CRATES OF BEER FELL OFF LORRY @ KALLANG, ROAD COVERED IN BEER & GLASS SHARDS

In the bustling streets of Kallang, several crates of what appears to be Carlsberg beers feel off of a lorry and shattered all over the road along Kallang.

Passers-by, going about their daily routines, paused to lend a helping hand to clean up after the several crates of Carlsberg beer fell off and created a waterfall of beer.

The incident was captured by a netizen @eeshark and shared on TikTok.

A Beer Waterfall Mishap

The incident took place on a seemingly ordinary day when a lorry loaded with crates of Carlsberg beer was navigating a turn from Beach Road into Republic Avenue.

Unfortunately, during the turn, disaster struck as the crates toppled off the vehicle, causing a cascade of green glass and beer to spill onto the road.

As captured in the TikTok video, the middle lane was covered in shards of glass and a sea of spilled beer, presenting a perilous situation for both pedestrians and motorists.

The lorry came to a halt on the right-most lane, further complicating the traffic situation.

A Community Springs into Action

Passers-by, regardless of their initial intentions or destinations, then rallied together to address the chaos that had suddenly erupted on their streets.

With makeshift tools in hand, they began sweeping up the glass shards and cleaning the spilled beer.

While the TikTok video does not provide a precise timeline, the collective efforts of these passers-by eventually paid off. The spilled beer was cleared, and the shards of glass were carefully removed and the road was then restored to its previous condition.

ELDERLY GRANDPA WENT FOR A WALK WITH TODDLER GRANDSON, BOTH FOUND DEAD IN POND

0

Tragedy struck a quiet neighborhood in Malaysia on Monday, September 11th, when an evening stroll turned into a heart-wrenching incident.

An elderly man and his beloved toddler grandson, who were out for their routine walk, met a tragic end and were found dead inside a pond.

A Routine Evening Stroll Takes a Grim Turn

On that fateful evening, a tranquil neighborhood in Malaysia became the backdrop for a devastating incident. The elderly grandfather and his young grandson embarked on their evening stroll, a cherished routine for the duo. However, as the hours passed, their absence became a cause for concern.

Worry etched on his face, the boy’s father decided to take matters into his own hands. Unable to bear the uncertainty of their whereabouts, he began searching for his father and son. Little did he know the heartbreaking discovery that awaited him.

As he followed the trail of curious onlookers, the father found himself at a pond near a local restaurant in Taman Kempas, a neighborhood in Sungai Petani, Kedah, according to Sin Chew Daily.

What he saw sent shivers down his spine. In the dimming light of the evening, he spotted the lifeless bodies of his father and child, floating eerily in the water, according to The Star.

Swift Police Response

Upon receiving a distress call from an eyewitness at approximately 7:20 PM, local authorities were quick to respond. Officers from the Tikam Batu police station arrived at the scene just eight minutes later. With the help of concerned citizens, they retrieved the bodies from the one-meter-deep pond.

In an attempt to understand what had transpired, the police turned to the boy’s father for answers. He revealed that his father and son had a cherished evening ritual.

The 78-year-old grandfather would pick up his one-year-and-seven-month-old grandson from his mother, who worked at a nearby restaurant along Jalan Kempas, before embarking on their evening walk.

An Absence Raises Alarm

The alarm bells rang for the boy’s father when they failed to return home by 7:00 PM, their usual time. Concerned and fearing the worst, he went in search of them. Little did he know that he would be met with the sight of a crowd gathered around the pond, and the lifeless bodies of his father and child.

As the investigation unfolds, authorities have found no evidence of foul play. Medical officers who arrived at the scene confirmed the tragic fate of both victims. Both the elderly man and the toddler were pronounced dead on-site, as reported by Harian Metro.

To shed further light on this heartbreaking incident, the bodies of the grandfather and grandson have been sent to Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital for a post-mortem examination. This autopsy may provide more answers about the circumstances surrounding their tragic demise.

WOMAN GROPED & MOLESTED BY MAN WHILE LIVESTREAMING ALONE, SCREAMED FOR HELP

0

A South Korean woman, May5w, was live streaming alone on Twitch at a tram stop located in Central, Hong Kong, when she got molested and groped by a man live on stream, to the horror of her viewers.

Livestreaming with her fans at the time

The incident happened on 10 September at night, May5w was engaged in casual conversation with her viewers about tram timings and whether they had missed the last tram due to its tardiness. The atmosphere was relaxed, and viewers were enjoying the virtual tour of Hong Kong through her stream.

As May5w continued her livestream, a man dressed in black approached her. He seemed initially interested in the tram schedule, striking up a conversation with her.

May5w, being the kind-hearted person she is, offered to guide him to the train station when she decided to take the train instead.

Unwanted Advances and Discomfort

However, things took a dark turn when the man began making inappropriate physical contact. He placed his arm on her shoulders without her consent.

May5w, feeling uncomfortable, promptly brushed his arm away and attempted to distance herself from him. The situation escalated when the man grabbed her arm and insisted that she come with him.

May5w firmly and repeatedly told the man “no” as she proceeded to enter the train station. Desperate to escape, she was then cornered by the man who pinned her against a wall and telling her that he is alone.

She then retorted that she was not alone as the entire event unfolded live on her Twitch stream, much to the horror of her viewers who urged her to flee from him.

The situation deteriorated further as the man could be seen groping her from behind and attempting to kiss her face as she tried to fight him off.

When the man momentarily ceased his assault, she seized the opportunity to escape, running towards a passer-by and shouting for someone to help her.

The incident unfolded live, and May5w’s viewers were horrified by what they were witnessing. They immediately urged her to run and call the police.

The Aftermath

Following the incident, the police were alerted and began investigating the matter. The video evidence and May5w’s livestream provided crucial information for their inquiry into the man’s actions.

In the wake of this distressing encounter, May5w received an outpouring of support from her viewers and the online community at large.

The next day, May5w did another live stream to provide updates on the incident and shared that bruises that she suffered during the incident, saying that the man was holding on to her too tight and her bruises got worse.

However, she added that only the man is at fault here and not the country of Hong Kong.

The police are also trying to reach out to the woman as they commence investigations into the incident.

DOG RESCUED FROM 14TH-STOREY HDB LEDGE BY OFFICERS FROM SCDF, DART, SPF, SPCA & AVS

0

A rescue operation unfolded on September 9th at a HDB block in Hougang. A helpless pet dog found itself trapped on a perilous 14th-storey ledge, teetering on the edge of danger.

Thanks to the collaborative efforts of multiple agencies, the dog ended up being rescued and brought back to safety.

A Terrifying Perch

The drama unfolded at Block 928 Hougang Street 91 in the afternoon of September 9th. A concerned resident first spotted the dog precariously crawling around on the metal ledge at the 13th storey of the HDB block.

It remains a mystery as to how the dog ended up on this treacherous perch, but what soon emerged was that it belonged to a resident residing on the 15th floor.

With each passing moment, the tension in the air grew thicker. Members of the public, alarmed by the dog’s plight, quickly alerted the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).

The SPCA, in coordination with the police and personnel from the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), swiftly sprang into action.

The police took immediate steps to contact the dog’s owner, urging them to rush to the scene. In just 30 anxious minutes, the owner arrived, their heart undoubtedly in their throat.

Safety Measures and Support

While the rescue operation was underway, safety remained paramount. Safety nets and mattresses were strategically deployed as a contingency plan should the dog slip and fall from its precarious position.

A safety net was carefully installed between the 13th and 15th storey, with another net positioned at ground level.

In a move that underscored the gravity of the situation, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was summoned to provide support. The elite Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) was also activated, and SCDF personnel arrived on the scene, making it a multi-agency rescue operation.

The Tense Rescue

DART officers broke into the 14th-storey unit, the final hurdle separating the dog from safety and the dog’s owner then reached out to the animal through the window before securing a leash on the doggo’s body, before grabbing it and bringing it back into safety.

This nerve-wracking operation lasted approximately four hours, but the outcome was nothing short of spectacular. The rescued dog was safely returned to its owner’s loving arms, and a collective sigh of relief swept through the crowd of onlookers.

The SCDF confirmed that they received the call for assistance on September 9th, around 4:55 pm. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

SHANMUGAM DETAILS HOW THE $1.8 BILLION MONEY LAUNDERING CASE TOOK MONTHS TO UNCOVER

0

Singapore Minister of Law and Home Affairs, K Shanmugam, explained how the investigations into the now $1.8 billion money-laundering case came to be, in an interview with Lianhe Zaobao.

According to a transcript of the interview by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Shanmugam said that the case is one of Singapore’s largest anti-money laundering operations, with more than 400 officers conducting the raids in 1 day that saw 10 people arrested.

He said that prior to the raids, there had been many months of investigations being conducted.

Snippets of Shanmugam’s explanation

The amount seized is now closer to $1.8 billion, and it could be even more. This is one of Singapore’s largest anti-money laundering operations. More than 400 officers conducted the raids on a single day and 10 persons were arrested.

The investigations leading to this, have been going on for many months. There is a lot of interest. You can understand, the amount of money, other assets that have been seized.

When it first came out, the amount was about a billion dollars. Now, as I have said, closer to $1.8 billion, so catches the imagination, of course, the pictures of the cars, the houses, and so on.

So it is entirely understandable the amount of interest, and we are a major financial services centre.

Matter is before the courts, so as you said, not much I can say, investigations are ongoing. I can tell you that 10 persons, as some people know, have been charged.

On what will happen to the seized assets

The seized items are now under Police custody. That’s the way Police handle any seizure. If you file any Police report, a matter involving a $10,000 case and there’s a fraud, and Police seized some asset, they have a certain SOP, which is set out in the law.

They’ll keep it in custody, whether it’s $1.8 billion or you know, $18,000. The money or assets will have to be kept and dealt with. There’s a set procedure. The money and assets seized here will be dealt with in the same way that they’re dealt with in other cases.

What does that mean? Case will have to be dealt with in court. Once the case is over, the courts will decide how the assets will be dealt with. It depends on who the courts identify as owning the assets. These are issues that will have to be gone into based on whatever findings the courts make.

Suspects will have to serve sentences in Singapore if convicted

Again, how these people will be dealt with if they are found guilty or not found guilty, would be the same way in which others who are before our courts are dealt with.

Whenever a foreign national is convicted and sentenced in Singapore, that person will have to serve the sentence.

After completing the sentence – supposing it’s a custodial sentence, after serving jail – he or she may be deported out of Singapore to wherever the passport will allow the person to go.

You have a valid passport, it allows you to go somewhere, you can go to that place. But of course, if there is an extradition request from a country and assuming that, there is an agreement for extradition, extradition treaty, then we will comply with the treaty or arrangement.

VISUALLY IMPAIRED MAN KENA SCOLDED BY BUS DRIVER FOR “FLAGGING LATE”, ASKS FOR PATIENCE

0

A netizen who faces visual impairment due to an eye condition, shared his story on September 7th about how he got scolded by a bus driver for flagging it late.

The Challenge of Visual Impairment

The netizen, like many individuals with visual impairments, faces daily challenges that most of us take for granted. Due to his cataract and eye condition, he encounters difficulty in discerning details from a distance. For him, identifying the bus number is a task that requires proximity.

On that day, as he approached the bus bay, he could only see the bus number when it was nearly upon him.

In a rush to ensure he didn’t miss his ride, he flagged down the bus, albeit a tad late. This small delay, however, led to an unfortunate encounter with the bus driver.

The Harsh Encounter

The bus driver, unaware of his visual impairment, scolded him for flagging down the bus so late. The driver’s frustration was evident as he questioned his timing.

The netizen, feeling unfairly targeted, tried to explain his condition to the driver, emphasizing that his visual impairment made it impossible for him to see the bus number clearly from a distance.

A Call for Understanding

In his TikTok post, he made a heartfelt plea to all bus drivers and public transportation personnel. He expressed his hope that they could be more patient and understanding when dealing with people who have eye conditions.

His experience serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by those with disabilities and the importance of empathy in our daily interactions.

Amidst this disheartening encounter, there was a glimmer of hope. Another passenger who witnessed the incident approached him with words of support and kindness.

She encouraged him not to take the bus driver’s behavior to heart, and he was deeply touched by this compassionate gesture and expressed his gratitude for the stranger’s kindness.

MAN SHOCKED TO SEE TAPIR RUNNING PAST HIM @ PUNGGOL PCN, THOUGHT IT WAS A HORSE

Imagine a routine morning cycle turning into an exhilarating adventure as a majestic Malayan tapir dashes past you.

This extraordinary encounter became a reality for cyclist Pong Posadas, who shared his thrilling experience on Facebook.

The Unexpected Dash

It all unfolded on morning, September 10th, along the Punggol Park Connector Network (PCN). Pong Posadas, an avid cyclist, was enjoying his morning ride when the ordinary turned into something extraordinary.

As Posadas pedaled along, he suddenly heard a sound that he couldn’t quite place. In his own words, “I thought I was hearing a horse coming from behind me.” Intrigued and curious, he decided to slow down.

To his astonishment, what raced past him was not a horse but a Malayan tapir. This unique and unexpected sight left Posadas both shocked and amazed.

In his social media post, he exclaimed, “I just slowed down and let it pass and overtook me: It was a tapir!!!”

Posadas, understanding the need to maintain a safe distance from wild animals, continued cycling behind the tapir. He kept a respectful eight to ten meters away while capturing this moment on video.

A Glimpse of the Dash

The 36-second video footage shows the tapir sprinting along the PCN path. With its distinctive black and white coat, the tapir eventually slowed down and turned to glance at a startled Posadas, who decided to stop filming at that point.

Clearing Misconceptions

In the caption, Posadas made it clear that he was not chasing the tapir. He emphasized that the tapir was already running swiftly before it overtook him and that he maintained a distance of about 8 to 10 metres away from the animal while filming it.

Curious netizens inquired about the tapir’s fate. Posadas responded by sharing that the tapir had retreated into the water through an opening in the fences shortly after their encounter.

GUY UPSET THAT NO ONE WISHED HIM HAPPY BIRTHDAY ON FACEBOOK

0

A guy shared a story about how he was upset that there was not a single one of his Facebook friends who wished him a Happy Birthday on his Facebook even though he has almost 3,000 friends on Facebook.

He claims to know all these friends in person in some point of his life and every year he will still get wishes from a few hundred of them on Facebook no matter what.

Here is the story

“This story goes back to a few months ago, but I only found out about my screw up a few days back.

It was my birthday a few days back and I got a handful of Whatsapp/Telegram messages wishing me a happy birthday, but noticed not a single person from Facebook had written on my wall.

I go about my day and check Facebook again after work but there was still nothing. I started to get just a little upset before it hit me.

A few months ago, my birthday came up in a conversation with my niece. She couldn’t remember when was it and it was driving her crazy to find out since I disturbed her by saying that she is heartless to forget her own uncle’s birthday. I was getting a kick out of it.

I remember rushing to Facebook and changing my birthday settings to “only me” since I thought she will go there to look.

As it turns out I never changed those settings back, so I’m assuming nobody got a notification that it was my birthday. I changed the settings in the evening when I realized, but it must’ve been too late to make a difference.

On the bright side, now I know who cares about/remembers my birthday without relying on social media. Oh and my niece was the first one to tell me happy birthday, so not all was lost.”
