In the meantime, we recommend affected customers who are at home to connect your devices to WiFi for better data access. We will provide another update as soon as possible.

The service was restored in about over 1 hour time:

(19 April @ 12:22am) – Final update Dear customers, all affected services have been fully restored. Some customers may experience temporary data interference, and we recommend they restart their devices to refresh data connection.

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused, and would like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding.

Over 700 comments on Starhub’s Facebook post:

Many unhappy comments were posted on Starhub’s Facebook page with a few of the netizens seeking compensation:

  • This is ridiculous. When it come to paying bills you always send us irritating SMSes reminders even though I already paid my bills. There must be some form of a compensation for us customers. You should give us a discount for our next month’s bills!
  • What’s the point of connecting to Internet when it’s suppose to give us convenience by using data to work or for daily usage. Now if ppl closing a big deal and cos they using starhub and can’t close the deal are you going to compensate their losses . It could be in a matter of thousand or maybe more.
  • Network goes down and people don’t get any answers- you update on FB and we don’t have network to access FB. Calling your hotline is agonising! StarHub service is below standard. Looks like we are at the mercy of the network provider while paying so much money. Angered and deeply disappointed.
  • Guys I’ve just spoken to the CSO after 45 minutes, was told the whole network is down not just mobile.Fiber internet and TV services are affected as well.

This is unacceptable, if we paid a premium to use 4G why are we supposed to settle for 3G and besides I am unable to even connect on my mobile data. What’s the point of paying such a high price for a service which does not work on a constant basis. Money probably better spent somewhere else!!! And also what’s the ETA as to when the services will be fully restored??

  • This is ridiculous! When paying bill keep send sms reminder and email but come to your service is really a big problem not only now got difficulty connect even home broadband always keep lagging when watch tv and suddenly black out screen due to connection when I call in customer service officer keep asking me to on off plug in and out the power switch. And still the same! StarHub
  • First my broadband, now the mobile phone. And the call centre manager didn’t even bother to return my call. As requested I demand to leave starhub without paying any penalties as your service is unacceptable and unbelievable ly bad!

0

According to a Police media release, 10 members of the public were presented the public-spiritedness award in preventing a 46-year-old man from causing further harm to a 41-year-old woman.

Background:

On 14 April 2022 at about 5:30pm, the Police responded to a case of assault with a chopper at 75 Beach Road. Upon arrival, officers found the woman with slash wounds at scene. Several members of the public had intervened to help the woman by shouting and throwing objects at the man and distracting him, in their attempts to mitigate further harm caused against the woman. When police officers arrived, a few members of the public directed the Police to the whereabouts of the man. Police officers located the man and deployed the Taser to subdue him. Both the 41-year-old woman and the 46-year-old man were conveyed conscious to the hospital.

Mr Leonard Shi and Mr Jackie Tee heard the call for help at the back alley of Liang Seah Street. They attempted to disorientate the man by shouting at him and throwing anything they could find, to prevent the man from causing more harm to the woman.

At another nearby restaurant, five other men, Mr Lim Chee Kong, Mr Lei Hai Qiu, Mr Wei Chen Xiang, Mr Lim Chee Wei and Mr Lin Yong Ping, heard the call for help as well and started to pick up plastic chairs, bins, and signposts, and threw the items at the man to distract him.

Another two men Mr Pan Xiao Shuo and Mr Zhang Dai, who were servicing an air-conditioning unit, grabbed a ladder from their lorry parked nearby, with the intention to chase the man away and to defend themselves against the man, while the man was along Liang Seah Street.

Madam To Lee Kwee, a waitress at a steamboat restaurant nearby, ran to seek help from staff of a nearby hotel, who then alerted the Police to the incident.

Mr Jackie Tee, who was a manager of a nearby barbeque restaurant, took a plastic storage box and threw it at the man to distract him and prevent him from inflicting more harm to the helpless woman, while the man was allegedly attacking the woman along Liang Seah Street.

GUY ASKS IF S’PORE IS GETTING HOTTER, SAYS HIS ROOM LIKE FURNACE

0

Is it just me or Singapore is getting even hotter?

I knew Singapore was getting hotter but I didn’t expect what was to come this year.

Usually I try not to use air-con but since the start of the year I literally have had to turn on the ac for most of the day, even at night, if not my room becomes a furnace.

Anyone else feeling the same? How often do you turn on your air-con?

Netizens’ comments

  • it’s freaking hot… i don’t have an air con in my room, some nights i really couldn’t sleep despite maximum my fan speed
  • It is super super hot. I used to stay away from the outdoors at 11 30 onwards to 330 cos you can feel the heat of the sun.
Now by 930, you can feel the heat of the sun. It’s insane. We used to have more huge green land parcels. It’s next to nothing now. And we used to have huge rain trees for shade. Now we have thin narrow trees lining the roads. It’s damn hot.
It’s concrete jungle everywhere and you can feel the heat radiating from the roads. Last time all schools had no aircon. Now they do have some aircon in some classrooms. Also buses, bus interchange, all shops in your town centre. Also town centres used to have shops. Now you have a mall using aircon throughout. Aircon makes the surround hotter.
  • no aircon and never open windows also. ok lah. used to it.

The collective use of aircon makes the country’s temperature even worse so even if I could breathe without my nose getting blocked, I will not contribute to the rising temperature as far as I can help it

GUY’S GF DOESN’T WANT TO SHARE THEIR RELATIONSHIP ONLINE

Girlfriend Doesn’t Want to Post Relationship on Social Media. Worried about Co-Workers

Me (M28) and my girlfriend (F29) have been dating for 1 year and a half. I’ve already met her family and her friends and we are very serious about the relationship.

She’s been very hesitant about posting any pictures or anything about us on social media.

Recently, it has gotten even worse after tagging her in a Facebook post I saw (we are both looking for an apartment).

She basically said she doesn’t want me to tag her in any posts because she doesn’t want people to see anything about our relationship.

She tells me that it’s because of her co-workers and that her co-workers like to gossip and create drama.

I understand keeping the relationship private, but this seems like overkill. Especially after dating for a year and a half.

What’s the best way to sit down and talk with her respectively about our relationship and social media?

Netizens’ comments

she needs to remove her coworkers from Facebook. just tell her to tell them she isn’t using Facebook anymore.

i work in a company and i have the same issue with coworkers gossiping and causing drama. in particular this 1 person who always talks crap about every single person behind their back.

i specifically don’t add anyone from my work on my Facebook because of this particular person. i have a Instagram/twitter that is work related/business and i just add coworkers on that.

DISPUTE AT EVERHEALTH CLINIC, STAFF KICKS WOMAN’S PRAM

The Everhealth Clinic IncidentCCTV footage that allegedly captures what occurred in the clinic prior to the incident in the Tik Tok video has been published on the Internet.

Everhealth Medical & Everhealth Family clinic posted the following statement:-

“We would like to apologize for causing public alarm over the Tik Tok video taken this morning outside our clinic. Please give us some time to look into the matter with the parties concerned.Thank you all for your understanding!”

Part 1 of incident

A woman was seen having an argument with the staff and started throwing things before knocking over items on the counter.

The money is trying to show what a Karen is to her child so that her child would grow up and be like her.

Part 2 of incident

The argument continued outside the clinic and the pram was kicked away by the clinic staff.

The mother may have started it but with your staff’s violent behaviour after that, who will dare to visit your clinic? The child is the innocent party in this and it is crucial that as adults, we must be positive examples to him.
