The infamous “no badge no talk” auntie, Phoon Chiu Yoke, who adamantly refused to put on a mask at MBS even after being asked to do so by a Safe Distancing Ambassador, and challenged her (the SDA) to show her badge, is currently on trial for a similar offence she allegedly committed in 2020’s Circuit Breaker.
The 53-year-old woman was charged for failing to wear her mask on 8 May 2020 at Newton Hawker Centre.
Phoon pleaded not guilty.
Inside courtroom still remove mask
Her trial started earlier today on 24 May, and she appeared in a black blazer and skirt at the State Courts.
She reportedly only put on a mask when she was at the entrance of the court.
She then continued wearing the mask when she was inside the courtroom, until the trial proceedings started and she then removed her mask.
The judge then told her to put her mask back on.
Took off mask once outside court and smiles at reporters
Following the adjournment of the trial to 12 July, Phoon was then seen leaving the courtroom with her mask still on.
However, she then soon took off her mask once she stepped outside and smiled at the reporters outside who were taking her photos.
The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has inspected more than 530 workplaces between May 8 and May 21 and issued fines to 11 companies for failing to allow employees to work from home.
Those who do not comply with the measures will be fined $1,000, increasing to $2,000 for repeat breaches.
Under the latest advisory on May 14, all employees who are able to work home must do so MOM said.
Only employees that are unable to work from home due to their nature of work can continue to work on site added MOM.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry requires all employers to declare the number of workers working at the workplace by May 28, and continue to update if there are significant changes.
“Regardless of the declared number of workers, it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that all employees work from home if they are able to do so,” said MOM.
On Monday (May 24), 36 new Covid-19 cases were confirmed, taking the total number of cases in Singapore to 61,860.
There are 24 new Community cases detected, with 12 of them already placed on quarantine. 22 of the cases are linked to previous cases, with the remaining 2 currently unlinked.
12 imported cases have been placed on stay-home notice upon arrival, with 5 being Singaporeans or PR.
Among them is a Singaporean witch who is taking to magic to locate the ones responsible for the gruesome act.
The witch, who goes by the name of Bambi, posted onto her Instagram stories to share herself casting spells to track down the sick person who slashed the cats.
She then found out that someone who knows the abuser, has been keeping his/her mouth shut about the incident because of the fear of losing the relationship and stability of family.
$4,000 reward
Bambi then offered $4,000 in cash for the person who knows the slasher, to step forward and help the law apprehend the cat abuser.
Unorthodox methods, but respect nevertheless.
I stan.

The Ministry of Transport (MOT), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and Ministry of Manpower (MOM) released a joint statement yesterday (23 May).
They said that the family that is suspected to have started the Covid-19 cluster at Changi Airport’s Terminal 3 didn’t arrive from India.
They explained that this is because India has banned all international commercial services to and from Singapore since March 2020.
They also revealed that the only passenger flights operating between Singapore and India are the Vande Bharat flights, to repatriate stranded citizens, and that those flights only operate at Terminal 1.
They noted that at the moment, SIA is only operating cargo flights to India.
No other details about the family suspected to have started the cluster are available, other than they arrived on a flight from a “South Asian country”.
They also highlighted that all arriving passengers at the Changi Airport from India are subjected to 2 Covid-19 tests, which includes an Antigen Rapid Test and a Polymerase Chain Reaction Test; thereafter they will be escorted from their disembarkation to their transport to their respective stay-home-notice facilities for a 21-day quarantine.

The victim declined and said that his attacker had already alighted, and that he was fine and continued on his journey.
SBS Transit will also share CCTV footage of the attack with the police.
In view of the Covid-19 pandemic and tightening of the Covid-19 restrictions in Singapore, it’s only natural that some people are feeling a little “kiasi”.
An auntie took the term “kiasi” and “kiasu” onto a whole other level, taking the extra step (or steps) to ensure her protection from the coronavirus.
She was seen wearing a bunch of masks on her face, probably for 100 times filtration and 200 times protection.
