GAMBLING SYNDICATE BUSTED, MORE THAN $1.2 MILLION SEIZED AND 28 ARRESTED

The Singapore Police said on 21 April that more than $1.2 million in cash was seized in a raid against a remote gambling syndicate that saw 1 woman and 27 men arrested for their suspected involvement in providing illegal remote 4D, TOTO and horse betting services.

The amount of cash that was seized is one of the largest sums ever confiscated in a single police operation against illegal remote gambling.

More than 180 officers from the Criminal Investigation Department, Police Intelligence Department and Special Operations Command conducted the raids simultaneously, which took place at multiple locations islandwide.

Items such as computers, mobile phones, betting records were also confiscated.

The bank accounts of the suspects have also been frozen for investigations as well as to prevent the dissipation of the illegal money.

6 men aged between 38 and 49 will be charged in court today (21 April) for offences under the Remote Gambling Act 2014.

Investigations against the remaining suspects are still ongoing.

MAN SMOKED A FEW CM AWAY FROM DESIGNATED BOX, KENA FINE FOR SCOLDING NEA OFFICER

Muhammad Raynie Mokhtar, 34, pleaded guilty to one charge of using abusive language towards a public servant after being caught smoking outside the designated area at Lucky Plaza.

The victim was performing enforcement duties at Lucky Plaza at 4.30pm last year when he saw Raynie smoking outside the box, so he started issuing a writ of summons to Raynie, who started cursing at him angrily.

Raynie reportedly said:

“Why the f*** … you do this to Singaporeans? What’s your f****** purpose? F*** yourself man, and give me back my NRIC”.

Raynie then rejected the saman and called 999, telling the police that he was a few CM away from the smoking corner, alleging that they are abusing their powers.

The prosecution asked for a fine of $3,000 and the court asked him how he would settle the fine.

Raynie said he only had $2 in his bank account and he needed money for his family’s Hari Raya celebrations.

The judge allowed him to pay by instalments by July 2021.

MAN JAILED FOR SETTING HOTEL 81 ON FIRE AFTER DENIED ENTRY WITH VIET GIRL

34-year-old Lau Sheng Shiun and his friend Chua Wen Hao tried to check into Hotel 81 Violet located at 97 Lavender St with a Vietnamese girl. Lau was caught by the hotel’s staff as only two-person were allowed in the room.

After Lau was caught by the hotel staff and left through the back door of the hotel where there were crates of towels and he set fire to the towels due to frustration with a lit cigarette.

The incident happened on 12 September 2017, Lau is facing a jail term of up to 7 years.

A passerby saw the fire and alerted the hotel.

What happened before

Lau and Chua were enjoying at karaoke lounge and had drinks. At the lounge, they met a Vietnamese girl and left together before heading to Hotel 81. It is unclear what the trio is planning to do in the room. (Leave it to your imagination).

He said that he was “frustrated” after he was denied entry and claim that he was too drunk to remember about the incident.

Chua was fined S$2,500 as he tried to lie to the Police claiming that he did not know Lau and did not allow him to enter the room.

MONKEY PEEP INSIDE CHILDCARE CENTRE, WONDERS WHAT IT’S LIKE TO GO TO SCHOOL

A couple of videos emerged online showing a monkey at a HDB void deck, making it’s way to a childcare centre.

The little guy climbed onto the window grills of the childcare centre and peeped inside, probably wondering what it’s like to be a human going to school.

The netizen who shared the video said that thankfully the monkey didn’t enter.

COUPLE CAUGHT BEING NAUGHTY AT HDB VOID DECK, GIRL USE GUY’S KKB AS PILLOW TO SLEEP

A video emerged online showing a couple engaging in a seemingly amorous yet curious activity at the void deck of a HDB block.

The girl could be seen with her head on the guy’s crotch, as the guy laid on his back on the bench.

The two then curiously remained in this position and fell asleep.

The incident purportedly happened at a HDB void deck at Hougang Avenue 8.

YP CANED BY SCHOOL FOR VAPING AND TRUANCY, NOT HAPPY HE GOT CANED ON THIGH

A young punk who is a Secondary 2 student as “NSS” (we assume it stands for Northland Secondary School), shared that he was caned 3 strokes by his school for vaping and truancy.

He said that the school accidentally caned him “1 stroke on my thighs so I don’t know what to do now”.

He said that he “heard” from his friends that the school “shouldn’t cane like how they did”.

He added that “My *ss got line and stings, can’t sit down”.

GUY ASKS CAROUSELL SELLER IF HE CAN HAVE HIS $450 GAME ACCOUNT FOR FREE, GETS TROLLED

A netizen shared how he put up his Call of Duty: Mobile gaming account for sale on Carousell, for $450.

He then received a message from what seemed like a prospective buyer, asking him if he does “free”.

The “buyer” explained that he “really needs this account because his girlfriend lost hers and needs one ASAP”.

The painfully oblivious one then tried to log into the account but it was apparently not working, so he went back and asked the seller:

S’PORE HOST PORNSAK BECOMES A LICENSED TCM PHYSICIAN, CALLS HIMSELF “DR P*RN”

Pornsak Prajakwit, the veteran Singapore-based entertainment host, is now a licensed Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) physician in Singapore.

Pornsak was ecstatic and visibly over the moon as he announced on his Instagram that he finally passed his exams and qualified as a physician.

According to the TCM Practitioners Board, he obtained a full registration and is licensed to practise his prescribed area(s) of TCM on his own, anywhere in Singapore.

Pornsak could be seen holding up a brand new cardholder that he bought to house his new license card.

He revealed that he spent 10 years studying TCM practice after work at night, and that he will continue to work hard.

That very evening, after posting his announcement video, he won the Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes award at the annual Star Awards 2021.
