A video emerged online showing a bride and groom taking to the streets of Orchard Road (in the middle of the road) for a very interesting photo shoot.

The video begins with the camcar stopping at a red light, at a traffic junction, as the pedestrians started crossing the road.

Among the pedestrians were a bride and groom, as well as their friends and photographer(s), who stopped in the middle of the crossing while the green man was still on.

The groom then carried his bride up on his shoulders, as the woman inside the camcar exclaimed excitedly, “AIYOOO, YOU SEE! OH MY GOODNESS! AHAHAHAHA!”

The groom then lifted his bride up even higher with one hand, as she held two bouquets of flowers aloft, as the people inside the camcar erupted into cheers and applause.

Passer-bys were also seen stopping to witness the magnificent act of athleticism displayed for the couple’s wedding photoshoot.

Bravo!

A peculiar incident happened in San Francisco, when the police stopped a car for driving at night without headlights on.

Officers then approached the vehicle and discovered that there was no driver inside the vehicle, as the puzzled officers circled the car and peered through the window.

A video of the incident was posted online, presumably taken by a passerby, who exclaimed in the video: “there’s no one in it, it’s crazy!”

Nothing paranormal about it

The company that owns the car, Cruise, responded that the vehicle was a self-driving car and it had “yielded to the police vehicle, then pulled over to the nearest safe location for the traffic stop, as intended.”

They added that “an officer contacted Cruise personnel and no citation was issued”.

Cruise said that the headlights of the self-driving car were turned off because of human error, and a spokesperson for the police said that a maintenance team had taken control of the car after the police had stopped it.

Cruise was founded in 2013 and has developed a program that allows cars to drive themselves.

A hit-and-run accident took place at a multi-storey carpark involving a Mercedes, which was driving out of the carpark.

The incident happened at Vision Exchange, on 12 April at about 9.50pm.

The camcar was seen driving up the ramp, and up the multi-storey carpark when the Mercedes drove down on the opposite lane.

The Mercedes then hits the camcar on the way down but continued driving away from the scene of the accident.

Here is what the camcar driver said

Hit and run driver. While heading upward through roundabout, black merc from the opposite direction crossed lane hit and run.

Could not capture carplate clearly. Other party left immediately. Seeking the public for help for any footages.

Potential penalties

It is a punishable offence to leave the scene of an accident, which is considered a hit-and-run – upon conviction, first-time offenders face a fine of up to $3,000 or a jail term of up to 12 months.

A joint operation was conducted by the National Environment Agency (NEA), the Singapore Police Force, and the Land Transport Authority (LTA).

They were conducting a joint enforcement operation against errant foreign-registered vehicles who do not comply with Singapore’s regulations.

On LTA’s part, we checked whether licence plates are properly displayed and Vehicle Entry Permits remain valid. Among those checked, 8 motorists were caught for the improper display of licence plates.

Vehicle licence plates must be prominently displayed at the front and back of all vehicles in the stipulated format.

Twelve motorists driving foreign-registered vehicles were caught for vehicular offences during the joint enforcement blitz near the Woodlands checkpoint on 12 Apr 2022, carried out by NEA, Singapore Police Force, and Land Transport Authority

The enforcement blitz was carried out to remind motorists to adhere to environmental and road safety regulations, which also apply to foreign-registered vehicles entering Singapore.

From 6 Apr 2023, all foreign-registered motorcycles will be required to meet the limits of 4.5 per cent Carbon Monoxide (CO) by Volume; and 7,800ppm Hydrocarbon (for 2-stroke engines) or 2,000 Hydrocarbon (for 4-stroke engine).
