M’SIAN ARMY TANK BROKE DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AGAIN, M’SIA ARMY: “SORRY”

0

Following yet another Malaysian Army tank breaking down in the middle of the road on 26 August, the Malaysian Army has issued an apology for the two separate incidents.

The Malaysian Army issued a statement on 27 August saying that they will make sure this doesn’t happen again but “should it recur”, they will dispatch a standby recovery team to the location as quickly as possible to tow the stricken vehicle away in order to avoid traffic jams.

First incident

The Malaysian Army also explained the breakdowns of their tanks; the PT-91M Pendekar tank had engine issues at about 10.30am on 26 August.

The tank had just finished its exercises for Malaysia’s Independence Day Parade rehearsals, and a recovery vehicle was dispatched at about 11am to tow it back to the National Museum carpark for repair work.

Second incident

The second incident happened on 27 August at about 11.26am, with a prime mover encountering engine problems in the middle of the road in front of the National Museum.

The military vehicle was on the way back to the Perdana Camp in Sungei Besi at the time when it broke down, and a team of mechanics were dispatched to the site to repair it.

The repair work was completed at about 12.30pm and the vehicle then resumed its journey.

CAR CRASHES THROUGH ROADSIDE FENCE AND ENDS UP “SITTING” INSIDE LONGKANG

A video emerged online showing an accident that happened along Admiralty Road involving a car, that ended up inside a drain.

The incident happened on 27 August and the video was posted onto TikTok by user @mikemike7368.

The netizen who posted the video, was cycling along Admiralty Road in the morning of 27 august when he saw the car stuck inside the “longkang”.

The OP cycled and filmed at the same time, showing vehicles from the Singapore Police Force, Singapore Civil Defence Force and a tow truck.

A group of people who were presumably involved in the incident, were also seen standing around appearing as though they were waiting for help to come.

The car was seen in the video stuck and suspended over the drain, with a destroyed roadside fence laying on the grass.

The SCDF confirmed that they were alerted to a traffic accident that happened along Admiralty Road at about 8am and a person was assessed for minor injuries but refused conveyance to the hospital.

LOAN OFFICER REVEALS THE MOST RIDICULOUS REASONS FOR TAKING A LOAN

0

I’m working for a financial institution (I can’t name it as I might lose my job) in Singapore as a loan officer and I would like to share my story working there.

Imagine most people would only go into debt and take a loan for the most legit and proper reasons like buying a car, buying a home or a business loan.

But I have encountered some weirdos while working and here is some of them. I wished people could grow a brain before they come in to waste my time.

Top 5 weird reasons people take a loan:

  1. A man who was not able to secure much of a personal loan appealed to me and asked for more, his reason:
“I want to take more loan so i can return to loan shark”.
  2. A woman came in for a personal loan and said: “I need the money to do plastic surgery for my boyfriend”.
  3. A couple: “We would like to take a loan so we can afford our dream holiday to Paris for a month”
Me: A month, Don’t you have to work?
couple: “don’t worry we just lost our jobs”

  4. An old auntie: “I want to take a loan to buy a massage chair”
Me: “Auntie, you want to buy a massage chair you take instalments not a loan”
Auntie: “My credit card maxed out”

  5. An uncle: “I need to invest in something”
    Me: What thing?
uncle: “I need to double my investments as I recently lost my investment.
    Me: What did you invest?
uncle: “Its a highly profitable business”
Me: Can you tell me exactly the nature of the business?
uncle: “I need it to go MBS”

    *faint*

Conclusion

I know financial institutes will allow these potential “customers” to see a loan officer but many of them are a complete waste of time.

WORKER ATTACKED BY WOMAN FOR NO REASON, TRASHES STORE & DRAGS HER BY THE HAIR

A woman who worked at a store at Jewel Changi Airport, called Sauce Legend Boutique, shared on Facebook how she was attacked during an incident on 27 August by a woman.

According to Shin Min Daily News, the 43-year-old worker, Jenny Lee, was working at the time when a woman in her 50s to 60s, barged into her store at about 1pm.

The women then went on to flip over a table, before smashing some of the items onto the ground, including a National Heritage Board trophy that was awarded to the 2nd generation owner of Nanyang Sauce, which Lee describes as being the most valuable item in the shop.

Lee then tried to stop the woman from leaving but ended up having her hair pulled and dragged by the hair out of the shop, as she screamed for help.

Ripped out a bunch of her hair

Speaking to SMDN, Lee said that the woman had a lot of strength and she couldn’t break free from her hold, and that the woman was muttering gibberish throughout.

Lee said that she was scared and embarrassed, feeling like she was paraded in public for doing something wrong.

She added that when the unprovoked assault happened, she was the only one at the shop.

As she was being attacked by the woman who was pulling on her hair, two passers-by shouted at the aggressor to stop, but she continued pulling on Lee’s hair.

Another passerby then stepped in, and the woman then stopped her attack and fled the scene.

Lee then hurried back into the store and called the police, and she added that her scalp was still in pain as she had a bunch of hair pulled out by the woman.

She was later assessed by a doctor, and her injuries were found to be minor.

Previously patronised the shop

Lee added that the woman had been seen patronising the shop a few times before, and the last time she was seen at the scene was about a couple of months ago.

She added that the woman would be seen saying something unintelligible, but otherwise displayed no signs of violence.

The Singapore Police Force is investigating the incident.

Sauce Legend’s statement

Dear Customers, we will be closed for the rest of today due to an unfortunate incident caused by an unidentified deranged woman who came in and created a rampage in our shop, smashing our sauces, our memorabilia and hurting our staff.

Police investigation is ongoing and we hope this attacker is identified soon and perhaps gets the medical treatment needed.

We are traumatized but will be picking up the pieces and cleaning up the shop. Thank you to the members of public that assisted in calling the police and attempting to stop her.

Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Sorry for any inconvenience caused if u had made the trip to come by today.

MAN SHOCKED AT BEING CHARGED $4.60 FOR PARKING 20 MINUTES INSIDE CARPARK

0

Facebook user Eddy Tang, shared how he had decided to take a quick break and turned into an open carpark at Taman Jurong.

He wrote that he was inside the carpark for a total of 20 minutes, and he was “shocked” that he was charged $4.60 for the parking fee.

Here is what he said

Open carpark next to old Taman Jurong cinema and beside Taman Jurong multi storey hawker.

Not familiar with the area. It was raining in that day n wanted to take a quick break.

Seeing the open carpark (managed by Wilson parking), I just turned into the carpark without thinking much. Only saw the word “NO GRACE PERIOD”.

Went in 750am n left 810am. Total 20mins. Exited carpark n deducted $4.60 for parking charges.

Was shocked. No need to argue.

Operator set this type of rate is not afraid of everyone knowing.

Netizens’ comments

  1. Maybe it will feel better to know this. From map, there is a multi storey wet market, hawker center & CC just beside the private car park. If they don’t do this, others will use it for loading of goods and other short purposes not related to the coffeeshop. Try parking at hawker center multistorey car park for better rate next time.
  2. I kenna once. Becoz urgent need to use toilet 15mins (very expensive toilet break)
  3. Since day one no grace

FRESH GRAD DEMANDS A HIGH SALARY CAUSE “I’M A LOCAL UNIVERSITY GRADUATE”

0

I am a manager and a local working in a mid-big size company. My employee just handed in his letter last week and I was out interviewing fresh grads hoping that it will reduce my department’s overhead.

However, the first person that HR called to come for the interview made my blood boil.

So this fresh grad was talking about his skills and etc, but that was not what I’m looking for. I don’t care if you don’t have the skills. I want a person that has an interest to learn. It was simple as that.

However, when it came down to the part of salary negotiation I wanted to smack him straight in the face.

I said our company is paying $3,000 for his position and the interviewee said “I am looking for $5,000”.

I was shocked, I said the job ad did say that the position is only $3,000 right and I asked why he deserves so a high salary.

These were his literal words: “The reason is simple, I graduate from a local university and I am considered an elite”.

My next words were “Get out of my office, we will not contact you”. What arrogance!

Nego when you have leverage

It really depends on your leverage and how savvy a negotiator you are. New grads have little to no leverage (aside from potential counteroffers) though most are given fair, standardized offers regardless.

Interns are in an even weaker position, so negotiating from that position on any offer that isn’t unreasonably low (“reasonable” would mean one that completely covers the cost of living with a bit left over) is borderline obnoxious. In most cases, an intern is literally being courted and paid to prove that they’re worth a real investment, or at least not screw up.

I’ve heard of instances where companies will retract their offer if you pitch a ridiculous amount. Unless you can back that figure up with another competitive offer, you run that risk. There are also some companies who aren’t interested in getting into bidding wars either, they may reconsider as well after a single round of negotiations.

S’PORE COUPLE BOUGHT 2 ROLEX DURING EUROPE HOLIDAY, KENA ROBBED ON LAST DAY

TikTok user @djdowager, shared how she was with her husband in Amsterdam for their honeymoon, where they bought a pair of matching Rolex watches as wedding gifts.

However, the couple then got robbed and lost their Rolex watches during a burglary in Ibiza.

She shared in her video caption that they had bought different variations of the Rolex Datejust, which costs about $42,000 in total if bought in Singapore.

Worth $42k

The Rolex watches were priced at $16,800 and $25,200 respectively in Singapore, according to Rolex Singapore’s price listing on their website.

The netizen shared that she was having a holiday with her husband around Europe, and they got burgled of their Rolex watches on the last day of their holiday.

She added that she was living in an Ibiza villa with about 12 friends and that everyone who was in the villa at the time, had their belongings stolen.

She described the villa where they were staying as “secluded” and not well protected.

She had originally wanted to buy just one Rolex for her husband while in Amsterdam, but she was then offered another Rolex for herself by the staff and she then took it as a “sign” to get one for herself as well.

Police refused to help

The netizen also added that both of her luggage were stolen but there was an airbag inside one of them that showed the burglars’ location.

However, she added, the police didn’t want to help them; they went with the group and they were right outside the burglars’ location but refused to allow them near the house.

The officers allegedly didn’t want to enter the home either because they didn’t have a search warrant, shouting at her husband that “THIS IS SPAIN! YOU CANNOT GO THERE! YOU CANNOT COME INTO THEIR HOUSE!”

The woman also insinuated the possibility of their robbery being an “inside job”, as they had packed their luggage and it was ready to be brought home.

@djdowager P1P2: Can we skip to the good part? RICH LONELY MAN PAID HIS CRUSH $7K/MTH TO LIVE WITH HIM AND BE HIS GIRLFRIEND

0

i paid a girl $7,000 every month to live with me and be my gf

our agreement just ended last week when she wanted to go back to school and it lasted for 5 months but the countless post nut clarities just hit now. god damnit, i need to tell someone at least and most people i know irl will mock me.

the girl was an online friend who dropped out of school and wanted to get back on her feet. she kept on making suggestions that she wanted to leave her family house but had no money to rent a room until she straight up made me an offer.

i think she knew i had a crush on her and i just couldn’t say no. i was a 29 year old virgin at the time and i’m not gonna bore you with the reocurring themes of self-deprecation in this context but i guess you get the gist. it was the first time i had the chance to get with a girl i liked and i make a lot of money so i thought why not?

i’m ngl, i really did enjoy every second i spent with her but alas, all good things must come to an end. we said our goodbyes last week and i’m alone again

Netizens’ comments

  • Damn, so the position is up for grabs? Where do I send my resume and in what format.
  • Do you want to have a real relationship with someone you don’t have to pay?
Now that you’ve gotten a taste of what it’s like to live and sleep with a partner, you might be tempted to (a) tell people what you did, or (b) do it again.
It’s kind of a turning point moment for you. Are you going to stay on the pay-for-companionship thing? Or are you going to use this to motivate you to meet more people and build new friendships?
No matter how ugly/shy/awkward you might think you are…there are probably a lot of women out there that would be with you in a fair and equitable relationship (i.e., not for pay). You just have to find them.
The fact that she stuck with it for the full time of your contract kinda proves that. She would have backed out if you were unpleasant to be with.
  • Bruh I need to work 2 months and a half for that cash, tell me details asap man.

MAN SAID HOW HE ‘LAO SAI’ ON HIS PANTS ON A 14-HOUR FLIGHT

0

So I was on a 14-hour flight when I had terrible gas.

The flight was at 10 PM so everyone pretty much went to sleep after dinner was served. Now I had the window seat and I let go a few times before I fell asleep.

When I woke after maybe an hour of sleep I felt the back of my pants wet as well as my left thigh. So I started feeling my pants from the outside and they felt dry. So I put my hand inside my pants and then my underwear and OMGsh my behind was wet. I defecated on my pants!

Now my palm and finger had brown stains on it and I didn’t know what to do.

I was sure if I pulled out my hand it will be shitty and my neighbours would smell it. So I kept my hand inside my pants. I sat on my hand until both my seatmates fell asleep. It took probably an hour cause the guy on the aisle seat was watching a movie.

I wrapped myself with the blanket they give you on board, just below the belt to prevent the stench from diffusing. As soon as the aisle guy slept I quietly took one of my socks off and put my dirty hand in it.

Then I placed my hand in my pocket. I got up out of my seat. I sorta hurdled by the other 2 passengers so I won’t have to wake them up. When I got to the bathroom, thank God there was no line, I took a dump.

I had diarrhoea. I had to get rid of my now soiled white underwear and perhaps cause I was tired and not thinking clearly I dumped the dirty brief into the toilet.

Luckily I didn’t flush. I had to grab the briefs back out of the toilet bowl and wrapped them with paper towel and dumped it in the trash. Now there was someone knocking cause I was in the restroom for a long time.

It’s cause my jeans had stains on the thigh area also and I had to rub the hell out with wet tissue and liquid soap. When I thought I was finally all clean and smelled ok I stepped out and apologized to the next person. When I hurdled back to my seat I wrapped myself with the blanket again. I was getting comfortable and ready to sleep when I had a tap on my shoulder.

The guy from the restroom told me he thinks I left my sock in the restroom by the hand soap. I told him it wasn’t mine and went to sleep with 1 sock on.

Reminder to myself, prepare lao sai pills before taking a flight.

BF REFUSES TO BUY HDB WITH GF, RENTING A ROOM UNTIL HE INHERITS FAMILY HOME,

0

Bf has no intentions to get a house… red flag?

I’m saving up for a flat and am perfectly fine getting it on my own. In no way am I forcing him to share with me, as it’s my personal goal.

He is 27 and currently renting a room. He is independent but it worries me that his future plan is to continue renting until he inherits his family home (this is not set in stone).

His income is also not substantial (freelancer) and neither does he invest nor show interest in it.

I know everyone has a different approach to finances but for my gut is telling me this mentality is a red flag. I don’t think he will lean on me financially… but this invites a lot of future uncertainty.

Am I overthinking this because I’m just too rigid? Or is it okay to go with the flow?

Netizens’ comments

  • A home is a major decision that you and your partner should agree on. Do talk to your boyfriend why he has no plans to get a house. There’s a difference between not wanting to get a house now and not getting a home in the future. If there is still some divergence, and it is an incredibly important decision for you, you might have to rethink your relationship.
  • The real red flag is not having plans for his future
If you buy and pay for a flat on your own, will he get to stay there rent free? Then he’s just mooching off you. Does he pay rent? Then what happens if he can’t oay rent for a while, will there be resentment?
He doesn’t invest, I’m guessing you do? If you guys need extra money for an emergency, whose funds will the money be pulled out from? Yours or his?
Not wanting to buy a house is fine. But not having plans for his future means you’re going to have to support him when things go rough. And I don’t see him having the capability to support you if things go rough, primarily because he simply doesn’t have the savings to do it.
