EMPLOYEE NEGO WITH COMPANY WITHOUT WRITTEN CONTRACT, ALL TALK

0

Dear job seekers, please read this WARNING if u’re interested in looking for jobs in local SMEs, a very well-known one in particular.

I was working for “S” Company that does. I was lucky enough to have a pretty decent and friendly team. But soon after working there, the higher ups decided to change their structure. This meant that almost all the things they promised me during the interview burnt into ashes. My colleagues and I felt really scammed and helpless because we couldn’t do anything about it. Due to the huge change in protocols, some of my colleagues had decided to quit one by one. Reason? They made our jobs much harder and increased the difficulty in acquiring incentives, basically this means harder job, lower pay. This company, though backed by Ah gong (if you know what I mean), is unexpectedly shitty and unfortunately poorly managed by people who had overestimated their capabilities. If they continue their terrible planning skills, this company is likely to sink despite receiving fundings.

If you could get the hint of the company I am referring to, please think twice, thrice, quadruple times before applying to them. I really don’t wish to see another innocent soul get scammed by them. Your job scope will change very soon, don’t trust what they say during the interview.

Lastly, all that glitters is not gold.

Here are what netizens think:

  • Anyway, changes are normal and if there is a change in the job description, check with the management. Post here also no use.
  • What is not on a contract is air talk, start negotiating a promotion/increment for those that are not in the scope, else plan your next career move
  • Why don’t name the company? People praise and shame companies in Glassdoor too.
  • Umm u have a choice to leave also lo
  • You too dumb to get them to write what they promise into a contract?

GUY NEEDS ADVICE AS HIS 34E-SIZED GF IS ALREADY SAGGING

0

Defo need some solid advice from you guys especially women!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve been together with my gf for 2 years but actually ever since these the beginning of this year, I notice she doesn’t seem to care about the sagging of her asset anymore. She’s a 34E and she definitely needs to wear supportive bra to lift them up, and she has always been doing so until recently.

I noticed she stopped doing that. Every time we went out, she would just wear sports bra or bralette underneath her clothes, yet she still likes wearing tight fitting clothes, and that looks really unpleasant to me and I find it quite disturbing in public but I don’t know how to voice it out to her. Just imagine they’re already sagging at this age, hanging sideways without proper support, how’re they gonna look like after she became older and gave birth?

I know for sure that if I love her, then I shouldn’t mind that, but of course I don’t wish that to happen at this point of her life where she’s just 25, and also the unpleasant stare from people whenever we hang out. It’s just like if men do get bald as they age, but then if I already started balding at this age, and she wants me to do something about it, I’ll surely do something about my hair loss.

Any advice girls?

Here are what netizens think:

  • try wear a boxer / underwear with wire which would support ur sagging balls then tell us why it is soo hard ..she is E cup ..u know how much stress it is on the back …and how uncomfortable it is both with padded and wire…those gravity defying boobs u see on TV or media are all either photoshop or help of doctors..tell u lah…u wanna know how uncomfortable padded bras are in our hot weather esp with bigger breast.. u go wrapped polyester socks around ur balls and wear ur underwear… and walk around whole day for 1 month…than come and complain again around this ..
  • I suggest you speak to her about it. If its just her preference, *mind your own business*. But if it’s the difficulty of getting a supportive bra, then discuss how you can help. Cuz from personal experience, that size is pretty hard to find and if you ever find one, its bloody expensive. If you’re willing to pay $60-100++ bucks for one bra then go ahead. Uniqlo has very comfortable bras and decent support. The best support would be triumph and wacoal but it’s really expensive. And at this size you’re going to get unpleasant stares no matter what. Just glare back at those uncles. You can also help with massages which help with firming up the muscles. But do not under ANY circumstances. Force her to wear a bra she doesn’t like just because you think it looks unpleasant. It’s really none of your business.
  • Walk pass a better bra shop as suggested by other n see suggest to her to go in n you get for her. Understand what she wants, need to buy or as it is now.At times hear guy say about girls stuff, very seldom girls say about guy stuff. Just thinking if she say about you, you going to do whatever she wants too?
  • u sponsor her bra…get her triumph. u know her size. just buy them. and also the fashion now is bralette. maybe u can propose to her wear something other than bralette ?big boobs tend to sag. that’s the sacrifice for having big boobs. unless u want to save up for her get plastic surgery for her boobs. And what makes u think that big and perky boobs are real ?

MAN SEEKING ADVICE ON HOW TO FIRE HER WORKER FOR POOR PERFORMANCE

0

Need to coach a poor performer but I don’t think she’s worth helping

I was assigned to help / coach / guide a co-worker as she was written in by others for her poor work performance.

Mainly lacking Situational Awareness, poor knowledge of job duties, forgetfulness and basically not able to multitask or perform under pressure.

I was happy to help and genuinely cared about her and tried to find ways and means curating different methods that she could try in order for her to improve.

She has a great attitude and is receptive to feedback. She is definitely keen to learn but just unable to perform under pressure.

For some context, over a span of a year, she has been written in 3 times, and went on 6 coaching sessions, some with me, some with others that I specially chose as they were people who was willing to teach. Now, she just received another written feedback, her 4th one. With the feedback saying that she needs to be instructed on what to do next most of the time.

It is so sad that I am beginning to feel that this job may not be suitable for her and my patience with her is stretching thin becos hey its been a year. We see little to no improvement.

I started off with a caring for her mindset but my confidence in her is slowly diminishing.

My reviews of her had been hinting that she is just not suitable for this job but HR wants my department to keep helping her.

To put it bluntly, I start to feel that she is a waste of time and resources.

How to I tell HR to let her go?

Here are what netizens think:

  • Great attitude and receptive to feedback are very good + points. She’s not hopeless. Way better than many others who have attitude problems. Be patient and go slow. She will eventually get a grip on her job.
  • Perhaps it is just wrong match of scope vs abilityThe employee not able to cope can be stressful tooYou can discuss with HR to see if she can be posted to a vocation she can handle first, and build from there. Post to a vocation that she can shine than something to drown herIn an organisation, we utilise the strength of each staff so as to complement each other
  • Is the company you are working for a family owned businees? She may be one of the family so HR decided to look the other way.
  • Have a gentle honest conversation with her. Ask her for her honest answer whether she wants to continue in this line of work /can see herself doing this long term. If yes, then she’ll find a way eventually to do well. If no, you might be doing her a favor by having the convo with her. Tell her you notice she’s tried hard but this line of work might not be a good fit for her. Personally, at the end of the day, if you think she’s a decent human being, then it matters whether you do it in a compassionate kind manner.

MAN SAID IT’S RIDICULOUS THAT TALLER MAN HAS AN ADVANTAGE IN DATING

0

If height doesnt matter in a relationship, then it is all a lie.

I made a social experiment using 2 accounts on a dating app. Ceteris paribus, all conditions were the same: Education level, SES, age, etc. The only differences are height and look (For handicap purpose). One was 171cm with a nice face, and the other 180cm with a moh peng face.

The one with 171cm had only 2 matches, but interestingly, the taller one despite looking cui, had over 20 matches. I even tried different trials with Monte Carlo simulation, varying the height and looks each time and the results were pretty similar. Tall ugly was the favoured one.

If you take a closer observation around you, you will realise most young couples are at least 1 head difference in height, everywhere you go (Unless you as the observer is very tall, you wont notice this since everyone looks like a dwarf from your perspective).

Interestingly, the shorter girl will be with a guy who is around 180-190cm no matter if guy is good looking or ugly, even for short girls in the 150+ cm range. The shorter guys (160 to 175cm) are unfortunately at the bad end of the stick. You will see them alone most of the time, or jalan jalan with their parents.

What is ridiculous is taller males are favoured everywhere, even outside of dating. This is really detestable, really…

Here are what netizens think:

  • Sincerely speaking, most couples I saw walking on street in Jurong area, or at Jurong East Stn, they are not tall over the average at all. I don’t see much tall guys, like 180-185 cm in SG anyway. So…I guess other qualities of guys still attract girls in real life.Anyway…your experiment is interesting. It just shows that girls prefer tall guys–yes, the ideal type. Guys hv to be taller than us. But in real life, many guys think “money” talks louder than height . I read from this forum, not my assumption. How about you, you prefer short girl over tall girl? And finally when you find someone you love, you don’t even care about her height. Good luck bro
  • Your experiment is extremely flawed. You only see what you want to see.You based your entire perception that women only pick tall men from ONE dating site. What about relationships that bloom from friendship, school, workplace and other face to face or non face to face scenarios? In short, I guess you’re insecure about your height. Are you that sore, ego stricken short guy who posts here frequently?171 cm is average sg men height. I don’t see what you see at all. Men of all heights do get partnered up. If you’re single and assume it’s because of your height, look at your own post, the way you talk and think will you want to date a female version of yourself.
  • 1. You have 2 variables and arbritarily determined that one of the them is responsible for the attractiveness, presumably to make yourself feel better.
    2. Good looking is by your standards, which maybe is what the opposite side differs in opinion. Do you consider yourself good looking?
  • Hahaha. So from your findings and bitterness, we can conclude you are the short one la?

COUPLE EATS AND LEAVES WITHOUT PAYING @ ORCHARD, EATERY RUN BY DEAF COUPLE

A netizen reached out to Singapore Uncensored hoping to find a couple who eat and left without paying at a Vietnamese restaurant.

They were caught on CCTV leaving without paying for the bill.

The Facebook post stated that the customer did not pay for the Banh mi and drink on 16 July 2022.

Here is the appeal:

A couple didn’t make payment for their meals at Signs A Taste of Vietnam Pho. Not sure if it is intentional or maybe they might have forgotten about it. Regardless, hope that If you happen to know the couple, can you please help to remind them to pay them?

The eatery is run by a deaf couple and they keep their meals very affordable. Even GST and service tax is not included. They work 6 and half days a week to cover high rent and everything.

So please help remind the couple to come back and pay for their meals. The deaf couple would greatly appreciate your help.

GIRL’S NEIGHBOUR PIAK PIAK TOO LOUD, MOANING & BANGING HEADBOARD

0

A bit of context is needed and I apologize it may belong. It all started when my boyfriend (m27) and I (f27) moved in last year.

We introduced ourselves to our neighbour (f30ish) and she seemed great, super nice. We quickly learned that the soundproofing of this building is nonexistent, you hear everything. Regular toned conversations, showers turning on, TVs, you name it, we can hear it. I have tried my hardest to be a quiet and respectful neighbour but the neighbour this is about didn’t seem to care and often watched her tv at full blast and would have loud conversations on the phone at all hours. But it didn’t really bother me that much, what can you do?

A few months after moving in our neighbour had a guy “friend” over and it was loud. Headboard banging, slapping, screaming, loud. It was hilarious we thought, the first time. But this turned into an almost daily, almost always around noon, occurrence for about a month and this girl had lungs.

I could hear it everywhere in the building, toilet, downstairs. Just when I was beginning to get fed up with it and contemplating complaining to management, see I work from home and it was incredibly disruptive, it seemed someone else had enough and complained before me. Ah, the sweet relief of quieter sx.

The screaming was toned down to moaning and I didn’t feel as assaulted in my own home anymore. I do think she thought we complained because she wouldn’t look at us anymore after that but I didn’t care, it was worth it.

Fast forward to two months, she and the guy and slowly was getting louder again. But I felt like I could deal with it since they normally happened around noon, or at least no earlier than 9. I had started working some days in the office as well so I wasn’t home to hear it as much, and most days I was gone before 7 am for my second job.

7:30am and I’m startled awake by a banging noise followed by some squeals and moans. I grabbed my pillow wrapped it around my head and tried to ignore it and sleep. 8am and I’m wide awake the noises were growing louder and the headboard was slamming with impressive force. I could feel the rage boiling up. My sleep is precious to me, I work two jobs and one is very heavy manual labour. Without thinking twice I grabbed our headboard and slammed our wall (the wall we share with our loud neighbor) and yelled not very nice things along the lines of “omg shut the **** up” and “I’m so ******* sick of this”. The silence from her side was incredibly satisfying at the moment and it has been beautifully quiet since.

GF MOVED IN WITH FIANCE, HORRIFIED TO FIND OUT HE DOESN’T SHOWER

A woman shared how she is sick and tired of cleaning up after her fiance after moving in with him, and that he doesn’t shower or helps with housework.

Here is the story:

“Help! I’m so sick and tired of cleaning up after my fiance and telling him to improve his personal hygiene.

We moved in together a year ago and my perception of him totally changed. He is so dirty, like he will not shower at all unless he leaves the house that day.

I don’t know about you, but given our weather I think it’s basic hygiene for people to shower at least once a day, whether you leave the house or not? Plus he sweats a lot, I can even smell his body odour on my sheets, yucks.

He leaves his dirty clothes and underwear all over the house, saying they are “still clean”. He never washes his feet properly and the resulting unpleasant odour often linger around the house. He spills snacks all over the couch and floor. Got many other examples but let’s just leave it here for now.

Unsurprisingly he also makes zero effort at housework so I’m now doing the 100% cleaning and laundry at home. I also feel upset as I’m always the one taking initiative and paying to replenish toiletries, detergents and cleaning supplies.

Many times I actually wish I live alone or back at my parents’ as I feel so exhausted taking care of this man-child, sigh.

Is it possible for someone like that to change? Is it silly to break up with someone over hygiene issue? I have talked to him many times about this but to no avail, he just dismisses me as naggy and OCD every time.”

Editor’s note: Yucks
