MAN PUT HIS LEG ON COMMUTER AT MRT, THEN START ARGUING WITH HIM

0

A Singapore Uncensored reader shared with us about his experience on board a MRT recently where another commuter (male), crossed his leg while seated and placed his foot on his lap while doing so.

After that, the reader shook his leg, in order to get the commuter to take his leg off his lap and they got into a mini argument.

Note from the reader that the train was not crowded at the time the argument happened as it was non peak hours.

Man not happy that the reader shook his leg

The commuter was apparently not happy that the reader shook his leg, because as he shook his leg, his foot which he had placed on his lap started to bounce up and down.

He then asked the reader if he could stop shaking his leg, without having the basic common sense to take his foot off the reader’s lap.

When the reader asked him to take his foot off, he avoided the question totally and asked the reader where he studied as if he was going to complain to his school about his rude behaviour.

The commuter then gave up as the argument became a little pointless and told the reader that talking to him was a waste of breath.

The reader then turned to the commuter’s wife to tell her that she is wasting her time by marrying the commuter.

Here was how their argument went

Commuter: Eh boy, can don’t shake your leg?
Reader: Then can you don’t put your leg on my leg?
Commuter: What school you from uh?
Reader: What school I go my mum know can already.
Commuter: your mum never teach you manners uh?
Reader: your mum give birth to a f*****
Commuter: I waste my time talking to you
Reader: (Talks to dude’s wife) You waste your time marrying this guy.

SUSPICIOUS MAN FOLLOWED SCHOOLGIRL HOME & LOITERED OUTSIDE, THEN TRIES TO STEAL SHOES

0

Facebook user Shin RinRin De Silva shared how she received a notification about movement captured on her CCTV camera and caught a man loitering suspiciously outside her unit.

Here is what she said

Hi everyone, I would like to create awareness about a situation that happened to my daughter earlier in January 2023.

On the 9th of January, I received a notification on my CCTV camera of movement detected outside my unit. Initially, I ignored it because it was around the time my daughter arrived home from school.

However, I decided to check it as it kept pinging me a few more times.

From the videos, I noticed a man loitering in the corridor and from the timestamp, he appeared right behind my daughter as she entered the house.

I switched to the live feed and observed that he had been standing in the corridor for about 5 minutes.

He didn’t look like any of the same floor neighbours.

He then approached the shoe rack in an attempt to steal a pair of shoes, and through the 2-way audio function of the camera, I called out to him.

He was startled and tried to find the source of the voice, and before walking off, he dropped the shoes.

I became concerned because my daughter was alone at home and shared the videos that had been recorded to see if she knew the man.

Upon getting confirmation from her that she did not, I filed a police report, as I was not sure what his intentions were.

A couple of days later, while heading out to lunch with m daughter, we happened to take the lift and were shocked to see the man entering the lift on a lower floor.

I shielded my daughter and reported it to the IO immediately.

So if you are staying in the vicinity of Yishun Avenue 11, please be aware of your surroundings and stay safe.

This blurred video is him trying to peep into my neighbour’s unit to check if she is present.

MAN SAY SOON NO MORE CHIO BU BECAUSE DON’T NEED WEAR MASK ALREADY

0

I must say that one of the things that I have enjoyed seeing the most since the pandemic has hit is the sight of women wearing masks.

I always people watch whenever I am on the train or bus

I cannot deny that women looked quite beautiful in them because their face were mostly covered and I could only see their eyes/

Requirement going to be lifted soon, it makes me sad

Now that the requirement to wear masks is going to be lifted even on public transport, I think there would not be much chio bu left.

I feel like all the mystery has gone. Without the masks, everyone have gone back to their usual looks, and while some might still look fine, there will not be the mystery of seeing a woman in a mask again and thinking if she is as chio when she removes her mask.

So now that the requirement to wear masks has been lifted, I must admit that I am a bit sad. I had gotten used to seeing women with masks and now I feel like something is missing.

My morning and evening commutes will not be that interesting anymore.

I would definitely miss the mystery and elegance of the masks, and I would also miss the feeling of looking at a girl with her mask on thinking that she is a chio bu.

It doesn’t matter at the end of the day if she is not chio, but as someone who like to people watch, it gives me a certain ‘kick’.

So while I’m also happy that the requirement to wear masks has been lifted, I will surely miss the way women looked with them on.

KOPITIAM GOING FULLY DIGITAL AND ABOLISHING PHYSICAL CARDS, BUT DISCOUNTS ARE HERE TO STAY

0

Remember the good old times when you topped up your kopitiam card to get the 10% discount? With effect from 30 June 2023, such cards will be phased out.

CNA reports that Kopitiam, a popular food court chain, recently announced its plan to discontinue its physical stored-value card as of June 30th. This decision has caused a stir among customers, some of whom are enthusiastic about the change, while others worry about its potential impact on those who are less tech-savvy.

The switch from physical to digital loyalty cards is a response to evolving customer behavior and the increasing reliance on mobile and online solutions for daily transactions. The move will allow FairPrice and Kopitiam to simplify their loyalty program.

But why fix something that wasn’t broken?

Digital loyalty cards are a popular choice for many Singaporeans due to their convenience and accessibility through an app or website. They eliminate the need to carry a physical card, freeing up space in wallets.

Consumers are able to easily monitor their rewards and points on their digital cards, which can be a challenge with physical cards. They may also receive a more personalized experience, such as tailored product recommendations based on their buying habits.

It’s also environmentally friendly

In addition to being convenient for consumers, digital loyalty cards are also more environmentally friendly. Physical cards have a tendency to end up in landfills, whereas digital cards do not produce any physical waste.

The shift to digital loyalty programs can also result in cost savings for firms as they eliminate the expenses associated with printing and distributing physical cards. For organizations with a large user base, such as Kopitiam with over 100 hawker center and food court outlets across the island, this can be a significant cost savings.

These savings can then be reinvested into other aspects of operations. While digital loyalty programs may require maintenance or cybersecurity fees for the app or website, they also provide access to valuable customer consumption data.

I will miss my favorite blue card with the uncle holding kopi o and breakfast set C.

  • I disagree. By giving your child a smartwatch, you are rewiring his brain to depend on this smartwatch. You are stripping him of his curiosity, the most important trait any child has and needs to grow and learn more about the world we live in. Children are already glued to their iPad 24/7 and somehow people think this is okay?
  • good. make sure parental controls working ar…
  • I dont even have apple watch but my gina have? hahahah

A kind woman who was waiting for her food realised that he was short of money to pay for it and paid for the guy instead.

Here is what he said

So basically I was getting Macdonald for breakfast. I got to the counter to order but didnt check if i had enough money. I only had 7$ but the total was 9$. I was short of 2$ and didnt know who could borrow.

There was a malay auntie in black beside me waiting to collect her food. I think she saw that i was short of cash so she decided to tell the cashier to return my money. She said she was going to pay for me instead.

She told me in malay “tkpe, makcik bayar kn” meaning “its okay, auntie pay for you” i was shocked because we didnt know each other but she was kind enough to pay for me.

I thanked her but asked in malay “Tapi kenape cik bayar kan?” Meaning “but why are you helping me pay?” She said it was because she saw that i was short of money and was willing to help pay.

She said it was rezeki for both of us meaning sustenance in the Malay vocabulary is derived from the Arabic rizq, which means everything granted by Allah for one’s physical as well as spiritual needs.

I thanked her profusely and i was glad that this world still has people with kind souls…Nowadays very rare find such people…Shoutout to the kind auntie.

MAN DRANK JOLLY SHANDY BECAUSE HE NEEDED ALCOHOL FOR COURAGE TO CONFESS TO GIRL

0

My heart was pounding as I stepped up to the door. I had been rehearsing this moment for weeks, but I still couldn’t believe it was actually happening.

I had finally mustered up the courage to tell my female friend the truth about my feelings for her. I knew it was going to be hard, but I also knew it was something I had to do.

Decided to get some alcohol to boost my courage

I knew she was home, as I could see the lights on inside and the curtains were open. I had been standing there for what felt like hours, but in reality it was only a few minutes.

I was trying to build up the courage to knock, but I was having a hard time. I was starting to feel like I couldn’t go through with it.

That’s when I decided to get a drink. I knew that if I had some alcohol in my system, it would help calm my nerves and give me the courage I needed to tell her the truth.

Note that I don’t really drink because I get high easily, one can of beer is enough to knock me out.

That’s when I decided to buy a can of Jolly Shandy from the MAMA shop below.

I had never had Jolly Shandy before, but I figured it was worth a try as its alcohol content was minimal.

I quickly went to the store, grabbed a bottle and chugged down the contents.

Got high from drinking

I had just enough time to knock on the door before the minimal alcohol took full effect on me. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

She opened it, and I could see the surprise in her eyes. I started to stammer, trying to get the words out, but the alcohol was making it hard to concentrate.

Finally, I managed to get out the words. I told her that I loved her and wanted to be with her. I could see the surprise in her eyes as she stood there, processing my words.

Unfortunately, the alcohol was starting to affect me more and more. I tried to stay focused, but it was getting harder and harder.

I started to slur my words and wasn’t making any sense. She looked at me with confusion and concern. I knew I needed to leave before I made a complete fool of myself.

And so, I stumbled out of her house, feeling embarrassed and ashamed. I had finally mustered up the courage to tell her the truth, but the alcohol had taken away the moment.

Instead of being remembered as the brave person I wanted to be, I was just remembered as the drunken fool who couldn’t stay sober.

MAN WORKS FOR FRIEND WITHOUT ANY EMPLOYEE BENEFITS YET KEEPS GETTING SALARY DELAYED

0

I started working as for my best friend’s company a few months ago.

It seemed like a great opportunity when he approached me because I had just left my job and needed to get a job just to have some income while looking for another.

Was not offered any benefits

My friend offered me a basic salary of about $2,800 for my role, which was around the market rate for the role that he was offering me.

However, he did not offer me any benefits because he said that he had just started his venture and needs my help to build it up.

He promised me that in three months, I would start to have my employee benefits.

As he seemed sincere and as I saw that he really needed help because he had a manpower shortage, I agreed to help him even though there were no employee benefits offered to me.

Business built up, but my salary started to have delays.

Fast forward to a few months later when his business was starting to be better, I started to notice that my payments were getting delayed.

I would submit to him my pay claim along with the other staff he hired, and it would take weeks before I heard back from my friend.

When I did get paid, it would usually be a while later as he would say that payments from our credit card terminal company were not in yet.

The delay would get so bad that often at times, we had not much to spend because we had to use our savings to clear our bills.

Confronted him about it

I confronted my friend about the situation, but he kept making excuses.

He always brushed me off by saying that he just needed some more time. I knew something was up, but I didn’t want to push the issue too much.

A few months went by, and the situation only got worse. My payments were getting delayed more and more, and by now, I was barely getting paid anything.

I was starting to feel taken advantage of, and I was getting more and more frustrated.

Finally, I decided to confront my friend again. This time, I was more demanding. I told him that if he didn’t start paying me on time, I would quit.

He reluctantly agreed, and I thought that the situation was finally resolved.

Did not keep to his word

But then, my payment was delayed yet again almost immediately. I was furious. I had had enough. I contacted my friend and told him that if he didn’t pay me what I was owed, I would take certain action.

He became angry and blamed me for not understanding his plight that the company was out of money.

He also told me to leave the company because he could not afford to pay me.

That was the last time I ever heard from my friend and I am still waiting for my salary.

Even though I had worked hard for him, he had taken advantage of me and refused to pay me.

SCDF OFFICERS RESCUED MAN TRAPPED IN COLLAPSED BUILDING IN TURKEY EARTHQUAKE

0

The Singapore Civil Defence Force has been on the ground in Turkey following the Turkey-Syria earthquake that devastated the region and killed about 24,000 people at the time of writing.

The SCDF managed to rescue a man from a “semi-collapsed” building in 30 minutes, after receiving reports of faint calls for help from the 2nd floor of a building.

5 elite Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) team members, a paramedic and the Local Emergency Management Agency (LEMA) conducted a rescue operation to find the man and rescue him.

SCDF’s Facebook statement

[Update 5: Joint Rescue Operation at Kanlıdere Cd., Dulkadiroğlu/Kahramanmaraş, Türkiye]

Yesterday at about 8 p.m. (10 Feb, 1 a.m., Singapore time), the advance team from SCDF’s Operation Lionheart (OLH) contingent was dispatched together with the Local Emergency Management Agency (LEMA) to conduct a search and rescue operation at Kanlıdere Cd., after reports of faint calls for help were heard coming from a semi-collapse 2-storey building.

Upon arrival at the location, five elite Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) personnel and a paramedic worked closely with LEMA to conduct the search and rescue operation.

After ensuring the stability of the semi-collapsed building, LEMA and SCDF accessed the second floor through the back of the building where the faint calls were heard. SCDF used a fibre-optic scope and confirmed that a man was trapped behind a large concrete slab. LEMA then used breaking equipment to create an opening. The man was rescued within half an hour.

Throughout this operation, LEMA and SCDF were in constant contact with the trapped man. He was brought down from the building and was attended to by the locals.

PORSCHE CRASHED AND FLIPPED ON ITS SIDE @ BUGIS, DRIVER NOWHERE TO BE SEEN

0

A white Porsche SUV was found flipped over and lying on its side in the middle of the road along Bugis in the early hours of 9 February.

The driver was also purportedly missing and nowhere to be found, and videos of the flipped car made its rounds on social media.

The white-coloured luxury car, a Porsche Macan, was spotted by some passers-by who took videos of the flipped vehicle, believed to have crashed in an accident.

The car appeared to still be in good condition despite its sideways position and blinking hazard lights, but it was evident that there had been a vehicular crash based on the wreckage around the vehicle.

However, another video posted on SG Road Vigilante showed the Porsche’s front had been damaged, with the Facebook post claiming that the car had hit a temporary traffic light and concrete barrier before crashing and overturning.

The driver then abandoned the vehicle after the accident and was nowhere to be seen.

The Singapore Police Force confirmed that they were alerted to the accident on 9 February at about 3.35am, at a road junction between Beach Road and Ophir Road.

They said that a 40-year-old man is assisting with police investigations, although they stopped short of mentioning if the man was the owner of the car.

No injuries were reported from the accident.
