USED CUTLERIES SEEN STREWN ALL OVER TRAY RETURN AREA @ ALBERT CENTRE FOOD COURT

A netizen going by the alias of Kong MaLa recently shared a few photos on Facebook of the messy situation at Albert Centre located at 270 Queen Street, Singapore 180270.

Used cutleries seen strewn all over the tray return area

Images shared by the netizen showed used cutleries strewn all over the tray return area which was overcrowded with all the used bowls, plates and cutleries.

The mess had even spread to the hawker centre’s tables and chairs just beside the tray return area and all over the floor.

Due to the already messy tray return area, many consumers also did not bother to bring their used cutleries over and left their cutleries at the tables which they dined at.

It seems like they were being ‘considerate’ by not adding to the mess at the already dirty and uncleaned tray return area.

It is also unknown as to why the Food Centre allowed the tray return area to be in such a state of mess.

Here are what netizens think

  • Management problem or diners’ problem?
  • Whoever in charge prepare to ot like siao. What to do, cleaner reduce, everyone just put at the tray return area this is like the garbage dump concept.
  • Think about the workers, before the tray return system was implemented X amount of cleaners are available to standby to take, clean, wash and return the plates to the relevant store. Now is reduce X amount of cleaners, diners just put at the station, cleaners wash like no tomorrow, time reach, cleaners clock out (not enough staff for rotation), plates accumulated till 10 or after 10pm this is the outcome.
  • Staff need to have dinner too and it’s too bad unless company employ more staff to get rotation meal hour. It’s back to initial square one without tray return
  • U can’t blame diners for leaving all over the place since as the tray return area oredi filled up.

NETIZEN SAYS STARHUB SEND HIM LAWYER LETTER DEMANDING $1.5K PAYMENT WHICH HE NEVER SPENT

A netizen by the alias of Eng WinWin shared on Facebook on how he was a victim of a fraud scam and claims that Starhub is taking legal actions against him for a transaction that he did not initiate.

Here is the story

I’m really at my wits’ end because I was involved in a fraud scam. I would like to raise awareness and seek help from anyone here.

Starhub is taking legal actions against me for a *fraudulent transaction of $1,504.09 that I did not initiate*. My account was hacked and used to purchase game items (YoungJoy Technology Limited) on Google Play Store.

Here’s the timeline of what happened

19 Sep to 17 Oct 2021: Period where 11 unauthorised Google Play Content transactions were made

22 Oct 2021: I was finally aware of fraud when I received StarHub bill that was charged $1,343.90. Immediately called StarHub but was told to contact Google

24 Oct 2021: Filed police report

31 Oct 2021: Google replied but unable to help, told me to contact financial institution.

Nov 2021: As no financial institution was involved yet, I wrote back to StarHub. StarHub redirected me back to Google again

15 Nov 2021: I wrote to Google again but no response.

Nov 2021: Received another StarHub bill, total fraud transactions amounted to $1,504.09 (At this point I was v confused, because I alr flagged that this is a scam and that it should be cut off)

Dec 2021 to 2022: Back and forth communications of me following up with CASE, StarHub and Google.

Received lawyer’s letter from StarHub on 14/11/22

It’s just so frustrating to be taiji-ed and pushed around! No one wants to take responsibility to investigate the matter.

I should’ve brought this online earlier. Naive as I was, I thought I could trust big organisations like StarHub, Google and CASE to help make this right for their loyal customers but instead got thrown in the face with a lawyer’s letter.

As a consumer, i have no visibility of the processes between the companies and hope not to be forced to make payment for the unauthorised charges on my mobile bill.

I hope this reaches StarHub, that they take action to help with our case and spend resources in preventing such incidents from happening to other vulnerable consumers. The least I could ask for is to please stop stop stop pushing us around without any clarity of a specific point of contact for resolution.

For those reading, thank you for your time and advice if any! I have included the relevant materials such as police report, bills and letter sent to StarHub to support my story.

MAN WENT TO JB WITHOUT WIFE, GOT CAUGHT BY BROTHER IN LAW GOING TO SAME ‘SPA’

0

I had heard that there were some nice ‘spas’ in Johor Bahru and I thought I would take a day off and pay a visit. Little did I know, my brother-in-law was visiting the same spa for the same purpose as me.

I had never been deeper inside Johor Bahru before and I was excited to explore a new place. I took the train from Singapore and arrived in the city in the afternoon.

Found my way to the spa but bumped into my brother in law there

I quickly found the way to the ‘spa’ which I read the reviews online and decided to spend the afternoon there. I was looking forward to the massage and other services that were offered there.

Little did I know, my brother-in-law was also visiting the same spa. He had heard about the spa from some mutual friends and decided to check it out.

I was unaware of this and when I entered the spa, I was shocked to see him there.

He asked me what I was doing there. I was embarrassed and tried to make up an excuse but he wasn’t buying it.

He then told me that he was there for the same reason as I was and also all the men who came here – to pay for s- services.

Luckily he agreed not tell his sister, my wife

I was horrified and embarrassed. I knew I had to tell my wife what had happened but I was afraid she would be angry with me.

I begged my brother-in-law not to tell her and he reluctantly agreed.

Thankfully, he was not very close with his sister as they have always been arguing over small matter since young and they didn’t really like each other.

However, he warned me that if I ever did anything like this again, he would tell my wife. I promised him I would never do it again and I kept my word.

I learned a valuable lesson that day. It was a mistake that I will never make again.

I have a lot of respect for my brother-in-law for not telling my wife about my misdeed. I am eternally grateful for his mercy.

WIFE THINKS HUSBAND IS USELESS BECAUSE SHE GOT NO ALLOWANCE, FRIENDS GETTING $5K/MTH

0

When I married my husband, I had high hopes for our future. I thought that I would be able to live a life of luxury and comfort. I wanted to be able to do the things I love and make sure our children had everything they needed.

Unfortunately, my dreams have been dashed. My husband is useless when it comes to giving me an allowance.

My friends are getting allowances of $5,000 a month, while I get nothing

I have many friends who have generous husbands who give them an allowance of $5,000 a month. They can buy whatever they want and still have plenty left over for savings. I, on the other hand, have nothing.

I have asked him for a monthly allowance but he always gives me excuses. He says that he doesn’t have enough money or that he needs to save it for something else.

It’s not fair. I feel like I’m the one who is doing all the work while my husband just sits back and relaxes. I take care of all the household chores, the children, and anything else that needs to be done. I have no time for myself and I’m starting to feel resentful.

I have tried to talk to my husband about this but he just won’t listen. He always says that I should be grateful for what I have and that I should be content with what I make.

But I’m not content. I feel like I’m being taken advantage of. I’m the one working hard and he’s not contributing anything.

I know that money isn’t everything but it is a way to show appreciation and love. I want to feel like my husband values what I do and that he is willing to help out with our finances.

I want him to understand that I need an allowance so I can do the things I love and take care of our family.

MANY YP AH BENG WANNABES GAMBLE & OWE MONEY, THEN ZAO WHEN NO MONEY PAY

0

I was out with a large group of friends and we were enjoying a few drinks and some good conversation. But as the night dragged on, I noticed something about the people around us in the pub.

All these YP Ah beng wannabes were all talking about money and gambling

A lot of them seemed to be young punks and ah beng wannabes. They were dressed in flashy clothes, talking about money and gambling.

It got me to think about what had happened to many of my friends and myself who had previously lent these YP ah bengs money before when they asked for a loan as they had gambled away all of their money and needed some money to pay their debts.

These YP ah bengs often engage in all sorts of gambling activities, be it visiting the casinos, playing on online platforms or even the previous illegal dice games in Geylang.

I realised that this seemed to be quite common mostly amongst all these YP ah bengs and they were getting themselves into serious trouble by gambling and borrowing money.

More often than rather, they end up gambling away their money and then running away when they couldn’t pay back the money they had borrowed from their friends to clear the debts.

My friends and I had known people like this and helped them before, but in the end also kena run by them

My friends and I had been victims of helping these YP ah bengs before, and the amount which we had lent to individuals from these group ranged from $2,000 to $10,000.

They would always promise us that they will pay up and then start to drag on the payment deadline from time to time, and then after a while they will suddenly be uncontactable and disappear from the surface of this earth with no means for their creditors to contact them at all.

At the end of the day, we are sharing our experience that we had before with this type of YP ah beng people and it is inevitable that everyone in life will come across someone like that.

The best that you can do is steer clear away from this kind of people and don’t even take pity on them or lend them any money.

UPSTAIRS NEIGHBOUR CHANGING AIRCON UNIT, DRIP DIRTY WATER ONTO RESIDENT’S HOME

0

Facebook user Eddy Yap shared how his neighbours living above him were changing their air conditioning unit and had all the rusty water “gushing” out onto his window and aircon unit.

He said that his neighbour didn’t even apologise for causing the mess and “all he did was hide inside his unit.”

Here is what he said (SIC)

Think about it if other people did the same thing to you like what you did to othera how will you feel?? As for the stain I will make a report either to HDB or Town Council.

28 SCHOOLGIRLS SENT TO HOSPITAL AFTER PLAYING OUIJA BOARDS IN SCHOOL & FAINTING

0

28 schoolgirls in Colombia had been playing with Ouija boards in school when they apparently suffered anxiety attacks and had to be sent to hospital, according to The New York Post.

The incident happened at the Galeras Educational Institution located in Galeras, Colombia, where the girls had fainted and displayed symptoms of anxiety attacks.

The schoolgirls were sent to a municipal hospital by their parents and the school faculty members, although their diagnoses were not revealed.

It is unclear what exactly sparked the collective anxiety attacks, as some netizens pointed out that it is too much of a coincidence for all 28 girls to have anxiety attacks at the same time after playing with the Ouija board.

The girls had purportedly been trying to communicate with spirits when the incident happened.

According to The Mirror, some of the parents are of the view that their children’s conditions were caused by a lack of nutrition, rather than it being caused by the supernatural.

However, another parent refuted their claims and said that the fainting cannot be attributed to lack of food because she works in a hospital kiosk and sees about 3 or 4 children being admitted after fainting.

Used to communicate with spirits

Ouija boards have been a source of fascination and controversy for generations. These boards, which are also known as talking boards or spirit boards, are said to be a way to communicate with the dead. But where did they come from, and why do some people believe in their power?

The History of Ouija Boards

The first known talking board was invented in the mid-1800s by a man named Elijah Bond. Bond was a businessman from Baltimore who teamed up with a group of spiritualists to create a new way to communicate with the dead. Their board was made of wood and had letters and numbers printed on it, along with a planchette (a small, heart-shaped piece of wood with a hole in the center).

The idea behind the board was simple: participants would place their fingers on the planchette, and it would move around the board, spelling out messages from spirits. Bond patented the board in 1890, and it quickly became popular among spiritualists and mediums.

In 1901, a man named William Fuld took over the production of the board and renamed it the Ouija board. Fuld claimed that the name came from an ancient Egyptian word meaning “good luck,” but there is no evidence to support this claim. Regardless of its origins, the Ouija board became a cultural phenomenon in the early 20th century, and it remains popular to this day.

The Lore of Ouija Boards

Despite their popularity, Ouija boards have always been controversial. Some people believe that they are a harmless game, while others think that they can be dangerous. Here are some of the most common beliefs and legends surrounding Ouija boards:

  • They are a portal to the spirit world. Many people believe that Ouija boards can be used to communicate with the dead. According to this belief, the planchette is moved by the spirits themselves, who use it to spell out messages.
  • They can summon evil spirits. Some people believe that Ouija boards are not a way to communicate with benevolent spirits, but rather a way to summon demons and other malevolent entities. According to this belief, using a Ouija board can lead to possession or other negative outcomes.
  • They are cursed. There are numerous stories of people who have used Ouija boards and then experienced strange and terrifying events. Some people believe that these boards are cursed and should never be used under any circumstances.
  • They are a hoax. Skeptics argue that Ouija boards are simply a game, and that any messages spelled out on them are the result of unconscious movements by the participants. They point out that there is no scientific evidence to support the idea that Ouija boards can communicate with the dead.

The Verdict on Ouija Boards

So, what is the truth about Ouija boards? As with many paranormal phenomena, there is no clear answer. Some people swear by them, while others dismiss them as nothing more than a gimmick. However, there are a few things that we do know:

  • Ouija boards are not scientifically proven to be a way to communicate with the dead. While many people have reported strange and unexplainable events while using Ouija boards, there is no scientific evidence to support the idea that they can actually summon spirits.
  • Ouija boards can be dangerous. Even if they are just a game, Ouija boards can be emotionally and psychologically distressing. They can also be used to exploit vulnerable people, especially those who are grieving the loss of a loved one.
  • Ouija boards are a cultural phenomenon. Whether you believe in their power or not, there is no denying that Ouija boards have had a significant impact on popular culture.

HENRY THIA’S ILLEGAL GAMBLING AD – LABEL SAYS M’SIA COMPANY EDITED AD TO FEATURE ILLEGAL GAMBLING

0

It was previously reported that Singapore veteran comedian Henry Thia is being investigated by the Singapore Police Force for his alleged involvement in an advertisement promoting an illegal gambling platform.

Thia’s management agency King Kong Media Production, helmed by fellow artiste and comedian Mark Lee, said they were alerted to the video and that Thia is assisting the police with their investigations.

King Kong Media Production said in another statement yesterday that This was invited to shoot an advertisement in 2022 for a Malaysian live broadcasting platform.

They said that they had asked the advertising agency involved to make sure that nothing illegal would be in the ad, including illegal gambling.

The contract that they signed also stated that there would be nothing illegal in the video.

Thia then did the video shoot in Malaysia while being accompanied by staff during the filming and they saw nothing amiss during the shoot.

The advertising agency then sent Kong Kong Media Production a video of the shoot, which the latter understood to be the full video of the ad.

It was shot based on a storyboard that had been approved and based on their understanding, the video was only meant to promote the live broadcasting platform, and they gave the video the go-ahead.

However, the video ad that was posted online was different from the one that King King approved; it had been edited to include the content that promoted illegal gambling in the last 10 seconds of the video.

King Kong added that they have since engaged a lawyer in Malaysia and will be pursuing legal action against the advertising company and the live broadcasting platform.

At the time of writing, both Thia and King Kong Media Production are assisting the police with their investigations.
