WOMAN RECEIVED UNKNOWN CASH-ON-DELIVERY PARCEL, THOUGHT LEGIT SO SHE PAID FOR IT

0

Anyone else had this experience before??? Surely Singpost must be aware something is going on with these kind of packages. Or else the WhatsApp is part of the scam as well.

I checked on Singpost ‘tracking’ services and the registered article number seems legit and so I was taken in. I always buy stuff online so I thought it was legit as well that it might something I bought.

As I was busy, I didn’t bother too much until the envelopes arrived and it was small and thin and empty inside!!!!

My sister said she also received this kind of WhatsApp messenger before but she just ignored them.

Previously my ex-helper also received junk from China that I didn’t order and she was told to pay cash on delivery which she was silly enough to do so without asking me!

A lot of unscrupulous scammers out there.

Netizens’ comments

  1. I have received a call from FedEx Sg asking for my full address and i was worrying if its a scam so I said I will chk with my family if anyone has ordered sth from overseas…thereafter I received a text from FedEx Sg with the 1800 number to call
And I called this number and chk where and what this parcel is from
Indeed it was the soccer gloves my grandson placed order from Denmark
So as in come to personal particulars it’s better to chk on if its genuine before giving out your particulars
  2. You are lucky. Some scammers ask you to swipe your credit card for payment thereafter you nightmare begins after they left.

Help , how to discipline an 9 year old girl

Am frustrated to the point I regret why I had this child .

She is so adamant . She don’t want to brush her teeth . Even if she brush , the white plaques can be seen in her front teeth .

When I ask her to brush again , only to end up in a stand-off for 1 hour and still I was not successful. All the while

Husband being a silent spectator either watching tv / phone – while I toil myself preparing breakfast / lunch

And when time comes to eating – she wants me to spoon feed her . If I don’t spoon feed , she won’t eat . If she eat by herself- then she will pick out the spinach and curry and only eat white rice !!!!

When it comes to study : she don’t want to try .

Next week the school starts and she will have checkpoint and revision . I have all the practice questions printed out and ready , yet this brat is not ready to sit down .

I just don’t know . I wish there is some boarding school for kids – to discipline them . Someone please help . Am lost.

Netizens’ comments

  • If she don’t want to eat, don’t eat. If she don’t want to study, let her fail. She needs to learn about actions and consequences.
  • Need to bring her to check if she is under adhd spectrum. If not, you can find a kid therapist to check if there is some hidden psychological issues which she is unable to verbalize through words.

MNC COMPANY REFUSES TO ACCEPT INTERN’S RESIGNATION – “YOU NEED TO STAY, BY LAW”

0

hi guys, i need some advice regarding some work issues im facing. im currently interning in a singapore-based mnc and they continually refuse to process my resignation. what should i do?

context: i have been in this role for a little over a year, and i currently see no point in staying. at the start of the orientation, they promised us that we would have a good, meaningful experience and learn a lot during our time here.

however, when orientation about the job actually begun, i saw what a lie that was. the direct superiors of the interns were power-hungry and aimed to take advantage of us, knowing that we were new.

they overloaded us with tasks throughout the day and gaslighted us when we made the smallest mistakes, even when they were the ones at fault.

i switched departments and it wasnt any much of a difference. there was constant office politics, with people wanting to outdo each other no matter the cost to get a promotion.

my superior even made us come in on saturdays to ‘do what we were supposed to do’ and meet his kpis. there wasnt any proper handover procedures in place, and we had to learn things from scratch as the employees who were leaving refused to contact the company again.

as our department is facing manpower issues, we sometimes have to stay awake throughout the night for a few nights a week as well to do our tasks.

to make things worse, the company is facing financial issues and isnt looking to increase our salaries, which is already below market pay. as im not learning much in this role anyway, and this industry doesnt align with my degree prospects, im looking to resign.

however, my superior and managing director of the division constantly refuses to acknowledge my resignation, saying im required to continue my internship ‘by law’ and ‘its only two years’.

ive talked to my MP before, but it doesnt help that my MP has connections with the company and was once managing director of another sister company, refusing to help out with my problem.

any advice on what i should do?

POLICE INVESTIGATING ONLINE RETAILER SELLING MYSTERY PARCELS @ COMEX I.T SHOW

0

The COMEX 2022 was held at Suntec Singapore until 4 September, and they had a booth selling mystery, unclaimed parcels.

Each unclaimed parcel is priced at $6 with random tech items inside, sort of like a mystery pack with the possibility of the items being worth much more than that $6 price tag.

The Auction House, said that all of the parcels are unclaimed, and according to Facebook page Singapore Atrium Sale, some of the techs found inside the parcels include power banks, toys and headphones.

Police investigating

The Singapore Police Force confirmed on 13 September that a report was lodged against The Auction House for the sale of the mystery parcels, and at the time of writing, police investigations are ongoing.

Retailer didn’t consider the unclaimed parcels to be mystery boxes

The Auction House responded and said that they are aware that mystery boxes are illegal in Singapore, but they said that they didn’t consider the parcels to be mystery boxes as they showed the contents of the parcels on their Facebook live streams.

They added that they opened quite a few parcels, many of which contained items such as shoes and bags.

Mystery boxes are currently prohibited from being sold in Singapore, with the Gambling Regulatory Authority previously expressing their intention to regulate mystery boxes and implement safeguarding measures.

  • It seems that more people don’t bother what is happening around them as they are not from theirs. They just watch and see the drama. There are no more heroes around nowadays. Even the owner of the coffee shop did not bothered. Well it seems the coffee shops must request police officer or security officers to station each coffee shops to keep such fights. Hahaha nice to see such uniform security officers at each coffee shops guarding them and also No even more illegal 4D outlets.
  • Just don’t understand why people don’t stop the fight, video for what.
  • ‘if u drink dont drive’ slogan back in the 80s,now btr ‘if you drink dont sit at coffeeshop’ its a shame, if there are kids around to see the fight..

INSECURE MANAGER FEELING THREATENED AS SUBORDINATE REPORTING TO THE DIRECTOR

0

I’m working as an Executive at a local firm and report to my manager.

My manager reports to the Director, but from time to time I work directly with the Director as well.

In recent times, I booked some time with my Director to catch up on work, as I previously shared with the Director the challenges I faced at work, and thought it’ll be a good time to give a progress update. My Director has more than two decades in the firm as well, compared to my manager who joined three years ago.

But for some reason, I think my manager found out by checking my calendar. I believe he has access. My manager recently made sarcastic comments about how I “report” to my Director virtually (I think he saw my online calendar) and has been extra unfriendly to me since – this includes ignoring me when I greet him good morning on virtual meetings.

I really don’t understand what my manager has to be so upset about – if I’m having a simple catch up session with my Director, I don’t think I deserve any form of rudeness from my manager.

Any advice? This has been getting to me and giving me stress.

Here are what netizens think:

  • Local or SME with a insecure manager? In MNC and GMNC employee sometimes have 1 on 1 with both managers and directors, just do your part continue to be polite and respectful to your this manager. This kind of manager won’t get very far, most prob he scare you replace him but with his attitude I won’t be surprise
  • You manager felt insecure when you met his boss. Naturally, he get angry. Will you get angry if you are.in his shoes?
  • I think most of the people working have been in this situation. Next time includes your manager in the meeting. If the manager chooses not to attend, then you are not to blame. And send a summary email to your director for the meeting content and keep the manager in the loop. So it will not seem like breaking the chain of command. I know this is reluctant, and use this method to safeguard yourself and be professional in work. You also can use those evidence when the manager gives you an inappropriate performance grade. One stone kills a lot of birds.

PREGNANT WIFE KEPT QUIET EVEN THOUGH HUSBAND IS CHEATING BECAUSE HE IS RICH

0

My husband has women outside and I can’t do anything about it.

I’ve been with my husband since I was a teenager.

He’s my first and only love. He comes from a rich background and I’ve grown used to him spending on me and buying me branded bags and other luxury items. I’m used to being pampered by him even though I came from a much modest background.

I married him not long after working for a few short years. I quit my job after getting pregnant. A fortune reader says I bring him luck and good fortune, so I was the perfect wife. He has started his own business and it has gotten better year after year. He is away most of the time due to work and I’ve accepted our living arrangement as he gives me a generous allowance and I have plenty of help at home.

He has made my life very comfortable in all ways possible. On the surface I had the perfect life. So it seems.

After my first child, I started to suspect something. I hired a PI and my suspicions were confirmed. It broke me. I was pregnant again at that time. I don’t know how did I managed to overcome that period of time before I came to the conclusion I must bear him a son to ensure I have a firm hold in this marriage. I suspect he cheated on me because I haven’t given him a son after having multiple pregnancies. If I had a son, he would turn around. After a few more tries, I finally had a son but he didn’t change his ways.

So I was wrong.

My friend who has a cheating husband encouraged me to stay in the marriage. Because by leaving, we lose out the most. I agree. How else can I afford my current lifestyle as a single mother?

For a time I was obsessed with the women he was seeing. Until my children started preschool and primary school. I seriously have no time to monitor his flings anymore as I was busy shuffling the children around school and tuition and enrichment classes. When I had some free time, I went shopping or hi tea or fine dining with my girlfriends. I also want to give my children the best so I continued this life.

I used to spend a modest amount a week. But it has since blown up to a few dozen k a week. I would visit mbs every week and buy outfits after outfits from the shops. During the starting of covid when everyone’s pockets are tight and friends are losing jobs, I was buying luxury watches and $2000 slippers in a few colors and tossing them out after the season is over. The more I spend, the more he didn’t stop me. I admit I spend to numb myself. It’s much better than the money going to some other woman. When you have so much money, it’s hard to have genuine friendships.

People either find you intimidating or find you trying too hard. So as a result I have just a handful of close friends. Mostly who can afford to dine at the same places as me.

Do I love money? Yes. My husband doesn’t talk about love anymore. And inside my heart I believe he does love me in his own way. The marriage I dreamt of didn’t turn out to be the way I wanted but i will accept it. It’s better than losing everything that I’ve invested my precious time in only to be poor. When I think about the other women, it still pains me. A Chanel jacket can numb the pain momentarily before I seek another purchase.

I wish my children never go through the same thing as me. I’m too used to money that’s why I’m trapped. You may find me laughable or a joke. I just want to vent. Any sane woman would want her husband to love only her. No amount of money can numb that fact away.
