‘NO BADGE NO TALK” AUNTIE WANTS CHARGES DROPPED: “I AM AN EX-NAVAL OFFICER”

The infamous Phoon Chiu Yoke, 53-years-old, is facing multiple charges for not wearing a mask in public.

She is asking the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) to drop their charges against her because of “various serious errors in the investigation process”.

Phoon ended her remand at IMH and was taken back to court earlier today (8 June).

Phoon was offered $10,000 bail, under the condition that she doesn’t reoffend and agrees to abide to Covid-19 restrictions rules.

She then said:

“I would like to apply for the charges to be dropped and for me to be discharged.”

She added:

“This is in consideration that I am a professional. I am an ex-Naval officer and have strong professional standing. I also have a series of ex-medical history which in most other cases many other people will be … totally dependent on a respiratory system.”

Phoon said because of the “procedural errors” during the investigations against her, the charges should not stand.

She then claimed that the investigating officer did not ask for her identity and also didn’t have an arrest warrant when arresting her.

Responding to the bail of $10,000, Phoon again brought up her former career in the Navy and citing her “contributions to Singapore as a pioneer”, saying:

“If I have to pay for bail, then it will just be S$3,000 and no need for any surety, because I have a strong professional standing.”

She was eventually granted bail of $8,000 and told to follow the Covid-19 rules, including wearing of mask in public.

Phoon agreed.

She is due to return to court next week.

This unidentified man was spotted working out inside the MRT instead, doing pull-ups on the handlebars inside the train cabin.

Talk about dedication…

A Facebook user, Grace Yeo, shared how she was walking her dog at Robertson Quay when a jogger allegedly snatched her dog’s leash and flung the little creature to the railing on the side.

What happened?

The incident happened at around 7.25am yesterday (7 June), along the Singapore River.

She was walking in the middle of the pathway and her dog was on the grass, when an Ang Moh in his 40s/50s ran up from behind her and grabbed her dog’s leash from her.

Yeo also didn’t notice the man until he grabbed the leash from her, and he continued running after flinging the leash.

Chased after him

Yeo then chased after him to confront him, asking him why he did that, and the man allegedly said:

“Your dog was blocking my way! Watch your dog!”

Yeo then apologised for blocking his way, but highlighted that he didn’t have the right to hurt her dog.

She then tried to take a photo of him to make a police report but the fella ran away; she did manage to take a picture of his back though, describing the Ang Moh as “white, tall and slender.”

RACIST MAN WHO CONFRONTED MIXED-RACE COUPLE IS A LECTURER AT NGEE ANN POLY

A video of a self-proclaimed racist man who confronted an interracial couple and berated the Indian man for dating a Chinese girl, went viral on social media and the racist man drew flak online from netizens and even the Law Minister himself.

Senior lecturer from Ngee Ann Poly

As it now turns out, the racist man is a 60-year-old senior lecturer from Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP)’s School of Engineering.

The man, Tan Boon Lee, is currently suspended by the school and an internal investigation is being conducted; with NP considering the appropriate disciplinary action to be taken against him.

NP said that they are aware of the video and that they “regret that the individual in question is a member of our staff.”

Wants to highlight subject of interracial marriage

Tan (speaking to TODAY) said that he doesn’t want to comment on the case as it is under police investigation.

He did however, say that it is a good time to highlight the “subject of interracial marriage in Singapore, Asia or worldwide.”

A spokesperson for NP said:

“We take a very serious view of the matter as the remarks made by the individual are highly offensive, disrespectful and goes against our staff code of conduct and values as a community.”

It is also worth noting that Tan appears to have received the Long Service Medal in 2019 during the National Day Awards, which is listed on the Prime Minister’s Office’s website.
