So I work in tech and have been remote since the very beginning of the worldwide thing. I was only in the office for about 3 months before we went remote. I’m not a very bad employee but I also didn’t go above and beyond with my work. I did was needed to be done and only took on extra tasks if I was asked to.

I like working from home, especially since I can get an extra hour of sleep every morning and I can cook all my meals at home. I have time to workout and dabble in my hobbies. My productivity is great as is everyone else’s in the company.

Anyways today my boss sent out a mass email saying we are returning to the office full time starting next week. I know most people are unhappy about this but management doesn’t care. So I responded to the email by saying “well expect lower productivity if you force us back to the office”.

No one responded to me. Later today my boss called me and told me that they are doing some cutbacks and that my position has been eliminated effective immediately. I’m in an at will state so I know I can’t do much. Luckily I can probably get a job pretty much whenever I want.

I just thought it was funny how fragile some people are.

But the parent company is struggling to find developers and finally relented to let us work from home 1 day a week. And after a couple of weeks of this, they bumped it to 2. 
  • If you’re a developer, please leave this company for a job at 3x the pay – then tell them the only reason you started interviewing was “commuting to hangout on slack”
  • Boss want to pay more rental and electricity let them be, make sure charge all ur devices in office and stop flushing the toilet.

Recently many members of public have alerted me and Ministry of Health, Singapore of doctored pictures of me endorsing certain medical products.

These are all fake.

As a practice, MOH officials and political appointees do not endorse any medical products. MOH is working with Facebook (Singapore) to remove the misleading and unauthorised posts.

Please be careful and not fall prey to such fake advertising.

I have a friend in our group, he is the go-to guy for everything money related. He got his first 100k net worth at 22 and is now on his way to becoming a millionaire. He is 100% self-made la.

So recently I am getting married and thinking of getting a nice watch to commemorate this occasion. I was looking at an IWC or Tudor watch. I shared with him this and also my wedding plans and all. He paused and asked if I wanted advice. Of course, I said yes la.

He told me, to stop spending my money on things that will be worth nothing. Most people cannot build wealth because they spend their earnings on stupid things that lose money. If we gotta buy luxury, better make sure that the items can retain value, at least our net worth will not drop. He then educated me on watches, the movement, history, price movement and brands. There’s a holy trinity of watches also wtf? He concluded that if i wanna buy my IWC, i should buy it 2nd hand, let the first buyer suffer the depre, then at least i can sell my watch for the same price i bought.

With regards to the wedding, he told me that me and my wife gotta decide ourselves if the 1 day party is worth all the opportunity cost. do we fulfill our emotional side or our logical side? If we choose to indulge in the one day party or a kickass honeymoon, then we need to accept that we will have no money at the beginning of our marriage.

Wah, this convo made me realise how much self-control he had. He is the highest earning guy in our group with also the highest net worth, but he had no banquet, no guo da li, no 4 points of gold, fully paid house. He literally just went to ROM, sign and then go smu for lunch. But damn…… the patek on his wrist is gorgeous.

[UPDATE ON MY PREVIOUS POST THAT WENT SLIGHTLY VIRAL ON 21 APRIL]

PLEASE READ! Your family, your friends or EVEN YOU might be the next victim. :’)

I’ll try to make this as short as possible so bear with me!

On 21 April, I received a Whatsapp message from an unknown Malaysian number. Due to the nature of my online business (selling gaming credits), I replied thinking that it was an overseas customer. You can refer to the screenshots attached to read our conversation so I don’t need to go into details.

As per the conversation, I got a friend of mine to Whatsapp the number given but the person did not seem to want to answer any questions and blocked my friend. So I went ahead to post on Facebook.

I was later contacted by a victim on Telegram (indeed he turned out to be a customer of mine for MLBB diamonds) and that’s when I got to know of the sickening truth behind all these.

For the sake of not typing too much, please read the attached screenshots of the victim’s encounter with the aforementioned syndicate.

I would like to use this opportunity to express my greatest sympathy to the victim and anyone else who have fell victim to this heinous overseas syndicate. I have since deleted my previous post but feel that it is only right for me to clarify what happened and to bring public awareness about such a sinister crime.

TLDR:

Guy answered an unknown number from UK, which is operated by an overseas syndicate.

The hacker took all the photos and contacts in his phone, edited his photo to a adult video and blackmailed him by sending the video to his contacts and putting it online.

So this happened yesterday – i was feeling pretty tired so decided I was going to call it an early night, left my wife watching some TV, kids were in bed, time for some restful shuteye.

The usual routine is read a book for a while but after 10 mins I couldn’t keep my eyes open, book down, lights out, sleepy time.

Boom!! Im launched into some really crazy dream where im being held under duress, someone was threatening to hurt me, my family, my kids, someone was holding down my hands, and i managed to free my right, im gonna let this person have it.

So I swing a couple of right hands at my dream tormentor and land successfully and think yeah that taught you a lesson, but then my tormentor starts to cry.

I wake up and see that my wife had climbed in next to me for some snuggles and was rewarded by being dream punched in the head, my wife bursts in to tear “Why did you punch me!!!?”

Shes like what the hell happened?!? i explain and apologize profusely, this has happened to me a couple of times before, so she understood, i was more worried i had caused my wife to get a black eye and that she would tell her colleagues the next day that her husband had punched her.

I got out of bed settled my daughter back in her own bed and spent the next 2 hours checking on her to make sure i hadn’t caused her any lasting damage

A 41-year-old man will be charged today (April 27) for allegedly injuring a security guard after he pushed him to the ground.

The security guard suffers from a fracture after the fall.

If the man is found guilty of causing grievous hurt, he can be jailed for up to 10 years and/or fine and/or caned.

Background:

The incident happened at United Square on 6 November 2021.

The security officer had signaled for an SUV driver to stop, and the driver then drove into a barricaded lane at a drop-off point.

The driver then allegedly shoved the security guard onto the ground after alighting from his car to confront the guard, resulting in the guard suffering a fracture to his pal and an injured lower back.

The police are investigating the incident and the union is assisting the officer, who is on medical leave because of the alleged incident.

The injured security officer who has been a senior security officer deployed at United Square to control traffic at United Square’s drop-off point, has been working for about 5 years prior to the alleged assault.

SCDF RESCUES 3 PEOPLE THAT WERE STUCK IN LIFT @ WOODLANDS

Typically when one is stuck in the lift, they would call the number located near the button panel.

Due to power failure, a rescue operation was needed to save 3 people who were stuck in a lift at Woodlands.

Here is what SCDF said:

(26 April) at about 5.10pm, SCDF received a call for assistance at No. 1 Woodlands Road.

Upon SCDF’s arrival, a lift was found stuck between the 2nd and 4th floor (the lift does not serve the 3rd floor). There were three persons trapped in the lift.

As power could not be restored to the lift, rescuers from the elite Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) were activated for the rescue operation.

The DART rescuers set up a rescue system of pulleys and ropes on the 4th floor. This enabled two rescuers to rappel down the lift shaft, gaining access into the lift through an access hatch.

Each trapped person was secured in a rescue harness before being brought out of the lift using a ladder. A Power Ascender, a specialised portable battery-operated device, was then used to raise each of the trapped persons to safety.

After they were rescued, an SCDF ambulance crew assessed the three persons for injuries, but they subsequently refused conveyance to the hospital.
