A video emerged online showing a woman with her young daughter cycling dangerously on the expressway.
Under Rule 3 of the Road Traffic (Expressway – Excluded Vehicles) Rules 2010, cyclists are not permitted to ride their bicycles, including Power Assisted Bicycles, on expressways.
Cyclists who are found riding on expressways may be liable for a fine not exceeding S$2,000 or imprisonment of up to six months.

Jotham Lee Jing, 37-years-old, pleaded guilty to a count of intentionally observing the victim doing a private act without her consent.
Lee had reportedly followed a teenager and her boyfriend to a toilet at Holland Village and peeped at them performing a sex act.
Another charge was considered during sentencing, and he was fined $6,500 on Tuesday (18 May).
On 28 August 2020, at about 11pm, Lee was at Holland Village.
At the 12.50am on 29 August, he was opposite the road from a hawker centre when he noticed the 18-year-old girl with her boyfriend going into a women’s toilet at Block 10 Lorong Mambong.
He then decided to follow them because he wanted to peep at what they were doing.
Lee then entered the toilet after the couple had entered one of the cublicles and locked the door.
He went into a cubicle beside theirs’ and squatted down on one knee, lowering his head and peeking into their cubicle.
He then saw the victim performing a sexual act, which the prosecutor said that she had reasonable expectation of privacy.
The girl then notice’s Lee’s phone camera facing her and went out of her cubicle to knock on Lee’s cubicle door.
Lee remained hidden in the cubicle, but he eventually opened the door and tried to escape.
The victim then grabbed him by his shirt and the boyfriend asked to check his phone.
Lee refused but eventually surrendered his phone to them, they didn’t find any footage of themselves but asked Lee to reformat his phone, which he did.
The boyfriend then called the police and told them to “come fast” because they were trying to detain Lee in the women’s toilet.

Local veteran actor, Terence Cao, 53-years-old, is facing a charge for breaking Covid-19 social distancing rules.
He had hosted a party with 13 people during last year’s Phase 2, where group gatherings were limited to only 5 people.
Among those present were celebrities such as Shane Pow Xun Ping (30), Sonia Nicola Chew (30), Julie Tan Shaoyin (29), Jeffrey Xu Mingjie (32), Heng Tee Kok (45), Dawn Yeoh (34) and Jeremy Chan Ming Yuew (29).
The court heard that Cao initially invited only 5 people to his home.
However, his friends, Lance Lim Chee Keong, allegedly invited 4 more people into the party.
And as the party continued, the party size eventually grew to 12 people.
Cao is due to return to court on 25 May.

A netizen shared her story online about witnessing a dog abuse.
She said that she went to visit her friend who recently moved in into a condo unit at VA Residences along Boon Teck Road, and she noticed a woman allegedly using a cane and hitting the dog repeatedly on the balcony opposite of her friend’s unit.
“This has been happening almost every other day ever since my friends moved there. The woman would also put the dog out when it rains, hit the dog continuously and even kick it.” She added.
The dog could be heard purportedly yelping non-stop while trying not to get hit.
SPCA is currently investigating this incident.

A 55-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman who harassed a Singapore nurse who works at Sengkang General Hospital, by pouring disinfectant at him and his family, is due to be charged in court.
They will be charged for their suspected involvement in intentionally causing harassment.
A report was first lodged on 15 May 2020 about the harassment the nurse and his family received.
During the investigations, more reports were made between October 2020 to January 2021, alleging the continuation of the harassment.
The alleged harassment acts include using vulgarities and insulting remarks at their neighbours, spraying disinfectant towards their neighbours’ units and occupants, and splashing water alone the shared corridor which seeped onto one of his family members.
The duo will be charged on 21 May 2021, and the 48-year-old woman is also facing another charge for causing public nuisance in a separate, unrelated incident.

A netizen shared her story on Facebook about the passing of her husband who is a delivery driver.
She said that her late husband passed away while during delivery. When she picked up his phone, she saw many angry text from customers.
She claimed that her husband passed away due to over exhaustion in his car, and was found 2 hours later.
The infamous “no badge no talk” auntie, since revealed to be 53-year-old Phoon Chiu Yoke, is facing a criminal charge for a similar offence that she committed last year.
She allegedly failed to wear a mask over her nose and mouth at all times at Newton Hawker Centre, from 7.20pm to 8pm on 8 May 2020.
She was charged under the Covid-19 (Temporary Measures) Act.
The trial will commence take Monday (24 May), and she is intending to contest the charge.
Phoon was seen refusing to put on a mask and challenging a Safe Distancing Ambassador to show her “badge”.
She was then seen trying to enter Central Mall without a mask and being refused entry.
Phoon was also seen shopping for groceries without wearing a mask.
The police were also seen confronting her at a carpark for not wearing her mask, and she was later revealed to be under investigation by the police.
Her antics have also spawned a series of memes, including a DeepFake video of her singing “Who Let The Dogs Out”, as well as her becoming emojis and stickers on Whatsapp.
Her father also revealed that she used to be kind and charitable.

The Ministry of Health responded to the Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s “Singapore variant” claims by invoking the Protection from Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Act (POFMA).
Minister of Health, Ong Ye Kung instructed POFMA office to issue correction orders to Facebook, Twitter as well as HardwareZone forum, which is SPH Magazines-owned.
They will have to carry a mandatory correction notice to all Singapore users.

The Indian Minister of External Affairs, S Jaishankar, refuted Delhi’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal’s claims of a “Singapore variant” and reaffirmed the “exceptional relationship” between the two countries.
He added that both Singapore and India have been solid partners in the fight against Covid-19.
Jaishankar was replying to w tweet by the official spokesman of India’s External Affairs Ministry, who tweeted that the Indian High Commissioner P Kumaran had refused Kejriwal’s claims.
Singapore’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, also replied to Jaishankar’s tweet, thanking him and reiterating the need for both countries to focus on resolving their issues and helping one another.
