MAN PAID DEPOSIT FOR 2ND HAND CAR, 2 WEEKS LATER STILL HAVEN’T GOTTEN IT

A netizen, Steffanie Lim, shared on Facebook about how her father made a deposit for a second hand vehicle, as well as traded in his own car for it.

However, after more than 2 weeks, they have yet to receive the transfer of ownership of the second hand car that they paid for.

Here is what she said

INCIDENT INVOLVING: *company name redacted* (located at *address redacted*)

REALLY REALLY really very terrible. No transparency at all.

My relative made a deposit for a second hand vehicle from them on 12 June 2022, traded in his vehicle as well (transferred vehicle to them).

Been more than 2 weeks since the first interaction and NO TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP done, up till today.

Had to call this morning and ask to expedite.

But nope, nothing done.

Only 4 hours later, informed me that the transfer will be done tomorrow (?!?!?!) because:

(1) system has been down for one week — which system? Onemotoring? Upon checking, the vehicle that my relative bought is actually still under ANOTHER finance company. So you are using my relative’s money to pay off the early settlement for the previous owner because the vehicle is not even under your company? And had the audacity to tell me that your system is down?

(2) he has been overseas — no handover down to associate or colleague?

Seriously. Trying to smoke me?

Only purchase from them if you’re gullible.

Otherwise, stay clear from this group of people.

UPDATE: The relative is my father. And I feel a lot of enrage on behalf of my Dad, who is actually a very kind person.

UPDATE 2: The sales rep from HYC has actually literally just messaged me requesting me to remove this post—I have informed him that this post will only be removed once the transfer has been made.

MAN LOCKED HIMSELF INSIDE FLAT, THREATENED TO BLOW UP HDB UNIT

An enforcement operation was conducted by CNB officers on 30 June at Block 125 Yishun Street 11, at about 1am.

Residents at the building reportedly heard loud noises emanating from the unit before the police raid, according to China Press.

Shin Min Daily News reported that the police arrived at the man’s unit and asked him to evacuate the flat, according to a 75-year-old resident nearby.

The man then reportedly refused to cooperate with the officers and locked himself in the unit on the 7th floor of the block for 3 hours.

He also reportedly threatened to blow up the kitchen of the unit by causing an explosion using a gas cylinder.

Police reinforcements and the SCDF later arrived at the scene and neighbouring residents were evacuated from the area.

Nettings were then set up by SCDF officers on the 6th and 8th floor units to cover the 7th floor unit where the man was holed up in.

A safety air cushion was also set up at the door of the block, as officers tried to enter the man’ sunit from the kitchen window, whilst continuing to communicate with him.

The two suspects, aged 52 and 61, were eventually arrested at about 2am, for drug related offences, and investigations against them are ongoing.

BF PIAK PIAK WITH GF RIGHT AFTER LOOKING AT OTHER WOMEN’S PHOTOS

0

I (24f) found out my Bf (28m) had sex with me right after going through another woman’s pictures.

I was asleep in bed, and got woken up by him around 4:30 am asking me to get naughty with him. We then did it fast and furious, and I went to the bathroom and when I return he’s fast asleep, but left his game on.

In turning it off I found that he had his history open for some odd reason.

Whatever the reason, I’m guessing he didn’t get to finish because it was almost an entire page worth of him going through instagram photos and videos of a girl from our job that he previously unfollowed months ago, because he claimed he wanted to work on our relationship.

He removed this girl himself, and told me he wanted to do it. I never asked. I can’t even go back to sleep for work, because now I just feel used and lied to….

He’s asleep and I don’t even know what to do…I don’t wanna make a big deal over “just a girl” but that feels very problematic….

The worst part is that I went back a few days in the history and found out he added her days ago and had already been going through her pictures while im asleep at night. Any advice….?

JOSS PAPER PRICES TO RISE 10%-20%, EVEN HUNGRY GHOSTS CAN’T SIAM INFLATION

0

The Hungry Ghost Month this year is set to take place from 29 July to 26 August, however, it appears that even the hungry ghosts are not immune to the costs of inflation.

According to Shin Min Daily News, they reported that the costs of joss papers will be increased by 10 to 20% in Singapore.

Religious goods shop Ban Kah Hiang Trading, spoke to the Chinese paper and said that shipping costs have increased two-fold, and the additional prices will be passed on to customers.

Also, due to the recent increase in oil prices as a result of overseas conflicts, candle and lamp oil prices have also increased by about 15% to 20%.

However, demand for joss paper is expected to be strong, due to the easing of Covid-19 restrictions, with customers saying that they want to make up for the lack of proper worship over the last 2 years due to the pandemic.

Another shop selling joss paper estimated that the increase in demand will be about 30 to 40%.

GUY’S FACE PHOTOSHOPPED ONTO POLICE STANDEE & DISPLAYED AT NEX

TikTok user @t1ew_ shared a prank on one of his friend’s birthday, photoshopping his face onto a “shop theft is a crime” cardboard standee and displaying it at Nex Shopping Mall.

The OP’s friends were seen in a group chat discussing the process of the prank, with one of the girls in the group printing the standee and keeping it in the car boot.

They then met up with the birthday boy at the mall, under the guise of having lunch together.

The group, along with the birthday boy, then walked around the mall and past the standee with his face on it, but he was none the wiser and didn’t notice his cardboard cutout.

They then chatted among themselves, with the birthday boy still not noticing the cutout until one of his friends asked him “did you see something?”

The guy then finally saw his face on the cardboard cutout and exclaimed “WTF”, as he fell onto the floor laughing while holding onto a nearby pillar for support.

MAN “SURPRISED” THAT GIRLS LIKE CHUBBY GUYS INSTEAD OF FIT GUYS

0

I’m surprised by the number of petite girls into fat dudes

Growing up, I was not too popular with girls at all, to be fair I asked out one girl in school, got turned down, and never asked anyone out again, but girls in school would pretend to flirt with me and then turn me down because a fit guy told them to do it.

For the record, I’m a fat guy, have been my whole life, there’s no point sugar-coating it. Though I like to think that I have a kind heart, and I always try to comfort people when they feel sad, and I advocate for others.

I’ve become surprised by the number of petite girls that are into big dudes. I’m 1.8m, and I weigh 108kg, and I’ve gone on lots of dates and even lost my virginity, and all to petite girls, I tend to like the ones with dark hair.

It’s shocking to me because these girls could have a tall gym guy if they wanted but they go for me, it makes no sense, they could literally have a male model at the swipe of their phones but they choose to go out with me.

I don’t understand it at all tbh, if any girls that date fat guys could weigh in that would be great because I can’t understand it, a lot of the male models would have better personalities than me too I’m not complaining I just don’t get it at all.

Why date me when there are way more attractive dudes they could easily get with

M’SIA POULTRY BREEDERS – LIFT CHICKEN BAN TO S’PORE OR WE LOSE OUT

0

The Johor Poultry Breeders Association’s secretary Lau Ka Leng, urged Malaysia to lift their export ban of chickens to Singapore, or the local industry will lose out.

He cited Singapore’s approval to source chickens from Indonesia instead of Malaysia for frozen, chilled and processed chicken meat.

Lau added that it the government doesn’t lift the ban now and they wait even longer, chicken breeders will be facing the consequences.

He added that once Singapore commits to Singapore as its source of chicken, it would take the breeders a long time to be able to export chicken to the country again even after the ban is lifted.

However, he further added that in the long run, Singapore would likely have Malaysia as its main source of chicken again, citing Malaysia’s chicken prices as among the “cheapest in south-east Asia”, and that the chickens that the Malaysians produce are larger.

Malaysia previously imposed a ban on the export of chicken to Singapore, until the prices and production domestically stabilise.

MAN ATTACKED HIS GF IN HIS SLEEP, CAN’T REMEMBER CHOKING HER IN BED

0

I attacked my girlfriend in my sleep

This morning I woke up next to my girlfriend, and I rolled over to cuddle with her as normal. As I went over to cuddle with her, she said to me “We need to talk about what happened last night.”

I didn’t know what she was talking about so I asked her. Last night i apparently got on top of her and put my elbow in her neck, choking her.

She said she freaked out then I stopped and apologized, then tried to cuddle again.

However, I don’t remember any of this happening at all, so I had to have been asleep or at least barely awake while it happened.

This isn’t exactly the first time this has happened. I’m an amateur fighter so I dream about fighting a lot, so there’s been times where I’ve kicked her lightly while sleeping, and even once I put her in a headlock, but I always remembered exactly what happened dream included.

But with this, she says my eyes were open and I looked angry at her. And I don’t even remember the dream.

And right now she’s terrified of me. Is there anything I can do?

SHANMUGAM – NO MATTRESS/FANS INSIDE PRISON FOR HYGIENE & SAFETY REASONS

0

Minister of Home Affairs K Shanmugam shed light on the planning and design of prisons in Singapore following the release of CNA’s documentary on Changi Prison earlier this year.

He said on 7 July that the prison environment and regime are carefully planned and designed to reduce hygiene and safety concerns and issues as much as possible, according to CNA.

Shanmugam was speaking in parliament on 4 July, addressing concerns about the lack of fans and mattresses for inmates inside their prison cells.

Potential weapons

He said that due to hygiene issues, it is not ideal to have mattresses inside the cell. As for the lack of fans, if the fans were installed inside the cells, they could be taken apart by the prisoners, with the parts potentially capable of being used as weapons or “potential anchor points” for harming themselves.

As such, a combination of natural and mechanical ventilation is implemented in the cells, with the straw mats that are provided to the inmates, helping to minimise security threats, as the prisoners will not be able to hide contraband items.

Officers run the prisons, not gangs

As for the inmates who require extra care, Shanmugam highlighted that they will be provided with beds at medical wards and correctional united that are catered for assisted living.

Comparing the Singapore prison system to other countries, Shanmugam said that in Singapore, “our prisons officers run out prisons, not gangs.”
