GIRL LOOKS DOWN ON RELATIVES BECAUSE HER ‘ANG BAO’ ONLY $2

0

My parents had always told me to respect my elders, and especially those who had helped me throughout my life.

Growing up, I was surrounded by my grandparents and aunts and uncles who were always ready to give me advice.

This past Chinese New Year, my relatives gave me a lot of hong bao or red packets with money in them.

I was so excited to get the red packets and I thought it was really generous of my relatives to give me so much money.

I expected to get the same this year.

But as I opened the red packets, I couldn’t help but feel disappointed. Most of the red packets contained only two dollars.

I felt embarrassed and angry at the same time. Even though I was grateful for the gift, I couldn’t stop the feeling of receiving only $2 in my red packet.

I had expected more from my relatives because who still has the ‘face’ to give $2 for red packet nowadays.

I was so angry and disappointed that relatives I decided to never speak to them again.

If they can be such misers then there’s no point in me looking up to them again.

From then on, I decided to never trust my relatives again. I thought that if they didn’t think I was worth more than two dollars, then why should I bother with them?

I was so angry and disappointed that I felt like I couldn’t even look them in the eye anymore.

I just want to erase them out of my life and I vow never to entertain them anymore.

EXPAT IN SPORE SHOCKED THAT NORMAL SG OFFICE WORKER EARNS ONLY $3K TO $4K

0

As an expat working in Singapore, I was shocked to discover after speaking to my fellow colleagues that the average Singaporean office worker earns a salary of within $3,000 to $4,000.

I had heard about the country’s reputation for being a wealthy nation, and I was expecting the salaries to be much higher. But the reality is far from what I expected.

I had been living in Singapore for a few months and had done some research into the salaries of the people working here. I was surprised to find out that the average officer worker Singaporean earns around $3,000 to $4,000 a month.

This is less than half of what I earn and I always thought that given the high expenses needed in this country, their salaries should be much more.

The cost of living in Singapore is extremely high and it is not easy to make ends meet on such a low salary.

During one my Grab trips from my place in Bayshore to my officer in Downtown, I found out from speaking to the Grab driver that many of them had the necessary qualifications to get a job in the office.

However, they instead chose to drive Grab either full time or as a side line and choose to be their own bosses so that they can earn more than what the average office worker earns just to make ends meet.

Hearing this, I finally understood the plight many people which I have met during my time here are going through.

Even I myself, earning much more than an average Singaporean, has trouble sometimes trying to keep up with the monthly expenses incurred over here by my family and myself.

MAN GOT CRUSH ON GF’S MUM, CHEATS ON GF WITH HER MUM’S LOOKALIKE

0

I never thought that I would be the type of person to cheat on my girlfriend, but here I am. It all began when I first met my girlfriend’s mum.

From the moment I saw her, I felt an inexplicable attraction to her. She was older and far more sophisticated than any of the women I had ever been with before, and I couldn’t help but be drawn to her.

At first, I was able to resist my urges, but as time went on, I found myself thinking about her more and more. I started to fantasize about being with her and every time I saw her, my heart would flutter. I knew I was wrong for feeling this way, but I just couldn’t help it.

Eventually, I decided to act on my feelings and started to search for someone who looked like her. I eventually found someone who was a dead ringer for my girlfriend’s mum and began to pursue a relationship with her.

I was careful to keep it hidden from my girlfriend and snuck around behind her back to spend time with her.

At first, it was exciting and thrilling to be able to be with someone who looked like my girlfriend’s mum. I felt like I was getting away with something and it made me feel powerful.

We would often meet in secret places and the thrill of knowing that I was cheating on my girlfriend made the experience even more intense.

But, as time went on, I realized that I was wrong for cheating on my girlfriend and that I was only hurting her. I knew that if I continued on this path, it would eventually lead to her discovering my infidelity and that would be the end of our relationship.

In the end, I made the decision to end things with the woman who looked like my girlfriend’s mum and stop cheating on my girlfriend.

It wasn’t easy, but it was necessary in order to save our relationship and protect my girlfriend from the pain that she would have felt if she ever found out about it.

Looking back, I regret ever having those feelings for my girlfriend’s mum. I know now that I should have kept those feelings to myself and not acted on them.

I hope that I have learned from my mistake and will never make the same mistake again.

MAN TRIES TO FAKE ACCIDENT TO GET INSURANCE CLAIMS

Insurance scams through fake accidents have become increasingly common over the past few years.

While some individuals may think these scams are harmless, the truth is that they can be very dangerous and even illegal.

Man tries to fake accident

Recently, a man was caught on video attempting to scam an insurance company after staging a fake accident.

The man was seen on camera acting like the taxi has hit his leg despite the vehicle moving at a low speed. The driver of the vehicle, who was unaware of the man’s intentions, came to a stop and the man quickly act injured on the side of the road.

The video can be seen here:

Insurance companies and law enforcement are both working to combat these types of fraud. Insurance companies are increasingly using technology to identify suspicious and fraudulent claims. They are also using advanced analytics to spot claims that don’t match their normal patterns. This helps them to more quickly identify potential fraud and stop it from happening.

In addition to insurance companies and law enforcement, there are also measures that individuals can take to prevent themselves from falling victim to an insurance scam. For example, if you are in an accident, take photos of the scene and the damage to both vehicles and make sure that you have a written description of the incident. It is also important to never give a statement to an insurance adjuster until you have spoken to an attorney first.

Finally, if you are involved in an accident, you should always call the police and report the incident. This will help to ensure that proper documentation is taken and that any potential fraud is identified and investigated.

53 Y.O MAN WHO TOOK DOWN PSP’S GE2020 CAMPAIGN POSTER, IDENTIFIED THROUGH FINGERPRINTS

0

53-year-old Singaporean, Constantine paul, was fined $1,000 on 31 January for taking down Progress Singapore Party (PSP)’s campaign poster during the 2020 General Election more than two years ago.

He had pleaded guilty to one charge under the Parliamentary Elections Act, with three other charges being considered during his sentencing.

According to Channel NewsAsia, Paul will be serving 4 days imprisonment in lieu of the fine as he is unable to pay it.

Paul committed the offence on 30 June 2020; he was cycling along Bukit Batok East Avenue 5 at about 7.56pm when he saw two election campaign posters – one of the People’s Action Party (PAP) and one of the PSP.

He took down and damaged the PSP poster, before throwing it onto the ground and leaving the scene.

The next day (1 July 2020), a patrolling police officer saw the damaged poster, and investigations then revealed that there were two damaged posters in the vicinity that were near each other.

The posters went then sent for forensic examination and the authorities lifted 7 latent fingerprints from the posters that matched Paul’s fingerprints.

He was identified and traced, before being arrested later that day.

Paul’s lawyer argued in court and said that her client’s offence was not politically motivated and that he had a “spontaneous fit of anger” after seeing another person hurling vulgarities while pointing at the PAP poster.

His lawyer agreed with the prosecution’s request for a $1,000 fine but requested for a 4-day jail term in lieu as her client couldn’t pay the fine.

CNA also added that Paul has been receiving financial help from the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF).

UK YOUTUBERS SAY S’PORE IS SAFE – “NO ONE WILL ROB YOU, BUT NO ONE WILL HELP TOO”

0

British YouTubers Miniminter and Vikkstar123 from the YouTube group Sidemen, and Randolph, were having a conversation on the What’s Good podcast when they brought up the safety of Singapore.

They referenced a TikTok video posted by US TikToker Uptin Saiidi, who left his laptop unattended at a Starbucks outlet in Singapore before returning later in the day to find it still there, perfectly safe and sound.

The group talked about safe countries and Randolph asked “Singapore, is that the place that’s really safe?” as he cited Saiidi’s TikTok video.

Vikkstar then shared his experience from a previous visit to Singapore, saying that Singapore felt “really safe” to him.

he shared how he saw a drunk man passed out outside a club with his phone in his hand for hours, and nobody robbed him or stole his phone.

Miniminter then laughed at the incident, pointing out how nobody had robbed the man but at the same time, nobody helped him as well.

Video that they were talking about

A content creator from the US, Uptin Saiidi, did an experiment to test how safe Singapore was, by leaving his laptop unattended at a Starbucks outlet for one hour.

The multimedia journalist from CNBC who has 660,000 followers on TikTok and 100,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel, shared his experiment on TikTok on 24 October.

He was seen in the video leaving his laptop at a random Starbucks outlet without “telling anyone to watch it”, before leaving to grab lunch elsewhere.

He then shared some tidbits about Singapore’s crime rates, saying that we went 250 days in a row without common crime last year.

Uptin then cited how honesty and fairness are a big part of Singapore’s culture, and that because “basic needs are met,” people don’t resort to crime.

He also added that “you will never see a homeless person here”.

he then added that another reason for the low crime rate in Singapore is surveillance, as there are cameras everywhere protecting against crimes, and cited the “crazy high” consequences for stealing.

In the later part of the video, he returned to the Starbucks outlet where he left his laptop an hour ago; lo and behold, his laptop was still sitting there, untouched.

MAN SAYS ITS EASY TO RETIRE WITH CPF AS LONG YOU EARN $6,000 A MONTH + 5 MONTHS BONUS

0

as a young university graduate employee you may find yourself worried about retirement.

retirement is nothing to worry about. all Singapore citizens and PR have this amazing pension plan called the CPF life.

the trick to cpf hacking to meet “enhanced retirement sum” and “basic healthcare sum” is inaction.

yes simply do nothing to your MA and SA.

all you need to do is to earn a high income by age 30.

ie. get a minimum of 6K monthly pay and total bonus of 5mths additional wages. ie 102,000 of your income must attract CPF.

at this income, you will find yourself meeting basic healthcare sum easily. and the excess will be transferred to SA regularly. if you continue to attract 102,000 annual income, you will get enhanced retirement sum from just your SA alone, and from the automatic MA transfers to SA.

just use your OA liberally for housing, and enjoy your quality of life. because your (SA+MA) will be able to hit (ERS+BHS) at age 55 anyway. you will get an annuity of 5k per month at age 65.

TLDR: use the skills given by NUS to find a 6k/mth job with 5 months bonus per year & work for 30 years from age 25-55.

Here are what netizens think:

  • Somewhat unpopular opinion here but I’m a huge fan of cpf. This is especially true when I went for a back surgery years ago. Long story short after deductions i only had to pay a lot less than the actual sum.
  • As for cpf life if we really wanna calculate to the grave then we just need to make sure we hit the sum to be enrolled in the program and live long enough because we’re basically paid a sum of money even when our own cpf dries up.
  • Welcome to reality show, you will realise, dreams and reality aren’t the same..Read your post 10 years down the road, then do a survey among your peers, which milestones and what difficulties you will face at age 30, 40 and 50s…
  • Knn, mai gwgb lah. U talk like easy especially the 5 mths bonus

GUY SUE WOMAN FOR $3 MILLION BECAUSE HE ‘AFFECTED’ BY HER REJECTION

0

According to a Straits Times article, a guy who was so ‘affected’ by a woman’s rejection had initially wanted to sue her for $3 million in damages on the grounds of ’emotional damage’.

This was after she ‘friend zoned’ him.

The man, known as Mr K. Kawshigan, did not proceed to sue the woman initially, as Ms Nora Tan heeded to terms of partaking his counselling.

However, after almost a year and a half of his ‘counselling sessions’, he could not accept the fact that Tan did not want to see him.

She soon cut off contact with him and he proceeded to file two lawsuits against her.

Here are the two lawsuits filed

The two lawsuits filed against Tan were:

  • A claim in the High Court worth $3 million for the grounds of tarnishing his reputation as well as negatively impacting his life.
  • A claim at the magistrate’s court for $22,000 because he believed that Tan did not hold to an agreement to let their relationship become better.

$22,000 claim rejected by State courts

The claim made by Kawshigan was rejected in January on grounds of being groundless and foundationless.

The High court claim of $3 million would be heard on 9 February 2023.
