MAN GOES GEYLANG SAYS ‘CHICKEN’ TOO EXPENSIVE & ASKED FOR A ‘STUDENT DISCOUNT’

0

I was always curious about Geylang, the infamous red light district in Singapore.

I heard stories about it, that it was a dangerous place with all sorts of shady characters and activities.

But, I was determined to experience it for myself, so I decided to go to Geylang for a night to try.

When I arrived in Geylang, I was in awe. There were so many different kinds of stores, ranging from food stalls to massage parlours and the infamous fish tanks.

There were also lots of people walking around, from young adults to older folks. I felt a bit uncomfortable at first, but I was determined to explore.

As I started walking around, I noticed that the prices of the ‘fish tanks’ seemed quite high. I was surprised at how expensive things were, especially for a red-light district. I asked the vendors why their prices were so high, but they all just shrugged and said that they didn’t know.

At this point, I was getting a bit frustrated. I wasn’t used to such high prices and I didn’t have enough money to buy anything. So, I decided to try something daring: I asked the ‘chicken head’ if they could give me a student discount.

I was expecting the vendors to laugh at me or reject my request, but surprisingly, they obliged. They said that they understood the financial struggles of students and they were willing to give me a discount. I was so relieved and happy that I thanked them profusely.

After that, I decided to take advantage of the student discount and told the uncle I will be back.

Overall, my experience in Geylang was an eye-opening one. I was a bit scared at first, but I was glad that I went. I also learned that it never hurts to ask for a student discount. You never know if the vendors will oblige, so it never hurts to give it a try.

39 Y.O BUS DRIVER ADMITS TO CAUSING ACCIDENT BETWEEN BUSES THAT SAW 2 PAX INJURED

0

39-year-old Malaysian SBS Transit bus driver Mah Jin Heng, pleaded guilty on 6 December to one count of negligent act endangering human life.

He was fined $2,500 and banned for a year from driving.

He had failed to keep a proper lookout and collided with another bus, with the driver of the second bus losing control of his vehicle and stepping on the accelerator, resulting in a collision with a third bus.

A passenger from the second bus and another passenger from the third bus were injured.

What happened?

The incident happened on 27 November last year at about 10.05 pm, Mah was reversing his bus (service number 88) out of the berth at Pasir Ris Bus Interchange.

At the same time, bus 17 was driving behind bus 88 perpendicularly, and from Mah’s point of view, he saw bus 17 approaching his bus from behind on the left.

The third bus (bus 5) was not moving and stationary on the right side of Mah’s bus 88 and waiting for him to finish reversing.

Mah checked his rear but didn’t notice any vehicle on his left before reversing, as he focused on the right side of his bus, failing to keep a proper lookout for oncoming vehicles on his left.

Bus 17 thought that 88 would stop because bus 17 had the right of way, and proceeded to drive up behind bus 88, but Mah didn’t notice bus 17 on his left and collided with it.

Bus 17 then lost control and the driver then stepped on the accelerator, driving forward and colliding with bus 5 from behind.

A 57-year-old woman on bus 17, who was seated on the lower deck, fell onto the floor when the bus collided with bus 5.

The window beside her seat shattered and some pieces of the class were stuck inside her feet, and she later sought medical attention from a private clinic.

Another 22-year-old man from bus 5, who was standing on the upper deck, fell down during the crash and injured his back and wrist.

WOMAN STOPS TAKING BIRTH CONTROL AND HER WEIGHT SPIRALS OUT OF CONTROL

0

I was always around 60kg in poly. I was also on birth control and spironolactone for PCOS.

I stopped taking both pills in March 2021 and by May 2021 I had gained about seven kilograms. It is now December of 2022 and I’m up 23 kilograms and now weighing over 90kg!!!

I’m honestly just so lost on what to do. My doctors have tested me for thyroid and other problems and they say everything looks normal. They just recommend I diet and go to the gym (of course, I don’t think they recommend anything else LOL) but I was never a diet or gym person.

I didn’t play sports in school, never went to the gym, and def didn’t diet and I never gained weight. I started taking birth control again sometime in 2021 and didn’t see any big changes. I just started the spironolactone again but I’m still not seeing a steadying in my weight.

I looked up the side effects of quitting spironolactone and a lot of other women have had the same experience (gaining extreme amounts of weight).

But how do I fix this???

I don’t eat salads every day but I don’t eat out often or eat very unhealthy meals at home, so doctors telling me to diet confuses me. And I’m a uni student so I walk to class (about 1km there and back) everyday. I could maybe walk around a little more, but I feel like that won’t help.

Sorry this is so long but I just want to explain the full story.

Hopefully someone can help! I’m to the point of having breakdowns every time I look into the mirror because no matter what I try, the weight is still coming on. I wouldn’t be as upset if I stopped gaining weight, but it’s like I gain 2-3 kilograms every month STILL. please help your girl out.

A fire took place earlier today and a firefighter who was trying to put a stop to the fire became unconscious.

He was send to Singapore General Hospital and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Shorlty after the update of the NSF firefighter’s death, Singapore Civil Defence Force updated their Facebook page logo to a black and white version.

GUY & COUSIN ‘PIAK’ ALREADY FEEL GUILTY, BUT DON’T WANT TO STOP

0

This happened about a few weeks ago but I have to get this off my chest. At a family gathering this year, I had ‘relations’ in bed with my cousin.

My cousin is considered a distant cousin, is a year younger than me, pretty and hot.

It all happened so fast. We have been flirting and teasing each other since our families became closer and it was hard to resist the temptation, which was stupid in hindsight. We got really carried away one evening while everyone else was watching football and before we knew it, it had happened.

Needless to say, it wasn’t the smartest thing I’ve ever done and I’m still trying to figure out what to do next. It’s complicated because our families have became so close and it could create a lot of drama if anyone found out.

So for now, all I can do is keep what happened between us a secret and try to move on.

To be honest, I really enjoyed having ‘relations’ with her.

She was really wild and willing to try and experiment a lot of new things.

However, even though I do not regret it and really want to do it again, I also want to acknowledge that what I did was wrong on moral and social grounds.

But it seems like I am developing a genuine interest for her, and she also wants to continue this messed up relationship with me.

We know our families will never approve of it so we have no choice.

GUY CUT HIS BOSS OFF DURING MEETING, BOSS INDIRECTLY PUNISHES HIM

0

I was in a meeting with my boss and several other colleagues when we were discussing a new project. My boss was explaining his ideas and I thought I had a better solution. So, I interrupted him and suggested my idea.

My boss didn’t like my idea and explained why it wouldn’t work. I didn’t agree with his reasoning and I said, “I don’t think you understand the concept.”

I realised immediately that I had insulted my boss’s intelligence in front of everyone and I tried to backtrack and apologize, but it was too late. The damage was done.

I spent the rest of the day feeling embarrassed and ashamed. My boss didn’t say anything to me about it, but I could tell he was upset. I apologised to him again in private and offered to do whatever it takes to make it up to him.

The next day, I came into work to find that my boss had rearranged the seating arrangements and I was now sitting in the back of the office, far away from him and the other team members. I knew this was his way of punishing me and I felt even worse.

I spent the next few weeks trying to redeem myself and prove to my boss that I am a valuable member of the team. I worked late and took on extra projects. But, it seemed like no matter what I did, my boss was still cold and distant towards me.

Eventually, I had to have a difficult conversation with my boss and explain my actions and apologise again. It was a humbling experience and I learned my lesson. I will never again underestimate my boss’s intelligence or disrespect him in front of others.

I’m sharing this story as a cautionary tale to remind others to always be respectful and mindful of their words and actions in the workplace. It’s not worth risking your professional relationships and reputation over a moment of ego or arrogance.

OLDER GUY ACCIDENTALLY CALLED HIS YOUNGER BOSS ‘MUM’ IN MEETING

0

So today I (35m) was in a meeting with my boss (27f) and a few other colleagues discussing a new project we were working on. We were going over some details and my boss was explaining something to me when I accidentally called her “mum.”

I immediately realized my mistake and apologised profusely, but the damage was done. My colleagues couldn’t stop laughing and my boss just looked at me with a mix of amusement and disbelief.

To make matters worse, I found out later that the entire meeting was recorded and shared with the rest of the company, about 200 people).

I’m now known as the guy who called his boss “mum” in a meeting.

After that while we were having lunch, my boss even disturbed me and told me to go and chope a seat while ‘mummy’ buy for you what you want to eat.

Throughout the whole day, my colleagues will come up to me and ask me ‘where’s your mummy’.

Just thought of sharing the story.

Lesson learned: always pay attention to who you’re talking to in meetings and never, ever call your boss “mum.”

BF CAUGHT GF APPLYING PEANUT BUTTER TO HER “DOWNSTAIRS” SO HER DOG WILL LICK

0

My girlfriend’s family always orders their groceries online and would have it delivered to their home.

In every of their orders, there will definitely be 2-3 jars of Peanut butter as her whole family loves to eat peanut butter with bread.

Even their pet dog loves Peanut butter.

Recently, my girlfriend has been bulk purchasing peanut butter on the side from a supplier.

Every week, the supplier will come at least once and will send at least 10 jars of peanut butter.

Out of curiosity, I asked her why did she need to order peanut butter from the supplier and she claimed that her family has recently been consuming more peanut butter bread and they also give out peanut butter to the needy.

However, i soon found out that it was a lie.

One day, I saw her with her pet dog in her room on bed with a peanut butter jar.

I initially thought she was just feeding the peanut butter to her pet dog as usual but I found out that the method she used to feed her dog peanut butter was a little ‘special’.

With my own eyes, I saw her applying the peanut butter to her ‘downstairs’ layer after layer.

Her pet dog then walked over and licked off layer after layer.

I was caught by surprise and did not know what to do and then I suddenly thought back that sometimes when I wash my ‘brother’ i smell remnants of peanut butter.

Now I know the source of the peanut butter smell.

SCAMMERS USE GOOGLE FORMS & POLICE LOGO TO TRICK VICTIMS INTO KEYING CREDIT CARD INFO

0

The Singapore Police Force said that there is a new type of phishing scam which sends an email to the potential victim that contains a link to Google Forms with the logo of the Police.

The Police published an advisory warning people who received the email to wary of this scam variant.

How does the scam work?

The potential person will first receive an email stating that they are able to redeem a gift voucher.

When a person clicks on the embedded URL, they will be taken to a webpage where they are asked to enter their credit or debit card information, security code, and one-time password.

After entering the information, the victim will be contacted by the scammers who posed as “bank staff” and lead the victim further into the scam.

The scammer will tell the victim that a “fraudulent” transaction took place.

Victims would receive phone calls from callers impersonating bank staff. The caller would tell the victims that their bank cards may have been compromised and would request for the victims’ bank account information to enable them to resolve the matter. After the victims provided their bank account numbers, they would receive One-Time Passwords (OTPs) on their mobile phones. The caller would then ask the victims for the OTPs.

Beware

Members of the public are advised to follow these crime prevention measures:

  • Bank officers will never ask for your banking details and OTP over the phone or via SMS;
  • Always verify the authenticity of claims of problems with your bank account or cards issued by the bank with the official bank website or sources;
  • Never disclose your personal or Internet banking details and OTP to anyone; and
  • Report any fraudulent transactions to your bank immediately.

If you have any information relating to such crimes, please call the Police Hotline at 1800-255-0000, or submit it online at www.police.gov.sg/iwitness.  If you require urgent Police assistance, please dial ‘999’.
