The last major TOTO draw on June 30 accumulated a prize pool of $11.67 million made many netizens excited and raising their hopes of becoming the lucky millionaire.

I (30F) have been working for so many years as a breadwinner. 5 years ago my mom died and my brother (25M) got depressed and lost the will to apply for work. I also got depressed but obviously, I have no one to lean on. My dad (61M) cannot work already. He is already physically very slow but will cook for you. My partner (41M) after on and off breakups (it is in my history but I gave him last chance now) has not gotten lucky in having work for 3 years. Now I currently lost my wonderful job due to the recession. My last day would be on August 6.

I have been burned out (my company is very kind) due to me being the sole breadwinner and most of the time doing chores as well. Everyone except my dad has not yet known that I will be out of work. I wanted to rest, heal, and move on. I lost the motivation to find work again. I have not saved a single cent and all my big travel goals have not yet been met.

My brother somehow understands me and said I can have a loan first to move on. But you know I have not heard, “I will apply for work for now”. Something like that. My partner said I can rest for a month but he is pleading that I work after so he can have his business working while I support him financially. He promised that he will return all this favor with money and time (it means I do not have to work if the business grows). He is starting it now but is very far from making it grow yet. That he is doing it for us and so the relationship will not be affected. He said if he can only land a successful job (he will not let me work) but so far none got him yet. I feel like Im wrong when turning this down. It is not like I am being supportive but I have been dragging myself to work already. I can’t even stay on the PC for long due to not having any motivation.

My dad might be shocked by the news. I don’t know but I am expecting he will understand.

I wanted to rest even for just 3 months. I am no longer motivated. My mental health is suffering I guess. I just want my parents to feed me.

If I tell them that I will rest whenever I want so that I can regain my motivation? And that they should just let me be.

Chief of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said during a news conference on 12 July that the Covid-19 pandemic is “nowhere near over”.

He expressed his worry that health systems will be overworked by the rising cases, as he highlighted the new waves of the virus emerging.

He said that the new waves of the virus demonstrate again that the pandemic is nowhere near over, and as the “virus pushes at us, we must push back.”

Tedros further added that the virus is running freely and countries are not effectively managing the disease burden based on their capacity, in terms of both hospitalisation for acute cases and the expanding number of people with post-Covid condition (often referred to as Long Covid).

He added that “as Covid-19 transmission and hospitalisations rise, governments must also deploy tried and tested measures like masking, improved ventilation and test and treat protocols.”

The emergency committee of the WHO, also determined that the pandemic remains a Public Health Emergency of International Concern, which is the highest alarm that they can sound.

A video emerged online showing an accident between a ComfortDelGro taxi and a private hire vehicle that was parked at the side of the road.

The black-colored PHV was seen stopping at the side of the road to let its passenger alight from the vehicle.

The taxi was seen driving past the PHV from behind, right at the same time as the passenger opened the car door to alight.

The unfortunate coincidence resulted in the taxi crashing through the door and denting it out of shape, as the taxi driver stopped his car.

The car door eventually cost $1,100 to repair, as a photo of the banged-up door was also shared in the post.

  • Passenger is a cocker man! Who the hell open door don’t check first. Just because not your property you treat like that. Hate these sort of people.
  • Phv drivers doesn’t need to settle fare like a cabby. So they should have ample time to warn pax bout checking for traffic before opening the door. Let this be a lesson for everyone watching. Be it either side, check 1st. If on the left, there might be a biker, a pedestrian, a bollard.

Uraban air mobility is a term that is not used as frequently as Grab or Uber but it will soon be in Singapore.

Volocopter a German air company that specialised in aerial transport previously showcase their vehicle flying at Marina Bay in 2019 and they have announced that they will be launching commercial flights in Paris and Singapore.

We plan to launch commercial flights in Paris and Singapore by 2024. So, get ready to hop in and take to the urban skies!”

Where does it fly to and how does it work?

The Electric flying vehicle will run on electricity and it will be free of emissions.

The company is launching a flight route in Marina Bay, Marina Bay Sands, Central Business District, Formula One Race Track and Singapore Flyer.

For business travellers, the flying taxi will take passengers from Singapore Marina South to Ibrahim International Business District in Johor Bahru or Nongsa Digital Park in Batam.

A Facebook user, Xiao Mai, shared a photo and video showing a group of commuters hogging a lift and depriving an elderly woman on a wheelchair the opportunity to board the lift.

Why people so inconsiderate ? More people here have the option nearby escalators . Just a 2 or 3 mins walk away .

Yet they hog the lift and deprived those on wheelchair . Hope these people can see their true selfishness here and reflect.

  • Wheelchairs should always be given priority to take the lift. Others have other options such to use the escalators/climb the stairs but those on wheelchairs do not. Please be considerate.
  • Is very common to see such selfish behavior by those who doesn’t need to take the lift
  • I have parents who required wheel chair. To get a spot, I will have to push his wheel chair infront of the door, or else you will have to wait and the wheel chair being so bulky could easily make you wait 3 rounds.

Some students from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) have been found renting out their hall rooms for up to $900 per month, which is against the school rules.

NTU responded to the issue saying that it violates their code of conduct and students who breach this ruling will face eviction from the premises and potentially being expelled.

According to The Straits Times, some local students have been capitalising on international NTU students who are finding it hard to seek accommodations in recent times, and renting out their own hostel rooms.

Some of the applicants for the room were reportedly caught on Telegram auctioning for the rooms for rent, with the prices going up to $900 per month.

The rooms being rented out also do not have toilets attached, nor do they have air conditioning – they are also either single or double rooms.

NTU charges their students $450 for a single, non-aircon room without a toilet; while double non-aircon rooms without a toilet at charged at $325 monthly.

Rooms that offer aircon and an attached toilet are being priced at $635 per month.

A spokesperson for NTU spoke to MS News saying that students who do not need housing on-campus should return their hall placement to the school for it to pass it on to the next student who needs it.

They highlighted that subletting hall rooms or allowing another person to take over or stay in their rooms is prohibited and is a serious breach of their code of conduct, regardless if there is money being exchanged for it.

An economic stall in Hougang, has been maintaining its price of $2 for three vegetable dishes and revealed that they do not plan on increasing their prices, according to Shin Min Daily News.

The stall said that they are willing to absorb the increase in costs as many customers are not getting an increase in their salaries.

They have been maintaining their prices for one vegetable and one meat, or three vegetable, for only $2 for the last three years, with the stall also classifying meats like sardines, otah and luncheon meat under vegetables.

They also have a sign pasted on their stall saying “we fight covid-19 together”.

The stall owner, 53-year-old Mr Guo, said that they want to maintain the prices so that their regular customers can continue to afford their food, despite the increase in cost prices.

Hence the decision to absorb the cost price increase for the customers.

I am average looking (and below average looking when not dressed properly) introverted guy. When I was in university, all girls would try to ignore me and play with party guys.

They would get close to me only when they needed some help in solving their assignments or preparing for a difficult exam.

It was a hard feeling to get ignored because of your looks and also financial status (I come from a low income family).

But whenever we had interactions, conversations went really well with a lot of laughter, since I can make good jokes. I had some crushes but always got ignored by them and they always opted for better looking guys.

Since graduation, I have been working in top notch organizations and providing consulting services to some other as well, I am making more than 200k per annum including gains from investments.

Now things are getting very excited. The kind of girls who tried to ignore are deliberately trying to put effort in getting close to me.

When the girls were young they were enjoying their time (and getting messed up with party guys) and now since we are approaching 30s, they try to get a stable man for marriage.

I am not feeling attracted to even the prettiest of the girls among them because I have seen them in their peak youth and now wrinkles start to appear on their skin and some girls have started to have grey hairs as well.

It was sad when they all were partying and I was getting ignored. I had some crushes at that time and despite of putting a lot of effort, there was no success.

They were happy to be friends and enjoy their time with me because I am easy going person with good sense of humor. Also they could get a lot of help from me in their studies. But for dating, they were not interested in me.

Now, many girls are trying to get close to me and I am more interested in just sleeping with them rather than giving my 100%.

There was a time when I had crush on a girl and I was willing to give more than my 100%, always thinking about her, talking to her, making her feel happy but she was into some other guy.

Now after getting dumped from her ex-bf after 5 years, she is putting a lot of effort to get close to me. She lost peak of her youth, and I have bitter memories how I was ignored when she was blind in love with ex-bf.

Recently, I got close to her just to screw her. I dumped her after sleeping with her couple of times.

Similarly, two months ago, I was having BBQ party with my friends at my condo. I posted story on Instagram and it included some visuals of the place where I am staying.

After watching this, one of my school batchmate started to get close to me. We met a couple of times, and I slept with her for next few weeks and left her because I am not having those vibes now.

These girls wasted their peak on wrong guys, and want me to take them as leftover bread.  I am happy single also I am getting some action easily now with many different girls. There are many other experiences like this but I would not like to make this post very long for you guys.
