Retailers are strongly urged to take precautions to prevent shop theft and reduce losses by adopting the following measures:

  1. Employ sufficient staff to keep an eye on the merchandise, especially during peak periods so that no part of the store is left unattended;
  2. Adopt a service approach towards loss prevention. Staff should engage suspicious persons in the shop to engage them proactively to provide more personalised attention. This would likely deter would-be thieves, while genuine shoppers would appreciate the good service;
  3. Be alert to customers who ask excessive and irrelevant questions. This could be a distraction to divert the attention of staff while other accomplices commit a theft;
  4. Install CCTV cameras at the entrance/exit of the store to capture the facial features of shoppers. Do ensure that the cameras are regularly serviced and in good working condition;
  5. Display expensive items in locked showcases;
  6. Install convex mirrors to cover blind corners; and
  7. Install an Electronic Article Surveillance System and adopt “double tagging” for high value merchandises (i.e. use both overt and covert tags).

COUPLE WENT MOVIE WITH FEMALE FRIEND, CAUGHT HER SNUGGLING WITH BOYFRIEND INSIDE

0

My (18 F) BF’s (17 M) Girl best friend was snuggling him (19 F) during a movie

We all went to go watch a movie together and after the movie ended his friend has fallen asleep on his shoulder with her hands wrapped around his arm.

She woke up and was like “oh shit sorry, I didn’t realize I fell asleep” Which I have a hard time believing.

all he said was “no worries zoe, it’s all good haha”

He didn’t even try to wake her up , just let her fall asleep.

Is this a red flag ?

Netizens’ comments

  • Maybe not red, but probably at least yellow. Just keep an eye on it, and maybe have a discussion with him about what your boundaries are in a relationship. If he reacts poorly that would probably be your red flag.
  • I think it’s a yellow flag, but depending on if there has been other behavior it could be a red flag.
    She might like him or be jealous of the relationship you have with him. He might like the idea of you being jealous. If I give him the benefit of the doubt it would be a really awkward position to be in, and you guys are all pretty young. He might not know how to handle that kind of stuff.
  • Yeah that’s weird. You don’t wrap your arm around a friend. Also, my boyfriend (30M) told me (35F) the only girl friends he has are the ones he wants to have sex with which is why he has zero girl friends. He says guys can’t just be friends with a girl.. it’s also my personal experience that literally all my guy friends tried to get with me at some point or another. So I agree with my boyfriend.

GIRL “HATES” OVERWEIGHT PEOPLE, SICK OF MATCHING WITH FAT GUYS ON DATING APP

0

I hate overweight people so much and I don’t want to be around them anymore.

I might sound very mean but I do not want to hang with any fat people no more. I do not want to be around any overweight guys or bears. I get eaten on the inside every time I create a profile on the dating app and it’s always the 40+ men or the very obese guys who text me. I am tired of seeing anyone other than overweight hairy (and/or older) men as a social premium package to unlock.

Every time I see a morbidly obese person in public my body can’t help but wants to vomit. I get the shivers when I see large portions of food, candies or whatever junk fats keep on eating. I hate all this body positivity that advocates their unhealthy lifestyle. The whole thing disgusts me to death. I am tired of being pushed to the whole fatty clan, despite me trying to escape it.

It’s totally fine for everyone else to say no fats, no this no that, but when I say out loud I am seen as mean, I am an incel, and I don’t deserve anyone to hang out with because “I’m shallow”. Isn’t it ironic that those people cherry-pick those who they hang out with? And when I call someone on this hypocrisy they’re like “oh but I hang out with all kinds of people?”.

And before you come and start jabbing on why I don’t lose weight since I don’t want to attract that target audience and start lecturing me on how easy actually it is to lose weight and and start calling me lazy and compare me to other people who run 4 jobs, a family, having a missing arm or a leg managed to lose 80 pounds, I have difficulties and I have been trying years to lose weight but I get back to my bs. It feels very difficult to change me and I am also broke, which maybe is not an excuse for many I guess. I walk as much as I can instead of using public transport.

Some of y’all will say, hey fatty, why don’t you go date other fats like you? Cause they play me the same way the rest does; I am replaceable unless I condition the ideal community standards to the fullest, then everyone thinks I owe them attention or smth.

PARENTS REFUSE PAY DAUGHTER’S POLY SCHOOL FEES BECAUSE SHE’S WORKING PART TIME

Help with parents refusal to pay school fees

I have a friend, whose parents refuse to pay for her poly sch fees, as they state she is working. But even as she works part time, she struggles to afford the sch fees, having to borrow money if she is unable to.

Is there anyway to help? (FAS doesn’t apply as her parents earn more than that)

Netizens’ comments

  • Go talk to the school and see what options they have.
  • Your friend is local? Her PSEA should be able to cover some semester. I assume she’s under 21?
    Anyway your friend should speak to her mentor to explore options.
    If nth works out, can consider going to a nearby FSC/SSO and tell them the situation. I’m not a lawyer but my understanding of Women’s Charter Act S68 and S69 5(c), her parents are still required to provide for her if she is unable to make ends meet while in education.
  • That’s what happen to me too, although is my parents that is unable to sponsor me with poly sch fees as they are poor. I went for a bank loan with DBS and asked my older sis to be my guarantor, although u’re consider in debt but u wont be struggling to pay sch fees every 6mths. I worked part time every weekend and holiday to give myself allowance for food/transport.

MAN DUMPED BROKE GF & MOVES OUT, NOW SHE HAS 30 DAYS TO FIND A JOB & NEW HOME

0

BF broke up with me. Now I have less than 30 days to find a job and a new place to live.

I’m in my 30s, but I never went to uni due to financial reasons. During the pandemic, my job/industry was making me really miserable. After a hospitalization, I decided that I was going back to school.

I had a good amount of savings, budgeted accordingly, and paid my rent/bills but lived very frugally. I’d pick up gigs here and there to make some extra cash on the side.

I have one more semester left, and last week, my boyfriend announced that he’s done with the relationship. He’s sick of dating someone who is broke all the time.

He also already found an apartment, signed the papers, and got the key. He’s going to start moving stuff out this weekend.

So not only am I’m reeling from the heartbreak, I don’t have a job either. I’m in a massive panic knowing that I now have to find a job and a new apartment.

My boyfriend was going to leave me to deal me to with the current apartment on my own, but I cannot pay for the full rent, so I begged him to pay his share for one more month’s rent to give me time to find other options.

I have till Decemenber until time runs out. Wish me luck everyone.

PARENTS GIVE 16 Y.O DAUGHTER CURFEW, BUT LETS HER GO DRINKING & CLUBBING

0

Curfew for 16yo? Our kid has finished O-Levels.

She is complaining about her curfew. It’s 11pm, and midnight on occasion.

Does this seem unreasonable? Apparently we are tyrant parents, who make her come home so early. She says all her friends have no curfew, which I find hard to believe.

To me nothing but trouble is waiting after midnight for a teenage girl..

Edit She mostly wants to stay out later so she can listen to live music, and drink. She often goes to bars and clubs. We don’t stop her from drinking, but I know stupid decisions come after drinking.

Netizens’ comments

  • How does she come home? Personally I never got a curfew, but even then would naturally come home around midnight latest because my cheapo self refused to miss the last train.
  • Explain to the kid why you choose that timing, allow them to hang out with their friends pass that timing if they were to inform you beforehand. This is to build trust between the both of you. Otherwise, they will just hide stuff from you in the future which will be worst
  • My parents were strict on curfew and I fully hated it. At 16 it was 7pm. Only during JC it went to around 11+/midnight but that’s because I was out studying (more productive than studying at home). I hated the early curfew. I couldn’t even stay till 8pm to study outside. I was even in the area of my house. Studying. Please don’t make curfew the cause of tension between you and your kid. In my opinion as long as your kid updates you throughout, and replies to your texts promptly, without lying, it’s fine. Equip them with the good sense to not do stupid things.

MARRIED WOMAN LIKES TO SHOW OFF TO SINGLE FRIEND, “LOOK WHAT MY HUSBAND BOUGHT ME!”

0

How do I deal with a friend who feels the need to brag every chance she gets?

I have a friend whom I’ve known for over 15 years. We recently connected, and I love talking to her it’s just she has this thing where she’s constantly bragging about her life.

I’m not trying to think badly about her, but it seems she’s competing with me.

I’ve told her many times that I’m happy for her, and I am! but that doesn’t seem to be enough.

She’s married with 2 kids, and I’m her only single friend. She’s always sending me pictures of things her husband buys her, or if he does something nice for her.

Which I am ok with, but when the conversations are 90 percent that I start to wonder.

I’m in no way jealous of her, but I’m starting to feel she wants me to be, so badly. It’s to the point where I’m too annoyed to have a conversation now.

I want to be her friend still because she isn’t a bad person, but this is really getting out of hand. Any advice?
