NSFS SHARE THEIR ARMY GHOST STORIES DURING NS, AT TEKONG

0

A netizen shared that he heard rumours of “negative energies” at Pulau Tekong, and asked those who are serving or have served to share their stories of encounters with the energies.

Here is what the netizens said

  • Was on exercise during hungry ghost month.

Dead of the night and the signal set decides to act up. Couldn’t contact the others. No sound from the receiver.

Then… boommmm it bursts to life, but it sounded like it was picking up random interference. Could hear like muffled radio all.

It was really noisy so my friend reached over to unplug the speaker… and I swear, we all heard a female voice saying “help me” over and over again.

We all stunned till my encik pulled the speaker and said to try contacting again in the morning.

  • Ammo Dump on Tekong is a hell of spooky at night. The street lamps on the road towards the building itself do not help at all with the dense foliage. I always felt creeped out with my hair standing doing prowling duties like there is something hiding in the trees looking at us, but it could just be my own imagination scaring me. My buddy and I did hear faint but clear Muslim prayer calls at around 0200 AM in the morning, honestly, it was spooky because the Ammo Dump is located in the middle of Tekong, so if the prayer calls came from Malaysia, it had to be really loud to travel all the way here. Seems totally implausible too because having it loud means disturbing the whole kampong there too.

A friend of mine claims his buddy and he saw an old Malay uncle pushing a pushcart on the main road when they were lepaking at the junction of the Ammo Dump. The uncle came up to them and asked if they wanted to buy Nasi Lemak, but they both turn down the offer. The uncle then continues on and when they finally turn their back around, he disappeared. It could be a troll story, but based on my own experience at that place, I just find is hard not to believe.

Unit wise, my former camp used to be part of the old Seletar military airbase. That place is really damn ulu and also unclean because of the said past histories with the Japanese during World War 2. When doing guard duty, we had to prowl near the old hangers of 35th SCE. You know they are remnants of World War 2 because the blast doors of said hangers had bullet holes riddled in them. The area around the old hangers actually felt eerily because of the lack of light sources and they are near a body of water. Some claim to see shadows darting inside via the broken window panes. Really a huge sense of negative energy especially during the 7th month.

  • 2am-ish doing guard duty prowler at the ammo dump at the Rocky Hill Camp further down a bit. Was told by the guard comd that there’s a cat playing with the ammo, told to go check it out.

Heard some light “plink plink” sounds as we were outside the armskote room thing, like metal gently hitting each other. Went in, no cat, sound stopped. Guard comd says he can see it on the video. Shine torchlight at that spot, no cat nothing.

Got out, starting to leave, plinking sound restarted. Went back, take a look again, sound stopped, no cat, everything in place no touch.

Got out again, starting to leave again, plinking sound restarted.

WOMAN CALLED A ‘MONEY FACE’ AFTER TAKING HUSBAND’S LIFE INSURANCE

I’m a single mother/ widow in my late 30s with 3 children, my husband passed away 10years ago due to a sudden cardiac arrest at work.

It was a shock for us all when we receive the news of his passing because my hubs did a health check 2 weeks before his death and there was no medical condition. It make it even more difficult when I had 3 young children(youngest was an infant) and his parents didn’t receive the news well and they started to blame me for his death.

Before my hubs passing, we live a simple life and were content with whatever we had. My hubs was also a great father to the children and though he spend lesser time at home, his love for his children was no less. He would spend his free time playing, feeding, bathing, and putting the children to bed. He would also help me with the household chores including his fav chore – washing the toilet.

Both of us are working parents and his working hours are irregular due to shift work. But we manage to work out the childcare arrangement including having my mum to help out when the kids are sick.

However, in the eyes of his parents, these are things that he shouldn’t be doing and i did not fulfil my role as a wife to care for him and overwork him by having him to do the “extra duties” that may result to his death.

After his passing, his parents told me that I have made my hubs work so hard for the family which lead to his death. So now, I would have to rely on my own and I can take my hubs insurance monies and leave. Which my husband had also name me as the beneficiary for the the insurance. I was hurt with their words as I lost my hubs too but I try not to take their words seriously since they are also grieving for the loss of their son.

During the first year of the passing of my hubs, i did try to make attempts to visit them with the children, hoping that the children will bring them comfort. But all our calls and visit requests were denied.

Since than i have not met them for almost 10years. But recently I bump into their relatives on the street and got called out and criticise for being “cold hearted”, “unfilial”, “money grubber / money face”?! ????????

I was taken aback with what was said and was angered by all the untruth and assumption made. I didn’t explain myself to these people as I don’t own them anything and walked away. Thank god, my children weren’t with me.

The only sum I receive was my hubs insurance monies and I’ve save it for my children education this would also be my hubs wish. How was it a money face?

I didn’t share this incident with my family because it would anger them. They have been the ones supporting me and the 3 kids, so that I We can rebuild our lives and the children can have good childhood like other kids. I am grateful for what my family has done for us.

Til this day as I look back, I would think that I did what I could back than.

I hope I do not have to meet them and our path will never cross if this is what it takes to move on with our lives.

LAWRENCE WONG – ALL MY LIFE, I’VE NEVER HANKERED FOR POWER

The new leader of the PAP’s 4G team, Lawrence Wong, said during his opening remarks at a press conference that throughout his life, he has never hankered for post, position or power.

Here is what he said (transcript)

Throughout my life, I’ve never hankered for post, position or power. I’ve always been realistic about my own abilities and strengths.

My philosophy in life, instilled by my parents from young, is that whatever task I’m assigned, I will give of my best.

And if my best falls short as it surely will from time to time, I try to learn and I strive to improve and do better.

So, I have never gone out looking for work, additional work, but somehow the work finds me, and over the last 25 years in public service, my duties and responsibilities have kept on growing.

It’s like what happened two years ago when I was in MND then and DPM called me out of the blue.

He asked, “Have you heard about the virus in Wuhan?”

And before I knew it, I was co-chairing the MTF with Gan Kim Yong.

Now I will be taking on what would possibly be the biggest responsibility of my life.

I am under no illusions about the demands of the job. It will get more challenging with greater political contestation and the growing desire for diversity in Parliament.

And as PM said in Parliament recently, we do not assume that the PAP will win the next general election.

Every GE from now on will be about which party will form the Government, not just how many seats the opposition wins or what percentage of the votes the ruling party gets.

Knowing full well that we will have to earn the right of leadership, I will continue with the same principles that have guided me all these years, which is to give of my best, to engage and listen, and to learn and improve continually.

And as I have repeatedly emphasised, leadership, and political leadership is never about one person, it’s always about the entire team.

Even a giant like Mr Lee Kuan Yew had a team. The same was true for Mr Goh Chok Tong, and now PM Lee. He has SM Teo, SM Tharman, and many others. So much more the case will be with me.

I need each and every one of the 4G team, the ministers, the SMSes, the MOSes, the parl-secs and the MPs. As a team we have worked together to fight Covid-19 these past two years.

We’ve gelled and grown closer together as a team. I believe we have strengthened our bonds with Singaporeans too through this crisis of a generation and the bonds among Singaporeans have also been strengthened by the crisis.

In some societies, the crisis depleted social capital and weakened political trust. In Singapore, I think we have dealt with the crisis in such a way as to add to our social capital and strengthen political trust, and I am very grateful for that.

But beyond this crisis, there will be many more challenges ahead of us, especially as we enter a more complex, volatile and unpredictable world.

We need to get through this pandemic and the pressing economic challenges we are facing today, and we must work hard to build a better Singapore tomorrow.

We can overcome all of these challenges only as a strong and united team with a single-minded focus to serve Singapore and Singaporeans.

And that’s why I value the contributions from everyone in the team, including our broader team of hardworking and dedicated party activists.

I look forward to bringing in more people to join our cause, to contribute in different ways and help strengthen our team.

And of course, I will continue to benefit from the advice and guidance of our seniors, especially PM and our two SMs.

I look forward to working closely with everyone to take the PAP and Singapore forward, and to earn the trust and support of each and every Singaporean.

GUY SICK OF RESPONSIBILITIES, WANTS EVERYONE TO LEAVE HIM ALONE

0

I don’t want to work, or go to class, or see anyone, I wish everyone would just leave me alone.

I’m so tired of having responsibilities. I don’t want to do this anymore. Why do I have to work and socialize with coworkers and see people who don’t make me happy just to stay pleasant and on good terms with others..

I’m so tired of life and being an adult this is ridiculous and miserable.

You’re telling me you spend the beginning of your life being happy so that you have to grow up and deal with this crap?

What’s the actual point?

Netizens’ comments

  • Same 23 and dealing with this now, honestly a big F U is all I wanna tell everyone.. I hate this s— but yeaaaaa I guess it’s growing up lol
  • This was me 20 years ago, and it gets worse. People degenerate and the FAKEness doesn’t last long.

But I realized I needed to focus my attention on what brings me joy.

  • You’re not wrong for noticing certain truths about our societal conditions, but the desire to run away from it is taking the position of surrender, and giving into that while there is still other options is foolish. This isn’t your fault for feeling like that, your biology has been pushed to the point that it no longer is functioning correctly as it should to succeed, grow, develop, and have a natural curiosity and drive for life.

What are the other options? There’s plenty, except many time when we are in abject suffering and stuck in certain mental/physical states we cannot see them, because we are ill and limited in our perception.

The basics are finding ways to minimize stresses in any way possible, and then work on building up the self to become strong and able to contend with the world. Nutrition, safety, relationships, environment, and medication can all be deployed to build up the individual to become a completely different instantiation of themselves, one who is no longer the same damaged individual who struggled to contend with the social order of humanity, and ideally one who can then become a part of the change of human order, but at the least one who is no longer personally suffering and instead has a positive, hopeful, and loving disposition to life.

GUY HATES HIS MOM FOR SLEEPING WITH MAN ON HIS BED DURING A PARTY

0

I (18m) have always loved my mom because of what she did for me and my sister, but now I feel just hate and resentment towards her now.

This started in 2021 when she had thrown a small party for a UFC fight that was going on that night. I really didn’t care so most of the night i was on my phone.

I was asked many times to play drinking games with my mother and her friends but I don’t like alcohol and I don’t really want to get drunk around my mom. My mother on the other hand was enjoying herself and her friends were also.

Later in the night by 11pm many people went home, but there were just 3 guests, me, and my mother left. She and her friends were all enjoying their night by taking shots and basically just drinking a lot.

I had work in the morning so i had told them to enjoy their night and please keep the noise down so that I’ll hopefully get some rest.

After an hour of them basically not caring I come out to tell them please to be a little more quiet because I have work early the next day.

I was met with them not really paying attention and basically brushing me off the rest of the conversation.

There was one of her friends, let’s call him Larry. Larry said to me, “Hey just to let you know, it’ll probably be like this the whole night.” He gave a very we don’t care about you type attitude.

I was fed up at this point, they were playing music, drinking, and laughing so loud that i could hear it over the music.

I made a decision to move into my moms bed because it was a little farther away from where they were. To no avail I still couldn’t really fall asleep.

Fast forward to about 4am in the morning and I hear a moaning noise. At first I thought that it was someone watching adult videos, but then I realized that it was my mother.

To clarify my room and her room are basically right next to each other. She was getting intimate in my bed, in my room, where I sleep.

I was absolutely livid. It went on for a while, I honestly played music on my phone so I wouldn’t hear it. After sometime I find out it is Larry whom my mom slept with on my bed.

I wait until he leaves and it’s time for me to go to work, I get up and start packing my things. My mom gets up and I let her have it, I rip into her and let her know that she is disrespectful of my space and how I always respect her and who does this to their son.

It ended with us having a major argument and me moving in with my dad. We talked about it over breakfast on a later date and she apologized, but I don’t think I can ever see her the same as I saw her before.

I know that alcohol makes you do crazy things but I never thought to this degree. I have talked to her a number of times but recently I have blocked her from texting me.

I developed major trust issues with women because I thought they all were going to humiliate me like my mother did, I have major problems with anxiety so I now feel emasculated, my self confidence is non existent, and it still haunts me to this day.

My family is telling me to forgive her but I haven’t told them the full story because my mom doesn’t want them to know. I honestly am at my wit’s end, I still love her but I just never want to be put in a situation like that ever again.

PM LEE – LAWRENCE WONG’S DEPUTY WILL BE DECIDED BY HIM IN DUE TIME

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said yesterday that Lawrence Wong’s deputy will be decided by him at a later date.

PM Lee was speaking at a press conference after the announcement that Wong will be the leader of the PAP’s 4G team.

In an exercise conducted by former party chairman Khaw Boon Wan, the exercise was to choose the leader of the 4G team and not his deputy, hence no decision was made on his deputy, yet.

PM Lee added that “in due course, Lawrence will decide who will be his deputy and who will be in his core team. And I hope he and his colleagues will work hard to identify and induct more promising leaders into the team to build up the 5G team for Singapore”.

PM Lee added that Wong will succeed him as Singapore’s next prime minister if the PAP wins the next general election in 2025.

On the issue of deputy prime ministers, Lee said that in his father’s case, Goh Chok Tong was identified as his successor and Ong Teng Cheong as the 2nd deputy.

And in his case, the ministers “settled on him” and after, he appointed his deputy prime ministers.

He added: “In the case of Mr Heng Swee Keat and Mr Chan Chun Sing, on that occasion, the ministers who caucus, who were involved, thought that they wanted to have a pairing and that would be the best choice.”

ELDERLY COUPLE SPOTTED CARING LOVINGLY EVEN AT OLD AGE

Getting old is part and parcel of life, a sweet and adorable moment was spotted in the MRT after an elderly man was seen caring for his wife on the train.

The video has been circulating on Reddit with many people stating that they wish they can be as sweet as the couple when they become old.

As touching as the moment can be, netizens pointed out that they should not be drinking on the train. (what a wet blanket)

Positive comments found on the video:

  • marriage goals. Its really hard ppl. To spend so much time with someone and still love each other.
  • Filming strangers in the public is creppy man… I know they love each other, but still I wouldn’t want random dude filming me and my partner.
  • What if the one who took this video is their son/daughter/grandson/granddaughter? Or some relative. Loved the emotion in the vid doesn’t matter they’re married anot
  • Kindness. Whether they’re a couple or not, it’s kindness and care.
  • I like how people assume two old people just automatically have been together for many years, or even that they’re not married to other people.

WOMAN CLAIMED THAT SKH MEDICAL STAFF “LACK OF EMPATHY”

Visiting your loved ones in the hospital is often not a joyous occasion, especially when loved ones are on the death bed.

Facebook user Eileen Meilisa recently posted on her Facebook claiming that the hospital staff lack empathy.

Here is what she said:

During my mum 16days in hospital, i have made a request to transfer to SGH as 10 days in icu ward 23 bed 32,36 repeatedly 4hourly blood test but could not find the source of the infection as claimed profound of septic shock in nature, but got rejected as mum isn’t in stable condition and that they claimed everywhere is the same. 11th day transferred to general ward, hoping for a miracle and seek for transfer again to get a second opinion, mum condition deteriorate so i gave up the thought of transferring her. Medical practicers in SKH Ward 610 is a nightmare!

2 horrifying incident happened:

First, 1 of the ward doctors by the name of Dr Johnathan came up to me right infront of my mum bed here is the conversation “your mum is in her last days and that transferring anywhere is the same..whether u want her to die at home, at SGH, at SKH or even Hospices. We can easily prolong her life to be able to see your wedding next month by putting her on drips”

Second, a ward nurse (PRC young nurse) handling my mum doing handover shift to another nurse (Joey Foo) and a guy nurse while i on my mum’s bedside. Partial handover loud conservation went exactly like this “you need to take photo with ur hp and submit the patient (my mum) BP and Oxygen level every hourly and key in manually in their computer system, if she (my mum) die then it will be use as a proof, if she (my mum) never die then no need to do anything la” HELLO!!??? What did i just heard? am i deaf?

Apart of all these, soiled diaper also takes nearly 40mins to be cleaned up after nurse is aware just bcos my mum could not communicate, could not call out for help when needed to. It should not be neglected like this and caused her to have bedsores and infections on her inital wounds at the butt area.

Knowing my mum well, i just kept my cool and decided to head to their patient relationship center to do file a complaint. My purpose of sharing on social media because i don’t receive any updates on all these complaints yet am seeing worse thing happening in the ward.

Ministry of Health, Singapore Sengkang General Hospital Please remind the medical practicers to have empathy with patients and next of kin, be mindful of the choice of words and speak with respect just like you wished to be treated with.

As a nurse, i think it is important to protray professionalism at all times during their duties.

I spent an average of 6-8hrs a day in the ward and witnessed how nurse (Joey Foo) shouting around in the ward forgetting this and that shouting for colleagues to bring over, gossiping with colleagues infront of next of kin regards which and which doc just increased the medication dosage without informing. Not protraying impatience with helping elderly to the washroom when asked to. Lastly i like to especially thank this nurse (Cindy Tan) and a ponoy guy nurse that cleaned up my mum nicely after my mum passed on.

I like to have an explanation on this “You can prolong my mum life by just putting her on drip, why she still passed on?”
