HUSBAND BOUGHT A NEW CAR, BUT REFUSES TO DRIVE WIFE HOME BECAUSE “PETROL EXPENSIVE”

0

Something has been bothering me. My husband has recently gotten a car. But he did not initiate to drive me home at all. Not even once.

What he has been emphasizing is the fact that petrol is expensive and he does not want to travel far. I would appreciate it if he could at least offer me a ride home from work once.

Not that I would want him to fetch me daily but just the effort that counts. Would really hope that he could at least offer me a ride home once.

I have been seeing other husbands initiate to drive their wives home although not daily but at least once before.

So just sort of feeling a bit down wondering if it that I’m not worth his effort to at least drive me home once from work.

Netizens’ comments

  1. You should cook dinner for yourself only, not for him, and tell him that food costs are going up. Similarly when doing the laundry, let him do his own, because cost of labour isn’t cheap. You get the idea….
  2. I think you should encourage your husband to sell away his car when he can’t afford petrol for his own car. Nowadays having a car is a liability, unless he is financially able to own a car, if not what is the point of having one? And if he isn’t using the car for you and your family, I wonder what he use his car for?
  3. U r his wife, then u initiate by requesting him to pick u up lah. Why keep quiet and then allow yourself to feel unhappy over it? If he still complain abt costly petrol after your request and reject u, then i would feel something isn’t right. Shld he reject u, then u shld qns him why did he even bother buying a car?

23 Y.O ONLY SHOWERS ONCE A WEEK FOR HER WHOLE LIFE, ONLY REALISED IT WAS “BAD” NOW

0

I only showered once a week for my entire life and I realised how probably I was smelly every time I went out and I just wanna disappear from this world

For my entire life I’ve been only showering once a week and today I realised how bad that was. For reference I’m currently 23.

As a child, my family wasn’t rich but not poor either, we’re quite middle class. During my teenage years I just used a lot of deodorant to avoid bad smells, and I thought that was it.

Anyway, a few weeks ago I have moved into my own place and I also got into jogging. Considering I started to jog every morning I started to get quite sweaty so I decided to shower after every jog, since the smell was quite bad and my deodorant didn’t seem to cover it.

This lead me to basically showering almost every day, which made me feel great & clean and cozy. However, this weekend I had a terrific realisation. Basically I didn’t jog for the the past 2 days therefore I didn’t shower. And today, after not showering for 2 days, I realised I was quite smelly. Which made me realise that I was probably smelly for my whole life, since I only showered once a week.

I started to google it and yeah, TIL that we gotta shower everyday and not once a week. I can’t believe I’ve been like this for my whole life, I’m just thinking back to all my social interactions that I had and I was probably smelly.

Also I was looking to pictures from my school days and I noticed my hair is terrible and oily in all of them. FML.

EDIT: I messed up even more, I was reading your comments on this post at work today while being logged in and a colleague of mine passed by my desk. She asked me what I was reading and saw the post, and also my username. Now I think everyone in the office is going to know that I used to show only once per week. I’m done with life

MAN SAYS HIS DIPLOMA IS LIKE AN ITE CERT, SAYS DEGREE IS NOTHING NEEDS A MASTER

0

I am thinking about whether I should accept the offer, as 4 years of studying is rather long and I would be close to 30 years old when I graduate.

Currently, I’m a Diploma holder and working. Am earning close to $3k per month. I only have 2 weeks to decide whether I’m accepting the offer.

I’ve heard all people saying that having a degree in Singapore is the minimum in this era. It just sounds as though having a Diploma now is somehow equivalent to having an ITE cert. Not trying to offend ITE students but this is my train of thought.

Pros for me going further studies:

– Better job stability in the future, pay-wise and position

– Knowledge (duh)

– Better status. I would rather not have any degree than study in a private university (SIM, SUSS…) again, my own thinking please don’t be offended it’s probably just my ego.

– probably have a better head-start compared to classmates because what I’ve learnt in Poly is similar to Uni.

Cons for me going further studies:

– takes up 4 years of my life. Not to mention when I’m out I’m going to be close to 30 yo with 0 proper income.

– current job is paying close to $3k. To climb ranks it would be hard because I only have a diploma

– knowledge is all over the internet. If I really want to learn something, I can just search it up over the internet. What I’m really pursuing for is just the degree cert.

– I have pretty much enough savings to pay for my tuition fees if I were to accept the offer. But I would rather capitalise these sum on better things (investment, etc.)

– everyone else is trying to get a degree, which is common in these years and therefore makes it kinda mainstream.

– kinda tired of studying lol

I need the readers feedback on these please as I couldn’t make up my mind, thanks so much for helping”

MAN WITH $2K SALARY, SPENDS $1.3K A MONTH ORDERING GRABFOOD TWICE A DAY

0

A netizen shared how he spends about $1.3k on Grabfood per month despite only earning $2,000 monthly, and asks if there is such a thing as “food delivery addiction”.

Here is what he said

“Is there such a thing as food delivery addiction? I need help and I think I am addicted to compulsively ordering Grabfood everyday.

For context, I work as an entry-level admin staff and my take home salary is $2k after CPF deduction, which isn’t much compared to the salaries of other office workers.

Anyway, I never used Grabfood, or any food delivery services before the pandemic and it only started during the circuit breaker years ago.

Every since I was introduced to Grabfood, the convenience of the food delivery service is too good and I find myself using it very frequently.

At first it was like maybe once a week or maybe twice a week, but as time went by, it started becoming a daily thing.

Fast forward to now, I am ordering Grabfood once in the morning for breakfast before I go to the office, then ordering Grabfood again at night for late dinner/early supper.

And on my days off, I sometimes order Grabfood for all three meals at home because it is just so convenient and I just have to sit and wait for my food to come.

It has gotten so bad that for the last 5 months, I have been spending about $1.2k to $1.3k on Grabfood, and I am really wondering if there is such a thing as “food delivery addiction”.

I can’t stop ordering Grabfood and blowing my money away and I really need help and I don’t know what to do and I am at my wits end.”

Editor’s note: Bro, uninstall the app from your phone and set a screenshot of your bank balance as your wallpaper.

FINANCIAL ADVISOR COLD CALLING JOBS ALWAYS SAY THE PROS BUT NEVER THE CON

0

So many financial advisors companies trying to attract fresh grads to enter using their high pay as a selling point.

They make it sound like it’s so easy to earn 5 digits per month eg by selling 1 case per week. And they even say they have support and training courses.

I wonder what are the cons of a financial advisor job? They almost never say the cons

Here are some of the cons of this job:

  • The con is that its a con
  • It’s a ‘self-sustained business’ which requires lotsa inner faith
  • Poor work-life balance
  • You might lose all ur friends when they ask u to start touching ur warm contacts. You might nt do well as an advisor. You might not enjoy the job and there are pretty stiff penalties for dropping out
  • The cons is you only succeed if you’re a chiobu
  • You go be one then share with us your experience lah

What netizens think:

  • It’s not an easy job. You got to be brave enough to face endless rejections (easier said than done), believe strongly enough in what you are doing, and let people know how sincere you are. I’ve been in this line for almost 2 years now, and I don’t sugarcoat because new recruits will find out eventually anyway. Success stories are great and motivating, but not everyone has it that smooth sailing. Nevertheless, I still enjoy what I’m doing and that’s why I’m still here. If anyone is really considering joining this industry, my advice is join a team that has similar beliefs as you.
  • It’s a professional beggar job. U need to beg and convince ppl to invest and then, you can get your high commission.
  • I advised you not to join. No free lunch in this world.
  • You need to find a boss who knows how to generate COLD leads on demand. Not all that personal network, roadshow, canvassing. Those work yes but in today’s world what worked 50 years ago is not always the best now.

LUFTHANSA PILOTS WENT ON STRIKE, AROUND 800 FLIGHTS CANCELLED

0

Lufthansa pilots went on a day-long strike on Friday. A spokesman said in the morning that the strike had begun as planned.

Lufthansa had already cancelled almost the entire program at the Munich and Frankfurt hubs on Thursday in view of the threat. Around 130,000 passengers are affected by more than 800 flights that are cancelled at the Frankfurt and Munich hubs.

The passengers were asked not to come to the airports, but to switch to the train or flights on another day.

Passengers are entitled to refunds and possibly compensation payments in the event of cancellations or serious delays. According to the union, only the departures of the Lufthansa core company and Lufthansa Cargo from German airports are on strike.

A Singaporean spoke to Singapore Uncensorerd saying that he received an SMS stating that his flight was cancelled, initially he thought that it was a scam SMS until he read the news.

The subsidiaries Eurowings, Lufthansa Cityline and Eurowings Discover are not affected by the call and are scheduled to fly. The same applies to foreign Lufthansa subsidiaries such as Swiss, Austrian or Brussels.

The union had called the strike on Thursday night after collective bargaining with Lufthansa had failed. Lufthansa has criticized the strike call and called on VC to return to the negotiating table. According to Lufthansa, VC’s demands would increase personnel costs in the cockpit by 40 per cent.

Negotiations have failed for the time being

The company offered an increase in the monthly basic salary by a flat rate of 900 euros. Based on a period of 18 months, the increase would be 18 per cent for young professionals and 5 per cent for captains in the final stage, Lufthansa announced.

In addition to 5.5 per cent more money this year, the VC had demanded an automated compensation above inflation from 2023. There would also be a new salary table and more money for sick days, holidays and training. Over a period of two years, that would mean an additional burden of 900 million euros, Lufthansa said.

SEC SCHOOL DISCIPLINE MASTER CAUGHT WITH 160 UPSKIRT VIDEOS OF STUDENTS & TEACHERS

0

A discipline master from a secondary school in Singapore pleaded guilty on 2 September to three charges of insulting a woman’s modesty.

5 other charges will be considered during his sentencing, which is set to be in November – the prosecution is seeking a jail term of between 1 year to 18 months.

He had taken more than 100 upskirt videos of teachers and students at the school.

What happened?

The 49-year-old father of three, served as the school’s discipline master since 2015, and taught Chinese at the school, where he has been working at since 2008.

The identities of the man, the school and the victims cannot be revealed due to a court order.

Between April 2015 and July 2018, he took 156 upskirt videos of at least 38 of his female colleagues, of which most of them being teachers.

He took the videos by inviting them to his table to help him “key in data” and putting his phone under their skirts.

Only men and women who were wearing pants were rarely asked to go to his table to help him with “data entry”.

He also shot another 12 upskirt videos of at least 7 female students from May 2015 to February 2019, where he would take the students to the discipline room and record them as they used a computer.

The court heard that the man would use the upskirt videos that he took for his own pleasure, transferring them to an external hard disk from his office laptop, and the videos were not shared online.

He also confiscated the phone of a male student who took upskirt videos of a female teacher, then used his phone to film the videos on the boy’s phone under the pretence of “collecting evidence” – he then added the videos to his own collection.

Also filmed a female relative

One of the victims, who was his female colleague, suspected that he had been taking upskirt videos of teachers and filed a police report on July 2018.

The authorities later found 173 upskirt videos on his hard disk, with each of the videos being named after the names or initials of the victims.

He had also taken an upskirt video of a female relative at a party of his mother-in-law.
