JENNIFER ANISTON – INFLUENCERS BECOME FAMOUS FOR DOING NOTHING

53-year-old US actress Jennifer Aniston, who rose to fame with her role as Rachel Greene in the hit sitcom Friends back in the 90s, shared her thoughts about social media influencers during an interview with Variety.

The actress said that social media influencers are “diluting” the jobs of actors and are becoming famous for “basically doing nothing”.

Aniston was speaking with fellow actor Sebastian Stan, who played the Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and they were discussing Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s now-infamous leaked “home video” in 1995.

Becoming famous for nothing

She then started discussing the changing facets of fame through the years, saying “It was right at the time when the internet really shaped a new culture about people becoming famous.”

She added that “this thing of people becoming famous for basically doing nothing but yet having these incredible careers.”

Diluting actors’ jobs

Aniston then name-dropped famous “influencers” such as Paris Hilton and Monica Lewinsky, to name a few.

She then expressed how lucky she feels to have been able to get “a little taste of the industry before it became what it is today. More streaming services, you’re famous from TikTok, you’re famous from YouTube, you’re famous from Instagram. It’s almost, like, it’s diluting the actor’s job.”

NSMAN NOT HAPPY BECAUSE WHOLE PLATOON SHARE ONE BUNK, ASK IF IT’S A “SAFETY BREACH”

An NS-man recently ended his In Camp Training during his reservist and he shared online that it was his unit’s first reservist and he was “shocked” that their living condition was “this bad”.

He said that their whole platoon of about more than 20 people were allocated to just 1 bunk with little to no air ventilation.

He also shared that one of the 2nd Lieutenants tested positive for Covid while in camp, and he alleged that “nothing was done”.

He added that after booking out on Friday, people allegedly started getting sick.

Here is what he said

Is our living condition in ICT a safety breach?

Recently just ended my reservist (Monday to Friday). It’s our unit’s first reservist and and we were so shocked that our living condition was this bad. Basically a whole platoon (about 20+ ppl) was allocated to just 1 bunk, and the bunk has little to no air ventilation, and as a result it’s so humid and suffocating to sleep in the bunk.

Anyway, we were all joking that covid does not exist in the camp we are in since there are 20 ppl sleeping in the same bunk… but lo and behold, after booking out on Friday, people started getting sick and developing covid symptoms, including me. Some tested covid positive on fri, while some on sat (that’s me). There are currently 10+ people in my platoon who tested positive for covid.

Is our living condition a safety breach or its normal for the other ICTs? As this is our first ict in the covid era, we are not sure what constitutes as a safety breach. Thank u!

Edit: apparently a 2LT guy from the other platoon tested positive while in camp and nth was done, and as a result, it started spreading.

Editor’s note: The whole platoon sharing bunk thing is normal for reservist, my ICT I shared a bunk with two platoons.

The bunk that you mentioned is much, much bigger as compared to the normal ones during your NS time.

ABOUT 8 HOMELESS ELDERLY SEEN SLEEPING AT BEDOK DURING OUTREACH PROGRAMME

Singaporean activist Gilbert Goh spotted close to about 8 rough sleepers during a homeless outreach programme.

Goh shared how he met a brought sleeper who was the same guy who broke down the last time they met when they handed him a $50 angpao.

Here is what he said

Another difficult night to fathom as the homeless population seems to increase steadily over the years at Bedok North during last weekend’s homeless outreach.

We saw close to eight rough sleepers in just a small circumference area of not more than 2 km.

Bedok North is a old silver-haired estate filled with many government subsidized housing units both at Bedok North itself and nearby Chai Chee area.

Tee shirt, rain coat, mask, mosquito patches, torchlight and angbao (3) were given out to our elderly rough sleepers who have no proper roof over their head except the outdoor hard cold benches.

A elderly man asks for some bread and we went to purchase at the nearby Sheng Siong supermarket after which we spent some time talking to him. He was the same guy that broke down the last time we handed him our $50 angbao.

I am sure as he rests his head to sleep during Father’s Day on the cold hard bench, he will be reminiscing about the happy moments with his family in the past.

He has being sleeping rough for close to five years and is in his mid seventies.

Another rough sleeper we met is a Malay elderly woman whose bodily stench could be smelled more than ten feet away. She has a tiny pink-coloured radio softly tune in next to her for companionship.

A walking aid nearby signalled the fact that she may also be experiencing walking difficulty.

This is the first time we saw her during our outreach in Bedok during the past few years.

Others are mostly elderly men in the 60s to 80s spending their twilight years in the wilderness of homelessness and misery as they wallow in their unforeseen situation.

Many could not envisage they will live out their remaining years in such abject circumstances and some do lament at their situation.

Others are more sanguine and took everything in a positive stride waiting to ride the first wave when it goes their way.

As the economy bites hard with the current sky-high inflation, we foresee more elderly Singaporeans will be homeless as families living in poverty will find it hard to make ends meet.

Relationship within our small nucleus family network will also get more porous and friction will occur easily causing some to leave home for the long haul.

We left the area close to 1.30 am as some simply just wanted to talk to a sympathetic person who is properly in short supply these days.

All is not well in our tiny red dot.

Do something good for Singapore – a charity movement to alleviate the hardships of displaced elderly Singaporeans.

PS: if you are living in Bedok North and want to actively help out the elderly rough sleepers over there, please let us know.

COUPLE BROKE UP, THEN EX-BF GOT MARRIED JUST 6 MONTHS LATER

0

My ex got married today. We broke up 6 months ago. I guess this is more of a rant than asking for advice. But man…

He emotionally tormented the hell out of me for 3 years & left me with permanent emotional scars. When I finally left, he got with another woman right away.

6 months later…they are married.

He gets to be happy & I’m here lonely & damaged. I’m healing, and I’m in a much better place than I was before, but this caught me off guard & set me back.

I keep wondering why I was treated so badly while she gets him for forever after only 6 months. It’s not that I want him. Trust me I don’t. But it just hurts.

Life is so unfair sometimes.

Netizens’ comments

Feel sorry for her, Maybe she doesn’t know what she’s in for as I GUARANTEE you he’ll pull exactly the same kind of stuff with her that he did to you

He clearly is faking his personality and as soon as she marries him it’s a Jekyll and Hyde bait and switch

I think you need to see a counsellor and KNOW you are worth more than him, Im pretty sure he will get his karma, they may be able to instafake their relationship but he’s not happy, people like that never are

Be grateful he’s not your problem anymore and know that in years to come you will look back living an amazing life and he’ll always be the mediocre person who never got anywhere in life

JADE RASIF IMPRESSED WITH DAVID BECKHAM HELPING CLEAR CHAIRS AT EVENT

DJ Jade Rasif was part of a group of panelists at an event by Adidas on 17 June, where David Beckham was in attendance at the We Got This Talk Show 2.0.

The 28-year-old DJ shared her observations of the footballing legend, describing him as humble and the personification of her favourite quote, “work hard, stay humble”.

Here is what she said on Instagram

While you can read what we shared in the news, here are the things most didn’t see:

When it was time to clear the stage, David saw the staff lifting the chairs to clear the stage. I noticed he left the line up, and when I turned around I realised he was helping the staff move the furniture.

Although he was not meant to host a meet & greet, he took photos with every person in the room, and shook every hand. After the show he proceeded to walk outside the store center to greet the fans waiting outside and to thank them for their support.

After the show, me and @bellywellyjelly knew he was tired, and did not want to impose by asking him for photos. He came out of his holding room to look for us, & gave us the warmest hugs & smiles and a chat before he had to rush off for his fifth appointment of the day.

This was after taking the red eye flight into Singapore, and moving straight to back to back appointments.

The personification of my favourite quote, “Work hard, stay humble.”

MAN PRETENDS TO BE GAMER GIRL ONLINE TO GET ATTENTION FROM MEN

0

I’m a gamer girl who’s gotten alot of attention from several men online, have had online relationships and talked about very sensitive subjects with them.. The thing is, i am a man.

Lets start with some actual facts:

  • I’m a 27 year old male.
  • I was in a long real life relationship during this, where we were even living together.
  • I’ve got a stable job and life overall with minimal drama.

Story starts about 4 years ago.

Was very into DnD and overal roleplay at the time. So much so that i started to look into online roleplay activities. Wounded up at some forum that were doing some roleplay activities that piqued my interest. So i joined it!, never told my gf because i thought it would just be a small little activity i could do in private. You know.. Just for fun.

First thing that happened is i created my user, joined the public chat, and had a casual talk with some of the members, asking them how to create a character and how to indulge into some rp. I dont know why, but at some point one of them said they dont get alot of girls to join their games, and they were happy that one finally joined.

My smoothbrain didnt immediately understand, but apparentally my username sounded feminine and as such was labeled as girl.. For shits and giggles, i just went along with it, and created my female character to join some of their rp’s. It was all fun and games, alot of long nights with these strangers, having fun with dice games and roleplay. This went on for the better part of a year, still with me hiding it from my then gf.

It wasnt that strange for me to roleplay a female character, for i DM’d for a group of irl friends which ofcourse also hosted a bunch of female npc’s. I got.. quite a bunch of internet friends from these online games, and i do reckon them to be actually good friends. The problem exists in the fact that some of them wanted more out of it. Be it meeting up irl, be it sharing pictures, anything to get a more profound relationship so to say.

My fantasy character, grew into an actual person over the year. She had a job, hobby’s and friends, all of which really didnt lign up with… Well.. irl me!

This is the part where the deepdive really began. My character became more of a person as time went on.. She was me, but entirely fictional. She was starting to get online relationships with people. Sharing deep desires / fears with others.

Hell, she was really bonding with these internet strangers. And i didnt stop it, i liked the attention i was getting. It somehow felt good to be wanted, even if it was fictional.

I never joined a voicecall, or videocall, Always had an excuse.

I never asked for money, hell, i even gifted my internet friends some games every now and then because not all of them were as well off as i was.

Now the last year my.. character.. has moved towards final fantasy XIV, where she continues to be a girl.. inside the game, and out. Naturally she got some attention again, and even has a relationship with another person for about like.. 6 months now.. This person actually lives close to where i live myself, so the notion of meeting up has been a thing that happens quite often.

Now onto the present;

I’ve been tinkering with the idea of pulling the plug. Just go completely cold turkey, delete all accounts, and let that be it. Though this would mean losing ALOT of internet friends i talk to .. basically everyday.. But the thing is.. are they really my friends? Ive been lying to them for years now, im really not sure how they would react if i said i was just a guy who went down a slippery slope of fraud.

I dont want to lie further, but i feel that even if i would tell the truth id lose them anyways. Any thoughts?

AV ACTRESS EARNED $200K IN A MONTH BY MAKING 28 “MOVIES”

Former Japanese AV actress Emiri Okazaki, shared during an interview with Kei on his Asian Boss YouTube channel that she was paid up to £4,400 (S$7,472.33 according to today’s exchange rate) per shoot and made 28 movies in a month, which amounted to about S$209,000.

Couldn’t become model or actress

She revealed that she joined the industry after she realised that she would very unlikely become a model or TV actress, and she used to cry on set when the cameras stopped rolling.

Okazaki also added that her work in the industry was harmful for her relationships with her loved ones, with her mother cutting her off for 6 months, and her boyfriend’s mother was ashamed of her and tried to break them up.

Actresses cry at the end of shoots

The 27-year-old said that during her first shoot for her first AV movie, she cried at the end of the shoot because she felt many emotions hitting her; she also revealed that many girls also cried while filming.

Okazaki said she wasn’t even sure why she was crying, and that she was imagining it wasn’t the real her in the scene but just an actress playing a role in a movie.

She has since quit the industry and is not a beauty business owner.

She also added that there were girls from wealthy families who had graduated from well known universities in the industry as well, doing it because they are curious and not for the money.

Typical day at work

Okazaki made her first movie in 2011, and she described a typical shoot as either being spread over two 12-hour days, or filmed at one go in a single 21-hour session.

She would be picked up by her agent on the day of the shoot and talent for a meeting with the director to confirm what she can or cannot do.

Looked down on

On her relationship with her family, she said that her mother was so ashamed of her that she blocked her and refused to see her for half a year.

Eventually, they reconciled and her mother told her that she will never understand her career or support it, but “you are my daughter and that will never change, so from now on, I don’t want to hear about your work.”

Her boyfriend also threatened to kill her when she told him about her work, and there were times when he pointed a knife at her.

Money maker

As for the money that she makes, she said that for female actresses in the industry, there are two main types of contracts:

The first one is an annual contract of one movie a month, where the actress makes between S$12,000 and S$132,000 per month,.

The second one is a “pay per shoot’ contract, where the actress is paid depending on the work that is required on a movie, which amounts to about S$2,500 to S$7,400 per shoot.
