FRESH GRAD GOT A JOB THAT GET PAID TO DO NOTHING, BUT STILL COMPLAIN

0

So I’ve graduated this year and started working in July.

My company is just not giving me any work. It’s been 3 months now and seems like ppl in my team have a project or sth to work but I just sit at desk literally doing nothing.

I ask my colleagues if I can help out for their work but that’s it. There’s no proper work given to me.

Also idk why but I’m not involved in so many meetings and discussions like wtf is going on?

Is anyone else going through this?”

Here are what netizens think:

  • R u the son of one of the directors? Where they don’t dare to take u
  • Since no work assigned to you, when you in the office can sweep and mop the floors and wash the toilets. Surely they’ll be impressed by your hard work
  • I know of friends who joined their companies, end up sitting around for months with no work given
  • In the end they moved on to other companies.
  • When you have worked for a few years you will beg to have back this job. I mean you could literally get 2-3 jobs worth of salary and just do 1 job. Share company leh
  • game over. probation sure cannot pass. it is a set up

MAN’S FAMILY HAPPY HE HAS CANCER, THOUGHT THEY GONNA BE RICH FROM HIS WILL

0

My family seemed disappointed I beat my illness. My little nephew confirmed my suspicions
I (m47) was diagnosed with cancer about 6 months ago. I don’t know what happened but I was misdiagnosed. It wasn’t malignant as the initial diagnosis. Anyway I’m recovering. I don’t know why but if felt like mum (f73) and sister (f35) weren’t all glad about me recovering. I didn’t make a fuss but I told my gf(f38) about my observation. She told me not to worry and that they were probably still in shock.

We were invited to my mums house last Sunday and that’s when my nephew (m12) was a bit angry and blurted out something about him thinking he was gonna be rich soon because I was sick. It felt like a gut punch. I’m child free so I don’t really know when people start being a-holes. But it felt like he’s still too young for that so the next explanation is that he’s heard the adults around him?

I laughed and looked at my family. They pretended that they didn’t hear. Only my gf watched me in horror. I asked my nephew why he would think he would get rich when I have my gf. He was confused. I saw my sister turn around at that announcement. My gf spent the rest on the evening holding my hand creasing it.

Mum called the day after and she was dancing around the subject. Trying to find out more. I never discussed my will with anyone but what were they expecting? I’ve been with my gf for 13 years. She’s the love of my life and my family. WTF is going on?

I’m changing my will, excluding my nephews who I thought I would leave some for. It’s going to charity instead.

HUSBAND TREATS PARENTING LIKE A COMPETITION, TELLS WIFE “I’M 100% BETTER THAN YOU”

0

I need to ask.

So my husband insists that if he does somethg, it is always much better than me and i dont do a good job even though im super hands on and give my all.

Example he always say IF he looks after my daughter it will be 100% better than me.

My arguement is that how can he say that when he totally doesnt do anything? Midnight feeds i do, change diaper i do, feeding and playing helper do if im working.

Most of the time he does is on his phone. Maybe once in 2mths he will wake up to make milk. Lol.

But he still insists that is not the point, because the point is IF HE DOES IT it will be better than me.

Example he says is like if he look after my daughter she will never fall down. But he is with her only 10% of the day. Remaining 90% is either me or helper.

How do i get it across his thick skull that in order to actually debate over something like this, the most basic thing he needs to do is actually DO IT RATHER THAN KEEP ON SAYING HE IS BETTER?

We keep arguing over this non stop because he just keeps saying how good he is IF HE DOES IT.

How to stop this debate and make him understand he is wrong? Or am i wrong?

Helpppppppp

58 Y.O MAN MADE SON ABANDON PET CAT AT VOID DECK BEFORE MOVING TO NEW HOME, FINED

0

58-year-old Chin Koh Sing, was fined $2,000 on 4 October and banned from owning any pets for 12 months, after telling his son to abandon their vat at a void deck before their family’s move to their new home.

The grey tabby cat, named Felix, was adopted by Chin’s daughter in 2018; and the family was preparing to move to their new home, according to TODAY.

Chin didn’t want to bring the cat to their new home and decided that his family would not be able to care for the cat, he then told his son to find the cat a new home.

However, his son still couldn’t find another owner to adopt the cat on the day of the move, and Chin then told him to release the cat at the void deck of Block 137 Lorong Ah Soo.

A passer-by then caught the son in the act and informed NParks about the incident.

During his mitigation in court, Chin defended himself and said that his daughter was having struggles mentally and had tried to take her own life.

He added that his son then started taking care of her cat for her but was unable to commit to caring for it fully because he worked late.

He admitted to his offences and said that he didn’t know how to care for a cat, but added that he knew he shouldn’t have told his son to abandon the pet.

WOMAN WANTS MAINTENANCE FEE AFTER EX-HUSBAND REAPPEARS AFTER 10 YEARS

0

Ex husband came back after years still living happily.

ex-husband Singaporean Chinese

Myself Singaporean Chinese

Since my 2nd girl was born 10 years ago and we had a divorce as he had a mistress outside. Thereafter he never give a cent to the family and went mia for years. Uncontactable even his parent can’t contact him.

I have to raise the 2 kids all by myself with some help from his parent.

Now he was back to visit his parent and sometime will bring the kids out. Knowing that he drove a bmw and had a pretty gf and had an adorable dog now. So I requested maintenance like $300-$500 for both the kids, he agreed. After 3 months, he stopped giving. He will give a kind of excuses and went mia again.

What should I do?

I only have his hp number but not address. I only know he stayed with his gf. If I apply for legal action, letter will go to his parent address, I do not want to bother them as they had contributed enough. All the driving fines he got all send to his parent address, and they will just pay for him. I seem no way to do anything.

How should I go about taking action toward him?

Here are what netizens think:

  • $300-$500 for someone who drives a BMW? U are too kind. The man should take responsibility and bear the consequnces for his actions, for the marriage, for you and for the children for the rest of his life. So YES u should pursue the matter and seek advise from relevant authorities.
  • As per your mentioned; “Since my 2nd girl was born 10 years ago and we had a divorce…”, that means it has been 10 years after the divorce, without any contact, without any finacial support from him. So if it was for me, I will just let it slide. No point. Moreover, if he is driving a BMW, and he also can MIA and stopped giving after a few months, don’t waste time with this ex-husband of yours, unless you got lots of time, energy & money to file a lawsuit to go after his neck. On a sidenote, I won’t ask only $300-$500 from him if I know he is driving a BMW now. I would have asked for $1000-$1500. So if now $300-$500 also he can’t commit to it, then just move on… continue to do what you’ve been doing without him in your life. Take care. And all the best.
  • Hi sis, just let him be. You have done a fantastic job of raising the kids single handedly. No need for him to be in the picture now. Keep doing your thing and dun expect anything from him. Whatever and whenever he give its a bonus. Yes if u want to ask him to provide than file a petition with family Court. He will be asked to appear. After all he is the father to the children. But the process can be emotionally and mentally draining. See if u need that kind of stress now. Just my 2 cents worth.

NEWTON FOOD CENTRE CLOSING FOR 3 MONTHS, FROM 1 NOVEMBER TO 31 JANUARY

0

Newton Food Centre will be closed for three months from 1 November onwards, for renovations works, before reopening next year on 31 January.

This effectively means the hawker centre will be closed throughout the holiday period through the end of the year.

The National Environment Agency (NEA) mentioned on their website that the hawker centre will be closed for “repairs and redecoration”, along with a list of other hawker centres that will be closed.

Snippet from NEA’s Hawker Management overview

Managing Hawker Centres and Markets in Singapore

Bringing together well-loved local food under one roof, hawker centres are a unique aspect of Singaporean culture. Located all over the island, these time-tested institutions serve as important places for community bonding.

The Hawker Centres Group (HCG) of NEA plays a lead role in managing and enhancing our hawker centres, so that they continue to be places where people from all walks of life can enjoy affordable food in a clean and hygienic environment. Besides planning and building new hawker centres in Singapore, HCG reviews and implements hawker-related policies that benefit both hawkers and the public.

To help our stallholders tide over challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government has provided various forms of support, such as rental waivers and subsidies for table-cleaning and centralised dishwashing services. For more information, click here.

NEA manages the 115 markets and hawker centres and regulates the tenancies, and public health aspects of these markets and hawker centres.

33 Y.O ARRESTED AFTER LOCKING HIMSELF, WIFE & BABY INSIDE WOODLANDS FLAT FOR 3 HRS

0

A 33-year-old man was arrested on 3 October after locking his wife and toddler inside their woodlands fight following an alleged fight with his wife, according to Shin Min Daily News.

He was finally persuaded to unlock his flat after three hours, following efforts by negotiation experts who were dispatched by the police.

He was subsequently arrested for obstructing the police in the discharge of their public functions and at the time of writing, police investigations are ongoing.

What happened?

Police officers started arriving at Block 182A Woodlands Street 13 on 3 October at about 10.37am, with the SCDF also being notified of the incident at about 11.10am.

Witnesses spotted at least 4 police vehicles, an ambulance, as well as an SCDF truck at the scene; as well as about 20 police officers.

The carpark below the HDB block was cordoned off, and a video also emerged online showing the man and his wife purportedly having a heated argument inside the unit.

A neighbour who lived above the man, told SMDN that when the police arrived at the scene, the couple were still arguing.

The man then locked the door when the police arrived at their doorstep, and they urged the man not to do anything silly through the door, as the man shouted at them.

The police then sent negotiations to speak to the man after he refused to open the door, and about 3 hours later, he finally relented and opened the door at about 1.20pm.

The toddler was safe and the man’s 38-year-old wife was allegedly found with red marks on her shoulders, and the man was arrested.

Police investigations are ongoing.

MAN ALLEGEDLY TRIED TO SMUGGLE 210KG OF FROZEN CHICKENS FROM S’PORE TO JB

0

A 30-year-old Malaysian man attempted to smuggle 14 boxes of frozen chicken weighing about 210kg and worth SGD$1,110, from Singapore to Malaysia, according to Sin Chew Daily.

He had arrived at the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex in Johor on 3 October at about 9pm, when the officers noticed that he was behaving suspiciously.

His vehicle was then stopped for an inspection, and officers then subsequently discovered 14 boxes of frozen chickens in his car boot.

The total weight of the packages was 210kg, with an estimated market value of about RM3,580 (or SGD$1,110).

All 14 of the chickens were then seized and confiscated by the Malaysian Department of Quarantine and Inspection Services (MAQIS)

An investigation has been launched by MAQIS into the incident under the Malaysian Quarantine and Inspection Services Act 2011.

He is facing a jail term of up to 6 years and a fine of up to RM100,000 if he is found guilty.
