AIRCON COMPANY REPAIRS MAN’S LEAKING AC UNIT FOR $120, 2 WEEKS LATER LEAKED AGAIN

0

A Facebook user shared how he had a problem with his aircon leaking, and that it had a month’s warranty left after being used for 2 years.

He then called the company that installed his aircon, and they were allegedly reluctant to send their technician down and told him to call Daikin instead.

They eventually sent a team to check on his aircon to check it out, and they topped up the aircon with gas and charged him $120, assuring him that all was fine.

But after 2 weeks, the aircon started leaking again and they then allegedly ignored the man’s calls and messages.

Here is what he said

Bad experience dealing with this Aircon company and till today the issue is still not resolved as they simply ignored my calls and WhatsApp!

Having problems with my Daikin system 4 which was installed about 2 years ago by this company which has quite good reviews on their service on the website, but they were so reluctant to send their technician down to check on the units as the warranty was just over barely a month, keep asking me to contact Daikin instead!

Eventually they sent a team of guys to check for leakage and topped up with gas after my persistence calling and messages and I paid $120 after they assured me everything was ok!

But the problem cropped up again after 2 wks and they sent a guy down who was totally not familiar with the installation!

The guy told me to call to arrange their technician to come over again which I did but they simply ignored me totally!

I have no choice but to call Daikin and they found out there was leakage along the piping leading to one of the rooms which was installed by this Aircon company!

I hope to relate my experience to others so don’t simply trust the online reviews which sometimes can be untrue!

POLICE ADVISORY ON INCREASE IN PHISHING SCAMS INVOLVING USERS’ SINGPASS

0

The Singapore Police Force warned the public in a news release about a new form of phishing scam that is surging, where scammers are targeting victims through the use of SMSes to get their Singpass information.

Victims would receive unsolicited SMSes where the ID of the sender would be similar to Singpass, with a slight change in the name, such as “MySingpass” and “SGSingpass”.

They (the victims) would be told that their Singpass would be deactivated, or has been deactivated and that a facial verification would be needed.

The victims would then be sent a URL through the SMS to get them to log into their Singpass, and they would be taken to a spoofed Singpass login site, requiring their login credentials.

They would then be led to a 2FA page and receive a prompt for their Singpass OTP, and the victims would then realise that they had been scammed after receiving notifications that their profiles had been updated.

Some of the victims reportedly received alerts that “they” had signed up for credit cards and bank accounts, as well as having unauthorised transactions charged to the cards.

The SPF added that the authorities has since taken down the phishing websites but as with all fights against scams, public and user vigilance plays a crucial role in taking them down completely.

He had reportedly heard voices inside his head calling him a transvestite, and he then got agitated and slashed a passer-by with a razor blade.

A mandatory treatment order suitability report for Muhibullah has been called by District Judge Ow Yong Tuck Leong.

What happened?

Muhibullah worked as a packer and was at work in Joo Koon on 14 March when he started hearing voices in his head and got agitated before his supervisor then asked him to go home, according to The Straits Times.

He then heard the voices again when he went to the HDB blocks along Strathmore Avenue, which is near his home.

Thinking that he was being insulted by passers-by, Muhibullah took out a razor blade from his card-holder and confronted strangers who were passing him by, thinking that they had insulted him.

MAN BOUGHT CANNED DRINK FOR $1.70, NOT HAPPY IT CAME WITHOUT A STRAW

0

A Facebook user shared how he bought a canned drink from a coffeeshop in Serangoon for $1.70, and was not happy because it didn’t come with a straw.

He added that the coffeeshop wanted to “go green”, as he lamented how “inconvenient” it is for old people to drink without a straw.

Here is what he said

They charge $1.70 for a can drink and tell you they don’t provide straw because want to go green….cut cost say cut cost la, for older ppl very inconvenient to drink without straw….i think this is the only special coffee shop in Singapore.

Netizens’ comments

  • Yah just like those businesses that charge more for plastic bags. I think it just helps them to cut cost only. Use environment as an excuse. Why should the cost be passed on to consumers in the first place. If they’re truly so concerned about the planet, those corporations should absorb the cost instead of just wayang and expect the public to be the ones paying for it while they reap the benefits of acting as if they care and having a fake positive image.
  • We are using rice degradable straw in Vietnam. Majority of restaurant and street food too are using paper straw. And it’s so cheap too as I buy and use at home. What’s the fuzz of Singapore restaurant cannot provide paper straw? It’s not even 0.01 cents each straw….
  • Ask them how exactly does it help to save the environment and chances are they don’t even know. Agree, just any opportunity to cut costs.
  • Everybody is using going green as an excuse to cut costs, as if they have never heard of recycled paper straw before. Hee
  • Want to save the environment but yet will charge if customers need plastic bag. Don’t understand the logic.
