As many vehicles are crossing the border, there will surely be a few that are willing to risk it and attempt to get cheaper fuel by not pumping enough into their vehicle.

A photo has been circulating on Whatsapp of a man receiving a notice that he has been caught with less than 3/4 fuel tank.

The letter is dated 4 April 2022 at 4.38 PM at Woodlands inward car bay.

Composition Amount

In the letter, it wrote: Sect 136(1) of the Customs Act Attempting to leave Singapore in a motor vehicle with a fuel tank for motor fuel containing less than the minimum amount of motor fuel prescribed for that fuel tank, an offence under the Customs Act.

It looks like it’s just not worth it, paying $100 is definitely more expensive.

Hundreds gathered at Hong Lim Park on Sunday afternoon (Apr 3) to protest against the death penalty.

It is believed that the protest was triggered by the recent execution of a drug trafficker in late March and also the recent unsuccessful appeal of Nagaenthran K. Dharmalingam.

Protest against the death sentence

The speaker of the event Kristen Han said in a Facebook post:

“This evening, over 400 Singaporeans and PRs showed up at Hong Lim Park to call for the abolition of the death penalty — over *eight times* more than what I’d allowed myself to expect. People made placards, joined in on chants, cheered on speakers, demonstrated solidarity for people on death row and their loved ones, and demanded an end to state violence.

Members of Abdul Kahar’s family attended the protest today. They, too, said that the turn-out was larger than they’d expected. Some members of the family had seen callous comments on social media about Kahar in the week before his execution, when we were trying our best to campaign and raise awareness. Today, they saw support and solidarity instead. Kahar’s younger brother, Abdul Mutalib, told me, “It is over for my brother. Now we fight for everyone else.”

Holding Signboards

Many of the participants were holding up signboards with names of people who had been sentenced to death in the past and with messages protesting against the penalty.

A 52-year-old man was following a pack of about 30 otters from a 2-metre distance to take videos during his morning run.

He ended up being bitten on the calf when one of the otters attacked him, according to The Straits Times.

The man, Mr Ang said that he was having his morning run at Kallang Riverside Park on 4 April.

He then saw a large group of about 30 otters and followed them from a distance when one of the otters lunged at him.

He said that he was a little shocked when the otter turned toward him, and that his instinct told him to stay still, thinking that nothing would happen – he never expected the otter to bite him.

His leg bled but he didn’t think the injury was serious enough to warrant an ambulance, so he washed his wound at a nearby toilet.

He then took a bus towards Raffles Hospital where he got a tetanus shot, as well as an x-ray; he also received 5 days medical leave.
