26 Y.O MAN STOLE STATUES OF “DUA DI YA PEK” FROM CARPARK, JAILED & FINED

26-year-old food delivery rider, Lin Jiaqin, pleaded guilty on 12 July to the theft of 2 deity statues (which cost $1,888) from a car park at an industrial estate in Woodlands.

He was sentenced to 4 months imprisonment as well as a fine of $2,500.

What happened?

The theft took place on 21 September 2019 at about 3.11pm, at a carpark at 38 Woodlands Industrial park E1.

The manager of the building where the altar was housed had initially brought the statues to the altar outside the office at the carpark back in January 2019.

He was then informed on 23 September that the statues have disappeared, 2 days after the statues were stolen.

He then checked the CCTV footage and saw Lin, wearing his Foodpanda uniform and putting the statues inside his food delivery bag before cycling away.

Took it because it was “pretty”

The incident happened in 2019 and had gone viral on social media back then, with Shin Min Daily News also reporting about it in September that year.

Lin then reached out to SMDN saying that it was a misunderstanding, that he had brought the statues back home as it was “black and dirty”, assuming that nobody was worshipping it.

He said that he took the statues because they were “very pretty”.

He told the Chinese paper that he knows “very well” that the statues of deities cannot be taken away at will and used the crescent blocks to get the permission of the gods to let him take them home.

He later turned himself in to the police on 25 September.

GIRL ON DATING – “LET’S FACE IT, LOOKS & MONEY COME 1ST BEFORE PERSONALITY”

0

Let’s face it. In dating, especially in our current digital age of online dating – looks, career and money come first before personality.

You won’t even get the first swipe if you’re looks are below average, you might as well not bother.

If you’re a guy who doesn’t earn a good income, chances are you get ditched by the second date once you reveal your occupation or socio-economic status.

If you’re a girl who doesn’t want kids, guys will pretend to be cool with it and still continue to ask you out. Then slowly try to change your views and force their beliefs on you.

Somehow the whole dating scene is way harder now than it was before dating apps existed, where peoples’ perceptions are skewed.

Netizens’ comments

  • Wow, you got it down to an absolute science. Amazing.
  • To solve your problem:
Guys, choose girls who are on equal or lower socio-economic standing. That way everyone happy.
Girls, choose guys who don’t want kids. That way everyone happy
Guys and girls, rule number 1: be attractive. Rule number 2: be not unattractive. That way everyone happy.
  • Next time guys should just post income tax return as next profile pic . Then girls no need to waste first date. Don’t understand why people post so many pictures of food, themselves in different poses, waste server space only

BANGKOK TAXI DRIVER PULLS KNIFE ON S’PORE GIRL AFTER TRYING TO CHEAT HER

A video emerged online showing a taxi driver in Bangkok pulling a knife while trying to intimidate a Singaporean couple after allegedly trying to cheat them of their fare.

The netizen who posted the video, Naomi Tan, spoke to TODAY saying that she was with her husband attending a friend’s wedding in Bangkok.

She said that she was shocked and that she had thought that it was safe there.

The incident happened on 11 July, and the couple were travelling towards the Suvarnabhumi Airport to catch their 8.20am flight back to Singapore.

They were staying at the Movenpick Hotel Sukhumvit 15 Bangkok, and their taxi was hailed from the road by staff members of the hotel.

The driver and the couple had agreed on a fare of 400 baht (SGD $15) after refusing to use the meter inside his taxi to determine the taxi fare.

When they reached the airport, Tan gave the driver a 1,000 baht note but the driver refused to give the couple their change.

He turned aggressive and when the couple pressed him for their change, the driver went to the side door’s compartment and pulled out a knife, which was wrapped in what appears to be a cloth.

The couple then went to an airport security guard for help and the driver finally gave in and gave them back their change.

They then filed a police report at the police station that was inside the airport.

Tan revealed that she received an email from the airport police on 13 July that they have contacted the driver and interrogated him, as well as conducted checks on his license and criminal record.

He was then taken to the Suvarnabhumi Airport Local Police Station to be charged with the offence of carrying a weapon in public, and the Thai Department of Land Transport was also informed of the incident.

YOUNG MOTHER BLEW BOSS’ KUKUBIRD SO THAT SHE WOULDN’T GET FIRED

0

Im a waitress. I’m in a bad place. Im a single mother of a 10 year old kid. I had him at 15 and dropped out of school back when I was 17.

I never continued my studies because I was always so busy trying to take care of my son. His dad disappeared shortly after he was born as he was 21 when I was 15.

Me and my young son barely have enough to get by day to day.

I know I likely wont be able to get a job anywhere else. I do my best at work but im not perfect. Im often exhausted from staying keeping up with my son and that definitely affects my performance.

Recently I had to get my manager after I dropped a drink on a customer and after that was settled he said that I was fired.

I cried and begged for him to reconsider. I’ve been working there since I was 18 and I’ve can’t afford to lose my job. I have no savings and I’d be screwed.

I told him id do anything and offered up myself and gave him a b— job so he wouldn’t fire me. Now I’m that woman.

I’m no better than a prostitute and im disgusted in myself. I keep trying to tell myself I did what I needed to do to put food on the table, but im just so disgusted. Wish I could go back and change things.

ELDERLY CLEANER LEFT WITH $49 AFTER BEING SCAMMED BY FAKE CHINA POLICE

0

A 62-year-old cleaner, Zhang Han Cheng, lost $330,000 of the life savings that he had painstakingly saved over 50 years, to scammers impersonating the China police, according to Shin Min Daily News.

Speaking to SMDN, Zhang said that he received a call from the scammer who claimed to be from the Shanghai police.

He was told by the scammer that he was involved in a money laundering operation in China and advised to cooperate with the “investigation”.

The scammer then told him to create a new bank account and transfer money into it so that they can check if the money was “clean”.

Zhang had never been to Shanghai or had a bank account there, but the “Shanghai police” knew his address and personal information, which had him sold on the ruse.

He was convicted that he was in trouble with the law after receiving fake letters that claim to be from the authorities in China.

He then visited the bank and transferred $60k to the scammer, along with his bank account’s OTP.

He later realised that he had been scammed when he was trying to withdraw money for his living expenses and saw that he was left with only $49.

According to his bank statement, the scammer had taken out $15,000 on 15 November, before wiping out the remainder of his life savings via 7 more bank transfers on 23 November last year.

His elder brother then notified the bank about what happened because Zhang couldn’t speak English, hoping that the money would be returned to him.

However, the bank told Zhang earlier this year that he would not be receiving compensation and that his appeal was unsuccessful.

The Singapore Police Force also added that they are investigating the case.

WOMAN MET DAUGHTER’S BF, THEN FOUND OUT HE GAVE HER AN INCURABLE STD

0

My stepdaughter, 18f, has been dating a guy that she met through her family.

For a while now. Let’s say 8 months. They’re long distance. So lots of phone calls and FaceTiming etc. He finally came out this past week to visit her and meet our family for the first time. She was very excited.

We got him a hotel room and gave her a very generous curfew. They paint the town red all week. Dinners, sight-seeing, they even bought matching clothes.

My husband and I really didn’t like him very much. He didn’t make a good impression for many reasons. But we decided to keep it to ourselves and allow our adult daughter to make the adult decision to date who she wants without our judgement. Making mistakes with dating is how you learn.

Cut to the night he’s set to return home. She comes down with a fever and chills. We literally all just recovered (vaxxed and boosted) from Covid 3 weeks ago.

It’s totally plausible with these new strains that she picked something up while out and about every night in a crowded city. I’m freaking out.

I don’t want to get infected. It took forever for everyone in the house to recover. We have her test (negative so far) and stay in her room. He sends himself home.

Next morning I get a text from my stepdaughter. She says it’s something super embarrassing and can I call her. She says she has something weird downstairs and perfectly describes what is likely to be a herpes outbreak.

THIS GUY PROBABLY GAVE MY KID HERPES, I’m livid.

She called him and he admitted to cheating on her and she’s completely heartbroken. And now she’s calling around to try to get seen by a doctor so she can figure out for sure whats going on.

We aren’t going to tell her dad. It would break his heart. But I’m so filled with rage I can’t keep it to myself.

MAN ORDERED GYOZA BUT GOT TAKOYAKI BALLS INSTEAD, NOT HAPPY

0

Facebook user Jun Xu, shared how he ordered from Takagi Ramen and they allegedly got his order wrong again.

He had apparently ordered Gyoza as the sides to his Ramen but got Takoyaki balls instead, and he said that this wasn’t the first time.

Here is what he said

Takagi Ramen,

I had moved to the east not long ago at a condo just opposite simei mrt and after the first time I tried your product, I really enjoyed it a lot however you really do have a big issue with staff hiring.

Your staff had previously missed out on orders that supposed to be fulfilled and paid for . Meaning after paying they missed it out and didn’t put inside my orders even especially when I have already paid for it. I made a complaint about the missing orders and the area manager was very kind she had it arranged and apologised.

However after alot of assurance and promises that things would improve, today when I went there again to pack my dinner, I ordered gyoza, the staff keyed in correctly and after I get home I opened up my food and found takoyaki balls instead of gyoza. I repeated to him thrice on the matter and he even keyed it correctly on the receipt but when he packed it he still packed the wrong one- and remember- the same person who typed the receipt out as gyoza was the same person who packed it so do you really think it’s carelessness??

Well, the manager is very kind and nice but she is not inside the outlet- I would feel that the fault doesn’t lie with the manager but rather with the two employees who worked there even when the manager has reminded them to be careful when packing orders yet they just ignore it. The two employees just ignored it and didn’t care .

I am very sad and disappointed about the service standards and worst of all their hygiene level within the outlet is terrible too. I seriously wonder if the registered directors or bosses of the restaurant does care about this outlet or they don’t because I can’t feel that they care at all.

It’s so disappointing … the two staff would never learn if the manager is going to be the one cleaning up their mess all the time! So does it mean that I as a customer must always always accept paying for something and didn’t get it correct in my order? Should the boss do something about this or I really do have have any right as a customer anymore?

我真的很失望。 the manager is very nice and helpful- however …. The staff doesn’t seem to bother and care about what she tells them or coach them at all.

GIRL HAS FANTASY OF BEING BLINDED & CONTROLLED BY MEN, LIMBS REMOVED

0

I’m a girl who has excessive amounts of unethical thoughts

I would like to start off by mentioning that at this stage, I have a good life. I’m a pretty attractive women (big chest-small waist-wide hips), young, many friends, many men in the past/current who are romantically interested in me

I’m educated and working towards a high level degree alongside with achieving many other things. On paper I am probably the perfect candidate for a long term girlfriend.

However, I have drawn myself away form any relationships due to the amount of unethical fantasies I have.

My biggest fantasy is probably an individual blinding me, deafening me and removing my voice box then proceed to surgically remove my arms & limbs. Enabling me to be dependent on them and allowing the individual to do whatever they wish to me.

Another fantasy I have is being in a relationship where he has full control, not just within the bedroom. Including my diet, my thoughts, my actions, my appearance, attitude, limiting my social interactions, hurting me, etc.

I have regular thoughts of being restrained and simply hit like a punching bag until I vomit blood.

Another one could be keeping me in a cage for eternity, never letting me leave or interact with anyone else, giving them full control and dependency.

The final one could be sedating me (at any given moment they please) until I black out then proceed to use my body.

Although I have tried a lot of my fantasies out and even had a master-slave relationship before, it wasn’t enough. I need constant 24 hours of control and satisfy me. I have no interest in roleplay.
