knowing that there are also others out there like us.
