CRAZY AH GONG HOLDS CRYING GRANDSON OVER BALCONY TO “PUNISH” HIM, ARRESTED

0

In a shocking incident that unfolded in Hong Kong, an elderly man resorted to an extreme method of punishment to discipline his grandson.

Videos capturing this distressing event were uploaded to Facebook by a concerned neighbor, shedding light on the incident.

The Alarming Scene

The incident, which occurred on a Sunday night (10 September), depicted the elderly man dangling his distraught grandson over the balcony of their two-story home.

The child’s cries pierced the night as he was held precariously over the balcony railing while being scolded. After a few agonizing seconds, the elderly man returned the child to the safety of their home.

The boy was apparently being punished for breaking a glass cup.

Not the first time

This incident wasn’t an isolated occurrence. The concerned neighbor, in the same Facebook post, revealed that this disturbing behavior had been ongoing for the past two years.

The child had not only been subjected to physical mistreatmennt but also endured harsh scolding and emotional trauma.

Shockingly, the neighbor claimed to have once heard the elderly man using an electric mosquito swatter to discipline the child, adding another layer of cruelty to the situation.

The Victim: A Six-Year-Old Boy

The victim of this appalling incident is a six-year-old boy who lived with his grandfather in Sai Kung. His father, working in mainland China, had entrusted the care of his son to the elderly man, according to HK01.

This arrangement was meant to provide the child with a stable environment while his father pursued work opportunities. However, the events that transpired paint a grim picture of the child’s living conditions.

The Trigger: An Accidental Break

On the following Monday following the incident, the child went to school and a social worker approached him, concerned about his well-being and asked him about what had happened.

When asked about the incident, the child disclosed that it all began when he accidentally broke a glass cup, angering his grandfather. This seemingly trivial event led to the traumatic ordeal that followed.

In addition to being dangled over the balcony, the child revealed that his grandfather had also hit his left foot.

Disturbed by the child’s account, the social worker took immediate action and contacted the school authorities to verify the details. With the facts confirmed, welfare authorities promptly lodged a police report.

Legal Consequences

The grandfather, 66-year-old Mr Tse, was subsequently arrested on Tuesday morning, on suspicion of “ill-treatment or neglect by those in charge of child or young person,” according to The Standard.

Following the arrest, the boy was taken to the Tseung Kwan O Hospital for a comprehensive medical examination. Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported.

BUS CONDUCTOR PENGSAN & K.Os AFTER PASSENGER BROUGHT DURIAN ONTO BUS

0

A bus conductor who was apparently allergic to durians, fainted after a passenger had brought a durian on board the bus, resulting in her requiring medical attention and being sent to the hospital.

The Culprit: A Thorny Intruder

The bus conductor, Srisong shared about her encounter with the notorious fruit that happened on a regular bus ride.

Another passenger, unaware of her allergy, brought a durian on board, unknowingly turning the bus into a potential danger zone. Durians are banned on public transport in Thailand due to their overpowering smell, which can disturb other passengers.

Upon spotting the durian, Srisong took immediate action and asked the passenger to disembark with the fruit.

However, even a brief exposure to the durian’s scent triggered a severe allergic reaction. She described feeling “tightness in her chest and struggling to breathe” before eventually fainting.

The Emergency Response

A picture posted on social media showed Srisong lying on a row of seats on the bus, struggling for breath. A concerned passenger, clad in a jacket, was attempting to assist her, while another passenger waved a piece of material in the air to provide ventilation.

As she regained consciousness, Srisong felt compelled to issue a public service announcement (PSA).

She took to Facebook to emphasize the consequences of bringing durians onto public transport, saying, “When you bring durian onto the bus, it’s not just you who doesn’t get to continue (the journey), but many others might have to return home late because of you.”

Srisong expressed her gratitude to the rescuers who rushed her to the hospital. She also thanked the passengers who took care of her during the crisis and her supervisor, who promptly checked on her condition.

In a follow-up post, she informed her well-wishers that she was on the road to recovery and had even returned to work the next day.

Understanding the Durian Dilemma

In a subsequent interview with a Bangkok-based newspaper, Thairath, Srisong shed light on why she had such a severe reaction.

She explained, “If the passengers bring durians on board the bus, we can ask them to leave but the smell of the durian still lingers inside the vehicle.”

She cautioned the public against bringing items with strong odors, such as durian and fermented fish, on public transport, as this is strictly prohibited.

DRIVERS PARKED ON ROAD SHOULDER ON THE AYE, WAITING FOR ERP TO END BEFORE DRIVING

0

Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates have been increasing in recent times, as the government tries to combat the traffic congestion issue on Singapore roads; as such, drivers are trying to get around the charges through unorthodox methods.

Unusual Sight on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE)

A video then recently emerged online showing a number of drivers parking on the road shoulder of the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) during a peak hour, right before the ERP gantry.

What Were They Waiting For?

The drivers appeared to be waiting for the ERP gantry to turn off and for the ERP charges for that time period to stop, or for the charges to drop.

It may seem like an ingenious idea to avoid ERP charges, but the drivers are apparently running foul of the law, as cars shouldn’t stop on the road shoulders of expressways unless there are emergencies, or if their vehicles have broken down.

The Incident Caught on Camera

A video of the incident was shared on the SG Road Vigilante Facebook page on 11 Sep, at about 6.25pm according to the time displayed on the ERP gantry.

About 4 cars and another 4 motorcycles were seen in the video waiting on the road shoulder before the ERP gantry on the AYE, heading towards Clementi Road and before the exit.

They were waiting for the ERP gantry to turn off before they resumed their journey.

ERP Charges and Timing

According to One Motoring, the ERP charges for that time period of 6 pm to 6.25 pm was $1, before it drops to $0.50 from 6.25 pm to 6.30 pm.

The ERP charges then ends at 6.30 pm before the gantry turns off.

Under the Road Traffic Act, Road Traffic (Expressway Traffic) Rules; vehicles are not allowed to stop at the road shoulders of expressways except in the cases of emergencies or vehicle breakdowns.

WOMAN USED SCREENSHOTS OF PAYNOW TRANSACTION TO CHEAT JOO CHIAT EATERY 35 TIMES

0

A Chinese seafood restaurant in Joo Chiat has allegedly been a victim of a scam, losing more than $4,600 to a “regular customer” who has been using screenshots of PayNow transactions to cheat them for free meals for more than 2 years, according to a report by 8world.

The Elaborate Ruse

The elaborate scam involved the scammer utilizing Home of Seafood’s online ordering service. After enjoying a meal, they would send fabricated PayNow transfer screenshots to the restaurant, appearing to confirm successful payment.

It was a cunning strategy that had the owners, especially Bob, the restaurant owner, completely fooled. He shared with 8world that the scam had been running for 2 whole years, and the deception had only recently come to light.

Deceptive Authenticity

What makes this case truly perplexing is the level of detail that went into creating the counterfeit PayNow transfer screenshots.

Bob, the 43-year-old owner, expressed his astonishment at how realistic they looked. The timestamps and other crucial details appeared entirely accurate, making it nearly impossible for the restaurant staff to distinguish the fake transactions from genuine ones.

In his own words to Lianhe Zaobao, Bob admitted, “We couldn’t tell that the screenshots were fake at that moment.” This level of sophistication added an extra layer of complexity to the scam.

Repeated Patterns

Despite the scammer’s cunning tactics, one aspect remained consistent throughout the ordeal: their contact number. The restaurant owner noted that the scammer consistently used the same phone number to interact with the establishment.

However, the delivery addresses and the individuals picking up the food occasionally differed, adding another layer of confusion and misdirection to the scheme.

Exploiting a Loophole

To place an order through Home of Seafood’s online platform, customers were required to send a screenshot of their PayNow transfer via WhatsApp for payment verification.

Herein lay the critical loophole that the scammer successfully exploited. The previous accountant responsible for verifying payments didn’t thoroughly scrutinize the records, providing ample room for the scam to continue unchecked. It was only after a new accountant took over, at Bob’s insistence, that the truth began to emerge.

Bob revealed that verifying PayNow payments for online orders was a time-consuming task for the restaurant. Logging into the bank account each time to confirm payments became a cumbersome process.

Despite the scam, the restaurant remains committed to providing a convenient and trustworthy service to its genuine customers.

As Bob stated, “We cannot create inconvenience for other customers who are innocent, just because one customer decided to use PayNow to swindle us.”

Taking Legal Action

In response to the extensive scamming, Home of Seafood has taken the matter to the authorities and filed a police report.

Investigations are currently underway to identify the perpetrator and hold them accountable for their actions.

GUY WITH I.T DEGREE BUT WORKING IN MARKETING, FEELING LOST IN LIFE

0

A normal Singaporean here…

Study -> Army -> Uni -> BTO -> Married that kind of normal…

So far so good… But working for more than 10 years… I suddenly look at my CV and I feel its very empty…

I grad with IT degree but first job I did was related to rescue service… No linknto degree…

Second job admin… Then help desk… Then back to admin… And now marketing…

After all these… I feel like i am neither here or there… So recently someone asked me… What do you want to do? Go back to IT? Admin? Or expand in marketing… Which i have no degree or any knowledge to but got there due to a few successful projects I did during my help desk time…

Im not too sure what I want as I love all those!

Im just worried about making a wrong move forward… Talking to bosses wont help as they confirm ask me to stay…

Any advice out there?

Netizens’ comments

  • Is totally normal to do jobs that have no link to your degree, one of my ex lecturer told me only 3 out of his 40 ish cohort do something related to their studies.

It seems like you like jobs with boarder scopes than specialisation responsibilities, then you can search for jobs for such roles that is more suited for a generalist, on top of my head are product managers, business analyst, consultant etc.

Take pride of your past experience, you can easily pivot and make use of them. Like you can justify for example, because I have an IT and marketing background, I can easily code switch, communicate with different stakeholders and see the bigger picture.

  • Maybe take a break from work and do something outside that you enjoy like a hobby or games whatever.

Basically take some time for yourself and then start the grind again.

GUY HAS A RISKY SURGERY WITH 20% CHANCE OF DYING, BUT IS NOT AFRAID

0

i might die in 7 hours, and I’m not afraid.

I (14M) have a bone disease known as Multiple Hereditary Exostoses (MHE). It causes benign bone tumors to grow everywhere on my body. Although they aren’t cancerous, they are very painful when they are near a nerve.

A lot of these tumors have grown in my knees, fingers and ribs. You can probably guess there are a lot of nerves and muscles there that can be pinched and pierced. It hurts quite a lot. I am constantly at level 5 pain (scale of 1-10). I can only walk for up to 2 minutes, I can’t write (with a pen, if I couldnt type this post wouldnt exist lol) and I’m basically in agony.

We have decided I will go for surgery to saw off some of the most painful tumors in my knee. Hopefully this will restore my ability to walk. The doctors have also decided we should remove 2 of my ribs, which have cracked due to the tumors. They’ll be replaced with metal I think.

There is a 20% chance of death with all these very complicated procedures, and of course, a chance this surgery doesn’t change anything, or even makes it worse. Rolling less than 6 sided dice to determine if I live or die. But to be honest, I don’t really care what happens in this surgery.

If it works, great, I can walk again. If it fails and my condition stays the same/deteriorates, I’ve adapted to this disease enough. I can probably handle a few turns for the worst. And if I die, well, I suppose then there is no more pain.

My friends say it is wrong for me to feel okay about dying. I don’t exactly care if I die at this point. It’s in fate’s hands at this point.

In 7 hours, I’ll be on the operating table that’ll determine my destiny, see you on the other side

Netizens’ comments

  • A very good friend of mine has this. She went through surgery to remove some of the very painful ones around her spine I think.

She made a 100% recovery, and she was 27 years old and a smoker/drinker.

  • I probably have the same disease. When i was 15yo i had two biggest tumors removed, one from my arm and one from my leg. They were really big but in couple of days after the surgery i was slowly walking again. Today, more than 20 years later everything is still fine even though i have some more tumors left. After i stopped growing, they stopped growing. I guess what i am trying to tell you is to be brave and not give up. It will be better, you are stronger than the disease.

WOMAN CAN’T STAND HER 40 Y.O HUSBAND FOR BEING A “MUMMY’S BOY”

0

My hubby is almost 40 years old yet he speaks with his mother on the phone everyday. It’s either his mum calls him or he calls his mum.

I can’t stand such a mummy’s boy & honestly it’s a dealbreaker for me if I’d known about his habit when we were dating.

I visit my in-laws once to two times a week. It’s not like they can’t update each other then. Rmb it’s not emergency stuff that they’re updating each other everyday. She also doesn’t have major health issues.

She is very reliant on him on everything. She & her husband are moving to an estate close to us soon & I’m worried my hubby will run every small errand his parents esp. his mother asks of him simply because he chats with her everyday.

His mother asks him to do errands even when they live far apart, not to mention when they move near to us.

Guys, do you call your mum every day to update her about your day. I’m a girl and I don’t even do that! It’s creepy.

I’ve sounded this out to him by saying, ‘How come your mum calls you everyday?’ But he thinks nothing of it & doesn’t get the hint that I’m disgusted by it.

How can I make it clearer to him that he & his mum’s call routine is creepy? He may just hide, call & whisper in the toilet if I make it any more obvious.

Sorry, their kind of co-dependency is simply not healthy.

Netizens’ comments

  • My mum text and call me almost every single day. Your post does feel offensive to me.Im glad I have a wonderful husband who even talk to her n ask her how she’s doing. And i feel sorry to you, but esp. to ur husband n in law family.
  • I’m praying very hard when my sons grow up, they won’t marry a woman like you. Say in a bad way, they only have one MUMMY, but your position as wife…..they can change any time. And not as if she’s hindering your life. She’s talking to him, not you. He’s a very filial son, and I respect him. On the other hand, you, as a wife and daughter-in-law….not so much.
  • Are you for real? Sorry if you didn’t get much love and affection from your fam, but please, don’t deprive him of getting lots from his fam. There is a difference between a “mommy’s boy” and a close knit fam.

GIRL’S STEPDAD MISTREATED HER, NOW ALL ALONE WITH NO ONE LEFT

0

I’m glad my stepdad is sad after I barely associate with him

My sister revealed how sad my mom’s husband felt about me barely talking to him, and I’m happy about it.

Like any other black sheep of the family, he treated me like crap by doing his dirt behind the scenes blaming everyone else, mostly me, for his actions, and releasing any other anger he had onto me.

I finally got my big girl job and packed my bags, moved into my apartment, and barely talked to those who did me wrong growing up without any regrets.

Now, he’s all alone because no one in the family really likes him anymore and just knowing his karma has arrived brings me joy.

  • What he did to you wasn’t right, but time dilates and dilutes, forgiveness is a form of healing for you as well, you could try reaching out and help each other move on.
  • Good for you!

GUY WATCHES GORE ON TV, TELLS FRIEND HE WANTS TO DO THE SAME TO HIM

My friend made a disturbing joke, how do I proceed?

Today, my friend was going on about how he likes The Walking Dead. He then proceeds to talk about his favorite character.

He told me his name is Negan. He wanted to show me this villain so he went on YouTube and showed me the scene where he killed two characters called Abraham and Glenn.

During the whole thing, he kept saying “yo look at how he is laughing, that is so cool” ,”look at this savagery”, and “what an amazing character”.

Now as I was seeing the pummelling, where Negan used a baseball bat with barbed wire wrapped around it to smash Glenn in the head until his eyeball popped out, I felt sick to my stomach and felt angry about the barbaric scenes shown.

As he was pummelling, my friend jokingly said “I want to pummel you like that”. Now Ik he is joking with no bad intentions. Even if he tried, he can’t do anything to me.

The problem is, One, I am sick with what I saw so how do I deal w that. I can handle gore but it was the lack of humanity and how he continued even after death is what vexed me.

And two, should I be concerned with the joke he made and his infatuation of this sick character

Netizens’ comments

Your friend was ok, until he said he wanted to do that to you, i like Negan too, he’s a funny character and has some entertaining scenes in the comic and television series, but i’d never tell my friend i’d do what he did to them.

Him showing infatuation with this character is fine, people like The Joker, Darth Vader, Thanos, Jason Voorhees, and they are ok, the difference is, those people don’t go around saying “yeah i wanna kill half the people in the universe, that was so awesome.”
