GUY’S $500 GRABFOOD ORDER ALLEGEDLY “DELIVERED” TO CHANGI AIRPORT RUBBISH BIN

Facebook user Melvin Twj shared how he made an order for about $500+ worth of food from Shake Shack via Grabfood, and later found his order thrown away at a rubbish bin at Jewel Changi Airport.

Here is what he said

On 11 Aug 2022, I made an order worth $500+ of Shake Shack through Grab but my food was not being sent and was found that the food was being disposed by the Grab driver. I contacted Grab for further enquires but Grab refused to refund me.
Here is the story –
On, 11 Aug 2022
I made an order worth of $500+ of Shake Shack using the Grab app at around 4pm. However, the food was not being sent at all even after waiting for about 2 hours.
I decided to contact Grab and apparently I was being told that the Grab driver claimed that he had already delivered the food and has attached a picture to the Grab advisor claiming that the food has already been sent. When I saw the photo, the screenshot of the location was not at the designated area at all.
Later on, we found out that the location that the rider “delivered” the food to was beside a rubbish bin at basement 2 carpark entrance Jewel, Changi Airport.
12 Aug
I chatted with Grab via Chat to check on the progress on this issue. Grab mentioned that they were still checking on this and will get back to me within 24 – 48 hours.
NOTE: Grab even reassured me that a full refund will be made.
15 Aug
Grab called me and the Grab agent further explained that the Grab driver contacted them and told them that he was unable to find the location.
But, the designated location can be easily found using Google Maps. The Grab agent then mentioned that they’ll check again and get back to me.
20 Aug
But after a few days, another Grab advisor called me and told me a different story by stating that the Grab driver was WELL AWARE of the location but instead he was unable to contact me. But the strange thing was that there was no chat history found on my phone at all.
Since the Grab driver did mentioned to Grab that he was able to find the location, I then checked the CCTV around the area in which the security mentioned that there was no sign of any unfamilar vehicle or driver near the designated location.
I am puzzled as to why I was not being informed at all about the whereabouts of my food after waiting for more than 2 hours but the Grab agent claimed that the Grab driver actually tried to contact me.
The Grab agent then advised the Grab driver to either disposed the food or leave it at a safe place. Even after explaining to the Grab agent about this issues, they still reiterate that NO refund will be MADE for this issue.
28 Aug
The Grab duty manager contacted me and this time, he repeatedly told me that the Grab driver was instructed to either place the food at a safe place or to dispose the food. So the Grab driver has decided to DISPOSED the food instead of leaving it at a safe place which is the security guard post and also mentioned that they will not be refunding the money to me.
Since the Grab driver was ABLE to find the location, why didn’t he leave the food with the security at the designated location? And if he decided to disposed the food, why would the Driver made such an effort to head back to Jewel and disposed the food???
The duty manager then mentioned that Grab is unable to refund me yet again the $500 and that he will continue to check further with the rider again.
1 Sept 2022
The Grab duty manager, Ahmad Fakhrurrazi Razi called me again, and he explained that the driver had already spoken to the Grab agent and the Grab agent actually suggested to dispose the item AT FIRST. However, driver raised a concern claiming that the food was of a high value which the Grab agent then suggested to leave the food at the security guard post. The driver then raised another concern stating that he was afraid that the food will be stolen at the security guard post.
Hence, the Grab agent suggested that if there were no safe place around the location, dispose the items. The Grab driver then draw a conclusion that since there was NO safe place around the location, he decided to dispose the food which is worth an amount of $500+.
So the question remains

  • Is the security guard post not deemed as a safe place?
  • Is the security guard post not considered a safe place even when there were security there?
  • Why would the driver made such a trip to the rubbish bin at basement 2 carpark entrance Jewel, Changi Airport just to dispose the food?
  • Why did the Grab driver claimed that he arrived at the designated location but chooses not to deliver the food?
  • Since The Grab agent told me that the Grab driver arrived at the location, why was i not informed and the CCTV did not captured anyone unfamiliar?
  • Why did the Grab driver did not tried to approach the security and leave the food there instead of making down to rubbish bin at basement 2 carpark entrance Jewel, Changi Airport just to dispose the food?
  • Since the Grab driver was well aware that the food was at a high value, what makes him think that he should dispose the food at rubbish bin at basement 2 carpark entrance Jewel, Changi Airport?
  • The Grab agent initially reassured me that a full refund will be made but when another Grab agent did a follow up about this issue, they told me that NO refund will be made?
We have tried all ways to contact with different agents but the issue still can’t be resolved. Therefore I’m posting this on Facebook to gain more awareness on this situation.
Also, I paid with grab wallet do you think will accept the fact that the driver disposed my food like that????? WTF!!!! What if i used cash on delivery instead do you think the driver will just dispose the food like that????? Just because it’s not the driver’s own money he can just simply dispose other people’s food. It’s straight up unprofessional, irresponsible and messed up!!!!

FORMER M’SIA PM NAJIB’S WIFE ROSMAH, ALSO FOUND GUILTY OF CORRUPTION, JAILED 10 YEARS

0

Former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak was previously sentenced to 12 years imprisonment in relation to the 1MDB scandal.

His wife, Rosmah Mansor, was also in court on 1 September, and was charged with soliciting RM187.5 million in bribes from a contractor in 2016 and 2017, as well as receiving bribes of RM6.5 million from the same contractor twice – she did so to help the contractor secure a RM1.25 billion government project.

The 70-year-old was found guilty of all three of her charges and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, as well as a fine of RM970 million.

Najib’s prison sentence

Former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, failed in his final appeal before the Federal Court and was sent to prison with immediate effect on 23 August.

He will be serving a 12-year jail sentence for a slew of offences, including corruption; as well as being fined RM210 million.

Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat ruled that Najib had failed to show that the findings of the lower court were erroneous and needed the apex court to intervene.

The decisions of the High Court and the Court of Appeal were then upheld.

President of UMNO Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, as well as Najib’s wife Rosmah Mansor, were present at the hearing when he received his verdict.

Najib was convicted on three counts of criminal breach of trust, three counts of money laundering, and 1 count of using his power for illegal activities.

This was in relation to Najib misappropriating RM42 million of funds that belonged to SRC Internation, which was a subsidiary of 1MDB.

He was earlier sentenced to 12 years imprisonment for his offences back in July 2020, but he filed multiple appeals against his earlier convictions, before his judgment yesterday.

This makes Najib the first former prime minister of Malaysia to be sentenced to prison.

K SHANMUGAM – DRUG USERS WON’T BE IMPRISONED RIGHT AWAY, WILL BE REHABILITATED

0

Minister of Law and Home Affairs K Shanmugam reiterated and explained Singapore’s drug laws and stance when it comes to drug users, following the Joseph Schooling and Amanda Lim cannabis scandal.

Here is what he said

[Equal treatment in law]

Some have asked (on my FB) why Amanda was let off with a warning, and no action was taken against Schooling by CNB, given our tough anti-drug policies.

I have for some years now explained our policies.

We are very tough on drug traffickers and those involved in the drug trade. That includes imposing capital punishment.

This is in contrast to how we treat pure drug users, who haven’t committed any other offence. Since 2019, our approach is to treat such pure drug users, as persons who really need help. They will not be imprisoned or have a criminal record (even though consumption is an offence). Instead, we take steps to help them rehabilitate – which could include DRC or supervision. This would help them to reintegrate into society more quickly and effectively. (See my Parliamentary Speech in 2019, https://www.mha.gov.sg/…/second-reading-speech-for…/).

All of this applies to persons who are currently found to be taking drugs.

In the cases of Schooling and Amanda, there was no clear evidence that they were currently taking drugs – the evidence was inconclusive. Their urine tests were negative. (They were, however, honest and admitted to having taken drugs in the past.)

Amanda had a drug utensil – and she was warned for that.

Schooling, based on the law, was handed over to MINDEF, since he is a full time NSF. MINDEF decided on the steps to be taken, and has announced what it has decided.

Our approach: People might have taken drugs, years ago, or months ago. We don’t send people to DRC, or even give warnings, in the absence of current drug-taking / positive test.

But also note: If there is clear evidence of current use of drugs, then CNB will take steps, regardless of whether the consumption took place in Singapore or overseas. So don’t assume that if you consume drugs overseas, you will be let off with a warning.

ELDERLY WOMAN PAID $10 FOR $5 CAI FAN, HAWKER REFUSED TO RETURN CHANGE

0

Facebook user Diana Soh shared how her elderly mother bought a plate of $5 economic rice from a stall at a Bedok hawker centre.

She had paid $10 and the hawker had allegedly refused to give return her change, insisting that the elderly customer had given her a $5 instead.

The hawker then started shouting at the elderly woman and asking her to “swear that she gave them a $10 note and if she didn’t, (she) will be hit by a car and die”.

The incident happened on 25 August at about 1.30pm, at Bedok Interchange Hawker Centre.

Here is what she said

Everyone please beware of this dishonest hawker stall and do not patronise them, especially our elderly folks! My elderly mom ordered a plate of economic rice which costs $5 from this stall that day.

She passed them a ten dollar note to pay for the food and they didn’t return my mom the change.

When my mom tried to ask for the change, they refused to return her any and started arguing with my mom, yelling at my mom asking her to swear that she gave them a ten dollar note and if she didn’t my mom will be hit by a car and die! If my mom swear then they will return my mom the change.

They just kept insisting that my mom gave them a five dollar note.

My mother is not color blind, and she can definitely differentiate a red ten dollar note from a green five dollar note!

This hawker stall is very rude and dishonest and take advantage of the elderly thinking they’re helpless and won’t be able to do anything about it.

My mom is very angry and wants to warn everyone about this hawker stall so others will not experience the same fate as her.

This kind of behaviour is very unacceptable! How do we actually lodge a formal complaint against dishonest hawkers in Singapore???

PRIMA DELI USED CHEESE SLICE TO WRITE “HAPPY B’DAY” ON B’DAY CAKE, APOLOGISES

0

Facebook user Brian Tan Tze Mian, shared how he bought a birthday cake from Prima Deli and they had the “ingenious idea” of using a slice of cheese to write “happy birthday” on it.

Here is what he said

Be careful when patronizing here!!

Extremely disappointed and pissed with this Prima Deli cake shop at 201B Tampines St21 with their “ingenious” idea of using a slice of processed cheese instead of a usual piece of white chocolate to write the “生日快乐“…And I paid an extra $3 some more for the wordings that is supposed to be on a piece of white chocolate. (See photos comparing what it was last year and today)

The staff even have the audacity to say it’s normal.

Almost every birthday cake I’ve ordered from the same shop for the past 10yrs. This will be the last.

I can’t ask a refund or a change to another same cake as no more same size.

PrimaDeli you should investigate and control your franchise properly. This is an utter disgrace and disrespectful to customer.

Update 01: My family was so annoyed with the slice cheese, that we immediately removed it. We found out that there were holes covered by the cheese that clearly shows that my cake’s dark chocolate toppings looked tampered. I managed to find and added more recent picture of my recent purchase of the similar Hazelnut Delight Cake.

Update 02: PrimaDéli staff, Mr. Andrew, had contacted me today (Sep 01) this morning. Experience has been conveyed, and they had conducted their good investigation. It was found that the franchisee boss forgot to place the order for my cake, and in turn hastily use an “old” cake and remove some deco to place a cheese (assuming for their waffles?) and use it to write the deco wordings. The boss assumed it will be acceptable by the customer.

PrimaDéli with the agreement of the franchisee boss offered to do a full refund, however I declined to accept it due to my own acceptance when collecting the cake (although I’d no other options). PrimaDéli had also requested for my email which they’d propose, will offer a nice complementary cake for my next order. I have also accepted their apologies and had stressed that this should not happen again to any customers.

Prima Deli apologises

Prime Deli has since apologised for the customer’s unpleasant experience, and said that what happened was unacceptable and they have issued a warning to the outlet.

They are also reiterating the proper operating procedures and service delivery standards to all of their franchise owners and staff.

LIVESTREAMER PLAY GAME HALFWAY, THEN FATHER SUDDENLY KENA HEART ATTACK

Twitch streamer @sherrng was live streaming herself playing video games on 31 August for her viewers when her father suddenly called out to her.

He was having a heart attack.

Sherr was in full concentration during her live stream gameplay, and her father was calling out to her from the side of the room.

Panicking, Sherr hurriedly took off her headphones and went to her stricken father’s aid, as she told her viewers that her dad was not feeling well.

She then returned to her stream and said that she can’t play anymore and ended the stream as she had to attend to her father who was having a heart attack.

She then uploaded an update on TikTok on 1 September, saying that she “threw the game but saved (her) dad’s life”.

Her father was seen being surrounded by paramedics while sitting on a stretcher, and she was told by the doctors that if her father had received treatment any later, he would have died.

She also revealed that her father’s heart stopped upon reaching the hospital, but he eventually recovered and is in stable condition.

GUY MET GIRL ONLINE, THEN KENA SCAMMED & LOST $20K ON FAKE GAMBLING WEBSITE

0

Met a girl called *name redacted* in a social media app, we had a good time of chatting and she brought me into an online gambling website called 星河国际 which I managed to earn some minor profits at first.

However, after that I’m being pulled into bigger bets of gambling by her due to the bonus offered by the gambling website (using Chinese valentine’s day as the promo excuse) and slowly fall into the trap as I couldn’t cash out my money in the online gambling website

and they keep asking and threatening me to put more money (using rules violation and cash deposit as an excuse) in order to cash out from the online gambling website.

they mention that all the cash deposit can be withdrawn with my money altogether in the gambling website but they never did so.

I fell for the trap for the first and second time as I was manipulated by them of my fear (Fear of couldn’t take out the money from the gambling website) and greed (for the Chinese Valentine’s day bonus at the first time), and slowly I woke up when I realise that they will never return my money and I blocked all of them from being further manipulated by them.

Lesson learnt. do not ever trust easily an online individual who has never been verified before, no matter how sweet talking they are or how true they look like. we cannot outsmart the scammers as they have a lot of scam ideas to come up with. the best way to deal with them is never get in touched with them at all, block any unsolicited calls, emails and messages and be careful of every online people you are getting into with.

Fake online gambling website: xhe123.cc (星河国际, do take note that they only allow their prey to get in the website, as I couldn’t access the website anymore after the scam on me ended)
